Chapter 147.11
Arc 14.5 - God of Stories - Part 11
Everything dies.
Except for him.
Everything died.
Except for him.
There was nothing.
Except for him.
From the ashes of creation, I was given birth to.
I have taken his throne and his power - although only partial.
But even then, I am a powerful individual.
I stand at the top.
At this moment, no one comes close.
So… Does he really think he can sneak up on me?
In a dark place, far from every light, there was a golden shining castle, giving up a light greater than any other light. Inside the castle, the chandeliers held colourful universes, illuminating this boring room beautiful. The pillars held Ultraverses. And the floor was an ocean of thick white liquid of creation.
At the far back of the throne room, on a luxurious throne, a muscular tall man with red eyes sat. His elbow was on the arm of the throne and he was resting his face on his palm.
I am Arosus, the one who sits at the top.
The closest to a true omnipotent.
Arosus’ red eyes flared brightly as his lips spread thinly across his light brown face.
“What have you come here for?”
X, the man in the dark robes ascended from the floor of the throne room.
“Did… Did you see?”
Arosus nodded with his eyes.
“Nothing stays unseen from the ever-seeing eyes of mine,” Arosus felt a little annoyed. “And get rid of that silly hood in front of me. It’s not a visual medium.”
“Hm.”
X glanced left and right and sighed.
“As you wish.”
X removed his hood and Arosus’ annoyed look suddenly vanished as he smiled.
“Much better.”
“I have a proposal.”
“Hm.”
Arosus leaned forward.
“Let me hear it.”

Back into the main Ultraverse, Plymouth, UK:
“What just happened?”
Emily, floating at the back of his house, looked down at Nazar and asked with narrowed eyes.
“I feel something did, but at the same time, I don’t think anything happened.”
“...Nothing.”
Nazar sat on a chair near the pool and clicked his tongue softly.
“Oh?” she narrowed her eyes.
“Why would I lie?”
“You...” Emily sighed and sat opposite him. “Something feels off about the cosmology. You can’t tell me you are not involved in it.”
Nazar shot a side glance at her.
“On what basis?”
“You died for a moment. Need I say more?” Emily smiled an accomplished smile.
"Hrm."
"Plus, you have grown stronger."
Nazar glanced down as he bit his tongue.
"Unfortunately."
He looked at Emily and smiled a pathetic sad smile.
"They say when you fall in love and follow your emotions, you become weak, but no matter how weak I become, I am still the strongest. I did not shun away these emotions but kept it intact for the sole reasons of being weak. The way of the samurai… my ass," he laughed bitterly.
Emma rolled her eyes slightly.
"Except against her and that guy."
"..."
He stared at her blankly before bursting into laughter.
"I hope you aren't being serious."
"Oh, I have heard it all," she waved her disinterestedly. "But why escalate it this much? If you, the one who stands above everyone else could stop this, then why did you not?"
"I--"
Emily held her palm at him, stopping him from speaking.
"And I DON'T want to hear the boring argument again."
"But it's merely the truth," he shrugged. "For if I were to unleash the power within me, I could risk the death of whole creation again."
His movement and expressions were carefree, but his tone was serious. Very serious.
"No, let's scratch the idea of could and possibly with me. As it turns out, I can do everything. I don't like it, obviously, but it does not mean I cannot do it."
"B--"
He held his palm at her, stopping her from speaking.
"Call me a masochist or the worst person ever - honestly, it does not matter to me in the least - I am enjoying this. Even now, even when I say I don't, I can't stop this black heart of mine from enjoying this. More and more of my memories as the Supreme Being of all creation comes to me as time passes by, I remember living for trillions of years, I remember being an embryo conducted experiments on by the Nameless One, I remember so much more. For a being who can recall the smallest moment that he has faced… Everything gets boring. There is no future, yet still, I can predict the future. In ten days, the universe 2711918180 will die. It's a newly made universe but it will be destroyed by an entity who does not exist yet. But he will soon. The scope of my power is far too great for you to comprehend. I am sorry if it sounds pathetic or as if I am gloating, but I am not. Power is a curse. And death is the ultimate peace I seek for. If I get the chance to die at this moment, don't think for a moment I won't take it."
"..."
Emily stared at him, speechless.
She leaned back in the chair as she bit her lip.
Crossing her arms around her chest, she started nodding her head, "I see."
"Indeed. They said they can kill me, why must I get rid of the one thing that can kill me?"
"... Your actions sometimes contradict your thoughts."
"No, no, no," with a chuckle, he shook his index finger in front of her, disagreeing. "I am not. I am not, really. I will defeat them, but not before they kill me. I might fight against them, but only so I can understand them and then help them indirectly to kill me. And of course, to place back up plans in place to save the whole of creation so my sister and those I care about can live in safety. That includes you too."
Emily sucked in a breath.
She was not sure how to react to that.
For a while, she assumed he no longer wanted to die.
Clearly, she was wrong.
"You know, a few days ago, Aarin made every negative emotion in the multiverse run through me. I felt it all. The worst of the worst. But you know what? On the surface, I was crying in pain like a pathetic loser, but deep down, I was excited. I only had to leave that state because Arael was there and I did not want to kill him."
"What is wrong with you?" She asked with a weary face.
"My mother fears me, my sister is no different, even if she does not show it on her face, and Laura… I can't say she doesn't feel like that sometimes. Maybe I should have broken up with her a long time ago, wouldn't it have been simpler? And one less person to constantly please?" He shook his head vigorously. "No, to try and constantly please. Of course, it's hard to please anyone."

"...What happened with Laura?"
He grunted softly and unpleasantly before continuing.
"Oh, it ended. Really, it ended in the most pathetic way possible."
"Hm?"
"Since the reverse, she was feeling weird, I could see it behind her but as usual tried to deny it. I asked her, she said she does not remember. But in fact, she remembered, same as Emma. I did not protect them here, the field around them did. So, when I took her to her brother's house, she felt a little relieved and safe, so I asked again. She said yes. She remembers and that she isn't sure how she feels anymore, so to give her some time. I did the one thing I always do, I smiled and said "sure". Nothing wrong so far, right?"
Emily looked left and right to try and answer his, but he spoke before she could.
"When she entered the house, she told her brother in a broken voice, "you were right". I just flew away like nothing happened. Because after all, I never wanted to get between her and her happiness. X probably also showed her everything terrible I did. Anyone would be an idiot to even look at me. You should probably take a bit of note from her--"
Emily snorted.
"What?" He looked at her in a confused manner.
"Haha," she laughed loudly. "I see, I see."
Not understanding what she is talking about, he clicked his tongue.
"If you think that will make me hate you, you are sorely misunderstood. I already hate you."
"Worth a try, no?"
He relaxed back in his chair.
"I don't deserve any of this I have. Never did. I long for one thing and that is impossible to reach."
His eyes turned cold and so did his tone.
"Life really is meaningless."
With a sympathetic look on her face, she said, "There is more to life."
"Like what?" he replied with a hint of angriness. "Do you know how it feels to never be surprised? To act surprised in almost all situations? To pretend you don't see the ugly feelings of everyone around you?" He chuckled dryly. "And you know what? I don't even blame them. I am not likeable at all. I don't make myself to be likeable. I just am just a mongrel who just has too much power. Everyone I know is because of this power and everything I have achieved is because of this power. Power, power, power. What's so good about it, huh?"
"..."
"I had to rip myself into a gazillion pieces to be a little more interesting. To be a little weak. The amount of things I had to do be likeable. To be…"
He stared Emily in the eyes with envy.
"You have the choice to not have power, yet you don't get rid of it. Must be nice, very nice. Maybe, just maybe, I wasn't the one our beloved creator loved, but it was you. Maybe, just fucking maybe, he loved you so fucking much he gave you the choice. Maybe, just… maybe," his sound turned gloomy.
Emily brushed off his rude comments.
There was a lot she wanted to refute but did not bother and instead let out a heavy sigh.
"Yeah, you are right. Why should anyone like you? Especially with this rotten contradictory personality of yours. I truly hope…" she swallowed her saliva before continuing. "You never achieve that goal of yours."
"Thank you."
He smiled softly at her.
"If you ever want that power removed, just let me know. I can free you."
She slammed her hands into the table as she stood up.
"I am free. More so than I have ever been. Don't try that saviour bullshit with me!"
"Oho?"
He leaned back in the chair as his soft smile turned sinister.
"If you are so free then why did you feel pain when X and that bitch destroyed time across the multiverse? Hmmmmmm. I wonder about that, actually. What could it mean?"
"Tch. To think I really was expecting that you had changed on that day… I was naive."
“No, not really. That personality of mine, influenced by Laura’s to make me a “better” version of myself, that one did really change or whatever you call that. But this me, an accumulation of all my selves… It’s different. The one you knew is gone."
Emily pursed her lips in anger.
She wanted to hurt this man before her, but that sinister smile on his face suggested she should stay away from this worthless man.
"God, you are pathetic."
"I know that all too well."
The air around her turned blue and it sucked her in.
Once she left, Nazar relaxed in the chair as he whistled.
"How much of that was a lie?"
Emma, who heard all of this, walked towards him angrily.
"I don't know what you are talking about," Nazar did not turn around.
"No, leave that behind. But the way you are acting, what's up with that?"
"It's the real real me. Not the modified version."
"...What?"
"What, don't like the real me?" he asked with a faint sinister smile.
"That's not it. I just don't like this you, who acts like an asshole."
"Hmm, shouldn't you be happy that I am finally whole again? Shouldn't you be happy that I don't need the help of a certain energy and an android and an angel to keep me functioning normally? I don't get it. Do you want the broken and unstable me? If you do, I can return to that shortly."
He held a finger gun to his temple.
"Just say the word, I can return him any moment."
"It's…" she let out a long sigh. "It's not that. You looked different when we were in that other place, but now you are… I don't know how to describe it."
He shrugged.
"It’s what it is..."
Nazar stood up wearily.
“I am going, if something happens, let me know.”
“Huh? What do you-- Where are you going?”
“Home. And maybe some alien worlds.”
“Home?”
Emma’s face was pasted grim with anger and shock.
“This is home.”
He looked down at her and laughed.
“Hilarious.”
“!!”
“I know I am not making a good impression, but I know the true feelings you guys hide behind that beautiful smile of yours.”
Emma sat down on the chair and rolled her eyes.
“Too many families break off their relationships with their children and siblings, nothing new and uncommon in this country.”
Emma gritted her teeth, “What the fuck are you…?”
“Tomorrow, you will see something. The world will know that you and I are not related. I merely controlled you and everyone else in this house to give me a refuge. Delightful story, don’t you think?”
She stared at him angrily, gritting her teeth.
The veins in her face popped up, waiting to blow up.
“I am fixing the problem you raised in front of me, Emma. I really am,” he placed his hands on the table and stared at her. “I promised you, I will defeat them and not lose anything. When they kill me, they will be defeated. But… If they don’t kill me… That’s when I truly lose.”
“Why...”
“??” Nazar cocked his head in a confused manner.
“Why are you doing this?”
“Well, I am solving my problems.”
“No, why are YOU ACTING LIKE THIS? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?”
“I am a piece of a shit. I have always been. This is not new?”
Emma clicked her tongue.
”I thought you had changed, changed for the better.”
“The energy within Laura was forcing down my real emotions and making me become whatever I was. So, today I cut off that connection for good. I won’t be affected by Laura or that bitch or X. I am not sure you understand, but I am finally free from the clutches of everything, except this power and life.”
Emma closed her eyes in anger.
“Just… Just leave. Just go away,” tears flowed down from her closed eyes.
“I hope everything goes well for you, Emma. Tell mom what happened today.”
He moved away and looked at the blue sky.
“You will all be safe; I will make sure of that no matter what happens. But if something bad does happen, don’t hesitate to contact me.”
The gravity beneath Nazar became zero as he flew away without looking back.
He left the planet, and, in just a few moments, he reached a black hole and let it suck him in.
