《Journey of Detachment》The Inheritance Realm

The Void ship approached the enormous gate slowly but suddenly the gates opened slightly to reveal a gigantic eye the size of an entire planet at the center of the opened gate, all of a sudden from that gigantic eye a light pierced out, it was extremely fast and was approaching the Void ship at a speed 20 times quicker than light.
His father could have stopped it but instead, he just let it approach them as he looked at Wang Wei with a smile and he said "Good luck my child.".
As soon as that light reached the Void ship everybody in it felt it scanning their bodies and as it finished scanning them Wang Wei felt weightless and huge pressure was suddenly on his body as if he was being squeezed through a straw and he disappeared from the Void ship.
When he reappeared again he was in a white space with his entire protector team then suddenly in a space completely filled with white, he looked around and saw the stupefied expression all over their faces.
Suddenly in front of them appeared a glowing human-like silhouette, it looked as if starlight was condensed into the shape of a human being. When he looked at it felt as if he was looking at something holy, something that shouldn't be stained by his mortal gaze.
Then an ethereal male voice was projected into their consciousness "Hello descendants of mine, and welcome to the most important time of your lives!"
"First thing you should be aware of is that your goal in life isn't to reach the Immortal realm, for in this infinite universe Immortals number in the millions and the only ones with any power in it are the Dao-Ancestors because to them even Immortals are like ants, not even worth looking at!" the ethereal voice said.
"But what is the most important knowledge you will ever know, and my greatest gift to you is, the knowledge that no cultivation technique can allow you to cultivate to the Dao-Ancestor realm, every path of a Dao-Ancestor is totally unique and created by the Dao-Ancestor themselves!"
"For once every ancestor merges with a Dao using a path, that path is locked forever and unless you are able to kill the Dao-Ancestor that made the path it is impossible to become a Dao-Ancestor using an already made path!" the ethereal voice finished and started observing his descendants.
Wang Wei was truly shocked, he never expected something like this to be revealed to him, and it finally explained to him why his father reached a bottleneck in his cultivation at the Immortal realm for so many years.
His father was in fact very very old, he was in fact older than some lower realms, but in so many years of his existence, he has not advanced even a single step after the Immortal realm, and the reason why has deeply stumped him.
Wang Wei now finally understood why the condition for participating in the trial was not stepping on the path of comprehension of the Dao because the condition to start to comprehend a Dao was in fact the Nascent-Soul realm and at that point, the path you thread has been engraved on your very soul and couldn't be changed no matter what.

He also dreaded having to tell his father the news that his own path had been cut off at the root, but the next sentence of his ancestor completely set him at ease "But you must remember that this information will be locked behind a seal that I have just put in your soul. It will prevent you from divulging this information to anyone until you also reach the Dao-Ancestor realm, I don't want to be constantly challenged by ants." the ethereal voice said.
"Now let's get to the content of the trial, so as you might have realized, the only thing that will be tested in this trial is your perseverance and ingenuity as that is the only thing that matters in the pursuit of becoming a Dao-Ancestor!"
"Before I started traveling the universe in pursuit of becoming even stronger, I left behind this Inheritance realm, in it, I created a higher realm at its inception, controlled the newly born Heavenly Will with my own will, and sealed the world in time."
"But the human race in it is very primitive and they didn't even start creating a cultivation path!"
"So your objective in this trial is that you will be put into that higher realm and with the help of your assigned civilization you should create a cultivation path that can come into contact with the Great Dao"
"That civilization can help you create your own cultivation path because as you know the minds of the many are always better than the minds of the few."
"However creating a cultivation path is extraordinarily difficult even with the help of an entire civilization so I will grant you two gifts, the most important of which is that while you are inside the trial you will not age and are completely Immortal. Inside the higher realm, nothing will be able to kill you, even if someone were to sever your head in a few minutes it would reattach itself and you would come out of it unharmed!"
"And the second is that while you are inside the higher realm you will be aided by Heavenly Will in creating a cultivation path for yourselves and your civilization, so your comprehension and memory will be greatly improved."
"Also I have one more piece of advice to tell you before I announce the reward and send you away. Do not be limited by what you have experienced in the Celestial Wang Realm, and don't be afraid to step outside of the path I have created!"
"Nonetheless in view of the impossibly difficult task you have to complete, the reward will also be quite generous, the first person to start the path of Dao comprehension in their own newly created path will be awarded full control over the Heavenly Will of the higher realm!"
After hearing that Wang Wei's and his protector's expressions blanked and a ringing filled their ears, they were in complete and utter shock.
And the reason they were so utterly shocked was because of what controlling the Heavenly Will entailed, it basically meant being able to control every aspect of the world, they would be able to change the Qi concentration, create continents, and even make the continents themselves fly.
They could even change the laws of that world to their liking, and that means that they would even be on par with an Immortal while they were inside that realm.

No one could resist such a temptation and immediately Wang Wei realized that his protection team just became his competition, because they had nothing to fear from his father if they won.
The will of the ancestor let them absorb the new information for a few minutes and then a giant spatial crack appeared in the white space and all of them were sucked in before they could even react.
Wang Wei emerged from a space crack in an unknown mountainous region, the first thing he immediately noticed when he arrived was the smell in the air, it was the smell of burning meat, and with his cultivation enhanced sense of smell, he could accurately pinpoint the source of the smell.
The second thing he noticed was that his mind was more agile than before and he could feel a strange closeness to the world around him as if the world itself was whispering the answers to all of his questions.
Even his previous doubts and quandaries about Buddhist scriptures were resolved, he knew that that was the Heavenly Will aiding him in his comprehensions.
When he looked towards the location of the smell he saw a group of hundreds of people dressed in animal skin surrounding a few giant bonfires chanting in an unknown language.
He immediately went towards them while he was staying hidden among the treetops, when he got close enough to hear exactly what they were saying and even hear their conversations between themselves he stopped and started meditating while silently planning and trying to learn their language.
As soon as he tried to pick out the meanings of their words and the structure of their sentences a voice appeared in his head as if answering his questions and explaining the language to him, once again it was the Heavenly Will helping him, and with its help and his own abnormal comprehension speed it barely took 2 hours for him to learn the entire language fluently.
Afterward, he took one more hour to complete his plan and listen in on their conversations in order to learn about their daily life and experiences.
They were still a hunter-gatherer society and they only had stone tools and weapons, and the fascinating thing he found out was that because they couldn't cultivate they were subjected to a demonic beast that developed intelligence, which they worshiped as a god.
Because they still didn't have any cultivation path to follow they were extremely weak in comparison to the demonic beast that only needed a cultivation technique once they wanted to break through the Nascent-Soul realm.
A demonic beast that developed intelligence was at least at the Golden-Core realm and formed their demonic core as well as being able to communicate using spiritual communication.
Still, Wang Wei was much stronger than before with his movement technique and he could easily deal with a Golden-Core stage demonic beast, so he wasn't too worried.
So the demonic beast appeared before the tribe that was being ravaged by demonic beasts and barely surviving and it offered them a deal, in return for hunting for it and giving it the food as an offering, it would protect them from the other demonic beast.
Since the people were so primitive and didn't know that what they were talking to was in fact just another demonic beast they saw the supernatural powers it possessed and started worshiping it as a god.
Nevertheless, the so-called god was still a demonic beast that couldn't control its basic desires even though it developed intelligence it didn't possess any empathy and every so often it would ask the tribe to sacrifice a human to it so that it could taste their flesh.
Because of it, the tribe was still extremely miserable and afraid that every moment their god would call on them to sacrifice one of their own.
The current festival was in fact one such sacrificial ritual, where a man was to be sacrificed to the winged demonic serpent. This was extremely fortunate for him because it saved him the wait time to execute his plan, so he immediately started carrying it out.
First, he used his movement technique to run, faster than the mortal eye could even see, into one of the bonfires as he hid amongst the raging flames, and he waited for the people to call the demonic serpent that rested in the mountains for the sacrifice.
He waited for a few hours hiding and observing the tribe before it was finally time to call the serpent, all of the people with tearful expressions took the struggling unknown man and tied him around a tree, the expression on his face was that of uncontrolled terror.
Then they kowtowed towards the mountains and chanted in unison, "WE CALL THE SERPENT GOD ACCEPT THE OFFERING" still a long time passed with them chanting this phrase over and over, while the tied up man's expression got more and more desperate as he pleaded loudly for his life.
After chanting for longer than an hour suddenly a roar that shook the mountains sounded out and the trees around them started shaking. Then from the mountains far away on the horizon, a black shadow in the shape of an enormous serpent with giant feathered wings flew out.
As soon as Wang Wei saw it he executed his martial arts technique "Art of Boiling Seas" and all of the flames in the bonfire he was sitting in suddenly turned cyan and from them a giant entirely made out of flames formed.
But before any of the tribesmen could react that cyan flaming giant instantly flew out towards the shadow of the enormous serpent, as Wang Wei approached it he could finally see it in its entirety, its scales were as black as the night sky and on its serpent-like head, it had two horns.
Just as Wang Wei saw those two features he knew that this opponent would be extremely challenging, because those horns indicated that this demonic beast had a small amount of a dragon's bloodline which meant that it was much stronger than a demonic beast at the same rank.
Nevertheless, Wang Wei was still confident in being able to defeat it because of the Immortality that his ancestor provided him, as he had that thought suddenly a massive stream of water the size of an ordinary river exited the mouth of the demonic beast and it headed towards his flaming giant form.
