《The Charleston Avenue Flower Shop》12. Bank Heist

Gunshots sang out in the lobby of a bank. “Nobody move and no one will get hurt,” a masked man warned. The bank teller reached for the button, but a bullet pierced through the line before she could trip the alarm. “Uh-oh,” Lisa thought. “This is the police! We have the bank surrounded, Creator Chaos,” a voice came over the megaphone. “Well, they were fast,” Charles acknowledged, sauntering towards the safe unbothered. An officer tried to move forward, but machine gunshots flurried between the bank and outside. “Shit,” an officer murmured, “he brought his sniper.” “What is it that you want, Creator Chaos?” a negotiator came over the megaphone. “The bank manager,” Chaos said simply. “Why the bank manager?” the negotiator inquired. “While my safecracker is an expert, we were not able to swipe the man’s fingerprints nor get a good read on his eyes for the retinal scan on this safe.” “We can’t do that, Creator Chaos,” the negotiator began. Lisa thought, “He’s going to be so mad if he finds me here. I mean, I was making my deposit for my payment, so he shouldn’t be mad, but I know he will be.” She tried to crawl away. Lisa wasn’t sure where exactly she was going to go. Lector had the perimeter on lock, and there’s no way Lisa would know if Lector could see well enough not to shoot her. Victor was guarding the back entrance, but it would look bad if he let a hostage escape. Every hostage would all break for it. Charles was also not an option. “Will you sit still?” a man whispered, “Don’t try to be a hero.” “Believe me, sir,” Lisa’s smile was strained, “I’m not trying to be a hero. I’m trying to make sure they have no clue I’m here.” The guy rolled his eyes and piped back down. He was not about to get shot talking to her. “If you don’t, I’ll start shooting hostages. This hostage will be my first target,” Chaos grabbed the one person that was moving in the crowd of people. He went pale when he saw who he had picked up. Lisa chuckled nervously, waving at him as she dangled by her jacket. “Okay, maybe not starting with this one,” Chaos gulped. “No, no. You picked me first,” Lisa argued, “it’s only fair that I’m the first hostage that gets shot.” “Have you lost your mind?” Chaos shouted. “No, I’m just being practical here. You’re working, so you can’t play favorites,” Lisa crossed her arms, still dangling over the ground. Another officer tried to go in while he was distracted, but shots rang out from a different direction. “Do you not realize that I’m not shooting to injure? I’m shooting to kill,” Chaos explained slowly. Lisa nodded, “I’d say I’ve lived a good life. Awfully short, but a good one.” “Why are you so impossible?” Chaos lamented, facepalming. “Is— there a problem, Creator Chaos,” the negotiator questioned as they all looked at each other confused. A familiar laugh rang out, “You are an idiot. You picked your girlfriend as your first hostage?” “Shut up, Jet! You don’t get to talk to him like that,” Lisa glared at him. “You do realize he shoots to kill, right?” The Jet blinked. “I know! And I’ve lived a good life, albeit a short one,” Lisa crossed her arms and nodded. The Jet sighed, “I don’t particularly feel like saving you, but—“ The Jet began to use his speed for rushing in, but he slowed down considerably until he stood frozen. “What the hell?” The Jet was trying to move his body. “Did you think I didn’t expect you to show up?” Chaos shook his head then turned back to Lisa, “You are not going to be my first hostage.” “Yes, I am. You picked me first,” Lisa asserted. “Lisa—“ Chaos began. “Boss, I cracked the safe, and the drones from the other banks have already made it back to base. I’m going to send this one back. Victor should be coming around with the car in five,” Charles announced in his earpiece. “Copy,” Chaos responded. “Hi!” Lisa chimed. “Boss— is that Lisa,” Charles asked. “We are all going to talk about this later!” Chaos thundered. Charles rushed out and managed to get into the getaway car, but the Jet jumped between Chaos and the vehicle. Victor immediately drove off as instructed if one of them did not manage to make it into the car. The Jet still wasn’t fast enough to get Chaos and go for the getaway car. “What are we going to do now?” Lisa questioned as Chaos prepared for a fight. “WE aren’t doing anything,” Chaos pulled out his specialty cold whip and electrified shield built specifically for fights with the Jet. “Well, the hostages all ran away, and if you don’t beat the Jet, we’re screwed,” Lisa shrugged. Chaos gave a shaky breath. She was right. Because of the Jet’s big mouth, she’s incriminated in this, too. Fortunately, the Jet was a big enough showboat that Chaos could subdue him, then grab Lisa, and bolt out of there. They were a sufficient distance away for the police or the Jet not to determine where they went. Chaos dropped Lisa unceremoniously against the wall of a parking garage and slammed his hand on the wall by her face. “What the hell were you doing in there?” Chaos fumed. “Depositing my earnings for the month,” Lisa answered simply. “Don’t you know banks are bigger thieves to the public than— you know what, never mind,” Chaos yelled. “Yeah, but if I get robbed, and I have cash in the store outside of business hours, I’d be shit out of luck. At least with a bank card, I can cancel before the thief can spend the cash,” Lisa shrugged. “Lisa,” Chaos took another shaky breath, “You know I shoot to kill, right?” “Yep.” “And yet, you still were intent on being my first hostage. Why?” “Because you picked me first!” “Because you were the one person who was moving when we all very clearly said not to move!” Chaos argued. Lisa muttered, “I didn’t want you to be mad at me for being there when you were trying to work.” “You didn’t want me to be mad at you? Are you serious?” Chaos was incredulous. Lisa nodded. “You weren’t scared?” Chaos asked flatly. “Yes. I was terrified, in fact,” Lisa replied. “Didn’t seem like it,” Chaos raised his voice, “do you not have any concept of danger?” When Lisa didn’t reply, he took a good look at her. Lisa was trembling and very obviously trying to hold back tears. The adrenaline wore off. “I’m sorry, Spencer. I didn’t mean to,” Lisa sniffled, wiping her eyes, “I didn’t mean to make today more difficult for you.” Now he was starting to feel like an ass. Everything Lisa did today was because she didn’t want to get in the way of his job. When he thought about it, her insistence on being the first hostage was likely to protect his reputation. He was a villain, after all, a cold-blooded killer. “She said that I can’t play favorites,” Chaos thought. “Damn it, Lisa,” Chaos pulled her into his arms and stroked her hair, “You didn’t have to go that far.” Lisa just wrapped her arms around him and buried her face into his chest. When she calmed down some, Lisa looked up at him. “Dangerous little flower, what am I going to do with you?” Chaos gave a small smile. “You could kiss me,” Lisa murmured. Chaos blinked, “What?” “I think I earned at least one little one,” Lisa pouted, wiping her face. “Right now?” Lisa nodded. Chaos blushed and scratched the back of his neck, “Okay. If that’s all, you want—“ Lisa nodded furiously. “You’re something else. You know that?” He leaned down, pressing his lips to hers. When he broke away, he looked down at Lisa brushing a strand of hair from Lisa’s face. “This is why I don’t do this,” Chaos thought, “I never want to stop after just one.” He kissed her again, deeply. Lisa draped her arms around his shoulders, Chaos wrapping his arms around Lisa’s waist. They each parted their lips, tongues meeting. There was a level of desperation as they held onto one another. The kind that two people feel when they realize they’ve almost lost each other forever. When they released their kiss, they panted, looking at each other. Chaos kissed her cheek and laid a trail of kisses down her neck. Lisa made a soft sound that sent a shiver down his spine. “Spencer,” Lisa moaned. She tilted her head back as his lips brushed down her neck, continuing a path of soft kisses over her shoulder. “Is it Christmas?” Lisa thought to herself, enjoying the feeling of his lips caressing her skin. Chaos met her lips again, a little more aggressively. “Her little moans are driving me crazy,” he thought. Lisa gave his lip a little nibble when they broke the kiss this time. Then she traced kisses along his jawline down his neck. Chaos gasped when she bit him and shuddered as she trained her tongue over the area. “Biting, huh?” Lisa gave him a smoldering look as she pressed her hands to his chest. Lisa undid a few of the buttons, tracing her fingers over the lines of his muscles. “Lisa,” Chais groaned as her breath grazed his neck. The more aggressive they got with each other, the more vocal Lisa and Chaos became. The rest of the world disappeared. The only beings in existence were Lisa and Chaos. “Boss! We found you!” Lector exclaimed, relieved. “It wasn’t that difficult, Lector. We just had to follow the sounds of two people who have no business fucking in public,” Charles declared flatly, rolling his eyes. “Damn it,” Chaos grunted, touching his forehead to Lisa, “That's not what we were doing.” “Well, you could have fooled me. Though your lack of restraint was what got you caught with your pants down-- literally,” Charles grimaced. “Oh?” Lisa bit her lip, raising her eyebrows. Chaos flushed and cleared his throat, “We should probably get out of here.” Lisa nodded, leading Chaos to the car by the hand. Lisa and Chaos jumped in the back seat of the getaway car. “The two of you can continue at home base,” Charles drove off. “We need to take Lisa home,” Chaos crossed his arms. “Awe,” Lisa pouted. “Unfortunately, we can’t take Lisa home. Because of the Jet’s big mouth, the heat is hanging around Lisa’s place,” Victor sighed. “I hate that guy,” Chaos clenched his fists. “Maybe you should be grateful to him this time because you’ll have company tonight,” Charles was trying to stifle his laughter. “Charles, if you don’t—“ Chaos began. “It’s okay,” Lisa confessed softly, “I don’t want to be alone anyway.” “Are you doing okay, Lisa?” Charles asked, “We did almost have to kill you today.” “I’m okay, Charles!” Lisa smiled and nodded. “This is why I like Lisa. It’s like she’s the bravest lady I know,” Lector pat her on the shoulder. “Yeah, Lector, I guess you’re right,” Chaos squeezed her hand as they made their way to the base. She smiled up at him, causing him to flinch and blush. — When they arrived in the foyer of the skyscraper, Chaos bellowed, “All right, boys, we have a visitor so act somewhat decent.” Lisa was looking around in awe. There were aspects of the area that indicated this used to be an abandoned industrial building. Chaos had to have added upper floors and differing levels of basement area as Chaos Corps grew. “Boss!” a woman whined as a couple of others swooped in to drape themselves over Chaos, knocking Lisa out of the way, “Are you hurt? We saw you went a round with that Jet bastard.” Lisa was stunned. One of the women glared at her as they were checking Chaos over. Charles whispered, “Don’t worry about them, Lisa. Lisa? Awe, shit…” Lisa grabbed the chick who glared at her by the hair. “Want to look at me like that again?” Lisa glared down at her before throwing her aside and then hip tossing the one that decided to hang all over Chaos. “I don’t know who you bitches are, but I’ve had a pretty shit day,” Lisa cracked her neck. “Lisa?” Chaos grabbed her shoulder, but she shot him a glare that made him back off. One of the girls got up and lunged at Lisa. Lisa hit her with a right hook to the face knocking her back. The other two got up and charged her. Chaos stepped in the middle. “That is enough,” Chaos’s voice boomed. “But, boss, that stupid bitch—“ Chaos glowered, “I said enough.” The girls trembled, “Yes, boss.” Veronica stepped up, “The boss doesn’t hit females, but I do. Try anymore shit, and I’ll check you faster than Charles can drive the SUV.” “That’s pretty damn fast,” someone nodded in the crowd. “Anyone else want to act a fucking fool in front of my girlfriend?” Chaos bellowed. The crowd who gathered around to watch the fight quickly dissipated. The girls went to say something to Lisa, but Veronica bucked up, which caused them to scurry off with everyone else. Chaos turned around, “I’m sorry, Lisa. Lisa! Why are you crying?” “Y-you just,” a smile burst across her face, “You just told everyone I’m your girlfriend!” “Well, yeah. I mean,” Chaos stammered awkwardly, “Oof!” Lisa hugged him hard, “I’m so happy!” “That was certainly a drastic change for someone who almost died and fought three people,” Chaos ran his fingers through her hair, impressed. “Say it again!” Lisa smiled up at him, tears still streaming down her face. “What? That you’re my girlfriend?” Lisa squealed, practically jumping up and down. “I’ve never seen you so excited about anything,” Chaos chuckled, “Little flower, what am I going to do with you?” Lisa smirked at him, “I have a couple of ideas. Some of them include perhaps— picking up where we left off?” Chaos blushed, “Ah, yes. Well—“ “Where is that bravado from the parking garage?” Lisa continued smirking at him. A passerby doing some work said, “Man. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the boss blush like that.” Chaos laughed awkwardly, “Let’s continue this conversation in my room.” “Ooo! Okay!” Lisa’s face brightened as she held his hand, “Lead the way!” He looked down at their hands, “S-sure!” “Where did that bravado go?” Chaos wondered to himself as he punched the button on the elevator. “Wow! This is a pretty good number of floors! So many basement levels,” Lisa examined the buttons on the inside, “did you build all of this?” “Well, the first couple of floors were all Charles, Victor, Lector, and I. Then, as our crew grew, we were able to build more onto it,” Chaos bragged. “There are a lot of people here! You are the boss of all of them?” Lisa marveled. “I sure am,” Chaos smiled, “Lisa?” “Your smile—“ Lisa looked at him in wonder. “What about it?” Chaos uneasily asked. “I knew you were handsome, Spencer, but that smile. Can I see more of it?” Lisa requested then stammered, “Only if you want to. Don’t force any for my sake.” “Little flower, are you blushing?” Chaos raised his eyebrows. “No!” Chaos smirked at her. “Okay, maybe! Don’t you use my face against me!” Lisa reprimanded. “Sure thing, little flower,” Chaos laughed. Lisa couldn’t help but laugh too. They stepped out of the elevator in front of what appeared to be the only door on the entire top floor. Chaos pulled out a key and opened the door signaling Lisa to step inside. “Well, damn! You can fit at least three of my shop in here!” Lisa exclaimed, looking around. “Too much?” Chaos began, but Lisa had already excitedly started poking around. “This TV is massive! Look at this couch! Oh my god, the walk-in closet is the size of my bedroom! Look at all these shoes! This bathtub looks heavenly! Oh good, the toilet is normal. I was going to poke fun at you if it was gold or something,” Lisa excitedly ran around. “Practicality and comfort for a place where all you pretty much do is… well, you know,” Chaos chuckled, looking at how excited she was. “You can fit at least eight people in this bed! How do you not get lost getting on and off this thing! Ooo! Is this you as a baby? Is this your mom? She’s pretty,” Lisa picked up the picture on the nightstand. “Yes, that’s my mom and me,” Chaos’s smile didn’t reach his eyes, “We can visit her grave some time, sure. She’s buried next to papa and memaw.” “Oh, Spencer... I can tell she loved you a lot. Your smile is just like hers,” Lisa marveled. “Yeah,” Chaos sat down next to her. “And you had such chubby cheeks! Adorable!” Lisa looked up at him, smiling. “Yeah… well… Ow!” Lisa pinched his cheek, “Still adorable!” “Widdle fwower, cut dat out,” Chaos grabbed her hand. “Sorry, obviously I couldn’t do it then, so I had to now!” Lisa giggled. Chaos rolled his eyes, “Well, there’s not as much chunk there, silly.” “I know, but still,” Lisa held his face and kissed him, “I couldn’t help myself.” “You are something. You know that?” Chaos shook his head. “So… I noticed that your mom looks like her dad, by the way,” Lisa began. “Yeah, that always made memaw a little jealous if I remember that correctly… Lisa? Why are you misty-eyed now?” Her voice quivered, “it’s so cute how your grandma is memaw!” “Is that tear-worthy?” Lisa nodded as Chaos grimaced and shook his head. He couldn’t help but chuckle, “It seems that you have a question. “I don’t know if I should,” Lisa looked serious, remembering their encounter with Dave. “Why not?” “It was ever so slight, but the way your face changed just now, I think it answered my question,” Lisa put her hand on his. “That obvious?” “Well, it wouldn’t be to the average person, but I spend a lot of time admiring and studying this face, especially because you’re so easy to tease. I noticed it,” Lisa squeezed his hand. “Well, you are one of the very few people who are brave enough to look me in the eye,” Chaos confessed. “Right, CEO of giant villain organization,” Lisa noted, “and yet…” she pinched his cheeks again, “You are just too damn cute!” “Wisa!” Lisa hugged him and cuddled his face with hers. He put a hand to his face, “You are so— I don’t even know. I’m supposed to be scary!” “Nah,” Lisa ran her fingers through his hair, “everyone else might think Creator Chaos is scary but isn’t Creator Chaos’s girlfriend supposed to be an exception?” Chaos smiled, “I suppose you’re right. I don’t want anyone I’m intimate with to be afraid of me.” “Good,” Lisa kissed him, “Speaking of intimate.” Chaos looked nervous, “Y-yeah?” Lisa climbed onto him, leaning down to kiss him. Chaos put his hands on her waist, supporting Lisa before moving a hand up her back. Lisa felt a shiver go down her spine as he caressed the back of her neck. Lisa unbuttoned Chaos’s shirt all the way, pushing it away. She leaned down to trace kissed down his neck over his shoulder. A low rumble came from the back of his throat that turned into a moan when she bit him. Chaos pulled Lisa up to meet her lips again. He pushed off her jacket, laying kisses down the front of her throat to her chest. Lisa pulled away, taking off her dress, causing Chaos to turn red. She was wearing lace panties but no bra. “Something wrong?” Lisa asked, brushing her fingers through his hair, “is it that I'm not wearing a bra?” Chaos made an effort to look up at her face, “N-not at all!” “Spencer,” Lisa sighed, “It's not just okay for you to look. You can touch too.” Lisa guided Chaos’s hands up her abdomen until they touched her breasts. She moaned when he gave them a little squeeze. “Not so bad, right?” “There’s not one thing bad about you,” Chaos wrapped arms around Lisa, laying kisses around the curves of her breasts. Lisa brushed her thumbs over Chaos’s cheeks, and her doubts about that last statement fell to the back of her mind as they finally explored each other with reckless abandon.
