Chapter 185

Arc 16 - The Fastest Man Alive - Part 22

London:

Earth, a small blue planet in the Milky Way Galaxy, was always ignorant of everything in existence, either by their own choice or by a Celestial design.

They believed humanity was alone in the universe and had different understandings about the creation of the world.

However, today, their minds exploded with the overload of information.

Until today, they did not know about the existence of Gods, angels, monsters and more. So, everyone was quiet and tried to swallow it all in.

Then suddenly, Nazar, a god-like creature as they believed, was killed by a new entity that appeared on this planet. But just a moment later, he returned from the dead.

And the world became even more confused and surprised.

Just a second after, he vanished along with the new entity.

But then, in another place, just as they blinked their eyes, Nazar appeared once again in front of their eyes.

However, he was different.

His lifeless dead body was supported by something invisible.

They could not see its face, but they could feel what it was feeling right now.

It was victorious, feeling unstoppable, and at the top of the world.

The Queen smiled widely at Nazar, “What a wonderful world this is, don’t you agree, my love?”

Nazar wanted to free himself from her, but he couldn’t.

The pain was far too overwhelming, and the loss of power made it even harder to breathe.

He was on his last breath, and he could not think at all.

But despite all that, Nazar saw the images of his loved one for one last time.

“Ahhh, just watch, your precious world...”

Nazar’s body slumped forward and fell to the ground very slowly as his life began to fade away.

“A tiny, wonderful world, right?”

His vision turned black, and his lifeless body fell on his back.

But even then, with everything he had, he forced his eyes open one last time and he could only see the grey buildings that pierced the skies itself, and the kept on growing the closer he went to the ground.

Ah...

“Unleash your true power, wish for it, and you shall not die today, God.”

What a pathetic end… To expect something like that from them…

“Even the mightiest of weapons is useless before your power; Absolute Wish, is it not?”

His spine clashed with the ground, breaking his already broken bones further.

Then the back of his head hit the ground, bouncing a few times.

It seemed as if the sky was coming closer and then moving away.

Then I choose...

His head rolled to the side and with his flickering vision, he caught glances of a city he lived in and all he could see was horrified eyes staring right into his soul.

Then I choose…

His arms plunged into the ground in the end, they bounced a few times before sticking to the ground lifelessly.

I CHOOOOOOOSEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

He made his choice, his final choice, a selfish choice.

He was willing to go to any length for the lives of his loved ones in this life, but when he had to choose between his own life and the lives of those who could be used as collateral damage in his conflict, he made the wrong decision.

And so, his choice was made.

Death.

The irises in his eyes vanished as life finally faded from his eyes, gone forever.

His white lifeless eyes stared back into the soul of everyone whose eyes met with his.

And so, the God of Creation, the Supreme God of All, the Great Destroyer and the Great Creator, Nazar, died!

The momentum-less universe stared at one spot in this world, a single spot which could be seen by everyone.

The dead God was staring at the creation coldly as it began to flicker.

His death will cause the end of all… The Queen remembered something.

He is God, the supreme creator, so with his death, his creation -- his light, will cease existing.

However!

She was not worried.

But a mere inconvenience, this is

“Copy: Absolute Wish: Become mine!”

And so, creation became hers, and its destruction was averted.

And all it took was a fraction of a second.

“Heh.”

Seeing how he was dead and no longer a threat to her new toy, the Queen flickered out, not to be seen by anyone.

Nazar's dead body laid down on the ground and the world watched with wide, confused, and surprised eyes.

The speechless universe couldn't look in a different direction.

They were forced to watch the dead body stare back into their very being.

In this immovable world, crackles of electricity shot out of the ground.

As the bright lights vanished, the confused speedster glanced around.

He thought he was dead, he should have been dead, but it seemed his fate had gotten worse.

He couldn't die, he was cursed for an eternal life.

But…

All is not lost. NOT YET!

Rewind convinced himself of his end. He believed he had a chance, a chance of eternal death.

Abruptly, he moved his head around as he searched for the golden sword of death.

However, he did not need to look too far, it was lying just not too far from him.

Without hesitation, the blur picked up the sword and stabbed himself in the stomach, wishing to be erased forever.

"!"

In anger, he slammed the sword into the ground and screamed, "AGGHHHHH!"

Every muscle in his body flexed hard, turning into diamond.

With every scream, his muscles stretched further, as if it would explode any moment.

To normal residents of this world, it seemed Rewind was screaming in pain, but they were wrong.

He was screaming out of anger, out of disappointment, and failure.

The fastest creature in existence tried to rewrite his concept, his core, but something was preventing him.

The sword should have killed him, but he didn't die.

Rewriting his concept should have granted him death, but he didn't die.

So!

What if…

He is just a mortal, a mortal who exists on this low world.

But some mortals have the power to exceed their predetermined parameters.

Rewind, however, is not that mortal.

My last chance, I need to know….

Once again, the monster screamed, creating cracks in the reality.

Creating holes across time and space, across reality and its many phases, the universe should have begun crumbling, if it wasn’t for Rewind. Everything was frozen, including the destruction of all.

Rewind looked up, he looked beyond the veils of normal reality and saw the crack he had formed between the Higher Planes of Existence and the Third Plane of Existence.

He understood what he was doing was wrong - at least by the standards of others, but this was his last chance at salvation, and perhaps last chance at the salvation of this universe.

This is justice, his justice.

He will be a nameless hero, forever cursed and shunned away, but he would have saved everything.

As the cracks grew larger, Rewind jumped up towards the burning hells and let himself be crushed out of existence.

Every world is larger than the previous, every world above requires a new form of concept - existence. A lower dimensional being cannot hope to survive in a higher plane as their concept will be forced to face complete and utter annihilation. The same applies to people from higher worlds, they must rewrite their concept, their core, in order for this world to sustain them. If they do not, the universe will perish.

So, when Rewind went up, without the protection of the sword, his core and concept was destroyed, which led to the death and destruction of his soul and body.

He ceased existing.

“NOOOOOOOO!” lightning danced around in an empty spot on Earth and rebirthed the entity known as Rewind.

He was hoping he would die; he was hoping he would cease existence, but it seems her curse was just too powerful.

He screamed in pain and clenched his fist.

He swung his fist and tried to split the planet into a billion pieces.

“...”

However, as his fist was swinging, his eyes laid their sight on his dead friend, causing Rewind to come to an abrupt pause.

The blur’s clenched fist slowly lost its interest the more he looked at his dead friend.

To him, Nazar was an ally, a friend, whom he was ready to kill for his own goal, so why was he angry? Why was he feeling regretful? What changed?

“You died,” the blur in a black costume spoke in a faint voice. "You, the unkillable one, died."

Rewind waited, he waited, and waited for the corpse to speak back to him.

Denying reality, he kicked Nazar's body, throwing it far away.

"YOU DIED!"

Was he convincing himself of Nazar’s death? Or was he showing off his victory?

Even Rewind was not very sure of his own feelings.

"YOU DIED! ARGGGHHHH," sparks of electricity shot out of his hand, which clutched onto the corpse and pulled it in. "You are dead…" with burning jealousy, he glanced down at the body of his old friend.

He was meant to die today, it should have been his end, but where did it all go wrong?

He wasn't attempting to fight against his master, so why did she curse him?

Why did she give him eternal life?

Why did she curse him to live in these planes forever?

What had he done wrong?

"Lucky," he added slowly.

He slowly put the body on the ground.

As he was about to move forward once again, about to leave for a never-ending life of loneliness, a golden light broke through the blue skies, and in the next instant, before this God of Speed could react, Rewind found his neck broken, and his core destroyed in the process.

"YOU MURDERER!" as anger foamed out of her mouth, Aarin screamed into Rewind's dead ear.

❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢

Moments earlier:

Aarin groaned loudly as she tried to move in this immovable universe.

She was an angel, an emotion, a concept in this universe, yet she found it hard to move. Rewind was stealing speed from everyone and everything.

But even then, she was an angel, an angel whose power was increased significantly by an external source. So, she was not the same, she was different.

Her wings shot out widely, her halo spun fast over her golden hair, and as golden aura surrounded her, she groaned.

The laws of the universe were in the palm of her hand, she was free to change it in any way she willed it.

And so, she clenched her hand, breaking apart these laws and recreating it in a way that will suit her.

After all, these are higher dimensional beings, seeing this world as nothing but a flat paper. To them, these worlds are meaningless, and can be reshaped in any form they wish it.

Rewriting the laws that kept the universe afloat, she managed to move.

She rewrote the universal structure of the cosmos, so Rewind's control was minimal.

Aarin had no time to let out a sigh of relief, she merely flew towards Earth at extreme speeds.

But after crossing worlds and galaxies, she was forcefully stopped again.

"!!!'

Everything was frozen once again, standing in one place.

Time and space had paused.

"?!!"

In anger, she gritted her teeth.

What the… Just how much control does he have?!

She changed the cosmos once again, but it seems Rewind's subconscious mind had adapted to her power, so it did not allow her to change the laws as she saw fit.

Just WHAT IS HE?

As anger fluctuated within her beating heart, her power increased significantly.

Before she could realise that many celestial bodies had ceased existing.

Angels, demons, and the Gods, when they descend to lower planes, must shrink their physical form and their core, or else they could cause unprecedented damage to this small multiverse.

In the past, Aarin was one of the few angels who followed this role very closely, but today, for some reasons, she could not help but worry, so she came rushing down as fast as she could.

She managed to shrink herself to a manageable size, but her power was far too much for this universe.

So, when her anger overflowed, the power ran wild across the space, erasing worlds.

Aarin realised her mistake, but it was too late, she could not put a cap on her overflowing power.

But deep down, somehow, she knew, the worlds she just killed were empty, swapped with others in the multiverse.

She shook her head, but by doing so, she shook the entirety of the universe with her.

The concepts and laws of the universe are being forced into a place where nothing can move, even thoughts are becoming hard to “travel”, but what if...

She clasped her hands together as her body began to radiate with golden energies.

Transcendent energies, huh? I don’t know what that means, and I don’t want to learn how dangerous it is, but if its name holds any meaning, then...

If this energy comes from a higher being, a being who is above and beyond this Ultraverse, then does it mean it will grant Aarin more control compared to beings from this Ultraverse? Or does it allow her to bypass the restrictions of this world, including this situation?

It is worth a try.

As her body began to radiate an even brighter light, her warmth pushed against the cold of this momentum-less world. It was eating away Rewind’s control and fixing the damage he was causing.

At that time, she did not realise, but the more power she unleashed, her wings and halo started to disappear, as if she no longer needed them.

I can do it!

This is the power of higher beings, power that surpasses science, magic, and logic. The ultimate card in the deck.

By the time her light reached the far ends of the cosmos, it would have taken too long, so she began to fly towards Earth at extreme speeds.

Within a few fractions of a second, she reached our galaxy.

But at that moment, her heart skipped a beat as her body came to a stop.

Her eyes opened wide as a confused look overtook her face.

Aarin’s mind went completely blank, and her vision flickered for a brief moment.

“...Huh?”

The impossible had happened, and she could not comprehend that.

God had died.

...No...

Her brother has died.

No…

The silly and annoying little brother she knew had died.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Her speed increased even more, and before she knew it, she was already on Earth, and she saw him.

Rewind, the fastest creature in existence.

Upon seeing that dreaded creature, Aarin’s fist clenched hard, so hard her fingers could stab into her own skin and cause it to bleed.

Her clenched fist swung forward.

Aarin’s clenched fist full of anger and sorrow and confusion landed on Rewind’s neck, obliterating it into small pieces.

Rewind’s head flew around like a football before it dropped into the ground and rolled.

Now that Rewind was “dead”, she came to an abrupt pause, which created a dangerous shockwave and nearly threw the planet to another star system. However, she regained control over her power and contained it before it damaged anyone.

“Nazar...”

As soon as she saw her dead brother, she fell to her knees as her eyes began to well up.

“Y-you…” in a barely audible voice, she said. “You aren’t dead, are you?”

Her head began to sink lower and lower in disbelief.

Even the angel of an emotion couldn’t control her emotions at the moment.

“It’s fine, let me heal you.”

She rubbed her hands together to convert all of her energies into life force.

She gently placed her palms on his chest and flowed that energy into him.

However, there was no response.

But she did not care.

“Remember what you said the other day?” she sniffed as tears streamed down from her crystal blue eyes. “You said you did not want to die anymore. It was the best thing you had ever said.”

She gently pumped his chest as she flowed more life force into it.

“I don’t know what changed, but I am glad… I am glad you changed your mind. Was it Laura?” she nodded rapidly as she forced a smile. “Yes, I am sure. She is a great woman. She will make a great wife one day, and you a great husband. I am sure. Yes, I am sure.”

Aarin began absorbing the life force of the Ultraverse - Lucifer - and began pumping it into Nazar.

“Since you changed your mind about a few things...” Aarin chuckled. “Are you going to have any children? I hope so. I want to see my nephew. Or niece. No, I want to see both.”

Her method was not working, but a Goddess heard her cries and appeared behind her - however, no one besides Aarin could feel her presence.

The ghost-like Goddess of Life, Esme, touched the back of Aarin’s hand, amplifying her efforts.

He had transcended life and death, so Esme could not do anything on her own, but she could help in other ways.

“I better start thinking about their names, maybe you won’t accept them,” she scoffed. “And that’s fine. But I can at least suggest some, can’t I?”

She clenched her fingers on his chest, stabbing into his lifeless flesh.

“So…” Aarin shut her eyes closed as even more tears streamed down her face. “Come back.”

Raising her head, she screamed to the heavens, “SO COME BAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!”

The skies roared with thunder as lightning shot down right at Aarin and went through her veins into Nazar. Thunders of a million universes shot right into him.

She gave him a shock as well as putting more life force into him.

“DON’T YOU DARE LEAVE!”

Aarin pumped his chest with force as thunders struck on his body.

But even then, there was no response.

He was dead.

Aarin knew that, but she wanted to deny reality and think otherwise.

လလလ

While Aarin was busy with trying to revive the dead God, the world stared at her in an astonished manner.

Their world view had been destroyed so many times today, they lost count.

Now, they were wondering who this thing was.

She had no halo nor wings, so they questioned the origin of this monster.

While they were staring at this one spot on Earth, the blur rose from the dead.

With a flash of blinding light, his head had sewn itself back on his head.

He glanced around him and saw the Golden Angel trying to revive his dead friend.

But he knew better, so his eyes exploded with energy, and he ran away.

However!

There were beings in the universe who wanted this monster dead, for their own gains, obviously.

First, Vilramore tried to encase him in negative space, but Rewind was simply too fast for this universal entity.

Daya wasted no time and he tried to encase him with a few million universes with null space - a space devoid of anything and everything. But even then, Rewind was too fast and escaped from their traps.

Daya, however, did not give up. So, he changed his plan.

No, to be precise, this was his real plan.

He had used those last few moments to encase the entire multiverse in a barrier made of Lucifer’s energies, which were connected to the highest Plane of Existence.

Daya was sure this would work, but Rewind jumped through the barrier, surprising everyone. Lucifer, however, smiled thinly - albeit no one saw him.

From the Sixth Dimensional Plane of Existence, Chronos - the God of Time and Luna - the Goddess of Space, worked together to stop Rewind in his tracks.

The two of them did not particularly care about Nazar or the lives in the multiverse, but Esme wanted to stop Rewind’s madness against the universe and life. Esme could not affect the speedster, so she asked for favour.

If Arael were here, perhaps this would have been no trouble for the Gods, but he is missing, so it's up to these two Gods to stop this madman, and they found it hard to contain this monster.

Chronos tried to stop him before his powers manifested, but the emotionless time found itself surprised when it learned of the fact that Rewind does not exist in the past.

When the Gods and the universe failed, Rewind was unstoppable. No one could stop him.

He could bring about the end of universes and no one would be able to protect themselves.

Rewind was moving left and right in the multiverse, perhaps looking for something to destroy, or something that could kill him.

“Hm.”

When the Gods and the universe failed, it was up to a single mortal to stand his ground against this unstoppable force.

“Leave it to me,” the elf ruler of Outox of Empire, cracked his fingers. “I know how to stop him.”
