The goblin gang trekked through the bog, stomachs hungry and tempers, well, flare-y. But it was soon that they reached Delarmir, a town much bigger than Gobbleham; and more diverse at that. Walking down the streets the goblins were wowed by the hustle and bustle of town life, looking at shops, stands, and houses.
Passing a bakery, Hoogan entered swiftly, his brothers not noticing his sneakiness. Or perhaps they were too distracted in trying to figure out where the Toad might actually be in the bustling town.
“Hey guys, whats up?”
Heegan, Bleegan, and Bloogan turned and saw Hoogan standing there, munching on some bread; thankfully not speaking with his mouth full.
“Where in the world did you get that?!” Heegan exclaimed, completely confused.
“Most likely from a bakery, dummy. That's where they make bread.” Bleegan replied.
“Here, have some.”
The resourceful goblin shared the bread with his brothers and recounted the glorious tale of how he obtained it. After recounting the fantastic tale of how he haggled the price down and the old lady gave his poor cheeks a squeeze; barely escaping with his life. With food in their bellies they sat down by the town well to discuss their next plan of action.
While they chatted an elderly man walked up to them, tapping his cane on the cobblestones. His voice was aged and sounded like it was full of wisdom.
“Welcome to Delarmir, young ones.”
Heegan nudged Hoogan with his elbow, gripping his stick. “Who’s this guy? You bring him along?”
“No, did you?” He replied, shrugging his shoulders.
“Now what brings you youngsters here? Let me guess, you're looking for the Enchanted Toad.” Said the old man with a sparkle in his eye.
Bloogan’s little eyes lit up, full of excitement. “Yes! How did you know?!”

The old man chuckled and smiled at the little goblin. “I know many things, little one. Like how you will need this on your journey- now don't read it just yet.” He handed Bleegan an aged piece of parchment and his cane; a short branch gnarled at the top.
“Wha? Thank you?” Bleegan said, a bit puzzled but appreciative.
“Now listen carefully, young ones. The Toad you seek has not been seen for ages, why, even as I was your age I looked far and wide across the town with my dear friends. And we were always fruitless in our searches, though now that I am old and wise I realize why we failed.”
Hoogan cut in, “why? Why?”
The old man laughed and said “because we looked around the town and not under! This town is old! Older than the legend of course. This town has been built on top of the old town of Delarmir, the streets becoming the sewers. But I'm far too old to trek about down there, but you are young and spry. You will do far better than I. The maintenance cover is right over there, there's a ladder leading down.”
The goblin gang thanked the old man and went right on over to the manhole, but not before they heard one last thing.
“Recite that in your mind until you are ready! It will aid you in your time of need.” And then the man disappeared into the crowd.
