It started a normal Saturday, reading my favorite light novel: crusader of a dark moon. My cool glass of lemonade in my left hand and a bucket of popcorn in the other. I brought the chilly beverage to my lips and took a sip, the tangy flavor was so utterly thirst-quenching, totally sweet and so packed with lemon flavor that it made my mouth water. I stuffed a handful of popcorn in my mouth while scanning the novel, just as my phone rang. I sighed hesitantly but forced myself to answer: it was my mom; she was calling me to help her with the groceries in the parking lot. I sighed dramatically and got up. I ran down the stairs and outside where my mom was standing with two full bags of groceries in each hand, I ran over to her and reached out for the groceries so I could finally get back to my "work".
"Hold on young man, did you forget that we are picking up your sister for kendo classes?"My face fell; I was just about to remark "Can't y-"
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
I was immediately cut off when a deafening boom sounded in the sky. A giant pillar of blue light grew out from the clouds and hit somewhere in the northwest.
"..." There was an ominous several minute silence,as if the world froze.
"Is this thing working...1,2,3..." A high pitched sound akin to a mic drop sounded throughout earth. "Ah! This blasted zoomfluck,I thought Moob fixed this thing already!"
Awkward silence.
"Okay there we go,now where was I?" "Oh yeah..." A sound like a deflating ballon(possibly a cough?) rang though the supposed mic.
"Rejoice earthlings! For you have been chosen, to be part of the grand scheme of things...The Network! "
