《Blood Limit》Ch 30

"Thank you. I've had a wonderful visit." I said pleasantly.
"Of course! You can expect nothing less from us." Said her vivacious mother elf as Aryna stood off to to the side watching me impatiently.
"Do you mind explaining to me why you're coming with me?" I inquired the waiting elf.
"We've been through this before-" she said as I cut her off.
"Then again please.." -Sasu
"Ugh." She groaned. "For the thousanth time you must show me that barrier you have constructed!"
"Why you do have to come with me is what I don't understand.."
"Should I come instead?" Asked her mother.
"Uhm.." Over the past 2 weeks I have stayed in this place with this family with Earl (the father), Mystia Oliwa (the mother), and Aryna. Contrary to my expectations things were actually peaceful here. The few time humans appeared just to be put down and enslaved were minor disturbances quickly dealt with by Earl and Aryna.
I asked why he didn't take care of them by him self but was replied with "She needs to learn. Intellect, experience, battle, the maneuvers." To which I replied my understanding. "I get it."
Besides the small interruptions when I arrived back I was just in time for the "entertainment", the humans were either outright disgusting or torturing one another between them selves. In an organized manner. It was set in several groups varied by what the family desired at the time.
I was stolen by surprise when there was a human play of something similar to Romeo and Juliet, it was great right up until Earl decided to stab Romeo in real time as the play was on going. Shock on my face was apparent at the time while Mystia had an amused expression watching my reaction.
Even more shocking "Juliet" was forced to continue alone but where Romeo could not play she took on both roles playing his character right down until he died it became difficult to a whole new degree.
The girl when looking into the glass vial she hesitated to down the poison, that's when her eyes lifted to glance at me with those eyes of hope and expectation. She wanted me to.. To save her.
-Do not look at me with such eyes.. You will ruin what I have going here so do whatever it is they tell you. By the way is that death poison real?/ I thought.
I raised my hands in my seat in a 'Dont involve me' manner and she bite her lip coming to tears shouting indignant statements about me being a traitor and such. I felt gazes from my sides coming from the elves all present were us four and a few human maids in their formal maid attire.

-Was this actually a test maybe? Maybe I had been expected to interfere here../ I thought.
After a glance Earl stood and waved a hand as he cast his order to the human actress. "Drop it. You are due for a performance later, go prepare!" She bowed as elegant as she was capable going a perfect 90° . she rose slowly and gave me a side glance... No. A glare.
-Does she really see me as a traitor? Never mind that.. Why is there hatred in those eyes?/ I thought.
And the actress walked off disappearing from the room.
"I think.." Earl spoke before turning to the rest of us. "We can expect your cooperation to an extent." He said.
"To an extent?" I said confused. I believe if this were a test I passed with flying colors. Or did they see something? My brows furrowed unconsciously.
"Yes, its just a way I do things. Not only through experience but expectation, I do hope that you take not this to heart." He said
"Understood."
This did not really offend me, in fact I'm the same way. Its better to expect things than to be left with your back open for a back stabbing. Besides through similarities we would be able to strengthen our bond would we not?
"I'm just the same way. None of us wants to find an unexpected knife in the back." I said with a smile plastered countenance.
"We see eye to eye.. Besides this your power is at a good level." He said. I got the feeling down played my powers quite a bit just now. Was it for arrogance?
Aryna had gotten a look of suspicion about her but said nothing.
"You two are getting along well! And this is common ground we have found is it not?" Mystia said seemingly pleased with an expressive smile on her face.
""Yes"" We say at the same time, with a bit of shock appearing on our faces.
"Dear, why don't we go and agree to this boy's request." Said Mystia.
A bit of hesitation, a thoughtful expression appeared but a short moments later he agreed.
This action set me on my feet. I took step after step which eventually carried me toward until I met the self proclaimed elf primordial. He seemed puzzled but I could feel his energy welling up in very slight caution.
It was not as though he planned to blast me and cut me to pieces for just doing this. We really only just met so he has the correct approach in his caution here.

I put forward my right hand and hope this has the same universal meaning.
A bit shocked but he doesn't show it long enough for a normal person to notice. He shook my hand.
"Too find my self shaking hands with the very being that we enslave. You have my... What do we call this? You are the only one right?" He said with A firm to confused look.
"No, there are others." This gave everyone an unwilling look so I decided to quickly finish my sentence. "There exist other humans of course as does wild life and proper foundation but the only one I desire to involve in this is my dear sister." I said hurriedly.
"Hmm.. You mean to say an actual civilized human exist?" He looked a bit surprised but there is disbelief on everyone.
I mean I stand before you don't I? Or rather Am I civilized? Don't answer that..
"Yes. And contrary to your humans they stay above ground. In properly constructed homes and business, schools, careers, and work and such." I said in a breath.
This information left a few stunned faces around the large room.
"I would like to see this." Mystia spoke in an interested manner.
Seeing his wife's interest peaked he decided to interrupt. "But dear you cant, you are well aware of what happens if they don't find you here. As the wife of a primordial and because of your power I would get an earful!" He complained
"Is that all? So if I'd left then none of you would miss me is that correct?" Mystia replied.
"I had not meant-" Earl
"Then I am leaving when he does!" Before I knew it she had linked arms with me as she screamed her declaration cutting Earl off.
As beautiful as she is with extremely gorgeous hair long burning redish-pink tresses long and down her back. Her perfect features and her body being absolutely gorgeous I was not enjoying this. If he targets me for this then it could ruin everything. So I stayed stock still to watch this play through.
"Dear do not...do this.." He said leaving gaps between his sentence.
Mystia waited.
"Please..." He said.
"Well we could send Aryna if that's the case." She said finally.
"Yes that would be better.." He sighed in relief.
-Haha I think my journey just got complicated. So I have to care for an entire elf during an apocalypse!? Not that I'm worried much about her persay but the civilians. Wait what if there's a possible infection ability the zombies carry? Goddess I came to play "God" so tell me why do I feel backed against the corner!/ I screamed indignantly inside my mind.
~
"Madam Mystia, if you come or not is your decision but if you wish to come along I am willing." I said to her as I lowered my head before straightening up. "I will take my leave." I said and gave Earl a final glance. In his eyes was he sent me a message "take care of her." I nodded and sauntered back to the direction we came from with Aryna coming beside me.
~
The two stood and watched the human and elf pair disappear into the forest.
One seemed interested in following the pair while the other seemed to have a difficult expression.
"I wonder if they will arrive in time.." Said Mystia as their backs finally became to hidden in the forestry to recognize.
"..."
"I would have loved to venture once more, OUT! out into the world that is entirely new to me. All the sights and the activity, the festivities." She said.
"..."
Her eyes left forestry and gave a peek to her husband.
He stood in silence as his focus remained absolutely trained on the view ahead.
She pushed harder. "Is this this the proper way to express your love!?"
"You can go." He spoke.
In an instant her expression became absolute happiness and a sour Earl was given a peck to his cheek by an euphoric Mystia.
"As expected of you my husband." She said. Happily and quickly left before he could change his mind.
~
"Is this the proper way you express your love? ..... Pffft" said a lone man on a porch.
And an enraged elf went off to his own devices.
~
"So you've come..?"

Black Wind, White Lotus
In this world, there are haves and have nots. The former are pureblooded humans, some of whom are capable of manipulating qi, the mysterious energy that flows through every living creature, to miraculous results that defy the laws of nature and physics. Wen Feili was one such cultivator. However, she allied with the have nots- the anthropomorphic hybrids incapable of channeling qi-and dabbled in forbidden demonic arts, seeking to change the very composition of reality. This did not end well for her, and she was consumed by her own flames. A decade later, far in the northwestern mountains, her daughter Wen Fengli is working as a lowly servant of the minor Shuangshan sect. In between sweeping the floor and avoiding bullies, she secretly trains with a wooden sword, hoping to become a warrior cultivator at some point in the future. However, since she's part-human, part-wolf, it's just a pipe dream. ....or so she bitterly thought. However, one day a mysterious amulet that belonged to her mother falls into her hands. A deranged old master, a terrible conspiracy, a mysterious past? None of that matters to tomboyish wolfgirl, who only seeks to become stronger. She embarks on a journey of adventure and self-discovery, towards the mysterious southern lands where pure demi-humans are said to live...as spectre of war once again envelops the world of man. This is a Chinese-themed fantasy story set in a fictional world. You can classify it as xianxia, if you wish, but it's a rather low fantasy variant; the heavenly realm is silent, no one reached immortality in generations, and magical artifacts of old are locked away and feared. Magical beasts and spirits have been driven to the corners of civilisation, and "ordinary" abilities such as flying or controlling swords through telekinesis are considered spectacular feats. The main plot of this book revolves around a kemonomimi girl who seeks power, no matter the cost. This story also features multiple character pov, and will not always follow the perspective of the mc- there are two major plotlines, one connected to conspiracy and war ongoing in the political background of the presented world, and the other focusing on the main character's physical and metaphorical journey. Code Reader Kagami (LitRPG)
Sometimes things happen in this world that we are not in control of. Sometimes we are to a certain degree, and sometimes we are completely in control. However, this is a tale that constantly questions those boundaries. The story follows Kagami, a young programmer, as he winds up in a world almost alien to him. If it were up to him, he would have never visited this world and would rather stay raising his young daughter. Was it through his own actions that he had wound up here? Was it due to several combinations of factors? Or was it something he completely chose. These are questions that constantly haunt Kagami’s mind as he wanders this world and ponders his actions. Unfortunately, the glaring truth of it all refuses to ever look him in the eyes. Each night as he looks up at the night sky, he wonders if the end of this would turn out like the game he made. A tale of Guts and Glory… or would it turn out like he fears, a tale of blood and tears. Regardless of how it turns out, he will one day unveil the truth enshrouding it all. And perhaps in doing so, unveil the fate of his old world, enshrouded by mystery. ___________________________________________________________________________ While this is a typical Isekai started by the infamous truck-kun, the story is most definitely not what is to be taken at face value. I love making tragic twists into these types of stories. For Code Reader Kagami, you'll begin to see a descent into psychological madness. As your hero changes entirely from the moral man he initially was. If you're not a fan of dark aspect stories, this one is not for you. Thank you~
