《A warm share of happiness》Chapter one

Chapter one
"Brother, Brother lets go the beach next weekend" said Miyu excitedly as she clung onto Shirou's arm before letting go and doing a twirl around Shirou.
"I want to go see the ocean!"
I gave her a blank look while furiously crunching the numbers within my head, did we have enough money? do we have enough time? what about transport? how many people were coming? was it safe? but seeing how excited she was how could I say no. Giving her a big smile I replied " Of course we can, in fact Big brother here just got paid so you could bring as many friends you want."
Without noticing my right hand was suddenly on top of her head, "But you got to earn it though, you have to be a good girl, you need to study hard and do some chores around the house."
Puffing up her face and hitting her chest she said "Don't worry brother I'm a good girl you can count on me."
"I know you are but lets wait and see, in fact you could start now by helping Angelica with the bags of groceries." I shook my head towards the doll no person whom was silently walking beside me, laden with bags of groceries she continued to walk beside me in silence. Giving her a pained look I whispered to her "I'm sorry that I forget the promise I made with you that day, but you don't have to keep this charade up."
"Whatever do you mean master Shirou, I am but a discarded doll. I have no free will of my own, do with me as you please." replied Angelica in a monotone lifeless voice just like a doll.
Anger flared up in me as I heard that statement, she wasn't a doll, no she used to be one but now it was different, she was a person. She should have regained her proper body alongside with her soul just like me.
I wanted to scream at her that she wasn't a doll like she thought, that she was still the same kind person that I once knew so long ago, but reason took hold of me before I snapped at her.
My reason told me that this was a natural reaction, I don't know what she must have gone through but on the day I found Miyu, it was also the day that she had lost her father. She was probably forced to raise her younger brother Julian and little sister Erika from a young age, taking the role of the mother figure despite being only a couple years older than Julian the eldest son and the rightful head of the family. She must have been burdened with a lot, her father's death, the responsibility of being the temporary head, the truth about the Ainsworth's goals and taking care of her siblings.

Yet she never begrudged about that fact, that she couldn't enjoy a normal peaceful life, that she was forced into hardships, after all I could still remember the first time we met and the smile she had at the realisation her little brother had a 'true friend'.
She was content with just being with her family, even if it was in the form of a doll but I took that away from her. Trapped in another world with no way back, with your only companion being your former enemy that has defeated you and took away your hope, and to make matters worse forgotten his promise to you.
... Calming down I could see how she would want to shut down her emotions and go back to being the doll, especially after forgetting what emotions were, to suddenly get them back in the form of pain and loss. Clenching my fist I made a silent oath just like I did on that day, when the last vestiges of my world crumbled around me and just like that one I intend to fulfil it.
Releasing the tension within my fist I gave Angelica a smile "I understand that you might not forgive me, but know this that for now on I shall always be by your side, through sickness and health, through good times and bad, until death do us part I shall always by by your side. After all it is my duty as your fiancee.
For a moment I saw a flicker of emotion appeared within her eyes as I made the oath, but it was gone just as fast as it appeared but still it was a start.
Soon Angelica felt a tug on her arm as Miyu appeared right beside her, holding out her hand she promptly proclaimed " Older sister I'm a good girl so give me those bags." Turning her head she gave me a look that requested permission, giving a nod back I said "Why don't you and older sister go ahead. Older brother still have some matters to deal with."
"Okay brother." taking hold of one of the lighter bags Miyu started to excitedly wave it in a pinwheel motion, causing Angelica to stop her before the items within the bag falls out.
Watching this heartfelt scene with a smile, I started to reminiscence about the past, on the events that allowed us to achieve the happiness that we have now.
"Though they may have been cheap imitations, you still managed to project divine constructs while continuing to sustain this reality marble." said Angelica as she pulled out a handle from a single golden portal that appeared beside her.

"Your very existence is flawed. You may prove to be a hindrance to the last legend we have written and put into motion for humanity. Your irksome ability, your strange use of magecraft, and your abhorrent self-destructive conviction..."
My body tensed as she raised that thing above her head. I needed to do something, or all my efforts so far would be lost. I knew that the moment that swordappeared I couldn't win. Analysing that sword was impossible, let alone reproducing it.
I knew that there was no sword in this world that could hope to match it's true form, but I still had a chance for it was being wielded by a counterfeit. Yet even if it was weakened only the mightiest of holy swords could hope to match it. I searched desperately through the few blueprints that Archer left me yet I couldn't find the one I needed, I couldn't find Excalibur.
"They will be torn to pieces together with your world."
I cant fail here not now. If I was to fail what would happen to my star, what would happen to Miyu. An image of my little sister being fused with the world for all of eternity appeared within my head. NO I refuse to let that happen, if I couldn't find Excalibur then I would just forge one even if the cost was my soul.
As if to answer my oath the world of darkness started to shake uncontrollably, the world itself seemed to be screaming something at me as it started to converge onto a single point and in a flash of light, grasped within my hand was a sword wreathed in darkness. Raising the sword above my head with both hands I poured everything into it, all my prana, my od, and even my reality marble my own soul given form.
"The vortex that turns the stars, this heavenly hell signifies the end of the eve of genesis. Subside with death!"
"The darkest night that covers the stars, devour all that dare seek the hidden stars. Grant them absolute despair!"
"ENUMA ELISH!"
"EREBUS!"
"I'm not dead?" Opening my eyes the first thing I saw was the moon and it's light shining down on me. Mystified I attempted to sort out the situation I was in, going through my memories, the last thing I could recall was my battle with Angelica her sword of 'truth' against my sword of unknown origins.
An image of the battle appeared in my head. Crimson winds in the form of a black and red vortex clashing with a blazing black flame of light causing a distortion within the fabrics of space and time tearing apart the very world itself and thats when my memories stopped.
I must have died, I had sacrificed everything for my star and yet, here I was alive and well in a different world. I felt a slow movement on top of my chest, only now did I realised what must have happened.
"In the end Miyu you were always the one to save me." On top of me was my little sister fast asleep with her hands wrapped around me, my shirt drenched in tears. Raising my hand I stroked her hair and started to mumble a lullaby. She stirred a bit before mumbling "Older brother never leave me again."
Giving a soft smile, I continued this process making sure she was fast asleep before slowly plucking her off and putting her on the grass. Standing up I turned to face my enemy Angelica Ainsworth.
Just like me she was completely healed, yet she gave me this eerie look a look devoid of life and emotions, a look befitting a doll. For some reason seeing that look pained me.
"What am I to do with you Angelica, even you must know you lost, Miyu is no longer the holy grail she must have used the last of her powers to save us." Bringing someone back from the brink of death and repairing their soul is impossible by mortal means, but isn't that what a miracle is, to achieve the impossible.
"I am but a discarded doll. I have no free will of my own, do with me as you please."
"All right, then come along with us." I extended my hand towards her and for a second she hesitated before her hand grasped mine. It was soft.
This time I shall protect this peace of ours, our small share of happiness. "Isnt that right Sakura." I mumbled as I saw an image of a beautiful purple haired girl, she gave me a bright smile before disappearing.
Taking out a checkered scarf I tied it around my head as a bandanna, it was time for the villain to take the scene once more.
"Trace on" Reinforcing my body to the upmost limit I kicked off the ground in a flash, heading towards the closest building.
It was time to check on the sudden disturbance I felt earlier.

The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple.
