《The Golden Throne》A Trial of Learning

Liu Feng closed the book and got up. He called out the voice.
“I am done now. You can test me.”
“You are far too arrogant. Do you know how difficult the examination is going to be? You even slept for seven hours in the middle. You will not be able to answer any question if you have just skimmed the book. I am telling you for your own good.”
“Thank you for your advice senior, but I will go ahead with the test. I am very confident in myself.”
The voice did not respond. The book in Liu Feng’s hands disappeared. In their place a bundle of papers and a quill appeared. Liu Feng took a look at the papers and did not even hesitate to start answering the questions. Liu Feng looked like he was randomly scribbling.
Meanwhile in another room, there stood the old man and four other spirits.
“He is far too arrogant. To think that a human thinks that he can finish a book on magic circles on other objects in so little time is impossible. Adn look at the way he is writing. We will definitely see random scribbles on his paper. He does not have the approval of this King of Fire.”
“Calm down Pyrus. You are far too hasty and hot tempered. Let us wait for his paper to start judging. If he doesn’t do well he will have to leave and try again next year. “
“You are always easy-going on these humans my lord. That is why people who even failed are able to try again and again. But you are definitely wrong about him.”
Liu Feng was visible from the room, writing the test at an incredible pace. After an hour had passed, the voice came out again,

“Time is up. Let us see how you fared. This will take a very short time, I expect.”
The papers in Liu Feng’s hand disappeared. They appeared in the hands of the five spirits in the other room. They each took a part of the paper. The temperature of the room suddenly blazed hot.
“Impossible. Look at the answers he gave out. They were a perfect derivation that wasn’t even present in the book we gave him. We just did it so no one would get a perfect score.”
“I told you not to be too hasty. Let us see how we will fare in the other two tests. Let us hope that he does not disappoint. The spirits’ presence in the mortal world is slowly diminishing and I am afraid something has happened.”
Meanwhile Liu Feng was waiting for his results. He suddenly felt the heat, but he dismissed it. He sat down gathering his thoughts. The book he read really opened his eyes on the possibilities of magic. He could potentially create an undefeatable army of mages who would obey his every command. The opportunities were endless. As Liu Feng was thinking, suddenly the ground shook. A spirit with golden brown hair and brown eyes appeared. He looked at Liu Feng. He was truly interested in him.
“I am the King of Ground, Terran. We were truly impressed by your performance. I am here to monitor your next test. This is a test of perseverance. One of will power. This is where many humans fail. You will be given a break of fourteen hours. You surprisingly finished the first test ahead of time so the council has allowed you to rest for longer. “
A path opened in one of the walls, and Terran gestured Liu Feng to enter. They reached a large opening and a huge tower ahead of them. Terran gave Liu Feng a token and said,
“This will be your resting location for the remainder of the trials. When you enter the entrance with a token in hand, you will be transported to your assigned room. I wish you luck in advance.”

For to stop is to die, and to die means he failed, failed himself and all those who still desperately need him.***The Author's Note:This is another in the Core series, the first one being The Wardens of Destiny while there is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.The Recordings of Raan occurs after the events in The Wardens of Destiny, and it's a separate thread from the main story. Among other things, I separated it into a new book as it has elements of progressive LitRPG and a fantasy-world setting.Since I'll keep on writing The Wardens of Destiny, this will be one of my side-projects. Eventually in the future, I plan to integrate some of the protagonists in this story with the main storyline.

The Faction Contributor [Sci-Fi LitRPG]
While casually studying for his upcoming university exam, Aven suddenly felt the world around him start warping. It started with flashes of light appearing from nowhere, quickly escalating into his whole world becoming an absolute mess of flickering pixels and chaotic color flows, as if reality had become a malfunctioning glitched screen. What he could recognize as numbers, letters, and strange symbols flew everywhere around him, obviously trying to form a coherent whole to be displayed before his eyes, but such attempts kept failing, again and again. Before he could even start thinking about how both mesmerizing and absurd this spectacle was, however, it all stopped, as suddenly as it had begun. Accompanying the end of this unique show, 2 things happened. First, knowledge had spontaneously appeared in his mind and he could perfectly understand it, as if it had always been there, just inaccessible. Second, a weird simultaneously hot and cold energy had made its apparition inside his body completely unannounced. Aven had just simply and purely awakened his innate ability and the energy potential of his cells, joining the world of the supers, a minority that had always controlled and protected the world since ancient times, by becoming one of them. *** Do you have a sci-fi itch to scratch? Maybe that story can help~ It’s not a comic story that doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s also not a grimdark story, going to the depth of making sure the environment is the worst one ever. It’s just a serious story, a rational one, one you can comfortably dive into, written by a guy who already got some writing experience by having seriously written more than 2 000 pages of another serious story prior to starting this one. Enjoy *** Update: 3 chapters every week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Chapters: Around 3 000 words each.
