Chapter 93 - Arc 12 - The God Eater - Part 7
“Wh-What are you doing?” Angela said as her cheeks twitched stiffly.
Nazar, who was sitting on the floor, waved at her without looking.
“Why is there paper all over the floor?”
“Oh, he is trying to destroy the universe,” Aeron said with a blank look on his face as he drank beer from the can.
“...Huh?”
Aeron shrugged.
“He said he will do it in an hour.”
Angela sighed heavily.
She entered the room and looked at some of the papers.
“These equations… They are way too complicated for us.”
“Yeah, I don’t think we will be able to understand it,” Aerons said as she smiled. “So, I would rather not even look at it.”
“Now, if I just collapse the universal barriers… Hm, doing it at the side of the universe… That should take a few hours and someone might even fix it, which will make me lose the bet-- Oooh, what if I just destroy the dimensional barriers between lower and higher planes of existence?”
Nazar shook his head.
“Nah, that will just destroy the multiverse.”
“Wh-wha-what?!?!”
“Wh-wha-what?!?!”
Both Aeron and Angela shouted at him with an alarmed and concerned look on their face.
Nazar looked at them blankly.
“What?”
“You can actually do that?!”
“You can actually do that?!”
“Aww, that’s cute. You two talking in unis--”
“Shut up!”
“Shut up!”
Aeron and Angela exchanged glances before taking a deep breath.
“You can really destroy the multiverse? Without your powers?” Angela asked slowly.
Nazar nodded at them with an expression on his face that suggested that it was something obvious and simple.
They both gulped.
“Holy shit. That is pretty cool.”
Aeron looked at Angela in reflex with a surprised look on his face.
“I know, right?” Nazar replied to her with an excited look on his face.
“But also scary,” Angela added.
“Anyway, why do you know this?” Aeron asked as he looked at the papers curiously.
“I did not. I just figured it out in the last few minutes.”
“...”
“...”
Their eyes widened in surprise.
Nazar smiled proudly.
“I told you, I am not stupid.”
Angela looked at Aeron immediately.
“I just called him stupid as usual. Emma does it but he never went as far as to create an equation that destroys the multiverse.”
Angela looked back at Nazar as she exhaled deeply.
“How exactly this equation works?”
“I am trying to figure out which part to attack that will collapse the universe on itself. I will just need to find the weakest part and attack it with a bomb. Which I am trying to figure out now. I want to do it with household appliances.”
“Will you… Will you actually do it?”
Seeing the scared look on her face, Nazar laughed.
“Of course not.”
She let out a sigh of relief.
“I am just trying to prove to your husband here that I am not stupid. I am very proud of my intelligence.”
“You really are an idiot,” Aeron said.
“Now, I am going to destroy the multiverse.”
“Aeron,” Angela said with a cold tone.
“He is not going to do it. Plus, I am only joking.”
“Yeah, I won’t do it. Why do you think I want to destroy this multiverse?”
Nazar smiled thinly.
“But I could sell it for good money.”

“Don’t you have an empire of your own? Aren’t you pretty rich?”
“Yeah and?”
Angela frowned.
“Please don’t sell it.”
“Nevermind that, just take a look at these equations.”
Nazar handed Angela a few pages.
“These are related to other dimensions. I thought you would be interested in it.”
“Thanks...”
Angela took the papers with conflicted feelings.
“And these are for you,” Nazar handed a few pages to Aeron. “They are space-related. The primal forces of the universe and stuff like that.”
“Thanks…?”
“Read through them and understand your fields on a higher level.”
Both of them looked at him with a blank look.
“Uh… Maybe you want to explain some of them?”
“Oh, right.”
Seeing the prideful smile on Nazar's face, they thought it would have been better if they did not ask.

In the same house, on the ground floor, Laura was sitting in the living room, nervously.
(Awkward.) She thought to herself. (It’s not that I am nervous… But I am still nervous.)
Laura chuckled.
(That doesn’t even make sense.)
She sighed.
(Still. This is house is big. Like, it’s really, really large. And there are books in every corner of the house.)
She looked around nervously in the room.
(This house feels so empty. There are like five of them living here. Couldn't they just make it smaller...? Or maybe its because they have an extended family? And this is a shared house?)
As she was looking around, she saw a family photo. In the photo, it was young Nazar, Emma, Aeron and their parents.
(I wonder how long ago they took that photo.)
Standing up, she went close to the wall and looked at the large photo.
(That must be his father… Hm, did he die recently? Should I say something or should I not remind them of it? Hmmm.)
While thinking seriously, she ignored her surroundings.
(But it doesn’t seem like he is dead recently… Nazar did say he died years ago but I thought maybe he said that because he was in another world... Things can be a little hard to understand with him sometimes. Still, if I bring it up, would it be weird? I have never been to a funeral, but it would be weird, right…?)
Her thoughts trailed off as she remembered the old timeline. Both of her parents were killed but no one came to their funeral.
(Well, I don’t think these are the people who would care too much about something like that. Especially Emma.)
In the old timeline, Emma and Laura knew each other. They had met a few times.
(But her brother… is scary.)
Laura shuddered as she recalled her interaction with Aeron in the old timeline.
When Laura was young, one day, her younger brother was diagnosed with a terminal illness. In a search for a cure, her parents were sought out by the demon known as Zerathos.
He forced them to form a pact with him. And that means only one thing: death!
Risen back as the undead, they worked for the demon in a mission to create superhumans. Which means, they left their terminally ill child to Laura. But they did support them financially - to not raise suspension.
Through the years, they broke all contact with their relatives.
When Nazar “killed” the undead in 2018 of the original timeline, Laura and her brother lost these shells of their parents.
But of course, they were not dead. At that time, Nazar did not know about them nor did he know how to permanently kill an undead.

When Zeratho’s army attacked Earth, Nazar learned how to defeat them. So, he killed every undead on the planet - which included the undead versions of Laura’s parents.
Many months later, when Aeron returned from his slumbers, he told Laura that Nazar killed her parents along with the rest of the undead.
Laura was not sure but she felt a little conflicted within.
Besides telling her that, Aeron at that time looked very scary and was extremely powerful.
And he was somewhat evil. Under the influence of the demon, he took the whole world hostage.
“That’s my dad,” Emma said, who was now standing next to her.
Hearing her voice out of nowhere, Laura’s heart skipped a beat in fear and her body jerked.
“Oh, it's you,” she said as she let out a sigh of relief.
“Sorry, sorry,” Emma replied with a wide smile.
They both looked back at the photo.
“Your father… I am sorry for your loss.”
“Thanks.”
Laura was not sure what else to say, so she went quiet.
After a few moments of silence, Emma cleared her throat.
"But forget that..."
Emma took a deep breath.
"Can I ask a question?"
Confused, Laura nodded.
"Why him? Nazar, I mean. He is immature, annoying, stupid, boring, and even emotionally unstable at times - from what that busty woman said. So, why?"
(Busty woman?!?! I hope she means Solace.)
Laura thought deeply about it as she looked at the photo of Nazar's family.
"I know about your situation in the old world, but why here? Being with him, doesn't it make life harder for you?"
Emma chuckled nervously as she waved her hands before her chest.
"Sorry, I guess I shouldn't have asked those questions."
"It's okay, don't worry."
She cleared her throat.
"I was kind of curious. I mean, if it was me, I wouldn't even look at him twice, haha."
"Well, I guess you might be right. But he does have good qualities too, don't you agree?"
Emma could not deny that.
"He does but his bad ones are more evident."
"That is true. But…"
Laura cringed.
*Hm?" Emma tilted her head in a confused manner.
"Nothing. I was going to say something along the lines of "it's love" and I am glad it didn't come out."
"Yeah, me too," Emma said with a stiff smile.
"But then again, there are no other answers to it."
"I see…"
Emma laughed.
"What is it?"
"It's just I had this very stupid idea at first about why you were with him, haha."
"Oh? Please do tell. I am kind of interested."
"Well… I thought you were probably some alien entity or something who was just there to steal his power."
"Oh, you figured out my secret, huh?" Laura said with a blank look on her face. "I must eliminate you now."
Emma patted Laura on her shoulder and smiled widely.
"Kind of glad it's different though."
"Umm…"
"I do find him annoying at times but he is still my brother. Don't want to see him getting hurt, you know?"
"Fair enough."
Emma let out a sigh of relief.
"You are still weird," Laura said as she laughed.
She shrugged, "I guess people don't change."
"Looking at us, I guess you are right."
Emma sat down on one of the sofas as she turned on the TV in the room.
Laura stopped looking at the picture and sat down opposite her.
“What happened to that thing… Uh… What is it called? You know, the one where you… uh, the one where you go to that island for a while?”
“Oh. It doesn’t have an official name so everyone just calls it a graduation party.”
“Ah.”
“Maybe it has, I don’t know it.”
Laura laughed.
“By the way, what will happen to that? Will you miss anything if you aren’t there?”
“Not really,” Laura shrugged. “Our appointments are booked already. Until then, we are free to do nothing. And staying 20 days on a beach… I don’t know, seems kind of boring, haha.”
“Yeah, that is true.”
Emma looked down at the remote as she navigated the TV.
“Hey, if you are free, would you like to come out with me tomorrow? I will show you around. And you know, catch up?”
Emma smiled nervously.
“O-of course, if you don’t mind.”
“Yeah, I would love that. I have never been here and would love to check it out. Sure.”
“Oh great. Or if you want Nazar to show it to you, then that’s cool too, haha.”
“I don’t think he has the courage to ask something like that.”
Emma laughed.
“Is he that much of a wuss?”
“Most of the time,” Laura said as she chuckled.
“Wow…”
“Eh, it has merits,” Laura tilted her head to left a little as she smiled thinly.
Emma smiled stiffly.
“I don’t want to know any more than that, thanks.”

Many hours later, they were sitting around a table and eating dinner.
“Wait, I thought you couldn’t get drunk??” Emma asked in surprise. “I remember you said that in your normal human body, you are stronger, faster and more durable than a normal human. And can heal from a lot of wounds?”
“Yeah in my original human body.”
Everyone tilted their heads in confusion.
“This one is highly modified. It’s extremely weak.”
“Oh...”
“I can still change it. I don’t need powers to change my forms. One sec.”
Nazar closed his eyes and his form changed slightly. He did not look much different but he looked more energetic and more muscular. His hair was also a little longer than usual.
“And I am no longer drunk. This body is not exactly normal if I am being honest.”
“So, you don’t get drunk?” Angela asked with a curious look in her eyes. “Like… Like at all?”
“In most of my forms, no.”
“Wow, that’s impressive.”
“It has a lot of drawbacks. I mean, I can’t get drunk, or feel a lot of pain, or… You know, stuff like that.”
“Why would you want to get drunk? Or feel pain?”
“He is a masochist,” Laura added.
Noticing the eyes fixated on her, she noticed what she said.
“N-n-no. Not like that,” she tried to explain with a beet-red face. “Uh… It’s uh… You know, kind of...”
She sighed as she gave up.
“To put it simply, it’s not that kind of masochism. It’s different. I am not sure if it qualifies as masochism.”
“Nazar!” Aya said with a disgusted look. “Please.”
Nazar shrugged as he laughed.
“What, I need to clear my name. If I don’t you guys...”
Nazar looked around.
“Stop looking at me as if I am trash.”
“You are not?”
Nazar looked at Aeron and sighed heavily.
“As soon as my powers return, I am mind wiping everyone. Laugh all you want until then.”
“I always knew you were weird,” Angela said as she laughed.
“Look, it’s not like that.”
“Right. We get it.”
“Then stop laughing.”
“Fine, I will.”
Nazar looked around the table again nervously.
Seeing the disappointed look on his mom’s face, Nazar let out a heavy sigh again.
“You are a disappointment to our bloodline, Nazar."
Nazar burst into laughter at Emma statement.
He laughed so hard, he started coughing.
"Wh… What are we some kind of nobles?"
He picked up a glass of water.
Emma thought about it.
"If I remember correctly, dad used to talk about how our ancestors from hundreds of years ago were nobles."
Nazar stared at her blankly.
"Isn't it right, mom?"
"Yeah, he said it. But not sure 100%."
"Matters not," Nazar smiled proudly. "I am a royalty myself."
But that smile soon disappeared when Emma said, "Oh man, I feel so sorry for that planet. They couldn't have gotten a worse king than you."
"I want to send them my condolences before it's too late."
Nazar frowned.
"Look, I am a decent king."
"A king needs charisma, leadership and not masochism."
"Oh come on now. I do have… decent leadership…"
Nazar scratched the back of his head awkwardly as he avoided their gaze. He could never lead those people with Solace and Baros' help.
"Nevermind."
"Hey Laura, defend your man, at least," Angela said as she laughed.
"...I will sit this one out," Laura averted her gaze.
"Aw, that's disappointing. I was hoping you would add more fuel to the fire."
"Thanks, Emma," Nazar said in a flat voice. "Who needs an enemy when they have a sister like you?"

13th of July - Planet Earth:
Nazar was floating above the Atlantic Ocean.
(The cold breeze of summer… It cannot get any better than this, right Rina?)
Nazar squinted his eyes in pain as he remembered planet Eir.
(Tch. Why do I keep remembering that?)
"Here goes nothing…"
Inhaling sharply, Nazar narrowed his eyes.
"AROSUS!!!!!"
Shouting on top of his lungs, Nazar's voice echoed through creation.
In the Sixth Dimensional Plane of Existence, the God of Power smiled excitedly.
"Do I finally get to see a glimpse of him?"
Not too far from him, Esme, the Goddess of Life looked worried.
"This can't be good… What are you doing, Nazar?"
In Heaven, the Angel of Death smiled bitterly.
"This will not end well, God," said Azazel in a weak voice.
The Queen of Virrasil narrowed her eyes in a place no one knows about.
"Oh? So, you have exhausted all other options?"
Lucifer, in his dimension, cracked his fingers.
"It seems he is coming… I need to keep this existence safe. His damage will be minimal."
In an unknown dimension, two of the oldest beings of this Ultraverse exchanged glances.
"Oh, this could be troublesome to our plan," said the man without a name.
"You should have done it earlier, Destroyer."
Away from the lights, the darkness twitched slightly.
//MY MASTER… HE IS COMING.//
The darkness itself spoke. Null spoke.
Far from the lights that make up the creation, far from the thousands of Ultraverses and megaverses, a man with light brown skin and white hair was meditating in the middle of nowhere.
"Oho?"
Opening his red glowing eyes, he crackled with laughter.
A peal of laughter so sinister, even an omnipresent and nigh-omnipotent void itself, God of Darkness and Nothing, Null felt scared.
//GOD IS COMING, MASTER!//

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke.
