Chapter 32 - Rocky Wyrm Battle Part 2
Daevon Immortal God was a demon who left a prestigious legacy. Immortal God was the peak stage of cultivation, therefore immortal god grade arts were the most desired by all. The Daevic Eagle Formation was based on the Daevic Eagle Immortal God Art that Daevon Immortal God had left to the VIII Legion.
The Daevic Eagle was a legendary creature, a majestic bird with a black head, fiery eyes and huge blue feathered wings. He could fly everywhere, crossing any boundaries, covering whatever distance, reaching every planet.
Given his tremendous power and ability to deal with demonic, fire and wind elements the daevic eagle was deemed inferior only to true dragons.
Daevon Immortal God was believed to have had as a far progenitor a daevic eagle and his arts were inspired by the way these creatures could mix different elements to empower their attacks. Because of the strong role the deavic eagles played in the development of his Dao, he was known as Deavon Immortal God.
The VIII Legion had been founded by him and the original legionaries inherited his legacy. But that was in the past, now only few could train in that art. The veterans of the VIII Legion had studied a simplified version of the Daevic Eagle Immortal God Art, the Daevic Eagle Formation.
The Daevic Eagle carvings on the veterans’ shields seemed to be given life by the demon chi channeled by the veterans. Fiery eyes locked on the incoming draconics, huge dark chi projections of the daevic eagles rose from the shields. Fierce demonic blue wings swept, creating tempests of fire and wind.
From all the defensive line threatening wings rose, generating flaming tornados empowered by demonic chi. This terrific barrage stopped the charge of the draconics, who had to boost their body power activating their secret techniques.
“Focus your attacks!” the draconic commander roared. The attackers concentrated the attacks on the same points, aiming to create weaknesses in the defensive line.
A storm weakened and a draconic expert closed the distance. He resisted the demon wings thanks to the defensive capabilities of his extraordinary body and charged straight at the veteran.

The demon channeled his chi without losing composure and thrusted the spear, keeping his body protected by the shield. A sequence of quick chi lights shot from the spearpoint, aiming at the enemy.
Although the draconic was wielding a heavy axe, he smash it on the ground displaying incredible strength and agility. Activating his arts a chi barrier rose from the ground, creating an earth wall which neutralised the enemy lights.
The draconic jumped on the legionary, ready to explode his axe potential. A demonic scorching current came from the side, knocking him back towards the cave.
Thanks to the Daevic Eagle Formation the veterans could easily support the companions next to them, channeling the art to redirect the daevic wings. The veterans had trained together and fought many battles, they completely trusted the legionaries on their sides.
More and more close battles started, the draconics targeted the same defenders joining their attacks in an attempt to break the line. The Daevic Eagle formation started being penetrated and the draconic warriors began engaging the veterans in 1vs1 fights.
The veterans kept their cool and time after time knocked back the fierce draconics, leveraging their shields and individual combat prowess or resorting to the flexibility of their formation and cooperation.
“Rooooaaaaarr” the draconic commander roar echoed in the pass, other draconic warriors who rested until now emerged from the caves on the side of the mountain. Even fiercer attacks rained on the defensive formation.
The only two lines of legionaries started to pale under the barrage. The demon commander noticed the heavy burden his demons had to bear, he completely disregarded the side trusting the veterans.
“The VIII Legion won’t fall!” the demon commander stated, channeling all his chi in the defensive formation. Thanks to his high cultivation his help managed to stabilise the formation, giving hope to the legionaries.
The draconic commander roared and charged, followed by the elite warriors. He was the draconic commander of the citadel forces and his elite guard was formed by the nine strongest draconics of the citadel.
The tall and majestic figures of the ten warriors inspired admiration and fear. Their powerful muscles were covered by sharp scales, chi drenched breaths left their mouths.

The veterans didn’t budge though, they had faced many battles and gone through several death and life situations, fear was a luxury they learned to forget.
“That’s our father, he’s gonna break the line and save our race!” the draconic youth excitingly shouted, gesturing towards a mighty draconic elite warrior covered in violet scales and protected by an armour of the same colour.
In the midst of the chaos the elite warriors followed their commander, charging towards the enemy line. They run straight forward, parallel to each other. Suddenly they hastened their pace and targeted five different veterans, who had just knocked back their opponents.
The elite frontally faced the Daevic Eagle Formation, going all out. Flames, chi fangs, explosions ravaged the formation. These were the all out attacks of the most powerful citadel draconics. These fierce moves pushed the nearby veterans to help the attacked legionaries, stimulating their blue demonic wings.
“Our father and the commander are pairing together, they shall gain glory through the blood of the invaders” the youth exclaimed, while his sister was apprehensively observing the scene.
The elite guard channeled his chi and violet lightnings met the tempest, while his violet scales empowered with lightning arts broke the formation creating a path.
The commander was a huge draconic covered in black thick scales, his massive saber slashed many times against the defensive techniques of the veteran. Each slash was sustained by the terrific power of the commander’s bulging body.
The commander was known for his frightening power, he trained in an ancient draconic art that allowed him to increase his physical ability. His overpowering strength forced the demon into a passive position, under the cover of the square shield. Demonic chi spirals were enveloping the shield, deflecting the enemy attacks.
The veterans to the side noticed the danger and channeled all their chi to stimulate the potential of the Daevic Eagle Formation.
Huge wings brought demonic tempests on the draconic warriors, engulfing the duo. Thunderous lightnings fangs met the blue wings which aimed at the draconic commander, stopping their crashing down motion.
The elite guard was being burned the fiery demonic tempest. The scales were being eroded and its skin burned. The draconic warrior engaged the two pairs of wings coming from the sides, wielding the thunderous fangs he created with his chi.
BOOOM BOOOOM BOOOOM BOOOOM
Explosions ensued, the draconic was kneeling under the pressure of the wings, careless of the tempests ravaging his body.
“Finish’em off!” he roared, while his violet scales were replaced by burnt black skin. With his last strength he continued to prevent the formation from attacking his commander. Dazzling violet lightning fangs, which vigorously and staunchly fought the daevic wings, were the final radiance of his honorable life.
“Break!” The draconic commander roared, while anger and sorrow filled his heart. His body expanded, increasing his physical strength even more. An unbridled chi current enveloped the heavy saber. Destruction laws drenched the slashing blade, which overpowered the final defence the veteran opposed, crushing his shield and severing his left arm.
“Stop him!” the demon commander shouted.
The veterans who could still channel more chi directed at the dark draconic their daevic wings, but they were too far and the lasting chi fangs still provided cover. They continued to sizzle at the back of the draconic commander, with their lightning power continuously attacking the incoming tempests, as if the elite warrior was still there protecting his old friend.
“Devastation Talon!” The draconic commander roared, his heavy saber enveloped in destruction laws crashed against the second line of legionaries.
The saber decapitated the closer legionary, injuring the others. These demons not only were exhausted and busy in dealing with attacks from above, but they were also significative weaker than the veterans who defended the side.
The draconic commander started a massacre, the formation collapsed, the raining attacks ravaged the demon army.
“Retreat!”

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
