Chapter 7
As the clouds cover the sunlight, I lunge fast to the old man. Rotating my hips in mid air, I put all my weight in my right hand and punch the old man’s chest. The old man’s body became a blur, my punch hit nothing but air. A wind disturbance in my back, as fast as I could, I turn around and throw a high kick.
The old man’s right forearm block my kick, gathering another momentum, I turn around again and throw a kick to the old man’s right knee. The wind whistles, there’s a tornado on the feet of the old man and float upwards.
How come that this elve can control the wind? Flapping my wings, I catch up to the floating old man.
There’s an opening, a punch to the old man’s liver but the old man still parried it. I throw combinations, a chop to the old man’s neck, a palm to old man’s chest area, a front kick to the old man’s stomach, a poke to the old man’s eyes and an upward punch to the old man’s manly thing. My attack combinations got parried and deflected.
The old man leans forward, in a blink of an eye, the old man appears on my right side. The old man palm approaching my head fast. My wings flap and flutter to distance myself to the old man.
The old man didn’t go after me, instead, the old man just going downwards while looking at me.
Norman, Don’t do conventional attacks, maximize your advantage, maximize your advantage.
While hovering at a high altitude, I fold my wings, my body falling down fast while looking at the old man. When I’m about to hit the ground, my wings open and glide like a lightning to the old man. The old man’s eyes widen while smiling. The old man’s body move sideways and my right hand hit nothing. As I passed him, I tilt my wings and glide again to the old man.
Focus! Focus!
Everything seems slowed down, my right hand approaching the old man but the old man’s body tilting again sideway.
This is it!
Folding my wings, my acceleration suspended. My whole body gather the momentum and shifted the strength to my right hand.

My right hand is about to hit the old man’s face. Suddenly, a high concentrated amount of wind swirls around the old man's body.
The spherical wind becomes bigger and bigger.
Shit! This will hit me, my body crouches while my forearms covering my head. The concentrated wind burst and my body roll backward.
The ground is shaking, dark clouds are everywhere while there's unending static sound.
Someone’s lifting me up then a sour liquid is poured into my mouth.
The dark clouds are vanishing, my siblings and kara have a worried expression in my front.
They're saying something but I can't hear them. After a few moments, the static sound finally disappeared.
“Big brother!” Arsenio shouted while holding my body.
“Big brother! Are you all right?” Minerva said worriedly,
“Yes, yes, I’m alright,” I said in a low voice and stand up straight.
“Sorry kid, you surprised me back there, I don’t know hand to hand combat can be that lethal.. And you’re last punch is too fast, I don’t have time to activate my other techniques, In our early battle you even tried to hit my..” old man elve Leron said and look at his manly thing. “I will give some compensation because I overdid it, If you’re soul weapon is for close combat, you can make it to a nemesis rank but you’re soul weapon is quite weak and you can’t use the mana energy in your body. Your rank for now is Knight, I will give you this high quality sword as my compensation.” He said and a silver double edge longsword suddenly appears from his hand.
“Senior Leron, how did that sword appear in your hand?” I asked,
“You mean this? This ring can store a few items,” he said and remove a ring from his left hand.
Old man elve Leron gave me four cheap storage rings instead of the sword as a compensation. When my body regain a good condition, we follow kara to give us a certificate of membership. After a few minutes, we arrived at the main hall of their castle and sit in front of the receptionist area.
“Congratulations and welcome! The three of you are now officially members of the Order of the Glaives, this will be your membership jewel, please take care of it and you can ask me questions as long as the questions are rank as free,” She said and throw a wink at us.

Kara told us that aside from the rewards from the missions we will earn credits that will register to our jewels. This credits can be exchanged for classified information, relics, gold, and high quality weapons then they also have skill books which not suitable for any beastmans.
“What about this mana energy? And the thing that I drank that I suddenly recovered.” I asked,
“The mana energy is a common information while the thing that helps you recovered is called health potion, it will help you recover your body condition, I’m surprised that you still don’t know it,” Kara said while smiling.
“We actually, live in isolated island..” I said,
Kara told us that the mana energy is everywhere the elves, dragons, humans, orcs, dwarfs, beastmans and demons could use the mana energy. The beastmans could only use their mana on their soul weapon and the beastman is only the race aside from dragons that can use a soul weapon. All races except for beastman can use mana in their body.
“Can you tell me about the humans?” I asked in a curious manner.
“No, Your question is not rank free but I will provide you a general information about them, the humans are not living in this continent. This is all I can give you.” She said,
“Ms. Kara, what about the rules in the kingdoms, can you elaborate more details?” Minerva asked on my side.
Kara told us that the kingdoms are not allowed to post missions related to their wars. If we participate, the Order of the Glaives will be not responsible and will not help us. If our missions are legitimate and we’re in a dire situation, the Order of the Glaives will gladly give us a hand as soon as possible.
“Ms. Kara! My question, not related to the group, Can I marry elves?” Arsenio asked in a loud voice.
“It will depend on the kingdom, in this kingdom there is no such rule that you cannot marry other races, but I want to warn you, If you have a child, your child will be half of your race and half of your wife or husband race, and that is not good for the child.” She said in a serious tone as her eyebrows drop a bit. After a few moments, “Is that all? You can always come back and welcome here if you have more question,” she said in a well mannered tone while smiling.
“That’s all for now and Ms. Kara thank you for guiding us.” I said, we bow our head at the same time and Ms. Kara nodded her head.
…
While walking to the massive mission board, “Let’s have a meeting first, I will assign some things, Perfect, that will do,” I said while looking at the window.
At the top of a tree, “I will pick up a missions that have connections to this kingdom government, Minerva, I want you to pick up a missions that will do some information gathering or similar to that, Arsenio because of your nature, I want you to pick up group missions, I want you to be friends with them and also gather some information if you can. To prevent any suspicions, Minerva will accompany you sometimes in your mission. Are there any questions?” I explained to them in a relaxed manner.
“Big brother what will you do in the kingdom government?” Minerva asked while looking at me with her skeptical expression.
“Just like you, I’m just going to collect information to them, the more resources the better, right? Let’s pick up the missions” I said as I crinkle my eyes. “And Arsenio, please don’t marry elves for now, I know they’re quite a beauties, maybe in the future, ok?” I said,
“Yes, big brother!” Arsenio said in a loud voice and saluted but his head is tilted a bit downwards.
“And for our house, we don’t have any money for now.. And there are many trees here, we’re going to sleep later in that area over there.” I said as I pointed out the area where house infrastructures are lesser.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess. (This work is also being serialised on Webnovel under the name Revile as a trial run)
