《There's a Smartphone in my Dantian》Chapter-2 "Nil Affinity"

Green opened his eyes and found himself laying on a makeshift bed made of hay and the room he was in was made of rough wood lumbers with its wooden roof covered with vines. Never mind the itchiness he felt, the hunger almost made lay on the makeshift bed again and never rise again.
It was when a sound rang in his ears which almost sounded like a smartphone notification did, he opens his eyes again, but this time out of surprise what greeted him was the user interface of a smartphone. Surprisingly, the user interfaces almost covered him vision as if he was wearing 3D lens connected to a smartphone.
There were no borders of the user interface and he could still see the bed and all the walls made of wood but the same message popping up, again and again, made it look unreal.
[Update available! Please update to the latest version for your convenience…]
[Yes] [No]
Green was shocked at first but when remembered the white light which came sticking with him, he got the clue how was this happening. After dying two times, he was no longer surprised. Are the words written on thin air more surprising than reincarnating three times? Green thought.
Green tried to touch the yes prompt but his finger went right through it. If he cannot touch then there must be another way to interact with the system. With this thought in his mind, he said yes as if giving a voice command.
Without a sound, the smartphone-like interface started updating and the update percentage started going up like crazy… 1%...6%...13%...34%...
The numbers climbed crazily until 100%.
[Update Completed]
A small smartphone icon appeared on the corner of his vision. With a little concentration, the icon enlarged into a real smartphone but the only difference was that it was floating in front of him instead in his hand.

The whole smartphone was blank like a white piece of paper, other that some system icons like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Night Light, Project, Time, Language, About Device and last were Camera. There was no drag option from above for shortcuts or any place to download any application. It was as if Green was visualizing a smartphone with a beta operating system containing no additional application other than the most essential ones.
The first slide menu was filled with these nine options.
Green thought for a bit and created a folder with the title ‘Basic Options’ and dragged and dropped them in the folder. Out of curiosity he opened About Device and astounded to find about there was nothing about device or anything but some measurements of his.
=====
[Device user name: Green]
[Version: 0.1]
[Hardware Strength: 1.2 (0.7 due to hunger)]
[Hardware Motor Capabilities: 0.9 (0.8 due to hunger)]
[Spirit Strength: 6.3 (New measurement)]
[Spirit Capacity: 5.9 (New measurement)]
[Spirit Quality: 93.6% (New measurement)]
=====
He tried to check other options too but before he could he do it a legendary notification appeared…
[Residue memories of the previous host are found.]
[These memories can influence the host’s decision-making skills, would like to sort required data?]
[Yes] [No]
Green clicked yes. Surprisingly, even though everything came floating in front of him, he didn’t need to read it at all! It was as if he had already read it before.
[Reading all the memories… converting into data… sorting out data… data has been categorized.]
[Data has been categorized and all influential memories have been deleted…]
[A map has been created with the help of data found… all the visited places have been recorded…]
“Who does the previous host has been in contact with`? Give me a list of all of them!” Green commanded.

[Searching database… the previous host has been in contact with 4 people for a long time.]
[1. River 2. Delta 3. Polish 4. Oplah]
Green got all the information he wanted. The pervious host never had been in contact with anyone other than these four basically. Moreover, one of them was missing for over 6 months.
This time he got no parents after reincarnating for free. Other than a boy named Delta who was three years older than him, he had not been in contact with any of them for more than one month.
Green even thought that he might be an Otaku of the different world if not for those memories he got from the database from scanning. The original name of the host was also Green and he worked very hard for some money to buy a Magic Rune.
Unlike pervious two worlds he had been in before, this world had its main theme of magic and swords.
When previous Green turned 12 years old, he directly went to the nearest shop to try his spirit affinity. Only one in hundred could have spirit and all those people who were all smarter than their peers because spirit directly increased the brain function and critical thinking skills qualitatively and quantitatively.
This process was very cheap because every person no matter 12 or 120, that person would come to try at least once a year no matter what. After all, having a spirit and not having this power made a great difference.
But it was just the starting point. If someone had the spirit affinity, he or she could easily join a Wizard Organization or a Wizard Family and he could get better resources that any wandering wizard, but everything has its two sides.
After joining the organization, he would have to sign a contract with very hard conditions and some even made him give up his freedom which was equal to giving his life in their hands, so previous Green became a wandering apprentice wizard and earning to progress on the path of formal wizards.
The contracts here were nothing like those worlds he had been to. These contracts are magical contracts and anyone who doesn’t follow the conditions written on the contract would face repercussions. No one will do anything to him but he might even die if he broke that contract in future. No one will ask him why or even cry for him even if he died…

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
8 107Mutant Farmer in the Apocalypse
In the year 2022, one year after the Z-20 Virus outbreak, all of humanity had been infected by the virus, and their bodies reacted differently. The majority of the humans turned into zombies, while the minority turned into ability users. Some didn’t change into either. They were powerless in comparison, as even feral zombies were more powerful than an average human. At 20 years old, Yang Zhang was used as a scapegoat and kicked out of his town; a medium-sized shelter base used to protect humanity from the ever-growing threat of zombie attacks. Scared and powerless against the harsh world infested with zombies, he stumbled upon a squirrel that ate the brain of a dead ability user and began discharging electricity constantly. He realized that he could use this newfound information to protect himself. “That’s right! I can build a farm and create more and more of these mutated animals and plants to protect myself!”Thus started the journey of Yang Zhang as he created a farm while continuously breeding many magical —albeit grotesque— mutated animals and plants. Yet, once the zombies and ability users started noticing his unique farm, they began to invade. With no choice left, he armed himself by creating stronger mutated animals and plants to protect the farm at all cost! “Get off of my lawn, you bunch of greedy pigs!”**Tower Defense + (Mutated) farm simulator + Zombie waifu.**--Original Cover art, using Picrew.Cover + Editor by Silly_FoxThis book is also available in Webnovel and Scribblehub--
