Chapter 164
Arc 16 - The Fastest Man Alive - Part 1
In a faraway universe, a golden sword floated in the middle of nowhere.
It moved left and right, almost as if it was looking for someone or something.
The sword flashed a few times however nothing happened.
Then it tilted itself from left to right.
The sword flashed once again.
But this time something happened.
The universe which stretched forever tilted sideways - to the right.
Despite not having a proper shape of form, the universe had an axis point. But that axis point was manipulated and changed.
Then the sword clattered in its place - left, right, up, down, forward, backward. The odd movement caused the universe to come apart slowly.
In the dark universe, small white bubbles started to slowly materialise.
As the clattering of the sword slowed down, the small bubbles of faint blue light from across the universe started to come together in front of the sword.
Once again, the sword flashed brightly and caused the small bubbles of light to flash brightly too, almost lightning up the dark universe.
"Why?"
As the bright light slowly dimmed, someone spoke angrily and painfully.
"I finally found temporary peace yet woke me up from my slumber for no reason."
A thing - which sounded like a man - was standing in front of the sword.
It has no form as it was just a blur of faint blue light.
"What joy do you get from angering me, object?!"
The blur moved and held the sword by its tip, trying to crush it between the palm of its hand.
"The God Slayer… YOU WOKE ME UP FOR THAT?!"
The blur hurled the sword away through the universes.
"I have learned, I cannot kill him--"
The sword flew across the dark space and floated in front of the blur, angering him even further.
The sword flared brightly.
"You can?" the blur's mighty angry voice diminished.
The surprised and the confused blur added slowly, "That is a possibility…?"
The golden sword flashed.
"I see."
The blur moved his hand and held the sword in the way it should be - not from the tip but from the grip.
He tightened his grip on this golden sword.
"This is…" a hint of surprise floated in his voice. "This sensation…"
The blur could not explain what he was feeling.
His mind went blank as the sword became something which he could no longer comprehend.
"Like a shooting star…"
The blur's voice slowly vanished and became inaudible.
The blur, who had lost all hope, smiled. He could see a faint light at the end of the dark tunnel.
"I will do the bidding of your master; I will slay God for you."
And so, an old friend returned to the fray.
Can the fastest man alive succeed where the others failed?

Monday, 12th of July - Plymouth, UK:
All around the world, it was late in the afternoon in the scorching summer. The reality of the world has recently been changed where they share the same time zone and seasons. People were scared to question this odd world even in their minds. They did not know who did it, but they had an incredibly good idea about the culprit.
Inside his childhood home, in his old bedroom, Nazar - the culprit for this change - had his eyes closed, unaware of the new developments in his universe.
It has been a week since went to sleep but he is yet to wake up from his slumber.

Those who lived with him quickly became worried and wondered if he was okay.
But their worries quickly left them when they realised who they were talking about. They know about his invincibility, so there was no need to be too worried.
They went on with their lives - as they should - but there were still some lingering feelings of worry.
"Argh," the white haired and red eyed man sat up as he felt great pain in his head. "That took too long."
He sat on the bed for a few moments and massaged his head.
Once the headache left him, he removed the blanket to stand up but instead, he froze with horrified thoughts roaming in his head.
His shirt was missing, and he did not remember removing it.
"!!"
Through his mind, a lot of horrible thoughts run.
A few months ago, he lost his consciousness a few times and when he woke up, he found himself in an undesirable state. The Queen - a mysterious enemy of his - had her way with him.
So, not finding his shirt, his heart rate soared. He felt like it would jump out of his throat.
Before jumping to any conclusions, his red eyes became white.
He looked across the room and sensed no odd energy, so he relaxed his shoulders a little.
Even if she removed any traces, I will be able to see them. Energy cannot be removed completely.
A black shirt wove itself around his bare skin as he stood up.
While he convinced himself that nothing had happened, he was still feeling anxious.
What if he was wrong? What if something bad did happen?
He was asleep for far too long; anything could have happened.
!!
He swallowed his saliva.
My body is fine, this room is fine, but--
However, before he could do something rash in worry, the door opened slowly.
His eyes lied on a beautiful woman with black hair and brown eyes.
"I wonder if he is oka--"
Her somewhat worried face immediately lit up brightly as she looked up at him
The confused Nazar tilted his head slightly as she ran towards him at full speed.
She jumped onto him and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.
"I missed you soooooooooooooo much!"
Her almost excited shout caused his ears to ring this early in the day - for him.
However, before he could say anything he fell on his back in the bed with her on top.
She snuggled her head next with happy noises he never heard from her before.
Suddenly his confusion was thrown away and he smiled happily.
"Me too," he spoke softly as he patted the back of her head. "Me too."
He kissed her on her head softly.
He was asleep for just a week but in that place, there was nothing he could touch or smell, so he loved the sensation of touching her and smelling her.
He did not realise how great the material world was until recently.
All his life he looked to the far future and worried about the final Void. To get used to it, he would spend extensive time in other dimensions, but in doing so, he had missed on a lot of good in this wonderful world of his.
"You smell nice."
"Creepy," her short yet disgusted tone was soon replaced by a soft tone. "But thanks."
"And you feel nice too."
"Thanks."
"That crop top looks really good on you. You should wear it more often."
"Is that so?"

"Mm," he replied slowly.
"Then I shall do that. But…"
She raised her head a little with a complicated smile on her face.
"Are you sure you are my Nazar?"
"Yes?"
"Who taught you how to compliment?"
Nazar laughed.
"I may not look like it, but I can seduce women."
"Somehow I doubt that," her quick rebuttal caused his proud smile to vanish off his face.
"Hrk. Come on now, have a little faith in me."
She scoffed and kissed him on the lips.
She then put her head next to his on his arm and let out a sigh of relief.
"You know, earlier this year we did not see each other for months, but I didn't feel like I missed you or felt too long… but now, it felt like you were gone for years. I am glad you came back quicker."
"That is true…" he felt a little guilty because he did not think too much about her when he was asleep. “I like that the distance between us has reduced.”
“Mm,” she nodded. "Also, are you okay?"
Hearing her worried question, he looked at her in the eyes and smiled to reassure her.
*Yes. Couldn't be better."
"Then why were you asleep for so long?"
To her curious question, he thought about it briefly. There were a lot of reasons as to why he slept for so long and it will take too long to list them.
So, he went with the safest option.
"It's…" he chuckled, "long story."
Laura narrowed her eyes angrily - albeit sarcastically.
"Nazar," she said in a firm tone.
"Yes?" his expression turned confused.
"Be honest."
He stared at her in the eyes but seeing how she won't shake, he looked away and stared at the ceiling.
"Whenever I slept, I saw someone in my dreams who… To make it less complicated, that person has taken over an aspect of my mind. So, I had to tire myself to a state of exhaustion and retake what was once mine."
I cannot say that I broke my mind and had to restitch it from scratch. Although it did return my lost memories and made free completely, that will worry her for no reasons. He smiled in a relieved manner.
"Oh."
His answer worried her, so her expressions returned to normal.
She smiled widely.
"I am glad you are okay."
"Thank you."
He raised his arm slightly and Laura's head rolled closer to him.
"So, how was your week?"
"Awkward," she replied with an exasperated sigh. "Around them, it was awkward without you. It felt weird. Except for Emma, the others still feel like strangers."
"Hm. Make sense."
"Do you get used to things quicker?"
"It depends. Some, yes. Most… not really."
"I see."
"But I suppose it takes time to feel comfortable around strangers," he spoke with a distant look in his eyes. To him, those people in his house were family, but no matter how long it took, he could not get used to them. Then again, he did not try ridiculously hard. But it is something he regrets greatly. "Anyway, so you didn't do anything?"
"For most part, no. But I went out with Emma yesterday and that's where I bought this," she pointed to her new clothes with her index finger.
"Ah…"
He was reminded of how he woke up just a minute ago.
"Do you know what happened to my shirt?"
"Oh!"
Laura sat up in bed abruptly.
"That's what I wanted to talk about."
"..."
His mind wandered off to something very wrong.
His heartbeat so fast, he thought it was thunder.
Was I right…?
He swallowed his saliva as he waited for Laura to finish her sentence.
Her lips loosened as she began speaking, but for someone who can perceive time a lot slower compared to mortals, the worry in his heart skyrocketed. Her words were slow, before it reached his ears, he had created bad conclusions in his head.
He thought he was finally free from her, but maybe not.
Wait a minute. I might be jumping the gun here.
He took a deep breath and lowered his power levels to be on the same level as the woman he loves dearly.
And at long last, her words reached him properly.
"...Huh?" the bewildered Nazar stared at her with a gaped mouth.
"As I was saying, I took off your shirt because it seemed uncomfortable. But there was… this... uh, weird light?" she squinted her right eye a little in confusion as she tried to explain what she saw that day. "But yeah, it was glowing from neck down. What's up with that?"
"Oh…"
He relaxed his shoulders in a relaxed manner.
As his body felt light, he closed his eyes for a moment.
He had thought wrong. So, he smiled in a relieved manner.
"That is a measure against attacks… unfavourable attacks. It should protect me."
"Hm?" the confused Laura tilted her head in a confused manner as she wondered what he was talking about. However, she arrived at no answer.
"But that doesn't matter now," he got out of the bed and stretched his arms. "Everything’s good.”
“Is that so?”
Nazar turned around and looked at her happily.
“Mm-hmm,” he nodded. “So, what happened to earth in the last week?”
“Oh yeah, about that,” Laura moved in the bed and sat on the edge of it. “So, what happened with the zombie apocalypse?”
“It finished before it caused more damage.”
"How exactly?"
"Hmm, had to bring back the Angel of Death. He was killed by Alice."
"Wait," with a hint of fear in her eyes, her surprised words blurted out. "That -- the woman who was here last week -- Alice?"
Nazar nodded with his eyes.
"I did know… but… I mean…" not knowing how to continue her words, she just shut her mouth.
Speaking of, I wonder if she is okay...
From his back, another Nazar came out and flew away. And then another. And then another.
Like flies, they flew away, leaving this world.
"Uhhh?"
"Avatar. I need to check up on Alice. And some other places."
Seeing how the confused look was still visible on her face, he decided he should explain.
"It's like clones but they have all my intelligence and thought process. And my power. So, I don't have to control them like I would with clones."
"??"
She was still confused.
"Sooo… you could have an army of you running around the universe? Each as powerful as you?"
"Not precisely," he sat next to her and explained. "Only a fraction of my power. But yes, I could have a universe full of my avatars."
In front of the two of them, a map of the Ultraverse appeared. From separate locations, differing lines pointed out.
"I sent one to Alice's house, he should be no weaker than Eddie. The one I sent to hell should be no weaker than the Demon King. The one I sent to Lucifer's dimension should be on the same level as him. The one I sent to meet Daya should be no different. The one I sent to Sixth Dimensional Plane of Existence is similar. It's just so they don't die at the hand of an enemy."
"But what if they need more power?"
"They can just ask, and I will provide it for them."
"I see…"
With dazzling eyes, she let out a sigh.
She looked away into the distant sky outside of the window with eyes full of desires.
"Sometimes I wish I could see what you see. It seems quite… fascinating."
"You could."
"Huh?" she turned her head abruptly towards him.
"Yeah, I could make you look through the eyes of avatars?"
"Mm," her sudden excitement dulled down. "Those places don't seem too fun. Thanks, though."
"Hmm," Nazar looked down as he rubbed his chin. "I have tried this only once or twice before - albeit with people who were accustomed to existing on higher planes - but maybe I could let you borrow my body. Maybe not now but later when I send them to a good place?"
"Huh, that sounds weird. But interestingly, how exactly?"
"Well, it's easy," he looked up and placed his hand on her head. "I just swap our consciousness."
"Hm," Laura stared at him for a good few moment as she thought. While the idea interested her, she also found it weird. So, with a complicated smile, she gave him her answer, "Maybe some other time. But thanks again."
"Don't mention it," he moved his hand away from her head. "Anytime."
"You are very generous today," she said with a sarcastic laugh.
Nazar smiled evilly.
"Hm?" Laura smiled stiffly as she saw that.
"Oh, but it's not free."
With cold sweats pouring down her face, she averted her gaze.
"I will require your services in return," like a mad scientist, he declared his condition.
"I knew it!" she spoke under her breath.
"I was thinking… Maybe cosplay?"
"No!" she rejected his condition strongly. "I will NOT be doing that."
"Aww…" the evil smile on his face had vanished into a distant world. Like a dejected puppy, he said, "So, close."
"..."
Laura, who saw his expression change so drastically, rolled her eyes and let out a sigh.
"..."
Laura looked away, avoiding looking at him as she thought.
She felt a little bad for him - her biggest mistake.
"...Ugh," she grunted softly and spoke slowly. "Maybe one day."
"Yes!" he cheered victoriously.
From the corner of her eyes, she glanced at him, only to find him looking at her with a smug smile.
"Damn it," she regretted her answer. "I shouldn't have felt bad for you."
"I am yet to be defeated."
"Oh yeah?"
"Mm-hmm," he nodded with confidence.
"So, you don't kneel before me?"
"That's…. A different story."
"And I know your weakness," Laura smiled thinly - like an evil mage.
"Oh?" he was interested in knowing about his weakness.
"Sit down," she pointed to the floor in front of her with her chin.
Since he was curious about his weakness, he did as she said.
He sat in front of her legs and faced the opposite direction.
"Plus one for me."
"Hrn?"
Then she put her thighs around his head, squashing his head between them.
"Mmmm," with a blissful look on his face, he closed his eyes and savoured the moment.
"That's your weakness. And now that's two points for me. Easy."
"I will give you a hundred more," like a child who had eaten enough and was satisfied, he spoke slowly and with great gratitude. "Five minutes and you can get fifty million points."
"Heh. Easy."
"My final death should be like this. I need to go out with my head being squashed by your thighs," he was so satisfied and happy, but even then, he was drooling. In barely audible voice, he added, "It's like chicken wings, crispy and tender…. simply perfect. I could almost eat it…"
"Hey!"
"Don't worry, I won't eat you... Maybe," he chuckled.
Laura smiled a nostalgic smile as she looked at the orange sky out of the window. Although it was just afternoon, the colour of the sky looked as if it was near evening.
It seems Emma had changed the colour of the sky. Afterall, this looks better than a clear blue sky.
"You said the same thing that day."
“Speaking of, I recently regained my memory of that time, but I just want to confirm if it's right. Let’s start with that day.”
“Hm,” Laura thought about it for a moment before she began to explain. “Well, it was mid-October, and you were sitting alone in your class. I was in the same building and when I saw you sitting alone, I entered the room and… You know what the first thing I heard?”
“...”
Nazar wondered if he wanted to hear the end of that sentence.
“Wanna hear it?”
“I… You know what? Go ahead.”
“When I entered the room, you just sighed and then said, “I wish she would sandwich me between her huge juicy thighs, breasts, and butt. I can die happily ever after.””
Nazar’s blissful smile vanished as his face grew red due to embarrassment.
“For fuck’s sake… I actually said that?!”
“Oh yes, I am not making any of this up.”
Nazar groaned loudly.
“I wish I could kill my younger self,” he said exasperatedly. He turned around and looked at her in the eyes, still feeling very embarrassed. “So, then what happened?”
“And then I awkwardly said, “Umm”. And when you looked, you saw me waving my hand even more awkwardly. One thing led to another and before we knew, we are having sex.”
“Uh… That escalated quickly.”
“Mm,” she nodded. “I was wearing a one piece long black beautiful dress and you know what happened to it?”
“Uh… Do I want to know?”
“Yeah, you raw dogged me and stained my clothes AND it was in the class.”
“Raw…?” the unfamiliar word caused him to squint his eyes in confusion. “Anyway… Why are you making it sound like I forced myself---” his eyes widened in horror as his mind wandered off to create conclusions, awful and grim conclusions. “Wait, did I...”
Many scenarios ran through his head and nothing led to something good.
Their relationship started in an odd way, so what if he was controlled back then - by a personality of his own - to do something terrible to her? And what if he manipulated her into ignoring it?
“What? No,” she shook her head with a disgusted look. “What kind of conclusion-- What is wrong with you?”
“...”
Nazar relaxed his shoulders.
“Oh.”
His sour emotions caused the blissful feelings to go away, so he stood up. He strode towards the window and looked outside.
“How did you reach a conclusion like that?”
“I… I don’t know.”
Images of the Queen and her evil laughter stroke his mind.
Damn it.
His body started to shake.
The sensation of cold in his bones caused Nazar to swallow his saliva.
How…?
He had bathed in the frozen waters of an icy world, had danced with death, and resided in the Void but had never felt cold like he did now. The thought of the Queen's fingers strolling on his naked skin caused his heart to clench and freeze.
I have died many times… I have had my body ripped into a thousand pieces, had my soul destroyed, and more… But I have forgotten them all as if it was nothing. But this… It happened ten years ago, so why…. WHY WON’T IT GO AWAY?!
He looked down at his hand which shook vigorously and could not stop it.
He forcefully increased the temperature in his body to calm down, but it did not work.
“I have been hurt in the worst ways possible, but this… This which did not hurt me physically… Why can’t I get over it?” he muttered under his breath.
Laura heard his mumbling and asked in a worried manner, “Something wrong?”
That small question caused the shaking of his body to stop promptly.
As she felt her warm hand on his shoulder, the cold was swept away like it was never there.
As always, I get saved by her.
Nazar scoffed.
He inhaled deeply to relieve himself.
“It’s nothing… One of my avatars just died.”
“Ah… Are you going to go there now?”
“Nah, it should be fine.”
“I see...”
The atmosphere in the room grew awkward and Nazar blamed himself for it.
At the end, I am always the grim part of this house.
He clicked his tongue as silently as possible and changed the mood once again.
“Hey, so, uh, what are you-- Ah, when are you going back to Italy?”
“Oh, the day after tomorrow,” she spoke with a somewhat depressed look on her face. “I guess, I will miss this place,” she added in a barely audible tone.
“I see...”
He was not sure how to react to that.
He already knew she was going back, but at the same time, he felt a little complicated about the situation. He was hoping they could stay together here for longer.
Ever since they reunited, there has been nothing but problems in his life, so he found it hard to spend good time with her. If anything, he caused her worries.
But if possible, he wants to change that.
“Are you doing anything tonight?”
“Nothing?” Laura replied with a somewhat confused look on her face. “I mean, other than sleeping.”
She chuckled.
“Do you wanna go out somewhere?”
“Sure, but where?”
He turned around and looked at her.
“There is a club nearby. I was thinking of going there. And maybe call the other four dumbasses.”
“Sounds good,” she nodded. “Although Rebecca left with her mother, so I suppose just three dumbasses.”
“Oh. Yeah, three works too.”
“Alright, are you going to call them, or should I?”
“I will.”
“Great.”
He placed his hand on her jaw and leaned in to kiss her on the lips.
Their lips locked together and could taste each other’s fluids.
The warm fluids and breaths relieved the bodies of both.
Nazar moved away his lips a little and said, “Sorry.”
“For what?” she tilted her head a little to the right.
“A lot of things… but one day, I will make up for it.”
She grew even more confused, but she realised she won’t get a straight answer from him, so she let out a sigh.
“So, look forward to it,” he added with a wide smile.
“Alright,” she replied with a confused smile.
He leaned forward again and kissed her on the lips.
As their tongues touched each other, the heat in their bodies increased slowly.
In this warm weather, their skins turned red.
“Mm.”
“Hey, are you free right now?” he asked.
“Well, obviously.”
He took off his shirt.
“So?”
“Ye-- Wait, no.”
Her rejection caused him confusion.
“I would love to,” she bit her lip seductively as she strolled her fingers on his skin. “But… Get a shower first,” she said with a sweet smile, unbefitting of her words.
“...”
He stared at her in a confused manner.
“...”
And continued to stare.
“...”
After a while, he finally opened his mouth.
“I don’t sweat,” he spoke in a bitter - albeit sarcastic - tone.
“Does not matter,” she continued to speak in her sweet tone. “You haven’t showered in a week. Don’t you know anything about hygiene?”
“I do...”
“Then don’t be so careless. Female hygiene is important.”
“Uh… By any chance are you calling me dirty?”
With the same sweet smile on her face, she nodded with her eyes, “Mm, yes.”
“...”
He stared at her blankly.
“...”
His expression turned contemptuous - albeit sarcastically.
“Blasphemy!” he said in a loud voice with goggle eyes.
“...” she tried to keep a straight face, but couldn’t for too long, so she burst into laughter. “Haha. Why… ha… Okay, that was funny.”
“Of course,” he scoffed in a condescending manner as if looking down on her - albeit sarcastically. “I am a man of many talents.”
“No,” she shook her head a little with a tight smile, “don’t push your luck.”
“Ouch.”
His shoulders drooped down as he walked past her.
“Where?” she turned around and called out after him.
“Shower,” without any strength in her hands, he pointed towards the bathroom door with his index finger.
“Oh.”
He opened the door of the bathroom with a loud groan.
“Showers are a pain,” he said slowly.
He entered the bathroom and closed the door after him, only to open it three seconds later with a somewhat excited look on his face.
“Oh! Wanna join me?”
“Why? Want me to wash your back?” she teased with a smile.
“Do I look like a child….” his words slowly trailed off. He rubbed his chin as he thought. “Actually, that doesn’t sound too bad.”
Laura scoffed.
“But initially, I wanted you in here for another reason,” he winked with a faint smile.
Laura pursed her lips as she thought for a moment, “Sure. Got nothing else.”
She took off her top as she walked towards the bathroom door.
“Nice.”
လလလ
After a while, the two of them came out of the bathroom. Each one of them had a towel wrapped around their bodies and another in their hands to dry their hair.
He scrubbed his head with the tower for a while, but there were still remains of water, so he let out a soft grunt.
He held his palm at his head.
A torrent of frigid air circled around his head and dried his hair.
“Ahh, that felt good,” Nazar lumped down on the bed with a blessed smile on his face. “Oh yeah, do you need help with your hair?”
“I have a dryer… it’s somewhere here,” she looked around the room trying to figure out where she left it.
"Alright then."
Black jeans and a black shirt appeared around him. The nanite-based device created the clothes he always wore.
"Can you wear something else for once?" she was mildly infuriated. "Do you not get tired of it?"
"Nah, not really… I think wearing different clothes can be annoying."
"Weird."
"I mean, as long as it covers me, everything else doesn't matter."
"That… surprisingly makes sense."
He shook his head ever so slightly, "What's so surprising about that?"
In his hand, he was still holding onto the towel, so he let out a soft grunt.
He held both of the towels in his hand and dried them with air, then he threw them on the bed next to him.
"Throw your towel here after you are finished."
"Okay."
She dried her hair and threw the towels at him and he dried them with the air.
"At least wash it," she said while putting on underwear.
"..."
He turned his head around and looked at the towels.
"So much work…"
A torrent of temporal green energies flew out of his hand and covered the towels.
"Now it's good as new."
"You are so lazy sometimes…" Laura rolled her eyes, "And damn it. This is annoying to put on."
She was trying to put on her bra but couldn't find the hook easily, so she started to get annoyed.
Nazar watched her as she tried to hook it but it didn't work so she grew frustrated.
"One second," he finally decided to help.
He stood behind her and helped her.
"The hook was slightly damaged," he touched the metallic hook and reshaped it to its original state. "But it's fine now."
"Oh, thanks."
She put on her clothes and when she was done, Nazar said, "You know, for the longest time I wanted to die because I thought I had seen everything, but I was wrong."
The confused Laura smiled stiffly.
"But now…" Nazar looked up and down at her and analysed her clothes. "There are so many clothes I want to see you in. Because this looks wonderful."
Laura, who was wearing tight black jeans and a striped light pink shirt - which was tucked in slightly at the front, looked down at her clothes and wondered what he was talking about. She did not find anything extraordinary in her attire today.
"You…" Laura winced. "You are really weird today, you know that, right?"
"Pff," he blew out air. "I am always nice."
"That's not it. You just seem… I don't know how to say it but more open, I guess? And doesn't feel forceful either. So, that's odd."
"Well, I suppose it's because we spent a year in another place. Got to know each other even more than we did before."
"True," she nodded with her lips pursed to one side. "Anyway, you must be hungry. Do you want to eat anything?"
"When am I not? But what was for lunch?"
"Pasta."
"..."
"Don't make another Italy joke," she rolled her eyes as she saw his smile, which looked no different than a child trying to prank someone.
"Alright," his smile vanished. "But I will make homemade chicken wings. Make it very spicy and crispy."
He was drooling from the thought of chicken wings.
She found it amusing how quickly his emotions changed.
"Let me cook it for you," Laura suggested with confidence.
"Chicken wings aren't instant noodles."
With an angry smile, she said, "I can cook other things besides instant noodles, you silly sausage."
"Oh, one week with Emma and you seem to have picked up the right British insults. Lovely."
Laura sighed loudly.
"These are going to be hard to forget."
"Anyway, you don't have to Cook. I can survive until dinner. And eating alone feels kind of weird these days."
"Who said anything about eating alone?"
"Oh?"
"I was kind of worried about you, so I couldn't eat too well."
"Oh, how sweet of you."
"Shut it."
Nazar laughed.
"Anyway, if you want, you can cook. I have never eaten anything you made."
Now that he became interested in the matter, he was eagerly waiting to see what she could make.
"Oh, but you are helping."
"Works for me."
"So, what do you want?" she tied her hair at the back as they started to walk downstairs.
"Fried chicken," he said as drools almost fell from his mouth.
"I am hungry too, so cooking that will take too long."
"What do you think I have these powers for?" he held out his palms and created many energies in it to show off to her.
She nodded her head with an impressed smile.
"Wonderful."
They went into the kitchen and started preparing the food. They marinated the chicken and he put it inside a cube of temporal energies, made it age just the right so it can be cooked right away.
The right way to use time manipulation ability.
"Why did you add so many spices?"
"Because they make tasty food taste a million times better," Nazar explained. "Also, the sourer and spicier the food, the better."
"I… never really was into spicy stuff. I mean, a little is nice but too much… Not my thing."
"Oh, trust me, this is not that spicy. So, please try it out."
In his hand, another chicken appeared, and he quickly marinated it then put it inside a temporal cube.
"But just in case you end up disliking it, there is one for your taste."
"Why, thank you."
"No problem-o."
Then they took the chicken and friend it.
After a while, it was ready, so they sat at the table and started to taste it.
Nazar took a bite from the leg area of the chicken and bit on it immediately.
"Mmm," the spicy and sour feelings in his mouth caused his body to become exceptionally light. "This is just the most perfect thing ever. The closest thing to perfection."
Laura placed her elbow on the table and rested her hand in her palm.
Her lips spread thinly and formed a teasing smile.
"Wow, you don't even want to lie about me, huh?"
"Hm?"
"I mean, the least you could die is lie how I am the most perfect and the chicken is the second."
Nazar looked at her and then the chicken. And continued the cycle for a short while.
"I mean…"
He was at a loss for words, so he just took a bite from the chicken leg and Laura laughed.
She, too, took a bite from the spicy chicken.
"Oh wow, you were right," with surprise and delight dancing on her face, she looked at Nazar. "This is perfect."
"I told you, chicken is unmatched in this universe."
However, he shook his head and added loudly, "No, scratch that! It's the most perfect thing in the omniverse!"
"What's an om… om-n…" she was trying to recite the word he had just said but could pronounce it very well. "What was that?"
"Omniverse?"
She nodded.
"It's… a long story."
She let out a soft groan, "Another long story?"
"Everything is a long story."
"Deep," she said with a blank look on her face.
"Oh yeah, speaking of long stories, can I experiment on you?"
"..."
She blinked fast a few times and said, "Come again?"
"It's… a--"
"Ahh, never mind. But sure," she rolled her eyes. And in a barely audible voice, she added, "As long as I don't die."
So, they sat down and enjoyed the delicious meal happily.
The people in the universe were either scared or worried because of the recent events, but these two were happy. There was not a care in the world about what happened and what will happen.
And the universe saw these happy people, not worrying about anything.
The universe saw everything today.
It saw everything with crystal clear eyes.

Spirits, or what people usually referred to as ghosts, are something that has always been with us since ancient times. Some people are gifted to see them. However, most of us can’t see them without training. And without seeing them, we won’t believe. People only believe what they see, after all. However, I assure you, spirits are real. Spirits are always there. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean they are not real. Just like people of ancient ages who can’t see bacteria or those who can’t see stars further than eyes can see, there are limits to our technology. Similarly, even though the current technology can’t prove the existence of supernatural beings, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In the future, if we can develop technology so everyone can see them just like how a microscope helps us seeing micro beings, I believe everyone will believe it too. That being said, I still can’t prove their existence yet. -Raleigh Von Vlad Update daily (if possible, if not, guaranteed chapters are on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) Thanks to gej302 for the fantastic cover!
