Chapter 148

Arc 15 - Dead Men Rising - Part 1

2011, Planet BB-8-22:

At the edge of the Navira galaxy, on a technological advanced planet, Nazar and Solace stood on top of a tall building.

“Neon lights, tall buildings and almost always, it's very dark here… Get what I am saying?”

“No, you silly billy.”

“The what?” he looked at Solace beside him with squinted eyes of confusion. “Anyway, don’t you see it? The cyberpunk feels too? Come on now...”

“Ahhhh,” Solace smiled thinly. “You brought me to a world of robots so you could legally sleep with me.”

“That’s not illegal anywhere,” he clicked his tongue.

She moved a little and hugged him from behind.

“You know, if you wanted to make me this hot, why not give me the right body parts?”

“I love you for you who are…” he replied with a teasing smile, “as a friend.”

Nazar laughed as Solace kneed him in the back of his leg.

With her hands already wrapped around him, she pulled a German Supplex on him and slammed the top of his head and his upper back into the roof of the tall building.

“Ow.”

She teleported from beneath him and Nazar fell to the ground.

Solace wrapped her arms around her generous chest with a sarcastic angry pout of her lips.

“I can’t believe you, you bastard.”

Nazar lied down on the roof and let out a sigh.

“That would have been great if I could feel any pain.”

“...”

Solace went closer to him and raised her leg and slammed it into his chest, “How does that feel?”

“I think I am unlocking a new fetish.”

“...”

With a thin smug smile on her face and her nose held high, she looked down at this man.

Her leg moved around on his chest and put a lot of force into it.

Nazar could hear the bones in his body rubbing against one another and breaking.

However, he had a blissful look on his face.

“I no longer think, but I have definitely unlocked a new fetish.”

“Nice,” Solace continued stomping on his chest with her right leg.

“How much do you charge for your services?”

Solace raised her index finger to her lip and tapped it a few times.

“It depends. Room service is a million per minute, late night room service is a billion per minute,” she added a wink at the end, “massage is two million a minute, and hot massage including extra service is two billion a minute. Oh! Cosplay service is a billion minimum. And then we have… Right, action with a clone of mine would cost a trillion.”

“What about stepping on me?”

“Hmm, I was thinking-- Well, since it’s you, I will give you a discount and charge you 50% extra, so, how about one hundred trillion a minute?”

“Wait, that doesn’t make sense!!” he cried out, but Solace shrugged.

“You either take it or leave, you dumb bitch.”

Nazar let out a soft groan.

“What is mine, it’s your-- Wait!”

An idea came to his mind, so he smiled knowingly.

“What is mine, it’s also yours. And vice versa. So!!! Get it?!”

“...”

She did, but she did not say anything.

“This could be an infinitely long partnership. You will provide service, I will pay for you, but that money would come back to me since everything you have is mine and vice versa!”

He threw his hands into the air victoriously.

“I am a genius!”

Solace rolled her eyes as she groaned.

“Fine, you win. Every night at 3 AM, you are getting stepped on.”

“Yeeeessssssssss!”*

“But one day, I will ask for repayment, will you give it to me?”

“Anything you need.”

“Sweet!”

Solace smiled happily.

Monday, 5th of July.

Nazar remembered an old memory as he sat on his throne with a depressed look pasted on his face.

It...

On one hand, he loved Laura greatly, but on the other hand…

This is troubling.

He clicked his tongue.

They are using her energy to still mess with me. They keep making me not want to think about Solace…

“Nazar,” a beautiful muscular yet feminine looking blonde-haired maid with blue eyes took up the hems of her skirt and curtseyed elegantly as she bowed light, “the next hearing at the court is about to begin shortly. May I prepare your proper attire?”

Nazar threw away his thoughts before responding to the head maid.

“Thanks, Ella, but that would not be necessary.”

She nodded.

“As you wish.”

“...”

Nazar let out a soft grunt.

“Please don’t be so formal with me, Ella.”

“Right,” she relaxed her shoulders and stood straight. “If… If you don’t mind, can I ask a question?”

“Absolutely, go ahead.”

“Is everything okay?”

Nazar stared at her suspiciously for a moment, wondering why she asked that question, but shook his head and threw away those not-so-good thoughts and answered, “Yeah, everything is fine.”

“I see… It’s just you seem out of it today.”

“Ah, sorry for worrying you, it’s nothing.”

“About that...” her tone stiffened. “You have left the empire behind, barely coming here, so we all got worried.”

He came to a few conclusions from the way she spoke.

Either she was really worried, or it was her way of saying “do your job, please.”

“Right… It’s just some things that are happening. It can be… difficult to deal with.”

“Sorry to hear that,” she spoke with a slight hint of embarrassment. It seems his latter conclusion was correct. “I hope everything goes well.”

Nazar nodded and thanked her in a barely audible voice.

“Anyway, where is Lian?”

Planet Wul:

The small planet known as Wul at the edge of Milky Way Galaxy is where the Galactic Council is located. The Galactic Council is an organisation created for the sole purpose of keeping the surrounding few galaxies in check.

On this technologically advanced planet, in front of a large courtroom - that could be easily mistaken for a sports stadium - Nazar landed with force alongside Baros.

The planet shook, causing everyone to gasp.

“Val’Ikryn,” Nazar looked around and noticed someone familiar.

“Hello there, King Nazar,” the man anxiously smiled as he saw Nazar in his hulking form.

The tall amber coloured alien man with big black eyes - which did not have sclera. He had two large legs which resembled that of a chicken and four hands which resembled that of a monkey. He had a face like a tiger.

The large body was covered by a white cloth. All of his body was covered, except for his hands. The clothes had ancient golden decorations on it - which included a landscape of sorts with animals, fields, starry sky, and sun. A dark grey scarf with similar decorations was wrapped around his long thin neck.

In one of his hands, he was holding a tablet. And in the other, he was holding hundreds of sheets of papers in it.

“I...” Val’Ikryn glanced around, “do not see your lawyer today.”

“She was not feeling well, there was an incident.”

“Oh...” Val’Ikryn blurted out in surprise. He thought she did not come here because of last time’s embarrassment. “Apologies, then.”

“??”

He looked at Baros and shrugged at one another.

“And your witness, Your Majesty?”

“He will be here soon…”

Nazar looked down.

“Hopefully,” he added in a barely audible voice.

Val’Ikryn breathed out as he relaxed himself.

“Well, then, shall we enter?”

The two of them went into the courtroom.

Nazar sat on the witness seat while Val’Ikryn sat on the judge’s bench.

The spectators and the jury filled up the courtroom.

From across the room, Nazar could see his friends, he nodded to them.

“Esteemed members of the Galactic Council, we are here for the second hearing of His Majesty, Nazar, the Monarch of Chochica Empire. As we all know, he is accused of destroying time. His Majesty, however, denies the claim. So, today, we are here to...” Val’Ikryn glanced at Nazar, who seemed awfully calm in this situation, so it caused him to swallow his saliva. “To...” he was at a loss for words, so he cleared his throat. “Ahem. I apologise. In any case, please present your evidence, Your Majesty.”

Nazar stood up and bowed his head ever so lightly.

“Thank you, Val’Ikryn, but my witness will be here shortly. Please give him a minute.”

Val’Ikryn nodded and Nazar sat down.

Where the hell are you?

However, he did not show his anger on his face.

“The opposition?” he looked at another lawyer, who was a humanoid blue chicken.

“There is no need for evidence, we all know what his crimes are. He has killed countless people and deserves to pay for it. But in any case, I shall begin my presentation.”

The lawyer stood in front of Nazar and looked down at him, however, he quickly looked away as he found those red crimson eyes of his too evil.

“A-ahem,” he cleared his throat and calmed himself down. He threw away his emotions and started to speak calmly. “Mr Nazar, the Emperor of Chochica Empire--”

“Nazar would do just fine,” Nazar cut off his words calmly.

“Well then, Nazar, can you deny that you have not killed anyone in the past?”

Nazar felt the suspicious and curious eyes of everyone in this room.

Killing people in this universe is no big deal, so why are they paying so much attention to him now?

So many emperors have sat on this seat and they did not look at him like this, so why him?

“Yes, of course. A lot.”

“Have you ever destroyed a world?”

In the jury seat, his eyes fell on a beautiful blonde woman with blue eyes in a blue costume and red cape - Phantom Star.

In one of their first adventures together, he kicked her through a planet, destroying it. While others have not seen him destroy worlds, he could not lie in this situation no matter what.

“Yes, I have.”

“And what about a universe?”

He has destroyed many universes in the past.

On top of that, his friends - emperors of other large empires - know about his capability to destroy a universe. And Weq have seen him demonstrate something like that once.

So, again, he could not lie in this situation.

“Yes. It was an empty universe and I destroyed it through a chain reaction.”

Not exactly a lie, but not the whole truth either. However, the jury bought it, so the rest did not matter.

Although his answer was acceptable, it did not stop everyone to gasp in surprise, including the lawyer.

“There are many of us who have the ability to destroy a galaxy and universe, myself included, but it does not warrant one to do so. Why did you destroy it?”

“Val’Ikryn,” Nazar looked at the judge with a faint smile. “Firstly, it was an empty universe. Secondly, do you never want to experiment?”

“What if the chain reaction had caused greater damage?”

Fuck you for asking the right question, Nazar thought but he could not say it out loud.

“It did not. It was disconnected from the tree of the multiverse.”

“I…” Val’Ikryn hesitated to speak. “I see. Please continue,” he pointed at the lawyer with his chin.

“Moving on, Mr-- Nazar, can you please tell me where you were on the day our world died. In the previous timeline.”

“At home.”

“Please, explain.”

“I was at home, celebrating my significant other’s birthday when the light came and destroyed us. It happened on the thirty first of October 2019, but going by Chochican calendar, it was the 30th of Dal, 30,000.”**

“I see. Then what did you do when you saw the light?”

“Nothing. I couldn’t do anything. Like everyone else, I died.”

The lawyer nodded.

“So, again, you deny the claims against you?”

“Of course.”

“But your witness… Where is your witness? No, who is your witness?”

“Then perhaps it’s time for me to make my appearance,” a voice, both mechanical and divine, came from every direction.

“!!”

“!!”

Everyone gasped as they looked around to look for the source of the voice.

“What...”

“Who...”

“Is this another attack?”

While these frantic spectators looked around, Nazar breathed in relief with a smile.

“My witness is here now,” Nazar informed the lawyer calmly.

The world glitched as a being of white energy appeared in the middle of the courtroom, in the view of everyone.

“Yelp!” the chicken-like lawyer flapped his tiny wings as he jumped up and stood behind Nazar.

Nazar scoffed as he shook his head, laughing at the lawyer.

“By the crimson bones of Ciera...” Val’Ikryn stood up in his seat frantically. He swallowed his saliva.

They could not explain it, but they were feeling intense fear.

The pressure coming from this being was too much for some of them to handle.

But before they could faint, he saved them.

“I apologise for my late appearance, Lord Nazar,” the being made of energy looked at Nazar and nodded.

Nazar stood up and spread his arms slightly.

“My witness, the Supreme One.”

“I am your creator.”

Their wide eyes widened ever further.

Their breathlessness worsened.

Yet the Supreme One continued like normal.

“It is I, the being who stood at the top and created all of you and your worlds. I constructed you all from the thin air.”

Everyone should laugh at his statements, but they couldn’t.

They were not sure how, but they knew this man was not lying, they knew that this man was truly their God.

“And today, I descend not as your God, but as witness to Lord Nazar.”

“!!”

While the others glanced at one another quizzically, Nazar’s eyes widened.

It can’t be… he swallowed his saliva in worry. What if he… What if he tells them about my true state?

The Supreme One looked at the judge.

“Do you accept me as his witness, judge Val’Ikryn?”

Val’Ikryn sucked in a breath as his body stiffened.

He is just a mortal yet this God of theirs asked him a question such as this. He was not sure how to react to that.

“I...”

His heart was beating so fast, it was as if it would jump out of his throat.

What was the right thing to do in this situation?

While yes, their very God is here to solve this problem, however, what if this man is lying? But if he isn’t lying, then why would someone as high profile as this come to the rescue of someone as small as Nazar, who is nothing more than a king with too much power?

Val’Ikryn glanced at the jury and the spectators, everyone was at a loss for words. Like him, everyone had questions.

“Y--” Val’Ikryn cleared his throat. “Please.”

He massaged his long neck slightly to help him with breathing as he sat down at his seat. Sad to say, but it did not help. His breathing was still very erratic.

“I have witnessed the event myself,” the Supreme One glanced at Nazar and added in barely audible sound, “the first one that is.”

“?” Nazar wondered how, but he decided to wait and ask him later.

Everyone looked at one another, waiting for the person next to them to do something, perhaps give them an answer, but no one could.

“A white light that washed away everything and it was not him who did it,” the Supreme One pointed at Nazar with his index finger.

His arm, which Nazar destroyed last week was now back to normal. He had regenerated it.

“Before I go any further, let me explain something to you.”

The courtroom turned into energy which showed them constructs of what happened.

“Just weeks before the death of the first world, I died,” the constructs showed Michael slaying the Supreme One.

Everyone in the room gasped once again.

If he is God, how can he die?

“To put it simply, it was a plan of mine to ascend to a higher realm, leaving the place to my second child, Michael-- Archangel Michael. So, in a way, I lived within him. That’s how I remember what happened to that world.”

The constructs changed and showed a dimension so small it looked no different than a normal room.

“This place - Asteria - exists above and beyond everything in this multiverse, we can see things differently. The white light even destroyed that place, that is true but it does not mean we will forget what happened. Simply put, people who exist above certain dimensional lines cannot be affected by something as simple as time destruction. While our physical bodies do, our real selves are unaffected. That’s why I remember it.”

The construct moved and showed Emily who was floating above the planet the night before when she gathered the power into her, including someone who looked like Nazar.

“She is also innocent.”

Val’Ikryn scoffed in a confused manner, trying to keep his fear low, “How?”

“Let me explain, judge Val’Ikryn,” the Supreme One shot a fierce gaze at him.

Val’Ikryn nodded stiffly, he felt himself shrinking in his place. He could not muster up enough strength to apologise.

“Lord Nazar,” he looked at Nazar. “Please come here.”

Confused, Nazar shrugged and stood next to him.

“Omegan,” the Supreme One called out to someone sitting behind him, without even turning around.

“Yes, my lord,” Omegan, another man made of energy stood up and bowed deeply behind his back. While they were made from similar colours of energies, they looked quite different. The glow around Omegan was exceptionally low, thus his overall look was slightly darker. Omegan’s form was slightly softer while the Supreme One’s was sharper and more square-ish - almost as if drawn in stylised art and then added a glitch effect on top of it.

“Stand beside me.”

“Yes, my lord.”

Once again, everyone gasped in surprise.

Omegan is considered the supreme God of this universe, with authority that outweighs everyone else, so if he accepts the Supreme One as his God then everyone should have no doubt in his words.

“Before there was anything, there were two beings. A Creator and Destroyer. The Supreme One and the Nameless One. Two opposing forces. I created you all and this universe and the Nameless One wanted to destroy it.”

In front of everyone, constructs of the angels appeared.

“I created angels and the Nameless One roamed the multiverse until one day he found weapons of his own: Nazar and his kind. Not humanity, of course, just Nazar and Emily, the woman you saw earlier.”

“Can I?” Nazar looked at the Supreme and then Val’Ikryn.

“Go ahead,” the Supreme One nodded.

Val’Ikryn let out a sigh and gestured to him with his hand to continue.

“The Nameless One, the Destroyer created Emily and I to be his perfect weapons to stand against the angels. With Lucifer’s help, I killed him - or so I thought I did.”

Nazar took control of the room and created constructs of the Nameless One, Emily and himself.

People saw the Nameless One and gasped loudly.

He looked just like Nazar, with a few minor differences.

They did not believe it, but they listened to his explanation.

“Emily, my childhood friend, was killed by him. However, it seemed he had resurrected her to take control of her body when he died. Perhaps he was expecting that to happen.”

“So, are you saying he destroyed the timeline?” the chicken-like lawyer finally recovered and asked.

“Yes, he took control of Emily and destroyed the timeline.”

“But why?”

Nazar rolled his eyes with a soft grunt.

“Why would a destroyer, whose sole job is to destroy everything, destroy something?” Nazar said out loudly with great annoyance.

“Please calm down,” Omegan said slowly to him.

“I am calm,” he said in a low angry voice. “I honestly don’t get his question. Isn’t it obvious?”

Nazar breathed out and calmed himself.

“Anyway, the Nameless One always wanted to destroy the universe, but Lucifer stopped him every time and then later Lord Nazar helped against him too. If he hadn’t killed him back then, we would have been left with nothing,” the Supreme One added. “He saved us that day. And we are all alive thanks to him.”

“It is true, he is a Destroyer created to destroy, but it does not mean Nazar did the terrible things you see,” Omegan said. “He just shares looks with an evil man.”

“But...” Val’Ikryn narrowed his eyes as he threw away his emotions. “Are you telling the truth?”

“What do you mean?” Omegan asked.

“While yes, this man might be telling the truth, but is he really our God?”

“How may I prove myself to you?”

“You don’t need to, which is the problem. We are buying your words at face value. But let’s leave that aside, shall we?” Val’Ikryn’s continued in his cold tone. “Why must you, our so-called God, testify for the creation of his enemy?”

“...”

The Nameless One stood in his place, not uttering a single word.

“Why should someone of your calibre stand for someone so unworthy and low? I supposed I can finally understand why Omegan, the Supreme God of our universe, has such close ties to this human. But why you? Why are you testifying for someone like him? Shouldn’t you get rid of him?

“Good question, judge Val’Ikryn,” the Supreme One snapped his fingers and the room returned to normal. “Because...”

“Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t,” Nazar muttered under his breath in an angry voice.

If he tells them about my true state, then… Then I am fucked. BIG TIME!

He looked at the Supreme One with a look, hoping he would keep his secret a secret.

However, the Supreme One did not notice the look on his face. He looked Val’Ikryn in the eyes and responded.

“Because...”
