Arlesta sat in the character creation room as her consciousness was dealing with the influx of players or ‘Farsouls’ as the natives would call them, remembering how she and her siblings had to announce the arrival a few years before.
To summarize they had to mention how beings not from this world would be joining society soon and how they would need to welcome and guide these souls yet also keep them in line. These beings would return from death. Which some natives protested against in outrage, and that they would become capable of great or horrible deeds over time. That is the official speech anyhow.
Later the god/dess high priests were each told that they are to start gathering couples that would help teach these new souls as they would start from infancy and be assigned to families which matched to their personality and desires. Al of this seeming simple enough the priests agreed, and ended up finding many willing couples especially between those who were of different races as conception rates between races were low, so this announcement brought forth many cheers from those couples.
Speaking from the programmer’s side, this was designed as a countermeasure as well as an attempt to see if people would treat this world more realistically if they had to grow alongside it. How this was achieved was that the players would be placed at toddler age into a family and their surroundings and what they pushed their bodies to do while in this stage helped to determine their stats. From there they aged especially fast and learned the parents trade as a subclass which would be a blessing for some and allow everyone a bit more variety instead of your usual character creation.

As for why Zenid truly took this approach is that they wanted to see the effects on grown humans who were forced to live with a non birth family and that were forced to start over as children as it provided valuable feedback for them and growth material for their AI they had designed. In fact the whole idea of starting players in families was the AIs idea, which delighted the creators of it.
This means monster based races that weren’t demi-human were both hindered as well as privileged to not have to go through this and thus their skill growth was designed to be faster until they hit their tenth level than humanoids to make up for the lack of influence.
As Arlesta was thinking on this she noticed that her sister Nerosia was calling her, likely to talk about the curious wraith boy, so she left to meet up with her while her split consciousness dealt with the players.

Binary Soul
So let's say there's this girl. A young girl who happens to be a highly-trained, psionically-gifted, nanite-infused, genetically-enhanced and emotionally unstable assassin that doesn't know the concept of 'mercy' or 'holding back.' Let's say she and her imaginary friend miraculously pass through the borders of reality into an alternate universe, crash landing into a world of swords and magic aboard a starship full of high-tech wonders. Now, let's also say the first person this borderline psychopath meets happens to be her doppelganger - a highly gifted mage who happens to have a few problems of her own, like a bad temper or a bad habit of chronic self-delusion. With me so far? Good. Now, what's the on the agenda for these two different people who happen to be the same person? Settle down, start a family and thoroughly enjoy life. Maybe get married and have some kids. How about befriending a violent alcoholic or defeating an ancient evil being? Perhaps kill a few dragons and wreck a city along the way. Anything can happen around the city of Runetap, after all. It's a place where bizarre and strange things occur on an almost weekly basis. The people living there have long abandoned silly things like common sense or minding the details. A giant flaming UFO streaks above the city in broad daylight? That's just another Tuesday. The City Guard even had the form for that, so believe me when I say this. It's your loss if you mind it. This is the light-hearted and fluffy tale of Ellie and Kira as they forge their own path of absurdity and crazyness across a world that often makes little sense. Loosely inspired by the Discworld series of books by Terry Pratchett, even though the author hasn't actually read any of them. Contains yuri, mature themes and the author's personal views on several subjects. Explicit content is kept to a minimum.Does NOT contain slavery, rape, drugs or any other similarly heavy themes.

Life can become dull, boring, but the universe has a way of changing that. Enter Interface, a way of governing and maintaining ones own body, skills, possessions and more. Interface is a system as old as time, and spreads throughout the universe through a means known as 'Sparks'. Individuals or groups use Sparks as a means of assimilating new territories and planets. The universe is full of several Confederations, groups, and free radicals under the influence of the Interface, and now it's Earth's time to join the fold. It was a simple spring evening when Jim was walking home from work, tired and raw, that's when it hit, the reckoning to change his life, and those of everyone on Earth, forever.

Latgalay lusts for beauty, power. When her tribe’s raid is repulsed, and when a wizard counter attacks, Latgalay seizes power. But there is a cost: her soul. Setting is in an alternate reality during the Roman incursion of Britania. Latgalay is from an embellished tribe of Picts, there are Spirits, Magic, and some pretty dark shit. I wrote this one back in 2015, when I was in a completely different headspace. Like, seriously. Dark. I've gone through and edited some of the worst of it out, but the tone is still there.
