《Im Just a Normal Character》Chapter 8

Before Alvis was kidnapped, both him and Charlotte were hit with the sleep powder. Alvis had a thought.
(Since my ability says “The ability to create an object of what the user has seen”)
(Would the powder I saw before I fell asleep count as one?)
These thoughts flash through Alvis' head because he believes that the sleep powder is possibly made from plants. And would that count as an object or living being?
(Screw it, like I know what that sleep powder is made from.)
Alvis first created a cup that he had seen during the dinner table in the Isbert house. He wanted to test how much amount of sleep powder is needed to make one fall asleep. So he started with a cup.
After that Alvis started creating the sleep powder hoping that it would work.
Alvis started manifesting his ability, as he was creating.
One by one small powder began to fall from his hand. His hand is very close to the cup because of that the sleep powder won’t fly away.
While Alvis is creating the powder one by one
Charlotte and the guard were staring at him.
Yes, he is being very obvious.
***
Alvis continued creating the sleep powder for the next 2 hours. Alvis was able to fill out half of the cup with sleep powder. And also counting the fact that the sleep powder is much more complex than a simple sword making the process longer.
And now it is currently 7:00 PM.
The cracks from the wall are beginning to shine in orange light. Showing that the sun has begun to set.
The guards and Charlotte who were staring at Alvis, already lost interest. Now minding their own business.
***
In the Isbert House.
Isaac picked up the stone tablet, “Chief Commander Austin, status report.”

What came out of the stone tablet was the same middle aged man who spoke to Alvis.
“Nothing major my lord, except butler Alvis is displaying odd action.”
Austin Constant a Chief Commander, the second highest rank given in the military of Magenology.
At the very bottom there is a soldier, and as it rises in ranks the soldier becomes Captain. After Captain is General, after General is Commander. The Commander then becomes Chief Commander. And at the highest is the Head of Military.
Those who became Head of Military are usually one rank below the First Class and higher than the Second Class.
While Mason who was standing behind Isaac showed no trace of any emotion. It was as if he knew everything.
Isaac looked at him and turned back to the stone tablet, “Good, continue what you were doing.”
“Yes, my lord.”
After that the communication was shut off.
After a good few minutes, Isaac looked at Mason and smiled, “Is everything going according to your plan?”
“Yes.” Mason looked back and with a slight pause, “thanks to you.”
“Ho ho ho, whatever do you mean.” Isaac lightly laughed
***
The time is 9:00 PM and the sky is now dark. And the room Alvis and Charlotte stayed in is becoming dark.
Alvis finished filling the cup with sleep powder.
(Finally!)
Alvis was tired from the constant mana consumption. There was a slight increase in his mana storage. But the status didn’t show any rank up in mana.
To be absolutely honest Alvis wasn’t really sure if this cup of sleep powder would work on the guard. Because when they were attacked the opponent had a basket to disguise those of the people living there.
So Alvis wasn’t sure of the amount to work. And also the fact that his ability model is the weaker version, which made him less confident in getting the right amount.

Alvis suddenly had a thought, and looked at Charlotte who was just staring at empty space.
(I'm sorry Charlotte, but this is the benefit of both of us.)
Alvis quickly splash the sleep powder in the air toward Charlotte
After a few seconds Charlotte fell asleep.
(Oh boy, just hope lord Isaac doesn’t know about this…)
On the outside the guard was silently looking, and started to sweat a tiny bit from his forehead.
***
Isaac who was informed about this were speechless.
“....”
Mason who also knew were also speechless.
“....”
***
While on the other side Alvis was happy that it worked.
(Tomorrow is the beginning of the plan, now I know that it worked but would one cup be enough)
The body of a child and adult is very different which made Alvis worry that he might need more.
(Maybe I should create another two to three cups just in case one cup doesn’t work.)
Alvis agreed with himself.
And just like that Alvis decided to stay up before going to sleep to finish creating it.
After another six to seven hours, finish creating it. Because Alvis gained experience more creating and his mana capacity increased the process became faster.
Now it 3:45 AM
Alvis decided to go to sleep and began the operation tomorrow at 7:00 AM. He lay around in the corner to do the minimum hiding so the guard won’t be able to find out about it.
And tomorrow morning he wishes to talk to Charlotte and have her cooperate, because he fears that if the situation comes to sudden she becomes stunned and becomes someone that can bring ruin to his plan.
Morning came 6:00 AM Alvis woke up earlier than planned and Charlotte woke up at the same time as him.
(Perfect timing!)
Alvis whispered, “Hey, Charlotte can we walk for a second?”
Alvis decided to drop some of the formal language because it is not the right situation for it.
“Y-yes!” Charlotte was surprised by the sudden conversation because Alvis hadn't talked to her since yesterday and the way Alvis talked to her is different than usual.
Alvis began to explain his plan to Charlotte
Each minute passes by and just like that the clock hit 7:00 AM
Alvis became more nervous as this was his first time doing this sort of stuff. But he had solid will in continuing it.
“Alright let's do this!” in a whisper voice.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
