Chapter 122
Arc 14 - Absolute Wish - Part 6
Bradley Isle:
Alek, the tall and muscular man was surrounded by dozens of soldiers in black and white armours known as the Godslayer armours.
But Eddie did not pay them any attention.
His attention was being stolen by a woman with golden energy surrounding her.
The source of her power is those two golden bands, Eddie thought to himself in a worried manner.
“I WILL BE YOUR OPPONENT!” Ebo Kojo shot herself at Norse God.
Oh, these bands...
Energy is all around us, but they are hidden. To some special eyes, they can see the flow of energy with their naked eyes.
Eddie, too, can see the flow of energy. He can see how energy is gathering up in her golden bands and then being transferred to her body.
Is it using the sun as a source of power? Interesting.
Although Ebo shot herself at him, Eddie quickly averted his gaze and looked up.
He looked beyond the clouds and looked directly at the sun.
Even if I did try something--- Like-like-like if I cover the entire planet in dark clouds, the residual energies of the sun are still all around us. From the looks of it, it doesn’t seem she will be depowered any time soon.
Norse God turned around and looked at her once more.
She was slow.
But the energy she was giving off was nothing to laugh at.
“Matter not.”
The corners of Eddie’s lips curled up and smirked.
KRAKABOOOOOM!!!
From the dark clouds, a streak of blue light shot down at her.
Frantically, she moved out of her way and dodged.
Eddie couldn’t help but scoff, “Impressive for a newbie. Very impressive.”
Although her movement was very stiff and inadequate, Eddie was still impressed.
Cracking his fingers, Eddie drew in a soft breath.
“But as I said, whatever you do, it does not matter. As much as it pains me to say, I won't hesitate to hurt you if it means I can save people. For their sake, I shouldn't hesitate to hurt you, even if I don't want to.”
Eddie kicked the ground, which shook the island, and shot himself right at her.
She tried to form a shield of energy around her, but it was too late.
Eddie punched her in the face, sending her flying off to the nearby ocean.
“Hrm.”
He stood on the ground, flicked his foot through the sand, discharging electricity from his body, he supercharged the electrons in the iron which was in the sand. Using electricity to manipulate the magnetic fields of the iron, he formed a sword of sand, which was sizzling with electricity.
I am not Nazar. It takes me forever to make more-- To manipulate the sand on a molecular level and create a proper sword will take much longer. But for now, this should do.
Eddie swung the sword.
They have force fields up, but exactly HOW powerful are they?
“It’s time to figure it out.”
Further charging the iron sand sword with electricity that flowed from his body.
Energy is energy. It doesn’t have a perfect molecular composition like matter does, but what if… The shields are made of energy. What if I were to introduce- introduce matter to it?
He has little to no hope that it would actually work.
Nazar explained to him how to get through energy force fields, but Eddie at that time was half asleep, so he did not understand half of it.
These force fields are made from magical energies, so compared to normal force fields, matter is even more alien to it.
He was not very confident in the actions he was about to perform.
This was one of the many theories Nazar had. It worked for Nazar because of his power levels and his status in this universe, but Eddie is different. He is just a human who has the power of fantasy Gods.
Energy and matter usually don’t go well together. They can mess up one another too often when they clash, right? One can use energy to manipulate matter or how Nazar manipulates energy sometimes using his-- What was it, molecular manipulation? Or was-- Anyway, what if I do the same here?
Eddie narrowed his eyes and threw the sword at the Godslayers.
Magic doesn’t have subatomic particles as do some forms of energy. But what if I threw this, a mix of magic and matter, what will happen? Will it work?
A green barrier immediately appeared around them, clashing with the coming sword.
A crackling sound of electricity rang out across the area.
BOOM!
Then followed by a blinding flash of light and a deafening sound of explosion.
Eddie squinted his eyes to protect it from the blinding light.
Did it work?
Eddie swung his arm, a gust of wind washed away the smoke that had appeared after the explosion.
As the dust slowly vanished, the Godlsayers were slowly trying to get up.
Good, good. It worked.
Yes, it did work but not for the reasons he thought.
In the heat of the moment, he had forgotten one thing.
He is physically one of the strongest people in this galaxy.
The barrier did not break because Eddie tried to introduce matter to this magical force field, but because his physical strength and the strength of the iron sand was too powerful for the force field.
But that guy…
When the dust settled, only one man was standing unscathed.
He stood tall and mighty.
Alek.
No man should have survived that unscathed. There should have been bruises or blood on his body, but none could be seen.
“You done?” Alek asked Eddie in a bored manner.
Eddie narrowed his eyes.
There is something different about this guy. What is that?
Norse God looked at the flow of energy around him, trying to find out what’s up with Alek.
Energy is all around us, but the concentration of energy was especially dense around Alek.
However, Eddie couldn’t see the flow of energy, but it was interfering with everything around him.
“What the-- GAH?!”
Pain coursed through his head as yellow energy slammed into it.
Dark red liquids oozed out of his right ear.
Ugh, this ringing in my ear. The wound can be healed but this ringing might take a while...
Eddie raised his right hand and slowly massaged the right side of his face.
“!!”
His eyes widened and widened, it looked as if it would fall from the sockets.
My right face is... is...
The skin on the right side of his head was peeled off completely.
“...Huh?”
He blinked a few times in pain.
It seems as if he was losing consciousness.
I did not pay a lot of attention to her… I did not expect her to be this powerful. Even if--
He shook his head.
No, this isn’t here power, it doesn’t feel like hers. That’s…
He glanced once over to Alek.
Something was drawing in his gaze.
Him?
Grinding his teeth, green energy covered.
Skin started to form on his face muscles and bones.
Alright, it’s time to stop holding back. I don’t care who you are, I won’t lose to a lowly punk like you!

From the corner of his eyes, he noticed a huge burst of yellow energy coming towards him.
It was going to hit him again and cause him more injuries.
If I move, it could hurt others but if--
He shook his head furiously.
There is no other way.
I will need to use that.
Eddie turned to his right and faced the coming energy.
Multiple scenarios ran through his head.
He wanted to create a shield of energy to stop it in its tracks, but considering what happened earlier, the shield might not hold up.
What if he takes it head-on? Well, he would get hurt.
What if he was were to reverse the energy by manipulating the weather? That could work, but the rate of success is very low.
He had no other choice.
His final move. The magic and knowledge of Gods.
Eddie breathed in.
“Rune Magic...”
Runic alphabets of energy started to float around him.
“Activate.”
Go away!
And so, the coming energy attack vanished.
But--
“!!”
Someone shot him with an energy beam in the back.
Although it was not as powerful as the golden energy shot by that woman, he still felt it.
Damn it. If I let loose, I could damage the civilians...
Eddie has been saving people for many years. He has battled many enemies and saved many worlds.
However, in every battle he had in the past, he never once came across a situation like this.
He has fought in the middle of the city before, but Nazar was always around, so no one got hurt.
But he is not here now, so Eddie glanced around nervously.
What should I do?
There was an option to teleport them away using one of his many spells, but he can’t teleport everyone out of here.
Furthermore, there is a thin barrier - unnoticeable by the naked eye - around the island which is restricting teleportation.
I need to keep them safe, but I also don’t want to get hurt. So...
He turned around and studied his surroundings.
In front of him, the woman with yellow energy was coming right at him.
To his left side, there were dozens of Godslayers who had now recovered from the explosion.
And to his left, there were civilians.
Damn…
The skies turned darker and darker. The thunders roared like angry lions.
Blinding lights shot down at the island full of thousands.
However, no one was hurt.
The Godslayers and other superhumans did not pay a lot of attention to it, but if they had, they would have noticed something odd about the thunder strikes.
It was not randomly shooting down, but it was shooting down perfectly lined up, creating a wall around Eddie and the superhumans and leaving the civilians away.
“Hrm,” Eddie smirked as he kicked the ground with his right foot.
Tremors were sent across the whole island.
But to the surprise of everyone, no one was hurt.
I am not Nazar-- I am not a real God but a human pretending to be one.
He crouched a little.
So what? So, what if I am not a God? But...
There are many Gods in this universe. Nazar, The Supreme One, the Sixth Dimensional Gods, and the Third Dimensional Gods.
In the past, there existed Gods for each race and now, there are new and mysterious Gods according to Eddie; the Earth Gods.
However, the name God has been donned by many people in the past. Anyone with some power thinks they are a God.
Which means, it has lost its meaning.
If someone were to say they were a God, people would shrug it off. God is an alias worn by a maniac who thinks they are above everyone else.
That’s right! I don’t need a title like that.
Yes, that’s right.
You don’t need a title.
What you need is;
“As long as I have heart and power, titles are MEANINGLESS!”
Eddie shot himself right at Ebo.
She was flying towards Eddie, but she was too slow for him.
He could see her move like a turtle.
“Because a hero...”
His chest tightened and a happy smile flourished widely on his face.
“Save people, not care about meaningless titles.”
He swung his clenched right hand.
I am not Nazar. I am not a cosmic being who can wipe out the universe with a gaze. But what I do have is...
Eddie’s punch moved, ripping through the air molecules.
A heart. A conviction. I AM A HERO WHO WILL SAVE EVERYONE IN TROUBLE!!!
His fist made contact with Ebo’s left shoulder, dislocating it.
“GYAH!!!”
She held her shoulder with her right hand as she screamed in agony.
“Sorry,” Eddie apologised from the bottom of his heart as he tried to force a smile. "My friend will fix it later for you."
Now then...
He turned around, leaving Ebo behind.
The Godslayer was just standing and not making a move.
Something felt off.
Clicking his tongue, Eddie formed a large red magical circle above them and shot a huge energy beam at them.
I should avoid that non-armoured person. I don’t want to hurt him, even if he is weird.
The energy beam was powerful enough to incinerate cities, but Eddie knew that these Godslayers would be able to take it head-on without a problem so he wanted to experiment on these armours. How powerful are they really? What are their capabilities?
He glanced back at Ebo with a lot of guilt in his eyes to make sure if she was alright.
She was far from alright, of course.
She is strong, she won’t die.
He reassured himself and turned to face the Godslayers again.
The attack had hit them and the result was not surprising.
“It seems you have absorbed my magic,” Eddie muttered in a depressed and defeated manner. “Absorbers are the most annoying ones. How do you deal with them, Nazar?”
It seems Eddie was expecting an answer of some sort.
But naturally, there was no answer.
What if I overload them?
He quickly threw away that train of thought and shook his head.
Let’s not make it worse by powering them up.
Eddie recalled a time when he faced an ancient mage in the Sayara Galaxy. Everything Eddie threw at him, the mage absorbed it and powered up himself.
“I want to know something.”
Eddie and Alek’s gazes met.
“Who are you?”
“Alek.”
Eddie frowned.
“No, I mean who are all of you. You and these armors.”*
“The 「No Names」.”
“Ohhh,” Eddie recalled the organisation he has heard a lot about.
Why are there so many nameless ones around… No Names and the Nameless One. That’s a big number of nameless ones.
He let out a heavy sigh.
Alek glanced at the Godslayers and gestured them with his eyes.
The next instant, all of them shot themselves at Eddie.
Dozens of humans in a magic-powered high-tech armour that can potentially absorb his attacks.
I am going to keep my distance.
Eddie stabbed his left foot into the ground in return.
A giant wall of rocks appeared between them.
“!!”
Even though he looked surprised, he was expecting the wall to be broken by the armours.
Then what… ! Oh.
The air suddenly grew heavy and foggier.
Now that the Godslayers vision was obstructed, Eddie cracked his fingers.
Colder!
The air grew thicker and colder. In an instant, it became colder than minus 5,000 degrees.
But it was not enough.
The Godslayer armours had their own localised environment thanks to their energies messing with natural laws around them.
Magic is a power that is used to bend the natural laws of the universe to the user’s will, which is why they are able to achieve feats on a level not seen normally.
So, since the Godslayer armours are equipped with magic that comes straight from the source, it creates a localised environment for the user, thus being able to resist trivial changes to their surroundings like cold weather.
Naturally, they are also resistance to things that obstruct their vision, such as blinding light or darkness.
Through the thick air, Eddie sensed that they were unfazed, so he let out another heavy sigh filled with annoyance and anger.
Wellllllllllllllllll………………...
Eddie clenched his fist.
His physical stats are extremely high, so he doesn’t always need to rely on magic.
He was scared that if he touches them, they might steal his magic and make things worse.
But right now, he wants to stop being wary and fight them head-on.
So.
Eddie drew in another breath, kicked the ground and shot himself at them with unimaginable speed.
He swung his fist through the thick frozen air and slammed it into their leg, breaking every bone in it.
“!!”
Shit! How?!?
The armours are physically strong, but not strong enough for his fists.
Furthermore, he did not sense his energies being stolen. Perhaps it takes time to steal energies?
Thank god, I didn’t punch them in the chest or the head.
He did not have time to let out a relieved sigh.
Instead, he continued to break the legs of his opponents with a heavy heart full of regret and grief.
Yes, they are criminals who nearly killed innocent people, but to Eddie, they are still humans. And he will do his best not to harm humans as much as possible.
In less than a second, he got rid of the soldiers in the armours.
That… was easy.
Eddie floating a little above the ground realised something; the Godslayers were down, Ebo Kojo was down.
But!
One person was still standing.
Eddie waved his hand, with a gust of wind, Alek should have lost his balance and fell down.
However...
Alek was still standing.
No, that was not all.
With a wave of his hand, the foggy cold air and thunder strikes disappeared.
Widening his eyes, Eddie thought, Nobody can control my elements once I have activated it. What the--- Who is this guy?!
“『Are you his only friend?』”
Alek’s voice changed.
The voice was deeper than usual, more sinister and evil, but also carried a hint of divinity.
‘His’?
Eddie wondered who this man was and why his voice suddenly changed.
“『If I were to kill you, would he finally...』”
The man uttered a few words which caused Eddie to gulp.
“Why you!!”
Anger overflowed through Eddie's body.
The heat of his body raised and raised as he grit his teeth and clenched his fists hard. Hard enough it felt like his fingers could stab into his hands, causing it to bleed.
With bloodlust in his eyes, Eddie shot himself at this man.
But in return, he smiled thinly.
A thin smile that stretched from one ear to the other.
A smile so sinister, it was no different than that of a demon.
No, it was worse than a demon.
“How dare you--”
The man raised his hand.
Energy gathered in his palm and shot right at Eddie.
It should have pulverised him in an instant but the man wanted to make sure that Eddie saw it coming, and even if he tried his best, he would die anyway.
Inescapable death situation.
No matter which path he takes, he will die.
Eddie couldn’t stop himself from moving forward.
The anger in his eyes was unnatural.
He had never felt anger like this, so he could not control his movement.
He only wanted to fly right at the man, not noticing the energy ball.
“『Die!』”
And so…
The energy blast and Eddie flew right at each other.
လလလ
Far from this world, someone opened their flaring white eyes with a complex expression on their face, a mix of fear and surprise and curiosity.
လလလ
Meanwhile in the less complicated side of the world:
Emma sat on the sofa next to Aeron and stared at him.
“How come you never played games with me when I asked you, but you play it with Nazar?”
She was curious and she wanted answers.
For many years, she asked both of her brothers to play games with her but refused. When Solace was posing as Nazar, she would accept her invitation, but even that was quite rare.
“This screams sexism.”
“What? No. No. No, that’s not it. That’s not the case. It’s just--”
“Heh,” Emma laughed loudly, which caused Aeron to frown. “I am messing with you.”
Since Nazar left, his controller was left behind.
Emma with a curious look in her eyes touched the holographic controller.
“How does this even work?” she muttered as she strolled her fingers around the controller. She could feel every angle of the control as if it was the real thing. “Is this magic?”
Emma held the controller between her hands.
“I am playing too.”
“Cool. But go easy on me.”
Hearing that, on Emma’s face, a smug smile flourished.
“Heh.”
In this household, everyone is very smart or has an intelligence level that can be considered a genius by normal standards. However, Emma is not one of them.
She is not smart.
Everyone else in this household excels in many fields of science, but she struggled to pass even the basic science tests in high school.
Because of that, she always felt like she was the bottom of the barrel in this family and couldn’t compete with any of them in anything.
So, seeing how she had something over Aeron for once, she felt proud deep down.
“Hope you survive the experience, brother.”
However...
“WHAT THE FUCK?!?!” Emma looked at Aeron’s profile and shouted at him. “HOW DID YOU WIN?!”
With a stiff smile, Aeron moved his head away a little. Emma’s loud voice was a little too much for him.
“HOW THE HELL ARE YOU WINNING JUST BY SMASHING BUTTONS TOGETHER?!?!”
“I-I-I don’t know...”
Emma breathed a heavy sigh.
After taking a few deep breaths, she moved her gaze away from Aeron and towards the screen.
“It is almost as if this game is specifically made to win by mashing buttons at random…!!”
A stroke of light flashed across her mind.
Don’t tell me he did this on purpose so Aeron could play for longer?!
“Fine,” she narrowed her fiery eyes that were burning with determination and passion. “I am going to win.”
Aeron continued to smile stiffly as he noticed how passionate she was about games. So passionate that she resembled a demon.
“JUST YOU WATCH!”
