Another Chapter of Virtual God Zu. I wasn't going to post this tonight, but I figured why not. Tomorrow there might be another chapter, but I'll be writing 5 Dragon Emperor after my last exam tomorrow! This is 7k words long :o (I just can't hit 10k xD) Enjoy!

Also, what do you think about the cover? Just something I made since it didn't have one, and I thought... why not.

Chapter Nine: Another Day

Blackness, that’s all she could see. A small white light came, and slowly her vision came to as well. It was blurry, and she felt pain all across her body. In her blurry vision she made out a cell door - that was rusted - and black walls. Her breathing was slow, but she still managed.

Her white hands moved, but a shaking sound was heard. She slowly tilted her head upward only to notice that her hands were chained. ‘What is this?’ she thought as she tugged the chains checking to see if they would break. It was no use, the more she tugged at them the more pain she felt.

Her once gorgeous appearance would now make any man cry. Her long blonde hair was messed up, and her clothing was gone. Wounds were on her beautiful body as dried blood was seen. ‘What… happened?’ She thought while shaking her head a few times trying to get her vision straightened out.

Her ears slightly twitched as it heard footsteps approaching her cell. She forced her head to look straight trying to see who was coming. Through the cell bars all she could see was darkness, not even a wall could be seen. Suddenly two pairs of light green eyes could be seen staring at her through the cell bars.

“Who… are you? Why am I here!?” She asked.

“...”

She got no response. She could clearly see the eyes staring at her, but whoever was behind the cell bars didn’t answer her. She hung her head down because her neck was starting to hurt.

“How is she doing?” A voice called out from behind the bars.

She could make it out, it was a female’s voice. However she didn’t know who’s voice it belonged to.

“She just woke up.” Another voice replied. The reply was said low so she could hardly even hear it.

“Oh really. It’s such a pity we need her alive.” The female voice said.

Shortly after a creaking sound was heard as the cell door opened. On the other side of the door two women appeared. One had short purple hair, brown eyes, and white skin. She was wearing some skin tight clothing as she approached the chained woman.

The other one was a tad bit shorter than the other woman, but she had black hair, green eyes, and brown skin. Her presence was hardly present - you would hardly notice she was there if no one said anything. On her side was a white dagger that had a green hilt. Not once did her hand leave the hilt of the dagger.

The woman in skin tight clothing approached the chained woman. Only a few feet away her face was clear as day. She leaned in close as her face went to the side of the chained woman’s ear. “Don’t worry, you’ll leave shorty.” Is what she whispered to her before she dragged her finger down the naked womans body slowly. As if she was caressing her, her finger slid down the nape of her neck, going over her breast and leaving off on her flat stomach.

The chained woman’s body slightly tingled. As the woman’s finger slid down her body she moved with it. “Who are you?” She asked in an unpleasant tone.

She took her finger off the chained woman’s body and lightly laughed. “You don’t remember?” She asked.

“If I remembered I wouldn’t be asking now would I?” The chained woman replied.

The woman in skin tight clothing started laughing. Shortly after her short purple hair grew longer as it changed from purple to black. Her brown eyes turned light blue. “Maybe you’ll remember me now?” She asked.

“Y-you! Where is Ashley!?” The chained woman replied. Her voice was cold and filled with killing intent as she glared at the woman in front of her.

“She is fine. Probably ‘living’ a better life than you are now.” The woman replied.

The chained woman gnashed her teeth. “Mary, you won’t get away with this! Once my father knows i’m gone missin-”

Mary was the name of the woman in skin tight clothing. She placed her hand on the chained woman’s mouth making her unable to finish her sentence.

“Karinna, your father won’t do anything. If anything he’ll be dead in a few months. While he is out searching for someone who can’t be found, he’ll end up dying by my masters blade.”

Karinna was the woman who was chained. She was being held captive by Mary and by some other unknown person.

“Why? Why did you do all of this? Why am I still alive!?” Karinna asked.

“Two simple reasons. One I wanted to keep you alive even though I would very much like to kill you. Two the master thinks you could be of service to her. She has some very ‘interesting’ plans for you.” Mary said.

Mary threw her hands up as she said: “Truly I didn’t want to be the one to do this. I was hoping someone else would, but master said I had to. She is such a fearsome person, if I didn’t do it then I might have died.”

Karinna shook her head. “NO! You didn’t have to do it! You wanted to do it!” She yelled at Mary.

“That might be true, or might now. However Karinna you will soon find out that the world we live in is a bigger place than you think. Arthur and Guinevere might rule over Zen, but did you think that it would last forever? Even if the other rulers can’t overthrow them my master can. Out of everyone she is the only one who has the power to truly rule.”

“Lies! My father is the man who pulled out the holy sword Excalibur, he can easily crush any foe! I would like to see your master face him. The looks on your faces would be priceless once she loses!”

“Excalibur? What a joke. King Arthur the man thought to be the person from the prophecy. His sword might be titled as ‘Legendary’ but under my masters force it’s just another dull blade that hasn’t been sharpened in years.” Mary replied as she turned around.

“Master this, master that. If your master is so great why haven’t I heard of her? Why isn’t she known to the world?”

“Because she felt it unnecessary to approach. She thought that with time things would get better, but instead they have gotten worse. The world we live in, the way it’s going. If we continue down this path we all will die!” Mary said.

Karinna had a blank look on her face. She didn’t understand what she meant by they all would die. Sure given enough time they would either die on the battlefield, or old age, but never would the world and it’s people all die. ‘What does she mean?’

“Who is this master of yours? How does she know what ‘will’ happen?” Karinna questioned Mary.

Mary turned her head slightly. “Because, she has seen it.” Mary let with that, not saying another world to Karinna. There was no point in continuing the conversation, especially since she just came to see how Karinna was doing. Once she went out the cell the cell door started closing.

Karrina hung her head down and started to think of what just happened. ‘Who could this person be? Since Mary said her instead of he then it can’t be one of the Dukes… But could it be one of their wives?’ Karinna shook her head. The Dukes of Zen held great authority and power, but they would never act against her father. ‘She said that she only approached now… could she be a commoner? But if she was how could she make Mary do what she is doing?’ Karinna shook her head once again. It couldn’t be a commoner, because no one would listen to those kinds of people. Even if someone did they would have no way of taking the king's life. ‘Who is she? And what does she mean by she has seen it?’ Karinna racked her brain over what happened but couldn’t come up with anything. No matter how many times she pieced it together nothing fit.

Karinna sighed, thinking about it was getting her nowhere. However she couldn’t get the image of Mary out of her head. When Karinna was born Mary was only ten years old at that time, but was already hired to take care of her. When Karinna was twelve Mary became the head maid of her household and took care of everything. However Mary also knew combat, and was one of the best Karinna knew. Unlike her who dives straight into anything with her sword, Mary can go undetected. Mary was trained to be a Spy that could fit into any home, or any kingdom and she gathered information for her father.

When Karinna thought back to the day her carriage was attacked she bit her bottom lip. She never would have thought that it would be Mary. She was like a second mother to Karinna, and she never thought that she would betray her own kingdom.

The day her carriage was attacked and the guards all died, Mary broke through the roof. Karinna confronted Mary only to be knocked out the next instant. Karinna has been through training since she was ten, her skills could match the best warrior's her father owns. However against Mary, it was all useless. She couldn’t protect Ashley - who she knew since she was little - nor could she protect herself.

‘Surpass my father? Unite the kingdoms under one banner? Foolish! I was foolish to think of such a thing when I couldn’t even protect myself.’ Karinna said to herself as she shook her head.

Karinna forced her head to look up at the cell’s door. Those two light green eyes were still looking at her. Not moving. Karinna noticed that the woman’s behind the cell never took her eyes off of her. ‘Who is she?’ Karinna thought as she stared back at the woman. ‘She doesn’t seem like a normal guard.’ She said to herself. The woman behind the cell door at one glance Karinna could tell that she was insanely strong. Even if she was in her best condition, Karinna felt she only had a 40% chance of winning.

When Karinna thought back about what Mary said - about her father dying - a tear crept in her eye. Karinna closed her eye and sighed. ‘Father if I live through this and you aren’t alive, I will get revenge for you. I’m sorry you didn’t see me get married and have children like you hoped, but I Karinna Vel Pendragon swears that I will fulfill your hopes and dreams.’

Adam opened his eyes while he got up. He wasn’t on his twin sized bed as usual, instead he was on his cold floor. He wasn’t cold because he had a few blankets covering the ground, but he could still feel the chill slightly. The reason he wasn’t on his bed was because someone else was in it.

It wasn’t someone he was close to, nor did he know the name of that person. If he told this to someone else they would call him insane. Who would let a total stranger spend the night at their house? What if they ran off with all their stuff or killed them in their sleep?

Adam stretched his body as he turned his attention to the person laying in his bed. That short shoulder length black hair, white skin, and those breast appeared in his vision. She was laying in a weird position with the covers slightly off of her and the pillow was off to the side. She was wearing pink pajamas - which Adam found strangely cute.

This person was none other than his neighbor. It was also the girl he held in his arms a few hours ago. When Adam thought about what happened to her house, his body shivered. ‘Who could do such a thing?’ He thought to himself. Someone broke into her house and trashed the place, while writing bad things about her. Adam didn’t know the girl personally, but he didn’t think she was what they called her. However he only judged her by her appearance and the way she acted whenever he had seen her. If anything he thought she was the quiet shy type, but he could be wrong.

Adam thought about waking her up since it was ten a.m in the morning. However he chose not to because she was sleeping so well. Adam grabbed a towel and pulled out some clothing while he went to the bathroom. The day has just begun so it is better if he washes himself before he starts back gaming.

Adam came out thirty minutes later with a towel wrapped around his waist. His upper body was naked, however you could see a slight image of his abs. He didn’t seem like he worked out, but his body still looked nice.

The moment he walked out of the bath, he had a toothbrush in his mouth, but it dropped to the floor. ‘Fuck me.’ He said to himself. Out of habit he forgot to take his clothes with him, and left them on the counter. However in his room and staring at him with a face beat red was his neighbor.

She just woke up but the first thing she caught sight of was Adam basically butt naked. The only thing that she couldn’t see was his waist and groin, but everything else was in full view. “KAAAaah! W-what… are… you thinking!?!” She asking in a shaky voice.

She didn’t understand what he thought. However she was thinking that he wanted something more from her. First thing he does is take a shower while she is sleep, and comes out naked. She thought he was planning on attacking her. Who wouldn’t if you see a complete stranger naked and in the same room as you.

Adam sighed. “No, this is not what it looks like.” He said calmly. He had seen these scenes in tons of anime and manga to know where this was going. Unlike those people he would definitely explain the situation. He pointed to the counter where he clothes were. “There, see those are mines. I took a shower but out of habit I didn’t take them with m-”

A pillow landed on his face before he could even finish. He heard footsteps running away while the pillow fell down. He noticed that the girl was gone. Adam turned his head and she was in his kitchen with a knife in her hand. It was shaking but she was pointing it at Adam.

“S-stay away…” She said nervously.

Adam put his hands in the air showing that he meant no harm. “Look, I think you are highly misunderstand the situation here. I mean sure you have a nice body and sure I came out here naked… wait… that came out wrong.” Adam said as he realized the words that came out his mouth.

“S-so… you admit it!?” She asked.

Adam shook his head several times. “No! Look, if I actually wanted anything from you I would have done something last night, right?”

The woman glanced down at her body while slightly shaking. “W-w-what? D-did you do anything to ME!?”

‘Well damn. This is not going how I hoped.’ Adam thought to himself. He walked back a few steps while keeping his eyes on the girl. “Look, i’m not approaching but going back. So how about you go to the counter and toss me my clothes?” He asked her.

“Right, so while i’m distracted you can approach me?” She said while rejecting what Adam said.

“Look, i’ll even turn around. I don’t think you want me to stay like this? And i’m getting kinda cold…” Adam said as he turned his body around. He heard something drop behind him and Adam slightly turned around. He noticed that his clothes that were on the counter were behind him. Adam used his feet to grab the clothes while he dragged them in front of him.

He bent down and put on his underwear then his blue jeans. Next he grabbed his white t-shirt and put it on. After everything was on Adam turned around and smiled. “See, that was not so hard… was it?”

The girl didn’t answer and she still held the knife it her hand, but it was lowered.

“So, how about we introduce ourselves? I mean we are neighbors but besides you tell me you were scared last night I don’t think we ever had a conversation.” Adam said as he approached his bed and sat down on it.

Adam smiled at the girl. “I’m Adam Ruffmin, 24 years old and professional gamer.” He said while showing the girl he truly meant no harm.

“Samantha Brown… 22 years old.” She said.

“Right, so what do you do Samantha?” Adam asked while not throwing in the real answer he wanted to ask.

“I… am a student at AMU.” She answered him.

Adam nodded his head slightly while not showing his surprised expression. ‘AMU huh…’ Adam thought. AMU is one of the top three schools in the area. Adam always thought she attended some high end school but not that high. AMU is one of the top university but is extremely expensive to get into. Only those rich kids attend that school because others can hardly afford the tuition and if they can it's only for one year.

“What's your major and why that school?” Adam asked her.

If she got into AMU then she had to be smart and rich, but Adam wasn't going to try to take advantage of her. If he and something they could talk about that would calm her down. Sure he could ask about what happened but he figured she would rather not talk about it.

“Business Management. Its because that's the one school that my grandmother wanted me to enter so I accepted their scholarship.” Samantha answered.

“Wow, I didn't think they gave a full ride out. Must be smart huh? And your grandmother attended that school?.” Adam asked trying to keep the conversation flowing.

“No, she didn’t and i’m not that smart. However I just so happened to get a scholarship for half my tuition, but I worked to pay off the other half.” She answered him while setting the knife on the counter.

Adam seeing the knife drop felt way better knowing that he wouldn’t be in danger. Not that he was in danger before, but he felt much better without it being in her hands. It wasn’t just him who noticed that he felt calmer than before, Samantha also noticed the change he had.

“Listen… I didn’t meant to freak out before. It’s just that after what happened last night… and you coming out… my mind just couldn’t process everything.” Samantha said as she hung her head down in shame.

Adam thought about walking over and patting her shoulder letting her know things would be alright but he changed his mind. If he actually did that who knew how she would act. “Right, you’re not the one to blame. I should really fix my habit, but you know… I don’t really have much company.” Adam explained as he rubbed the back of his neck.

Samantha giggled. “You aren’t the only one.”

Adam’s expression changed fast. He thought she would at least have a few friends over from time to time especially how she looked. “You can’t be serious? Pull my leg aren’t you?” He asked her.

Samantha shook her head. “Nope. I haven’t had a conversation this long with anyone other than my professors.”

“Ouch, that sucks. You would think people especially males would be fawning all over you… I mean with the way you look and all.” Adam’s cheeks turned a bit reddish after completing Samantha on the way she looked.

“You would think… huh. The world works in strange ways though, I guess you can’t judge people by how they look. I haven’t had a true friend since middle school.” Samantha’s voice dropped after she said middle school. It seemed like she was sad, and remembered something.

“Really? I guess i’m lucky then. I play games and have a nice group of friends, if you want I can introduce you to some of them one day.”

“Really!? I mean… really? However being around a bunch of guys isn’t my thing…” Samantha said.

She really didn’t want to be around a bunch of males. If she were to hang out with them the looks she would receive would not be good for her at all. If anything she would rather hang out with some girls her age so they could talk about girly things. Also if she had more female friends she could ask them for advice, and go shopping with them.

Hearing that she didn’t want a bunch of males hanging around her made Adam laugh. He had a feeling she wouldn’t want to hang out with a lot of males, but he also had some female friends. Well, he knew them from his gaming experience and hung out with them a few times, so they could be considered friends. “Don’t worry, females play video games as well. I can introduce you to a few of them I know.”

“Really? I don’t think video games can be that fun… I mean you stare at a screen all day and play. Isn’t that wasting time?” She asked him.

Adam shook his head. “No, not really. Games have advanced beyond what you are thinking. I mean sure computer games are still around, but most people play Virtual Reality games. Besides, in game it gives you another form of achievement.”

“Virtual Reality huh… Isn’t that expensive?” Samantha asked as she leaned on the counter. It was as if she was truly interested in the conversation she was having with Adam.

“Eh, kinda. But you go to AMU, so you can’t talk about being expensive when the tuition for that place is through the roof.” Adam joking said.

Samantha laughed. “Right. Does everyone play Virtual Reality games? I mean how much fun is it really?” She asked Adam.

“Fun. If you ever get a capsule like that one.” Adam pointed his hand to the capsule in the corner. “Then I suggest you get Azure online for your first game. It’s like you and your worries just drift away. The company really gave it their all making it, it’s as if you are living another life.”

Samantha slowly nodded her head. “Mkay, I might give it a try when I have time.”

“You should. If you do ever join let me know and i’ll help you out. Well… that’s only if you pick the Vampire race.” Adam said.

Their conversation continued for quite some time. It went from school to gaming to jobs to just random things. Adam quite liked talking to Samantha about things. One thing he noticed was that she really wasn’t the quiet person he thought her out to be. Instead she was very interesting and had a lot to talk about.

“Ah, we spent so much time chatting we didn’t get to eat breakfast.” Adam said while getting off the bed.

Samantha didn’t hurry to grab the knife like before. Her eyes weren’t even glued on Adam, instead they were staring at the capsule in the corner.

“Sadly, if we get food we’ll have to go out… because I didn’t stock up on anything last night. I mean… you know.” Adam said while trying to avoid the topic.

He didn't want to make her remember the things that happened last night. Even if he did, there is nothing he can do about it. Adam figured once she was ready she would call the police and press charges against whoever did it. He figured she must have known who it was, or at least seen a glimpse of who did it.

“B-but I still haven’t washed up yet. And… my clothes are still at my apartment…” She replied to Adam.

Adam nodded his head. “Want me to go get you something? You can use my shower if you want.”

“NO!!” She didn’t hesitate to reply.

Adam didn’t understand why she didn’t want him to grab her something. It’s not like he would steal her things, he had his own stuff. Shortly after a few seconds he realized why she said that. If he were to get her some clothing that would also include her underwear. What girl that you just meet would want someone else to look at their underwear?

Adam laughed to himself. “Then you can go get it, and i’ll stand by the door.” He suggested to her.

“Alright.” She answered back.

Adam did like he said he would. He stood outside her door while she grabbed her clothes. Unlike how he suggested, she took a shower at her place instead. He figured she probably thought he would run in if she were in his place. He laughed to himself thinking about it.

After she came out, they went out to eat. It’s not like Adam was doing all of this out of concern. Sure, he wanted to make sure she was safe and all, but he also had nothing else to do. The twenty-four hour wait was long, so he had plenty of time to spare until he could log back into the game. He figured why not hang out with her until the time was up. That or he could browse the internet.

They returned to the apartment after a few hours. She looked at Adam who was putting his key in the door. “Thanks…” She softly said before she went back to her place.

“Huh?” Adam heard something, but he couldn’t make out what it was. He turned around, but he noticed that she was already closing her door. He thought about going to stop her, but he figured it would be best to leave her alone. If something happened he was sure she would come over to his place or something.

Adam opened the door and walked inside his apartment. He went to his bed and laid down while he closed his eyes. He still had a few hours until he could log back in, it was better for him to get some rest.

Adam woke up a few hours later and looked at the time. The cool down time for him to return was up, so he got up and went over to the capsule. Adam hopped in the capsule and watched it close. Placing the headband like object over his head, the air vents turned on.

Welcome back Four

A blue screen popped up while he was entering Azure online. Shortly after his vision turned black. There was nothing in sight, and no light could be seen. Four knew what this was, unlike the other classes who appear in a Church he appeared in a coffin. It’s not that he can’t appear in a Church, it’s just that Vampires don’t revive there.

Four pushed up on the coffin while he slid it off letting light shine through. ‘Fresh air’ Four thought to himself as he got up out the coffin. He looked around and noticed that he was in the basement of one of the houses. He knew that because he searched these houses before. ‘So that’s why they’re empty.’ Four said to himself as he started walking to the first floor.

The houses were empty because if the beginners died they would revive in a house. The villagers weren’t in this place because the players were here instead. If they died and revived in a villagers house then the npc’s would look at them strangely. Not to mention they might die or lose intimacy with them. It wouldn’t be strange for a npc to attack a player who magically appeared in their house.

“Welp, better get started.” Adam said to himself as he equipped his beginner's staff that was in his inventory.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Zu put out the campfire that Brent made last night. It was his first time sleeping outside, but it didn’t feel like it. Maybe it was because his wooden house felt the same only with a roof over his head.

Brent was the first of them to get up. He told Zu to put out the fire while he grabs checks the surroundings. It has only been a day since Zu met Brent, but he had a feel for him. Zu still wondered what he was if he wasn’t like the villagers nor the players, but just not as much as yesterday.

Zu grabbed the silver max the was leaning against a tree and grabbed it. This was the weapon he got yesterday after visiting ‘Forge of Steel’. The blacksmith was surprised to get a visitor. When he noticed Zu’s clothing he was slightly disappointed, but he didn’t shoo him away.

Zu approached the man and asked for a weapon that the blacksmith thought would suit him. When the blacksmith asked what he was good at, Zu said he didn’t know. The blacksmith laughed loud at Zu. He patted Zu on the shoulder telling him if he had to choose Zu’s weapon then he would be honored.

The blacksmith was not how Zu imagined him to be. He was not some older man in his forties that was muscular and had dirt on his clothing. Nor did he even look like a blacksmith to begin with. The blacksmith had some muscle, but it wasn’t enough for him to show off.

When Zu opened the door he found a young man who seemed to be in his late twenties leaning back in a chair with a book open. He noticed Zu and Brent come in so he hurriedly put the book away. The blacksmith had dirty brown hair and hazel eyes. His appearance could be considered handsome as well. If anything this man did not belong in a shop like that, he should belong to some high or middle class noble family.

When they were conversating yesterday, Zu got the man’s name. He is called Handson Bullock, the third son of the Bullock family. Zu learned from him that his family is spread all across the kingdom running and opening different branches of ‘Forge of Steel’ while the main branch is in the capital. Handson seemed quite knowledgeable, and suggested that Zu should have a mace instead of a sword.

Brent suggested a sword to Zu, while Handson said he should have a mace. When Zu asked why, Handson told him that it fit’s Zu’s build and the length is shorter. A mace deals damage just and can even hit harder than a sword if used right, not to mention it could also be used with magic. Zu’s eyes light up when he learned of what the Mace could do. Not only was this weapon able to attack in close range like a sword, it could also use magic. For Zu, this was the perfect weapon.

Zu nodded his head and agreed for Handson to make him a Mace. The charge for it was two gold, but since Zu was his first customer Handson gave it to him for one gold instead. After getting the mace, Brent said he should also get a piece of armor to protect himself.

Zu agreed, but there are many types of armor. There is cloth armor - that is easy to move around in but hardly has any protection. Leather armor - that is easy to move around in and has more defense than cloth armor, but it restricts mana flow a little. Next is armor - which is heavy and slows the wearer down, but has a lot of defense. Lastly there is heavy armor - which is extremely heavy, but it is so tough that even a blade of the same grade wouldn’t cut through it.

Out of the four types of armor, Zu chose the cloth armor. He chose this for two reasons. One being he needed another pair of clothing, and two that it was the cheapest one to get. Sure it cost him two gold just for one piece of clothing, but it looked good on Zu.

His tattered farmer clothes were no more, and in there place was a tan robe. Zu’s darker skin complimented the color perfectly, and he seemed like a new man with his new robe on.

After getting all he needed Handson told Zu that if he needed more equipment be sure to come back. Handson even said that if Zu brought in enough money he would make him a special outfit. Zu was eager to go out and get more money from the ‘Jumpers’ but Handson told him he didn’t have the materials right now. He also said that he doubted Zu would want to use it right now because the effects wouldn’t work.

After leaving ‘Forge of Steel’ Brent and Zu went out of the village and started searching for the two lost members of the Church. Zu tested out his mace on a few little rabbits and a couple of wolves. However the search of the two lost members was harder than Zu originally thought. Him and Brent couldn’t find any sight of the two members during the first day, so they decided to stop and camp out while they waited until sunlight. Thus brings us to now where Zu is standing ready to go.

Zu walked over the where Brent was standing and stood beside him. Brent’s eyesight was glued on something off in the distance, so Zu followed where he was looking. Zu saw a brown deer. The antlers on it’s head made a crown shape, and it was bigger than the wolves Zu fought before.

“What’s that?” Zu asked Brent.

Brent blinked a few times before he finally answered. “Zu we have a shit ton of luck. That’s the Deer King. They say that if you kill it and use shave off it’s antlers you can mix it with food or water. After you consume it, you’ll get rewarded… or so i’ve heard.”

“Really? That doesn’t sound quite right to be honest. Besides I don’t think it’s antlers would taste well…” Zu replied.

Brent nodded. “As I said, it’s just what I heard. However, if we kill it we’ll be able to sell it’s skin for quite the sum of money.” A look of greed flashed in Brent’s eyes as he eyed the Deer King.

Brent’s hands gripped the hilt of his daggers as he drew them out. He turned his head towards Zu and smiled. “Let’s go! Better get it first before those damn ‘Jumpers’ spot it.”

Brent ran towards the Deer King at a frightening speed, while Zu slowly followed behind. The Deer King noticed the two approaching and pointed it’s antlers down. Some kind of energy started gathering in it’s antlers as a red ball of light was formed. It raised it’s head before slamming it down. The red energy ball flew at Zu and Brent.

“Dodge Zu, that’s the Deer King’s signature move!” Brent yelled at Zu while he jumped to the side.

Zu jumped to the side as well while the energy ball flew past him. The ground underneath was charred, showing just how powerful the Deer King really is.

Brent dashed at the Deer King while he brandished his dagger and attacked it.

Zu felt something weird happen to his body. Suddenly the mace at in his hands seemed heavier than before. Zu tightened his grip on the mace as he approached the Deer King. Zu swung the mace at one of it’s legs.

The speed of the mace also seemed to drop. It wasn’t as fast as it was when he fought against the wolves or rabbits. When he first used the mace, it’s speed was actually greater than the sword he used. However he figured it was due to the skills he learned from fighting before.

The Deer King was busy targeting Brent who was dodging and ducking like a professional. Zu took this chance to continuously strike the Deer King.

Zu’s eye’s lit up. He didn’t think that he could learn a skill just from attacking. When he fought the little rabbits with Clare and the girls, he only learned some passive skills. Now he learned an actual skill he could use in combat. Zu couldn’t wait to use it.

He already knew that he didn’t need to say the name of the skill out loud. Zu used [Quick Strike] the moment he found an opening. His hand felt like it moved on it’s own. It quickly struck down on the Deer King - it was so fast even Zu could hardly see it.

[table]You’ve dealt 30 Damage to Deer King

Zu’s eye’s lit up. ‘So much damage!’ Zu said to himself. The Deer King was still focused on Brent, but it’s eyes also noticed Zu. Since he started causing it so much damage it actually started to picture him as some sort of threat.

Zu tried to use it once more, but it failed. His body didn't move at all, and instead a blue screen popped up.

[Quick Strike] is under cool down. Time remaining: 1 second

‘What? I can’t continue using it?’ Zu said to himself being slightly disappointed. He couldn’t believe that for him to re-use [Quick Strike], he had to wait another second. However that second passed by fast and Zu couldn’t wait any longer. Another [Quick Strike] struck the Deer King causing even more damage to it.

You’ve dealt 25 Damage to Deer King

The Deer King jumped back retreating at a distance as it’s eyes turned to Zu. When it was fighting with Brent, it thought that he would be the primary threat, but instead it was actually Zu. He bent his head down while energy gathered causing a red ball to appear. Zu already knew what it was doing and when it flew at him, he avoided.

“Wow Zu, you should really join the Army. I’m sure you’ll do just well!” Brent told him.

“No thanks. How does this thing survive our hits? Shouldn’t it be dead already?” Zu asked Brent.

“Nah, different beast have different amounts of vitality. The stronger beast can take a lot more hits than the weaker ones. That just means we’ll have to fight it longer.” Brent explained to Zu as he started attacking the Deer King once again.

Zu rushed the Deer King as well, only to fight it’s foot stomping towards him. Zu didn’t have time to roll out the way, so he swung his mace to counter the blow. His silver mace clashed with the Deer Kings hove, as it made a banging sound.

You’ve dealt 5 Damage to Deer King

Deer King is now stunned

Ding! You’ve learned Counter Blow

Counter Blow (A)

Attacking when the time is right is how you achieve victory over a stronger foe. When the timing is just right, your opponent will be stunned.

‘Cool!’ Zu said to himself while he starting bashing the Deer King endlessly with attacks. He wasn’t the only one who took this chance to go all out as Brent’s attacking speed increased and he dealt the Deer King tons of damage.

“Look! I boss!” A voice called out in the distance.

“Oh shit. We the first ones to find it!” Another voice said.

“Two NPC’s are fighting it! Let’s go before it’s dead!” Another voice called out.

A group of three ‘Jumpers’ came and started attacking the Deer King. It was already low on health since Zu and Brent were beating on it. They considered this pure luck, finding a boss that is wounded would only mean they can get free exp. Not to mention it was only three of them. NPC’s didn’t count when it came to who dealt the most damage, so they could still get the extra fame and stats!

The three ‘Jumpers’ started attacking the Deer King helping dwindle down it’s HP. Soon under the attacks of Brent, Zu and the three ‘Jumpers’ the Deer King was on it’s last leg. Zu dodged a blow at was coming at him while he used [Quick Strike] to attack the Deer King.

Ding! Congratulations the Deer King has been slayed

The players who have did the most damage are:

1: Zu

2: Cabbage

3: Fin

Those three will be awarded with +10 extra stat points along with +50 fame

Ding! Congratulations to player Zu for getting the last hit

Player Zu will receive +5 extra stat points along with +25 fame

You’ve received 550 exp

Ding! You’ve leveled up

+50 HP +50 MP +10 SP

A white light was shined on Zu as he leveled up.

“What the fuck!?” One of the three ‘Jumpers’ yelled angrily. He glared at Zu with killing intent.

“How the hell are you even a ‘Player’!?!? You are a damn NPC why do you even receive stat points and level up!” He yelled at Zu.

Zu shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t know why he appeared, but he was happy because he leveled up from it and got extra stat points. “No idea.” Zu replied.

“Y-You! Give me my damn stat points and fame!” The ‘Jumper’ yelled at Zu. He clenched his sword tight while he grinned his teeth together.
