《The oddity that shall be, my new life》Chapter 3

We walked out of the dining hall, then continued left down the hallway, then down a few corridors then we passed by a window. As we passed a along it by about two feet and seeing in my peripheral vision, I halted my step going bug eyed, then snapped my vision to the window jumping slightly from the sight. "Jesus!" I said loudly, startled at the sight before me. "Oh yeah, forgot to say something about that." Hailix said looking out the window then looked at my face which sported a twitching right eye. "The fuck!" I said, pointing both arms at the window showing the expanse of space in all its glory. As well as seeing the Earth.

"Yeah, we left the atmosphere a while ago." Hailix informed me, though she was very late on that bit of information. I gave a somewhat baffled stare as I switched my attention on the window and her several times before settling my sight on Hailix again.

I continued to hold my arms in an accusing manner at the window, pointing at it again. "Again...the fuck." I said more calmly.

Hailix made an apologetic though slightly nervous smile. "Sorry."

I sighed letting my arms drop back to my sides, closing my eyes and shaking my head. "That would've been lovely to know earlier..." Psycho said. Riiiiigght?

I opened my eyes then looked at her. "Alright. Let's continue then..."

We continued to walk for a short time, then when we rounded a corner I saw a room down the hall with a holo pistol above the door, with the text Armory above the pistol as it slowly spined. My eyes widened at the prospect of thinking we're going to this room next. "And there's our next destination on our ship tour." She announced confirming my guess.

We walked on to the room and went in. I went wide eyed at the beautiful sight of all the weapons they had in this large room, at which I made a quiet shuddering sigh with a dreamy grin.

Hailix noticed the sigh then looked at me to see my grin, at which she smiled herself seeing I'm quite pleased at the sight before me. "I take it you're in a better mood now?" She asked with a good guess of my next answer. "Ooohh hell yes. I'll be in a even better one if I'm able to try one of these weapons." I stated with a grin.

"Well...we do have a firing range." She noted with her cheery demeanor. Just then we began to her faint humming that slowly gotten louder as did the sound of footsteps follow shortly but quietly. "The fuck?" Psycho questioned as we heard the sounds. My thoughts exactly...

I turned around and watched the doorway to see moments later that it was Nami that was humming as she walked in. "Hey guys." She said casually with a just as casual wave hello.

"Hey Nami." Hailix replied. Nami then looked at me with a smile. "So. How do you like the armory?" She asked with a slightly smug grin as the song Savior by Rise Against began it's round.

"Me'sa likey. Very much." I replied with a small grin. "And I hear you guys have a shooting range on board. Das true?" I asked quite curious.

She chuckled with a grin. "Oh yeah, and it's the best range I've used." She stated.

I raised a quizzical brow. "And how many have you been through?" I asked suddenly curious to the fact.

She gave a thoughtful look for a few moments, then answered. "Abouuut....sixteen or so?"

I gave a rather surprised look. "Damn. did yo-"

"No, I didn't destroy...all of them." Nami said showing a little embarrassment in her smile.

I narrowed my eyes, Then raising my brows and doing a slight head tilt and nod, to say "alright then". "So um, how the hell did you destroy said ranges?" I asked, mentioned curiousity rising.

"Those are stories for another time." She stated. Then gave an expression I'd guess saying she just remembered something. "Speaking of it. Want to help test out some of the weapons? Some of them haven't been shot in a while, so I want to see if I need to tune them up." She asked. I gave a bug eyed surprised look. Oh sweet mother of christ. "You know-" I began then looked at Hailix for a moment then back at Nami, then continued.

"I might help on that." I then looked at Hailix again. "Well, I was going to show that next anyways. We'll see you there in a few minutes Nami." Hailix said then began walking out. I had an enthused smile plastered on my face at the prospect that I'm going to go shooting, since I haven't been able to go to the range in months.

I do think I'm going to like being here. I thought rather happy at the moment. "And I'm definitely liking some of the crew so far, especially Nami right now!" Psycho said as I imagined a grin on his face.

So am I Psycho I agreed.

"To the range then." Hailix said, sporting a small grin, then began moving again.

"Hiho hiho to the range ve go!" I said a little more enthusiastically with a grin as I happily followed suit.

It took a while to get there passing multiple rooms along the way, as well as getting a few looks shot at me from some of the other crew members, though they weren't bad looks...which I noticed so far just consisted of women. As we walked, I had the feeling that this ship was fairly large as me and Hailix walked on.

Then a few minutes later we made it to a large room. It was pretty big, though I saw some shimmers down the range itself, and noticed some of the targets, they seemed to look like regular targets. But I saw a little holographic shimmer. Which I furrowed my brows while going wide eyed. Is this a type of Holographic range? I questioned as the song In the end by Linkin Park played.

Hailix outstretched her arm to the range in a sense of dramatics "This William. Is our range, very advanced holo structure technology that's used in military ranges across the galaxy! They can construct anything you want to shoot at." Hailix said with a proud smile. I blinked at the sight with wide eyes of interest intertwined with pleasant surprise.

"At first you had my curiosity, but now you have my full attention." I stated as I stared at this shooting range. Hailix chuckled. "I'm glad. Though something will have even more of your full attention in a minute or so." She said looking behind, she saw Nami carrying several cases while she sported a grin. Hailix looked back at me as I still stared off at the range. "Does it have a battle situation reconstruction matrix?" I asked rather enthused so far. Hailix gave a surprised look of me asking of something like this. "Of sorts." She said simply, though, she didn't entirely knew what I was talking about.

I started grinning darkly. I'm starting to love this place! I thought starting to get gleeful.

"Oh indeed." Vlad said agreeing rather greatly.

I turn to her with a raised brow. "And what might-" I began then saw some movement to my right then looked at said direction to see Nami with many weapons that are placed on what seems like those flat bed carts you'd see in someplace like Costco, though it hovered along behind her. "Oh my sweet mother of god!" I continued now with widened eyes and surprised expression that a moment later turned into the most gleeful of grins.

"Oh yeah, we're going to have some fun today!" Nami said with a smile as she held a energy rifle of sorts on her shoulder.

"You know, this place isn't going to be so bad...at all." Psycho said.

I'm starting to think that too Psycho. I thought in agreement as Nami walked up to us. "Follow me, I know a good spot." She said making a follow motion with her head as she walked on to the left of me and Hailix as the carry platform followed her close behind. "Whelp, time to practice my aim." I said in a rather happy tone as I then followed after a moment, Hailix just decided to follow, then continue the tour after this session of shooting.

"Well, he'll need the practice anyways." Hailix thought as she followed me.

Hi ho Hi ho a shooting we will go! I thought pleased about the next happening.

It took us a few minutes to get to this spot Nami talked about. "Alright, just up ahead." Nami stated. I looked off ahead and saw something akin to the shooting box (I can't remember what they're called.) at the range me, my mom and some other friends would go to. But this looked rather different for obvious reasons including tech wise.

"Ohhh this is going to be fun." Nami said a note of excitement in her voice, as she placed some of the cases on the table beside the shooting box and pulled out what I thought to be energy pistols of some sort from the look of there designs.

I think we're going to work with either three different weapons. Plasma, laser or kinetic. I noted trying to figure what all I'm going to be shooting.

"So Will, what kind of weapon do you like shooting?" Nami asked rather out of the blue for me.

"Umm...shit...wait. All time or in general?" I asked curious of the question.

"...In general." Nami said as she continued to unpack the weaponry.

"Well, I personally haven't been really able to shoot much." I said a small note of sadness to the answer.

"Well, we're going to fix that. By the way, what have you shot?" Nami asked curious, as Hailix was on a tablet of sorts sitting near us, chucking on something or talking to someone.

"Well, I've shot a 22. ruger model pistol, a 9mm, a 45. and a 44 mag. I've also shot a 20 gauge remington and a 228 hunting rifle..." I noted checking off what I've shot so far.

"Alright then. Let's increase that count shall we?" Nami said then came up to me and gave me a gun, a laser pistol if I'm guessing right. I gave a raised brow of curiousity as I looked over the handgun intrigued by the reinforced look of it's design, as one of it's colors being a gunmetal gray with blue lighting. "That is a Phantom LX-4, It's a plasma based energy pistol. Pretty good stopping power till you're up against a Strontu. All it does is piss it off." Nami pointed out, which the last part spiked my curiosity.

"Okay one sec. What the fuck is a Strontu?" I asked really wanting to know.

"There kind of a four legged reptile that's......like a-well size wise like the Hunter's from that Halo game. But it kind of looks like a creature from a fantasy game." Nami said having a bit of trouble explaining it.

"It's kind of wyvern'esk like the ones from Skyrim but about two times uglier." Hailix said pulling up some of her knowledge on the creature off hand and trying to input some gaming knowledge to help explain.

By which this caused me to raise my brow while I looked at her. "You played Skyrim? Okay, I know this is going to be random, buuut. How much of a gamer are you Hailix?" I asked suddenly curious.

"Weeell...how does twenty different consoles downloaded to the computing matrix of the computer of the rec room with a...let's just say a very high end computer that can run five different instances of Crysis one at max settings at once, while playing something like fallout 4 at the same time on the holoscreen with max settings. Since we're currently using a dual screen system setting." Hailix stated almost matter-of-factly as I stared wide eyed.

"Holy sweet mary mother of fuck almighty!" I said both impressed and surprised.

"How the fuck did you get hardware like that!" I asked incredulously as the song Crash 2.0 from Adventure Club & Dallask Scatter remix began it's round.

"I'd tell you but you wouldn't really know of anything I'm talking about." Hailix said a little sheepishly at which I did a small sigh.

"Hailix, tell him about the library." Nami commented which Hailix made an 'oh, yeah that' look.

"Heheh...yeah we have about...-" Hailix began then did a little mental count. "Sixteen thousand games and counting." She finished with a accomplished smile. At which I bug eyed hearing the number of video games.

"Je-sus!" I said my voice raising volume a few notes. "How much storage do you have on that computer!" I asked.

"...About...six hundred and seventy nine zetabytes, with two hundred petaflops computation of other systems." She said oh so casually with a smile, which caused me to bugeye and kind of do a cringe of sorts of surprise and shock.

"Good-fuck woman! I only heard of a supercomputer on my planet just having about forty petabytes!" I stated pleasantly shocked.

Hailix just giggled as she watched my reaction. "From how quick your people develop your tech, you should already have this by now." She said almost matter-of-factly.

"Well, blame the outlandish stupidity, wars, major asshated dick monkeys of our varying governmental systems, money whores and the whole lot of other fuckery as well of the major drug based dumbassery. Including the pussy footing twats in congress." I listed with contempt from earth's current jackassery.

Nami and Hailix looked at each other from that comment then they looked at me. "Good point." Nami finally said. Then keyed in for some basic targets in for me and her. "Alright Will, you'll have the target on the right, and I'll have the one on the left." She said after picking up another energy pistol of some sort. Ohhhh....so many weapons I want to know of... I thought gleefully as she brought up the pistol to aim, then fired at the target several times a moment later. I saw the tight grouping of if I were to guess, two or three inches in diameter.

"Good grouping." I complemented since the shots were from about fourteen or so meters away. She looked at me with a smile. "Thanks. How about you show me yours." She said. Subconsciously I took this as a challenge. "Alrighty then. Just give me a sec." I said as I pulled out my phone quickly skipping to a good song. Sweet dreams by Marilyn Manson...Gooood. I thought darkly with a grin as I put my other other earbud on as I slowly bobbed my head.

I brought up the Phantom with a grin in a teacup grip (That's actually a way to hold it) And steadied my head bobbing and took aim as I began to zone from my music as I closed my eyes. Concentration mode... Was the thought that passed my mind as it sharpened, as my eyes opened and widened as my vision sharpened as well with a demented tinted malice grin. A moment later I fired at the target, shots half a second from each other. The sounds from each shot making my skin prickle with the dark tones of the music. Nine shots later I stopped, forcing the psychotic side of me to dim down with my face going somewhat neutral.

I heaved a slow heavy sigh through my nose as I went back to "normal". I pulled my earbud out enough so it hung over my ear and looked at Nami as she held a grin on her face. As she brought my target closer for us to see it better. I had five in the chest, two where each lung would be and one in the heart, then the other four in the head. "Good shots on the vitals." She complemented.

"Thanks, I been telling people I shoot better with my music." I said as I looked at the target impressed with my work.

Nami grinned. "Seems like it. So what do you think of the Phantom?" Nami asked curious of my impressions on the energy Pistol. "Had a hell of a lot less kick than I expected. Had kind of the kick between a 9mm and a 45." I admitted. "And I like the feel of the grip, quite comfortable to hold and really conforms to the hand. Plus the sound it makes from firing just sends me goosebumps." I explained happily. Then a thought came to mind.

"What's it's max stopping power?" I suddenly asked, which surprised Nami slightly, then she took a moment to think, trying to remember.

"If I remember correctly..." She began as Hailix on the other side of me began to bring up the stats of the Pistol as she waited. "It can bring down something like a Gigalith." She said from off the top of her head. "Huh, interesting, and if I remember correctly, they have a very hard stone hide." I commented.

"About two stages down from earth's diamonds." Hailix said catching my attention.

"Really? Interesting." I noted actually intrigued.

"Oh, hey Will. Check the side of the Phantom." Nami said, which confused me a little, at which I complied with the added curiousity on my part. Then raised a brow seeing the switch that looks like the one for select fire. And with each select point had an image, about five different images. One with the no sound symbol with the computer volume image with a X on it. Then the four others. Wait...these look familiar...they look like the elemental images on the borderlands weapons- I thought cutting myself off. Oh my mother of god can they actually do that shit! I thought surprised. "Are these settings of what I think they are?" I asked making sure.

"Yep, elemental state alternator substrates." Nami answered proudly.

"Oh my god this just turned into Borderlands." I said in a note of sadistic glee.

"Now that I think about it, that does look like something out of Borderlands." Hailix commented agreeing.

"Good I'm not alone on the thought." I added as I looked at my watch seeing it read 4:47 pm.

Mom and everybody else is probably going batshit right now from that obduction that happened with me. I thought somewhat dejectedly.

"With your mom, it's most likely a fucking manhunt back down there." Psycho added.

Heheh...most likely.

I looked back at Nami. "Hey Nami? Can this range make a holo flesh target?" I asked curiously. Which she looked back at me with a questioning look after popping another shot at the target of hers.

"Um...like a pseudo living target?" She replied not entirely sure of my question.

"With the similarity of the term yes." I replied.

"I got this Nami." Hailix said then went to the firing stand I was at and a holographic keyboard and screen sprang up for her as I looked at her work. Then something surprised me and made me fear a little. Her leaf scytheish arms 'split' for lack of a better term into four thinner versions, moving and bending like fingers. I stared wide eyed with a scrunched brow.

"Well holy fuck. I think we found how she's able to use a keyboard and controller now." Psycho said honestly surprised. Y-Yeah... I thought somewhat unnerved by this. But vaguely interested at the same time. As interesting as that is, that is all sorts of fucking weird. But kind of cool at the same time...but more over on weird...

"Pokemon...we will never fully understand the damn things..." Vlad said somewhat bewildered. The song Narcissistic cannibal by Korn came up on my phone.

"Alright...let's bring you up...then grab you from here. Place this to that...then we bring the tangibility up. Then select the skiiiin, aaaand here it is." Hailix said turning her head to the range while her...'hands' formed back. "Well there you go Will." Hailix said looking at me with a smile. Then it turned to confusion as she saw my look of bewilderment.

"What? Is something wrong?" Hailix asked, confused and concerned she did something to wrong me somehow.

"No...not really. Besides the fact that I didn't know that Leavannys could, do what the hell you just did." I stated rather bluntish.

She cocked her head slightly more confused then did a 'oh wait a second' expression. Then looked at the keyboard then looked at her scythe arm doing what she did moments before making her blade arm into sort of like fingers. Then realized "Oh! You mean making my arm able to split into bendable duplicates?" She asked with a raised brow of sorts switching the morphing of her blade arm to the duplicates several times for emphasis.

"Uhhhmm...yeah...?" I said my voice raising pitch a tad.

"Oh, that then. As far as I know I'm either the only one that can do this or just some lucky few...or unlucky whichever way you want to look at it." She stated. Then she looked at me. "What do you make of it. I won't get offended if you say it's weird or something." Hailix said with a small smile.

I looked at her scythe arm/'hand' and looked at her in her eyes. "In brutal honesty-" I began as she tensed up, trying not to let it be visible of her tense up. "In some aspects it's unnerving. But, it's rather intriguing as well. In the most part of the fact." I continued with a small smile.

This took Hailix by surprise it seemed to me. "So, it's not that weird for you?" She asked curious.

"Well not entirely. But mostly, it's interesting in brutal honesty." I added.

"Good choice of words." Vlad complimented me.

Thanks...Oohh...this is going to be a very interesting turn in my life... I thought, in dread and a little excitement.

"Fuck yeah it is!" Psycho added with a chuckle.

"You know, that's actually been the nicest comment I've had about this." Hailix said being honest." Surprise also showed on Nami as well. "You're just getting on everyone's good side today aren't you?" Nami said with a sly smile.

"Best thing to do when you're with people that could be considered alien by a good chunk of the population, you just met and know little of." I said in slight automation as I realized in mid sentence.

"Hm, fair point." Hailix commented with a nod.

Then I noticed a target in the corner of my vision, I turned to look at it. To see a man I have resisted to throat punch and resisted to grind his balls into the concrete.

"Oh hey! It's twatwaffle!" Psycho said happily already seeing where this is going to go.

"How the hell did they know of this bastardized bag of useless dick tips...?" Vlad said somewhat suspicious and confused as the song Flavour by Itro came up.

I looked at the holo target furrowing my brows in over boiled irritation for the target skin Hailix put up. Hailix began to give a concerned look seeing my obvious irritation at the target.

Though, with my look of irritation. A demon's grin began to form on my lips. Nami saw the grin and rose a confused and worried eyebrow, Then she looked at Hailix who exchanged a glance with her then both looked back at me.

"Hey Nami? Is something wrong with Will? I'm sensing a large burst of malicious energy in your area." Zilnia asked Nami through a telepathic link.

"I don't know, Hailix brought up a target for him and put a skin on it. At first he looked pretty irritated at it, then he began to do this unnerving grin. Kind of getting creeped out by it honestly." Nami explained.

"That doesn't sound good." Zilnia said getting concerned.

"Oh. Wait, he's doing something." Nami said.

Looks like I get to kill Roy...well not actually. Oh well. I thought darkly as I felt the mental grin of malice from my voice of Psychosis.

I raised the Phantom lx-4 at the Roy skinned target. But before I shot at the target I quickly brought out my phone, quickly skipping a few songs before Finger eleven's Drag you down began to play, as my grin grew with more of a psychotic note. I began shooting with the guitar riffs as I began doing my demented giggle, as I fired at the holo target of Roy. A piece of shit over the top tool of a man that's been at my house for too god damn long. Everyone fucking hates him.

I was shooting all over the body, from the feet up. From the shoulders down. As well as shots to the face. Not even his daddy bags got out of my wrath. "Hehehehehehe! Die, you son of a fuckwad. Die you son of a motherfucking ballbusting cockblasting shit weisel!" I said with clenched teeth as I continued to shoot with a malice dripping demonic grin. "Die-die-die-die-die-die-die-die-die-dieee!" I said with each gleeful shot.

This side of me surprised both Nami and Hailix. And myself a little.

"I think he lost his shit a little bit." Nami said to Zilnia causing her to be confused.

"Um...how so?" She questioned.

"Well, he's gotten colorful with his language. And he's going 'die-die-die' over and over as he's shooting at this target." Nami explained as she watched me continue to shred the target, with deadly accuracy.

"Could it be that the skin on the target is someone he knows?" Zilnia prodded trying to understand what's going on with me as I continued with my demented giggling.

"With the way he's insulting the target I think so. And someone he really hates." Nami replied.

"As in how hated?"

"Um...well for starters, he's destroying the target rather thoroughly two, the colorful language from earlier, and three, the loss of where the targets balls would be." Nami said with a slight grimace from the last part.

"...ouch..."

"Yeah......wait, I think he's almost done." Nami said as my fire rate was slowing down. I slowly stopped after five more shots. I let my arms fall to my sides. Then heaved a heavy drawn out rasping sigh. "God damn I've been wanting to do that." I said a low growl to my voice as I eyed the target, admiring the damage I've done. I then popped my neck getting a small kink out of it. I felt a lot of pent up rage release through that unload of gun fire.

Nami then caught my attention. "Hey Will, you alright?" She asked sounding somewhat concerned after my little psychotic release.

I looked at her with a bright grin with my voice returning to normal. "I feel fucking fantastic." I said happily with a laugh that still had an underlying layer of demented enjoyment of the experience. "I thank you greatly for having me out here. You have no idea how much good that's done me just now." I added.

"I think I can tell." Nami replied with a smile.

"Oh good mother of god I needed that." I added looking back at the target with a grin.

"I think we both can see that. Since you minced the target." Hailix added.

"Well he's fine now." Nami relayed to Zilnia.

"...I'll have to take a deep look later... Just to see how bad his mental state is." Zilnia said dreading the encounter to go deeper into my horrid mind.

"I can tell you right now that, that is not going to be a good idea for you." Nami said with a small chuckle.

"Ugh...don't remind me." Zilnia said, not looking forward to the experience at all while Nami chuckled.

"Alrighty then, ready for the next spot of the tour." I said in a note of cheeriness to Hailix as she smiled. I then looked at Nami. "Thanks for inviting me for the stress relief." I said as Nami showed a knowing smile.

"No problem, I like having someone to shoot with." Nami said cheerfully.

"Hell, in that case hit me up on the next time that you want to come back to shoot together. I'm game for it, since I never got to shoot often." I said with a note of cheer to my tone as I smiled.

"Well that's going to change." Nami said with a chuckle.

"I look forward to it." I said happily.

"Alright, Infirmary is up next on our list." Hailix said as she began walking to the corridor that led to this shooting chamber. I looked at here with an odd look as I trailed behind her a few steps behind. Sudden dread to the next destination. Then a question began to boil in my mind that quickly became about impossible to hold. Then the song Take this by Gemini Syndrome began its turn.

"Please tell me I'm not getting some sort of examination." I asked suddenly concerned for my well being. Hailix looked over to me with a disarming smile. "Well if anything our doctor Aiz will try to take a blood sample. Other then that she isn't going to give you a battery of tests if that's what is worrying you." She explained calmly then looked back forwards leading the way. Lovely...I'm at least glad I won't have to do any awkward as hell tests at least... I thought relieved a small margin. Though by all means not up for the blood draw.

As we walked we neared another view port to the spatial region. It still baffled me that I'm actually in space. I stood there, looking into the voided depths the stars called home. Then I saw earth. It's like they say...you really can't beat the view. I...am the youngest human to enter space...it's amazing to think...but...fuuuck man. It's just...ugh...I can't really describe it. Odd I want to call it? I thought, somewhat contemplating my position of all this sudden crap.

"Fuckery is very nigh in this journey." Psycho said as I continued to look off to the planet I call home, then looking off to the reaches that is the rest of the universe.

"Already feeling homesick?" Hailix said as she came back over to me.

"Not really...just...adjusting. Never have I thought in my life that I'd be able to actually be in space. Never really wanted to in that matter." I replied honestly not looking away from the view. I never did wanted to go into space, I was happy just being on the ground. Mainly because my anxiety and my paranoia are obsessed with tormenting me on the dangers of such environments like space.

"Really?" Hailix asked a little curious.

"Anxiety and paranoia. I swear they have a fetish with tormenting me with the dangers I know in environments like space." I explained to her looking down a degree from the window, my face taking a more somber tone to it. "Makes it impossible for me to actually enjoy going about with the thought of traveling in that kind of area, same with flying. It's a fucking miracle I haven't had a fucking mental breakdown from this from the two." I continued, my internal shaking beginning to vibrate me as I looked on.

It was a few moments before Hailix spoke again. "Are you still okay?" She asked almost timidly, her cheery tone and smile now showing concern.

I looked up at the viewport again. "I don't bloody know..." I said going into my scottish accent at that moment.
