Judy's P.O.V:

As always we left the shop together, Sam was walking next to me.

I don't know if it was because of what happened yesterday or something else but she was unusually quiet, she was just walking next to me with her head lowered.

"So Sam, what did you and Alex talk about, she seemed way too happy with herself when she left the staffroom earlier." I couldn't take it anymore, so I asked her trying to get her to talk.

We didn't have much time alone since the beginning, and I sure didn't want us to spend the bit we had walking in silence... Not that I hated it or anything, just being with her was an enjoyment, but I also wanted to hear her voice, her laughter, and see her smile.

"Oh... Nothing just about normal things... You know how Alex is, hehe..." And what I feared happened, she just gave a small answer and went back into silence, how was I supposed to take that further.

Just as I was still in a mess, I heard her voice again:

"... He- Hey... Judy, do... Do you want to walk for a bit... I... I don't feel like going home... Yet." Her voice was faint and she seemed to be struggling just to say those few words.

But she said them, she totally did say them, and when I understood that, I almost jumped in my place and hugged her, but I controlled myself and said with what I'm sure was a big smile:

"Of course, I also don't feel like returning home yet, hehe..." I couldn't stop myself from releasing a laugh while talking, I was just way too happy.

"Yep, let's go." She said with a smile and a sturdier tone, it was as if something in her had changed... As if she went through a barrier.

I couldn't control the happiness inside of me, Sam with Brittney, had lived her life like she was a robot, go to work then return home, she was too afraid to do anything in between, we only started spending time while leaving the shop, after all, that happened between us, and even then it was only walking together and talking while waiting for a taxi.

But then it was different, she said that she wanted to walk for a bit, which meant that she was going against what was implanted in her mind, which I was happy to see, because that was... Change.

"So... Where do you wanna go? Should go somewhere where we can have fun..." I asked in a high spirit, almost flying.

"... Let's just walk around or sit in some quiet place to talk... Don't really find that much comfort in a crowded place..." She said in a faint voice.

It was then that I knew that I should be the one leading, she was almost on her limit from just saying that she didn't want to return home yet, I needed to take care of everything, it was a step forward and I wasn't going to let her back down because of overthinking.

So thinking about all of that, I started contemplating where to go, just walking and talking seemed good, and also sitting somewhere which wasn't that crowded sounded like a good idea...

After thinking for a while I just decided to combine them, looking at Sam I said:

"Let go to a park, there's quite a pretty and calm one close to here. We can sit if we want or just talk and talk, what do you think?"

"Let's go then..." She nodded.

So we started walking towards it while just talking about random things, I was afraid that Sam wouldn't be participating in the conversation much, but I was wrong.

For some reason, she kept on asking me things about myself, my birthday, where I was born, my family, all of those.

I didn't know why she was suddenly interested in all of that, but I did tell her everything she wanted to know.

I actually had a very normal life, a normal family, both my parents were still alive and well, I had one elder brother and one elder sister, both which I had a good relationship with, except being the youngest in the family and everyone's spoiled child, everything else was normal.

But Sam still listened with interest to everything I said.

We stayed like that for around half an hour or so, and then, Sam's phone rang.

Hearing it my heart skipped a beat, I knew who it was even without having to look at it, or her to tell me.

Sam lowered her head without taking her phone out to look at it.

I didn't say anything, you can say that I didn't even breathe, afraid of what might happen.

She finally took how phone out and put it next to her ear.

I couldn't hear what the person on the other side said, but I saw Sam's hand hold the phone tighter, my heart hurt when I saw that but I didn't say anything, I just watched, waiting for what was going to happen.

"I... I'm taking a walk in a park..." Sam answered in a somehow trembling voice, then after a short stop she continued:

"Y- Yes I'm- I'm with Judy... We're just talking... I'll be home soon... See ya." After going back and forth with her for a bit, she finally took the phone from her ear and looked at it.

Then, with a trembling finger, and using what seemed to take all her strength, she hung up, before she did I heard Brittney's angry voice shouting her name.

That shout was the last thing she said, and it was as if a spell fell on us because of it, as we fell in a horrible silence.

It wasn't till a bit later that Sam's voice was heard:

"... Hey Judy... How was your first relationship..."
