Chapter one
"Like father like son." I thought to myself as I looked in the glass mirror reflecting back a face filled with conviction and steel. I was dressed in clothes that resembled Kiritsugu's black suit and trench coat, having requested them to remind me of my past and duty.
"Kiritsugu... I couldn't become the hero of justice that saved others like we wanted but I have no regrets." I didn't know whenever or not I succeeded in my quest, but I could presume that my presence in this world meant I had succeeded in defeating the Ainsworths.
"I won... Kiritsugu." I might have failed in becoming a hero of justice like EMIYA but I could pride myself as becoming something more than a machine, something real an older brother.
"Miyu... I hope that you would find your warm, small share of happiness." I clenched my fist in resolve as I made my solemn prayer. I wasn't sure if her wish was granted properly, but I knew that at the very least that with the Ainsworths defeated there was no one left to stop my wish from activating.
'Wait for me Miyu, I still have to fulfil my promise to take you to the ocean." Whenever or not she was transported along with me I will find her, either through MBI or the sekirei plan I will find her. Making up my mind I walked out the bathroom with slow but steady steps to the hospital room that has been my home ever since I awoke in this world but it shall no longer serve that purpose.
"Akitsu, Karasuba lets go." I gestured for them to follow me as I was officially discharged a moment ago, along with the doctor's approval I received most of my paperwork but I was still waiting on my MBI work ID or rather I was given time off to settle my affairs first. Nevertheless I was given a brief rundown of what my job will entail and that I was expected to report in by the next couple of weeks.
"...Master do you need my help." Akitsu asked me with concern in her voice as I was just discharged and still heavily injured, even with MBI's top of the line medical assistance.
"Don't worry Akitsu I'm fine." I reassured her with a wave of my hand. I was still heavily injured but after a couple of nights rest and with their medical prowess I had recovered enough to walk around without help. Besides if I push my body too far I could always return to MBI's hospital or take their medicine they gave me for emergency.
"Sorry Shirou, I can't join you for the time being I am the leader of the disciplinary squad after all." Karasuba declined my invitation with a simple smile.
"I see... Then do you have any recommendations for a place that we could stay while I search for a suitable building to purchase?" It would be imperative of me to secure a base of operations, one that would allow me to perform and practice magecraft from prying eyes and still be well protected.
"I know the perfect place just for you Shirou and Akitsu, it isn't as well equipped as MBI's hotels or their employees housing but it should prove to be very interesting and useful for the sekirei plan." Karasuba said this with a certain glee in her voice which sent warning bells through my head.

"..." Akitsu and I waited patiently as Karasuba started to write down the location on a notepad before handing me a ripped page, with vital details on it including MBI's contact information, her own and Natsuo's.
"Oh before I forget, the current owner doesn't accept MBI's card so make sure to withdraw money ahead of time. Also you shouldn't really mention anything about MBI or my name for that matter as she has a vendetta against us but it's your call Shirou."
"So what is this building called?" I asked Karasuba as I contemplated about the situation. Karasuba was the one to save me from certain death and become my first sekirei. She was far more experienced with the sekirei plan than I am which means, I should trust her judgement or rather the bond between us, as I could feel that she wasn't lying about it being helpful.
"Izumo inn."
"... I see then see you later Karasuba. Lets go Akitsu." I waved my first sekirei goodbye before leaving the premises, with Akitsu. I wasn't sure if she would be considered my sekirei due to the circumstances but that didn't matter. All that mattered was that she had my mark and by extension belonged to me.
"Good luck Shirou." Karasuba gave me her blessing as we left, which unnerved me even more as I could tell she wasn't the type to wish someone good luck without a cause.
"Um excuse me do you know where I could find the nearest MBI's bank or ATM." I asked a pedestrian whom was right next to me as we waited for the traffic light to turn green. He appeared to be a university student of average height and build with short messy black hair.
"Eh..." He gave me a disinterested look but answered my question anyway with a fake smile plastered on his face.
"The shopping centre isn't too far from here, If you keep going straight on this footpath and turn right you will..." He trailed off as his attention was focused elsewhere, following his line of sight I noticed a beautiful girl being hit on by a group of men.
"Hey there, I hear your looking for an ashikabi? The man put his hand onto the wall pinning the girl in place as his friends surrounded her.
"To tell the truth, I'm an ashikabi."
"Me too, me too." His friend with the emo haircut piped in as well, not wishing to be outdone by his friend.
"Ashikabi?" I see so she was an unwinged sekirei searching for her ashikabi, so I shouldn't interfere with the situation as my job requires me to act as a bystander, only taking action when they break the rules or attack me first. Besides this could just be a process of an ashikabi winging his sekirei, as she wasn't showing resistance at their actions.
"I'm sorry. I'm kind of busy ask someone else." I was snapped out of my thoughts as the man apologised and hurried away towards the group with a look of determination on his face along with a slight blush.
"... I see so it's you." Judging from his response I had a feeling he was her destined one, but for some reason he didn't choose to wing her. However it appeared he had finally made his decision.
"Show me your resolve or your star might be lost forever." Depending on his actions I might be willing to help him out as the likelihood of the group of men all being ashikabi became unlikely when I thought about it. But as long as there could be a chance that at least one of them could wing her I wasn't allowed to intervene but technically I wasn't part of MBI yet.

I watched him go and entered in a convenience store desperately fumbling around in his pockets for his wallet and placing down two 1000 yen bills on the table, before leaving in a hurry not caring about the change. I see his plan was to get a projectile but there are better weapons than an aluminium can of juice, or juices as I saw him leaving with an armful of aluminium cans.
"Akitsu follow me." I looked over to my sekirei whom has been standing guard beside me in silence all this time. She was dressed in the same uniform as Karasuba with a slight variation around her neck, wrapped around it was Sakura's scarf.
"Yes master." Unlike the bond with me and Karasuba our contract was something crude and simple, I couldn't feel her feelings and likewise she was the same. All the contract did was bind her to me with her consent but as long as I could recover my magecraft then the situation would most likely change and it could be made to resemble a bond between a sekirei and it's ashikabi.
"... Akitsu prepare yourself." My right hand gripping the preloaded Thompson contender from within my trench coat as I sensed a presence from the rooftops mostly likely a sekirei the only questions was did it belonged to the group of thugs?
"..." Akitsu silently obeyed my command as she started to form numerous icicles from thin air all pointing towards the rooftop, she must have also sensed the person hiding in the shadows.
"I will give you five seconds to reveal yourself otherwise I would take this as an act of war." My voice coming out loud and clear as I waited for the person upon the roof to reveal themselves. If they choose to remain silent then as an opposing ashikabi I would eliminate them.
"..."
"Icicle snow storm" In an instant Akitsu released a barrage of icicles at the rooftops as five seconds passed but before it could devastate the surroundings the barrage was neutralised by a giant flame.
"That crimson sekirei crest marking on your forehead and using ice... Are you the scrapped number 07 Akitsu." A handsome man with light grey hair wearing a long black coat with a face mask appeared from the rooftop wielding the power of flames.
"...Ice entrapment" Akitsu responded with freezing the opposing sekirei legs before combining it with the same move from before. A multitude of needle shaped ice bombarded the area but just like before they were neutralised by a large flame. It appeared that this match up was going to end up in a stalemate as their powers counteracts with one another however...
"Akitsu could you handle it?" I have full confidence that we would be able to defeat this sekirei given time as I have faced numerous opponents that was as strong if not far stronger than him but time was a luxury that we do not have. If push comes to shove then I would... show him my true strength. I thought to myself as I clutched the mystic code hidden within my trench coat.
"..." She didn't say anything but I knew that she understood what I was trying to convey as multiple icicles sprouted from underneath the opposing sekirei drawing blood as it clipped him by the side.
"I see... Good luck Akitsu." I turned my back on the fight without a single glance as I had decided to put my trust in Akitsu like she did with me.
"..." I shuffled around the area, extending my senses to search for the man's ashikabi. Closing my eyes temporarily to further my sense of hearing, I tried to pick up any signs of human activity but to no avail I couldn't sense anyone else within the vicinity.
"Strange... even if I'm injured my senses should still be able to find that person's ashikabi unless he doesn't have one?" I thought to myself as I continued searching. There was a chance the man could belong to one of the group members, or that the ashikabi in question wasn't here or skilled enough to avoid my detection but that was unlikely the more I thought about it.
"No matter, I have to help out the university student." Time was wasting, the matter of the ashikabi could wait as they were merely human even if they were to try and help their sekirei more likely than not they would be a burden, therefore helping out the enemy or in my case Akitsu. With that thought in mind I moved as fast as possible towards the direction of the unwinged sekirei.
"..." I stopped for a brief moment to catch my breath and recollect myself as I was still in poor condition but I managed to arrive in time to witness the university student's resolve.
"Ah, did I hit you? Please feel free to keep it. That one's on me." The university student kept the same fake smile on his face as if this was just an ordinary occurrence for him, but I could tell that it was all a facade to hide his fear and confusion at his actions.
"Enough messing around KID!" The group advanced onto the student with ill intent cracking their knuckles and fists in a show of force.
"Take this!" The man in the front threw a right hook which was countered mid swing as I threw one of the cans of juices that was lying around at the man's head, which was closely followed by another downing the man as he clutched his head in pain. The student probably dropped it in his rush to save his sekirei seeing that he now only carried around four cans in his arms.
"What the!"
"Who's there!" The group shouted in unison as it appeared that there was another juice thrower out there who just downed their friend.
"That's right even if its just a single step as long as you keep moving forward you would eventually reach out to your star." My voice coming out loud and clear as I stepped out into the open, purposely revealing myself in order to attract their attention.
"Who are you!"
"Me?" I thought to myself for a second before giving them a wide grin, I was wearing clothes that took after Kiritsugu's for a reason. "A hero of justice."

8 175People. Harmony. Dysfunction
[Hiatus]People are extraordinary. They are glorious, chaotic, imaginative, grim, all kinds of smart and driven. They are capable of living in harmony or incredible destruction. They can be both caring and loyal but vicious and self-centred. However, Olivia wished that the first year of her PhD didn't have to showcase quite so much of the melting pot. People. Harmony. Dysfunction. is a story that follows a research group through the drama and challenges life throws at them. It has an (unspecified) modern setting and focuses on the characters. I've tried to rate this pre-emptively, but unfortunately it might change as the story evolves.
