Aviel, Jackel and Rydia were sitting cross legged on Aviel's bed. They formed a triangle and are facing one another.
"Jackel, somewhere in you is the ability to do this, so follow my instructions and it should not be hard for you." Rydia was instructing
"When you meditate, you can listen to the frequency of the material existence. It has a how humming sound and when you reached a state of calmness you should be able to pick it up. Rydia continued
Jackel was trying to meditate and pick up the "frequency" but intrusive thoughts keeps interrupting his inner calm.
"Slightly below the space between your eyebrows, you should feel a spiralling energy trying to break free from your forehead. Rydia instructed.
Jackel focused his thoughts on the space between his brows and envisioned the spiral. Pretty soon he was able to feel the pulsating feeling on his forehead. His mind also gradually calmed to a stillness and he was able to hear the hum in the air.
"Great! you can slowly open your eyes and look into your reflection while making eye contact." Rydia was leading Jackel.
"Now whisper "Azam Karoti" while envisioning the two reflections becoming one" Rydia concluded
Jackel did as instructed.
At first nothing seemed to have happened. Suddenly white lights began to materialize around Jackel's body. Within seconds the light inside and around Jackel got pulled upwards and into the mirror.
"We should follow him too now" Rydia urged
"No, give it a few minutes. he should be able to handle himself in there for a while" Aviel said with no concern.
Rydia looked worried but did not follow as suggested by Avi.
Inside the mirror world, the landscape did not resemble the material world in the slightest. The place looked like a wasteland for the purpose of a garbage dump. Atrocious scavengers and critters were swarming the decomposing bodies of large animals. the rancid smell in the air was enough to make a grown man gag.

Jackel landed at the top of a hill and has an area view of the wasteland. The more he saw, the more he wanted to look away, but the scenery was the same in every direction.
Earlier Rydia has informed him that the best time to enter was 3 am in the morning. Because it's the witching hour and when nightmare are at their most powerful. He looked down at his watch but he wasn't wearing anything in the mirror world.
Ten minutes had gone by and there wasn't any activities. There was also no sigh of Rydia or Aviel.
Jackel is starting to feel anxious, and just at the peak of his anxiety. he noticed the horizon has turn black like obsidian. what appears to be a jagged cloud is reaching him at an incredible speed.
His first impulse was to run the other way, but he stood firm and waited for the cloud to get closer.
Soon, the clouds began to shape, and he could make out figures that appears to be wolves with horns, giant spiders with razor legs, centipedes with human bodies, and tentacle atrocities. The creature were all much larger than Jackel and appears to be able to trample him with ease.
Fuck me! Jackel was still standing on the hill while the nightmares were gaining on him with incredible speed.
From the very back, Jackel noticed a figure as tall as a skyscraper, It wore four disfigured looking masks and had a sinister vibe. He assumed that was their boss.
The first to reach Jackel was the obsidian timber wolf. It leaped up and head butted Jackel in the chest, which sent him a few feet backwards.
To Jackel's surprise, he felt no pain.
The wolf attacked him again but this time Jackel ducked with inhuman speed and sent his palms out to hit the wolf in the chest.

the wolf flew 50 feet in the air and was split in half.
Jackel realized that these beasts did not have the ability to hunt him, he was the one who decided which beast is to die next.
He leaped forward almost instantaneously with his arms extended out like two blades and started slicing apart any oncoming nightmare.
When a spider sprang up on him from behind. he did a reverse rounds house and the impact exploded the spider, leaving only it's razor legs on the ground.
In a 5 minute time frame, Jackel has slayed over 200 nightmares with melee alone.
However, during that time, an army of 2000 nightmares had Jackel surrounded in the center.
With a great battle cry, Jackel recalls the training with the gravity and filled himself with electricity he envisioned his field to extend all the way out to the border of the nightmares.
Jackel could feel the air full of vibrating particles and with another battle cry, he brought everything down.
The shockwave blasted 360 feet out into the distance. Every nightmare caught in the gravity field was plastered to the floor. only guts and entrails was left of the nightmares.
Jackel slapped the dirt off his hands as he looks around himself to admire his work. Not bad He thought to himself.
However standing in the distant was the nightmare that stood as tall as a skyscraper. Jackel was not confident he could create a gravity field big enough to bring the giant down.
As if on cue. Aviel and Rydia materialized besides Jackel.
"not bad at all bro. faster than I could've done it" Aviel said in compliment
"Let's take care of this last one shall we?" Rydia mused.
Aviel threw his hands on the ground and a streak of black ice started to slip towards the giant.
The Ice instantly froze the entire giant in place.
Rydia shouted something, and great red flame flew towards the nightmare.
Immediately, it was burnt to cinders.
"It was dead when it froze" Aviel gave Rydia a look.
"Overkill can be fun" Rydia said with a charming smile.
" That was fun." Jackel admitted.
"Bullying things can get addictive" Aviel said with a smirk

Ancient Bones: The Changed Ones book 1 (Post-Post Apocalypse LitRPG)
Is it truly an RPG Apocalypse... if no one can see the RPG? Generations after the Fall, Mankind has achieved a balance in a world it is no longer the master of. But your prospects in this Malthusian world are limited. Johanna Milton and her friends have an answer: delve into Ancient ruins, avoid Changed beasts and mana pockets, and salvage Ancient materials, collectibles, and trinkets to sell. It pays well if you avoid the perils of the Ancient world. But when they find the skeleton of an Ancient, their lives take a strange turn. Suddenly, Talents straight out of fantasy novels become theirs. While they try to make sense of what happens, eyes turn to them, to the four who seem to break all rules. Or are they merely following them? Because, in the Beyond where he's spent 150 years waiting, one dead Ancient knows the truth. Douglas Moore has played those games often enough when he was alive to make sense of the System that rules the Changed world. He can no longer act on his own, but he has access to the Interface. And four people for which he can bring whatever it takes to face the world. Change is coming. The Changed Ones is a slow-burn litrpg fantasy trilogy (Ancient Bones, Ancient Books, Ancient Bonds) set on Earth, 150 years after the RPG Apocalypse... which mostly failed. It is an homage to the venerable ancient RPGs of the Golden Box era, the Baldur's Gates, and many others, offering adventure where You must gather your party before venturing forth. Keywords: LitRPG, realistic setting, low-leveling, post-post-apocalypse, fantasy earth, slow-burn, secondary POVs, female primary MC, team adventure, worldbuilding. Trigger warnings: casual swearing, adult innuendo (no explicit scenes whatsoever, though). Oh, and potentially a bit of politics. Bonus content: a Litrpg Easter Egg hunt. With lots of eggs across the book, some easy, some hard to find. Current score: 6/20 (20 eggs, 6 found) Publication schedule: on hold until September for book 2.
