《Undying Alchemist》2- The curse

It all started with just a single point of light in the endless darkness that replaced the godly realm. Then, this single point of light grew and grew, until it covered Sebian's entire vision. Then, as if dimming out, the alchemist found himself on all fours in the middle of a jungle.
"What the fuck?!" Looking around, Sebian felt a chill travelling down his spine. While the scents of the medicinal herbs growing all over the place were familiar, the shapes of the plants that surrounded him…
It was as if he was thrown into another world!
"Ah, that was a strange dream…" Refusing to acknowledge what just transpired, Sebian attempted to drive his cultivation to alleviate his exhaustion. But nothing happened.
'Strange…'
Another attempt. And another failure. Quickly losing all the shreds of his composure, Sebian frantically pushed, yet it appeared as if there was nothing to push at all!
"Could it be?!" Staring down at his hands with a hint of helplessness appearing in his mind for the first time in ages, Sebian attempted once again. But this time, rather than aiming to drive all three dimensions of his cultivation, he attempted to suck the energy in from the air.
The very first step on the path of cultivation.
Then, it worked.
"Are you fucking serious?!" Sebian had an insane talent. Even though he only realised it midway on his path to greatness, he still managed to reach the apex of cultivation in just two hundred years mostly thanks to this peculiar constitution of his. But those two hundred years that he took to climb the ladder of power, was fraught with hardships, challenges and deathly threats.
If not for his desperation back then, he would never be able to achieve so much in such a short amount of time. From absolutely nobody at the bottom of the slum to the demon lord reigning over the entire world.

And now, the fruits of his hard toil were taken away from him.
"Are you fucking serious?" Repeating the same question but now with the tone of extreme disappointment, Sebian fell down to his knees. Staring blankly at the jungle's floor, his eyes followed his habit and analysed the plants he saw.
Then, his pupils widened.
"Wait, is this actually another…" Before Sebian could finish his exasperated shout, a slight noise alerted him. Even if he lost all his power, his senses remained as sharp as they always were.
Crack.
'A stick… breaking?' Not daring to move his head an inch, Sebian couldn't even move his head towards the source of the sound. Without his power, he was as good as a meal for any random beast or bandit.
Growl…
The deep tones of this clearly feline noise sent a shiver down Sebian's spine. From the volume of the sound, the alchemist realised that there was no point in remaining motionless. Slowly turning his body around, he finally saw the oppressive figure of the monster that approached him.
'Are you for real? Is this my kind of purgatory?!' Just the size of the approaching monster was proof of its strength. Gently conquering each step, it barely made any noise as it neared Sebian. If not for his superior senses, he wouldn't even know when he would turn into a lunch for this beast.
"Herbs, I need herbs…" Frantically scanning the area around him just by moving his eyeballs, Sebian could feel the trickles of panic spreading like venom through his veins.
The best made another step. And then one more.
'Fuck, there is nothing…' Before Sebian would even have a chance to finish his thought, the beast leapt forward. Instantly covering the remaining distance, it opened up its huge jaws while its huge paws reached to hold Sebian in place.

'Am I gonna…' Powerless, Sebian didn't even bother to move. His years of fighting experience already made him aware that he was unable to dodge. Even if he did, he didn't stand a chance against a monster like that.
Sebian closed his eyes.
A bit of pain and the familiar darkness swallowed the alchemist once again. By the time the feeling of having his brain smashed to bits by the powerful jaws of the monster finally ended, the darkness somehow disappeared.
Recognising the familiar scent and texture, Sebian prompted his body up. Once his head was no longer buried in the gravel, the scene around also turned out to be pretty familiar.
With the exception of the massive body of the beast that just killed him, lying motionlessly beside a huge pool of blood. Staring down at the scene of a massacre, Sebian recognised the remaining parts of the flesh lying amidst the blood.
There was no denying it. Albeit younger, it appeared that his body was the source of this massive pool of blood.
Sebian looked to the side, at the lifeless corpse of the beast. Not capable of forming a single thought of guess as to what made this powerful monster die in the middle of its meal, Sebian lowered his head.
Just as expected in this peculiar situation, he was completely naked.
'Not even a set of handy tools to being my life in this world, huh…' Staring up to the sky, Sebian pondered for a moment. This Bart's God was truly devious.
"Maybe that's what he meant with that undying curse or something." Rubbing his chin, Sebian scanned the area once again. Thankfully, it seemed like the presence of this huge predator scared all the smaller fries. For someone as powerless as Sebian, even those smaller threats in the jungle would pose a grave danger.
"But my time is limited. Who knows when other monsters will dare to wander into this area." Shaking his head to force the desperation out of his mind, Sebian looked cautiously around. For now, it seemed that the surroundings were safe.
"But still… This undying…" After assessing his situation, Sebian could only see a single solution. As annoying as it was, relying on this curse of undying seemed to be his only way out of this place. Only by reaching areas safer for him to slowly grow his strength back, would he be able to find his way back home.
'Or maybe…' With a sudden thought popping up in the alchemist's head, a weird smile crept on his face. Then, his eyes fluttered down for the man to stare at the corpse of the monster.
"Who knows? Maybe it will work?" Picking up a random stone, Sebian approached the enormous mouth of the best. Still bloodied by its last meal, it made the entire body of the alchemist shudder in disgust once he pulled its bottom jaw open.
Then, he struck his stone at the teeth of the beast.
Without any tools at hand, he had to create some himself.
After just a few strokes, Sebian picked up the long teeth of the tiger-like monster. With a look of determination in his eyes, he kneeled down before placing the tip of his new bone-knife at the belly of the dead monster.
"Let's see how beautiful your insides are!"
