Chapter 127
Arc 14 - Absolute Wish - Part 10
I fought against her.
Lucifer staring at the mysterious being known as the Dragon, who was now possessing the muscular man known as Alek, a human mercenary.
And I failed miserably.
Majority of the Bradley Isle was sucked into a pocket universe by the mysterious being known as the Dragon.
She was toying with me.
The Dragon has come to kill Eddie.
And if my analysis of him is correct, then he is on her level too.
Lucifer did not want the Dragon to kill Eddie. If that were to happen, Nazar would go berserk again, causing unpredictable damage to the Ultraverse.
Which means I cannot defeat him.
“『You said God is coming, right?』”
Lucifer nodded.
“『Hah. I have made this pocket dimension so it cannot be found by him. And as usual, you are too…』” a snary thin smile appeared on Alek’s face, “『small of an enemy to notice.』”
“Ha… ha...” Lucifer laughed bitterly.
Lucifer hid anger behind laughter.
“『There is no way he will find...』”
The Dragon looked up to the endless dark sky.
VRRRRRR!
The pocket universe shook violently as the reality vibrated furiously. Almost as if it wanted to escape.
When reality is formed, it gains a form of consciousness and creates an embodiment for itself.
That embodiment does its best to protect their reality.
It is no different right now.
The Dragon created this pocket universe, which of course, has a reality of its own, thus it has an embodiment who wants to protect it.
As the pocket universe shook violently, the embodiment wanted to move this reality out of this pocket universe, leaving it empty.
Reality is not something which can be moved, so to move, it means to merge with a universal reality and its embodiment. For example, Vilramore, who is the embodiment of Universe Prime’s reality.
He is here.
The tip of the pocket universe ripped open as if someone was opening a can of coke.
“『I hid this pocket universe from him and made sure he did not notice...』”
He realised what had happened, so he looked at Lucifer.
“『You allowed him to notice it, impressive.』”
Lucifer rolled his eyes. This was not impressive. If it was, the Dragon’s tone wouldn’t have been condescending.
Lucifer sucked in a breath and looked up.
Everything is going according to my calculations so far.
The tip of the pocket dimension had been blown away and someone started to come down from the broken tip of it.
The speed at which he was travelling, was too fast for most people to notice, but Lucifer could see him very clearly.
A thin smile spread across his face once he saw the angry look on Nazar’s face.
With bloodshot eyes, Nazar landed next to Eddie, who was lying behind Lucifer.
He touched Eddie’s face and checked for his life force.
Everything seemed fine.
He wasn’t dying.
Nothing was broken.
“I healed him,” Lucifer spoke to Nazar without looking back. “I did not want him to die until you got here. I thought you might take a little lon--”
Lucifer trailed off suddenly.
"!!"
Nazar did not say anything nor he looked back at him to notice the alarming look on his face.
Someone entered the multiverse but... who?
Uneasily, Lucifer looked around.
He didn't have time to worry about that. The Dragon was the bigger trouble at the moment.
I should take care of that once the Dragon dies.
Nazar caressed Eddie's forehead, healing him again just to be sure.
Come on! Open your eyes. Nazar thought with a dry throat.
He knows that Eddie is fine now, but he wants to make sure again that everything is fine.
The Dragon. Nazar narrowed his eyes.
Lucifer said the Dragon was here, but where?
He can sense his energies but not see him.
Nazar glanced behind him, seeing a macular soldier by the name of Alek. He is a mercenary who has been operating in the underworld for decades.
Ah.
He realised.
The Dragon had possessed this soldier.
"You!"
Within Nazar, a great flame of anger was burning.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
1988, Russia:
In a small town in eastern Russia, an 11 years old boy spread his arms wide as he started to run away gleefully from the town.
The town was small, with only 500 people living it. But they lived in harmony.
There was no war. There was no famine. There was no crime.
It was almost like it was another world.
The young boy left the town with a few other children who were following him.
They were pretending to be planes.
Silly games of children were quite an amusement for the townspeople. They saw them and smiled happily at them.
The children left the town. They were a mile away from it.
But then suddenly, everyone looked up.
It was a B-1 Lancer, moving above them at a very high speed.
Of course, the townspeople could not see it, but some could tell from the noise.
Something fell from the plane.
And then…
BOOM!
A loud explosion engulfed the entire town.
Orange flames shot outwards, sending shockwaves for a mile.
The gleeful children were thrown away but only one child remained.
He stood his ground.
The shockwave has missed him.
Simply, he was 「Lucky」.
The plane went on to destroy many other nearby towns, killing many people.
It turned out the plane was stolen by mercenaries to try and stir up troubles between the USA and the Russian Federation.
However, their plans were destroyed by the demon 「Zerathos」 without anyone getting hurt. A war of that scale wouldn't sit well for his plans.
In any case, the more important part of this is the child who was unaffected by the shockwave.
He watched almost everyone he knew blown up to nothingness.
Dumbfounded, he stared at the ruins for days without moving.
Soon, the military forces of the Federation arrived and took away the children.
Not too long after that, they were recruited into the army, where one of the generals noticed something spectacular.
One of the boys had extremely high luck.
They tried to utilize it, but the boy, he was not interested in the military.
No, he was more interested in making a name for himself.
Because the day his people died, he didn't feel anger or sadness.
He was astonished.
He wanted to say, "That was awesome!"
In the underworld, he built a name for himself. His luck helped him a lot.
But one day, he will earn the name; Alek, the Demon.
You see, 21 years ago and 12 years after the loss of his family, Alek felt another presence within him.
He did not receive powers but his luck skyrocketed.
He could survive being next to a bomb explosion and it would avoid him very closely.
That's what earned him the title; "the Demon."
He was a remorseless killer, feared by everyone in the underworld.
And now, he stands in a dark place inside his mind, wondering what happened?
Why did he suddenly lose control of his own body?

If he thought hard, he would have realised that the other presence took control, but Alek was not very smart in that regard.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
The Dragon faced Nazar.
He spread his arms widely.
“『It's an honour to meet you, God.』”
“God?” Nazar’s cheek twitched in anger.
“『But I have a question… Why are you still pretending to be a human? It has been thousands of years since we met. I gave you time to play human, yes, I did give you time. A lot of time. And yet here we are… Why are you still pretending to be a human?』”
The Dragon genuinely wanted to know.
Everyone wants power. Everyone wants the power Nazar has. Yet Nazar has it but hates it.
Anyone with that much power would not pretend to be a human. They would rule over everyone like the God they are.
But why does Nazar not want to accept his position?
This bastard...
Nazar clenched his fist.
“『You are a blank slate of existence, you don’t get to choose. You lost that chance once you became our God.』”
A weapon of mass destruction, created specifically to obey their master. That was why Nazar was created.
He was experimented on to reach a level never reached by anyone else before.
Simply for one reason; to give that position to his master.
I am going to kill you.
The gravity under Nazar has become zero.
“『You want to change your destiny, by all means, do that, but know this, it won’t last long. It’s better to give in to your destiny now than later. I don’t want you to make the same mistake.』”
The sand around Nazar started to float.
“『So, become what you were always meant to--』”
“I!”
Nazar's right hand lit up with energy.
“DON’T!”
The Dragon spread his arms wide.
“CAREEE!”
“『Is that…』”
The Dragon had spread his arms widely. He was waiting for Nazar to attack.
He was expecting Nazar to throw an energy beam at him, so he could nullify it.
He did not need to dodge Nazar’s attacks, because he knew very well, he could remove it to show his superiority.
“『Huh?』”
But instead, Nazar shot himself like a rocket towards the Dragon - or rather, Alek - with blazing eyes of fury.
Nazar gathered all of his power into his right clenched fist. Enough power that can lay waste to universes.
“『What are you doing?』”
He did not understand. Why was he moving? He did not need to move to attack him.
“『Why?』”
He glanced down at Nazar’s fist. He can see how powerful it is, but he did not move.
Simply, he was confused as to what Nazar was trying to do.
“『God, what...』”
Nazar swung his right fist in front of the man.
His eyes widened as he realised.
He knew what Nazar wanted to do.
“『No… Why?』”
Dumbfounded, he looked at Nazar’s angry eyes.
But something happened.
Nazar thrust his upper body forward as he went very close to the man.
“『Oh?』”
Nazar’s face moved past Alek’s.
“『???』”
Visible confusion danced on his face.
The Dragon wondered; What was he doing?
He moved his face to the right and looked at Nazar’s side profile.
Nazar was not looking at him from the corner of his eyes but he could see the anger in it.
“『I though-- BGRF?!?!』”
Suddenly, something stabbed into his face.
He could hear the crunching sound of the bones in his face breaking.
His vision changed.
He was looking at Nazar, but right now, he felt like he was staring at the dark sky.
No, to be more precise, he was staring at the sky.
He could not control where he was looking.
His vision tilted upwards and continued to stare at the endless sky.
Then…
His back fell onto something hard, yet also kind of soft.
The sand under him made a shhh sound as his body fell into it.
“『Eh?』”
What is this? What am I feeling?
The Dragon had many questions but he ignored that for a moment.
Instead, he focused on something else.
Was that… physical combat? The Dragon thought.
“『Why…?』”
He gritted his teeth.
“『What barbaric form of fighting, unbefitting of a God-- ?!』”
Nazar picked him up by the neck.
“What did you do TO HIM, YOU FILTH?!”
Nazar screamed at Alek’s face. His voice was so powerful, it peeled off the skin of Alek’s face.
“I don’t care what you do to me… Just know one thing, if you ever touch those close to me, you will pay a heavy price for it. I don’t care if you are the Demon King or the Supreme God of all creation, I WILL KILL YOU!”
Nazar threw the man up.
In a state of confusion, the Dragon - who was controlling Alek - had trouble recovering from being thrown away.
Nazar, who was floating a meter above the ground, looked up to the sky in a messiah pose.
From his body, green energy flowed out, healing everyone on the island - except for Alek.
With his eyes lit up, the buildings on the island - which were pulled into a pocket dimension - slowly started to ascend from the ground.
The tall buildings slowly started to move in the air.
“You think you can come here and do whatever you like? And that I would not interfere?”
Nazar kept his anger in check.
“You gave me vague information and then went away. I wasted all this time, looking for you. Do you know why?”
“『Because you want answers.』”
Nazar forcefully chuckled.
“Of course not, you imbecile,” his wet sinister laughter sent a shiver down Alek’s body, which the Dragon felt. He hasn’t felt like this for a long time, so he had forgotten the sensation. “I wanted to kill you for being so vague. I wanted to kill you for not giving me answers and wasting my time. I wanted to kill you for saving the Nameless One.”
The man swallowed his saliva.
“Answers? Don’t give me that bullshit. I am done asking for questions. I am done wanting things handed to me on a silver plate. So, I don’t need you anymore.”
Lucifer let out a sigh of relief. He did not regret pushing Nazar this far, but it will get the job done, so everything is fine.
“If I want answers, I will find them myself.”
The many buildings floated in circles above Nazar.
“I want to know her name, you should have told me. But you didn’t, so I don’t want to ask you anymore.”
He knows it's better if the Dragon gives him everything he needs to know. Certainly, it's easier.
But he made up his mind.
The Dragon will pay for what he did to Eddie.
Which means, he will die.
" I will find the answers I am seeking myself."
The people - students and teachers - looked up at the sky in horror. The buildings were floating as if it were balloons.
They all thought at once: what kind of power does this monster have?
“I should have done it earlier, but hey, I was too bored to do anything and wanted to have goals down the line.”
Nazar flicked his index finger towards the man who was still lying down on the ground.
“SO, I DON’T NEED YOU!”
Seeing those thin red flaring eyes with sinister laughter coming out of his mouth, the Dragon clenched his fist.
The Dragon’s avatar is far weaker than his true self, but Nazar has restricted most of his powers, so the Dragon is not worried.
He raised himself.
But.
The barrage of buildings crashing into him one by one annoyed him a little.
I don’t care who you are, you tried to hurt Eddie, so I AM GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU NOW!
In anger, Nazar held his palm before him.
He looked at it for a brief second.
This palm has been responsible for the death of many in the past, but he regrets none of them.
Perhaps today will be different?
The words of his sister ran through his head.
She asked him not to kill anyone.
What should he do?
I am sorry Emma...
In his palm, a white cube appeared.
Purple and pink liquid-like energy was added into this white cube.
The colours mixed together before the cube started to glow.
“『Let’s talk.』”
The buildings which had been crashed into Alek slowly started to disintegrate into nothingness.
Someone flew out of it, upwards.
“『I have all the answers you need.』”
"I don't care."
Alek’s tongue was clicked unpleasantly.
“『Disappointing.』”
The Dragon waved his hand, a large storm of energy was shot at Nazar.
Lucifer raised his hand, creating a shield to protect Nazar.
The cube in Nazar’s hand spun uncontrollably.
“Prepare yourself, DRAGON!”
Around the Dragon, something appeared.
An invisible cube.
“Behold...”
Nazar created this attack - since Emily suggested he might not have been the one who created it, use would be more appropriate - to defeat the Nameless One.
However, he felt a little excited deep down to use it.
Eddie is fine, his anger has cooled down a little, but he wanted to take rid of the Dragon no matter what.
“My 『BLACK UNIVERSE』!”
While Nazar was busy here, someone else entered this solar system, destroying the barrier which was placed by Nazar not too long ago to protect it.

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. This content is in a state of transition. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.

Interface
Welcome to the World-City of Thousel, the sixth iteration of life on the planet. These are the recordings of the people of Thousel. Thousel is believed to be the second longest iteration of life, and the overall most prosperous compared to what we know about the past five iterations. Medicine and technology have all progressed abundantly, and the world itself has been turned into one great city, governed and managed by the Governmental-Company Alliance, or the GCA.These particular recordings concern the discovery of a peculiar machine. When two very different people find themselves bound by the fate of one mysterious bot, life in the World-City begins to change… Interface is a cyberpunk webnovel set in an ecumenopolis world where people evolved with electro-sensory abilities. These senses shape the face of modern technology and life in a world where the three largest corporations run what has effectively become the government. Each of these three companies control various aspects of life in the city, and they all constantly vie for domain and power over one another. The world stands at the precipice of biological, technological, and historical breakthrough. After decades of study into microbiology, archaeology, and geology, it has been discovered that sentient life has lived on the planet multiple times over. These past peoples are referred to as the “prior iterations of life,” and it is believed that five great civilizations were constructed before the rise of the modern world. No one can be sure for certain what caused these peoples’ extinction long ago, and the theories range from simply dying off over time to massive tectonic fractures in the face of the planet. Advanced technology, far more complicated than anything the people possess today, has been uncovered in multiple locations. This has lead scholars to speculate on exactly how long each iteration of life survived and how far they progressed as a society. None of the companies have been able to find a way to make this ancient technology work for their own profit. It is as though they are each missing the final key needed to unlock these centuries old secrets. What could this knowledge reveal about the nature of life across every iteration? What power could it give to the one who wields it?Far from the investigation into the origin of life, two kids unlock a new mystery – one that ties their fates to the discovery of an old, mysterious robot. Suddenly, eyes begin to turn towards them as life in the city of Thousel changes wherever they go…
