Chapter 90 - Arc 12 - The God Eater - Part 4
Nazar gave control to his other personality to battle the beast known as the God Eater.
As scars appeared on his body, emotions left him.
(Alternative layer… At my current limits, I can only make it as large as the solar system.) He thought to himself. (But that should be more than enough. For now.)
Nazar created another layer on top of the world. Everything is the same but it's also different.
(Whatever we destroy here… It should not affect the real world.)
He sucked in a breath as he shot himself towards the beast.
"You have gotten weaker, God."
(It doesn't matter.) Nazar thought to himself. (I know, I can win.)
"I do not want to fight you, God. But I need your power. So..."
As their first clashed, the world beneath was reduced to nothing.
The beast noticed that something was off but did not care.
So, he unleashed an omnidirectional energy attack destroying everything in the solar system.
"!!!"
Nazar was not expecting that.
(I forgot that he had stolen my energies from the Quantum Realm. So…)
He wondered, why did the beast not destroy more than this solar system? Why did he not remove the alternative layer?
(Of course.)
The answer was simple: the beast wanted to display his superior power and to show that he doesn't hold back.
(Well matter not… At least the world is safe. If it wasn’t, the other one would have killed me immediately.)
"With a mere clash of our fists, I stole a lot of energies from you. We don't have to fight."
(My speciality is in data. I do not have any data on this being. So, how do I come up with plans of action?)
“So, just let me touch you, God. It will be over in a--Urk!”
Nazar punched him in the stomach.
“Hrm?”
However, the beast could not absorb his energies.
“Is that--Uff?!”
Before the beast could talk, Nazar continued to hit it.
(Draw energies from elsewhere. Don’t use your own. Magic, psychic, kinetic, cosmic energies, and more. Use those.)
Getting punched in the head multiple times, the beast struggled to think.
(I need to cover myself with these energies. My own energies are limited and useless, so I will use everything else.)
Nazar then held the beast’s head in his hands and pulled him down.
Kneeing him in the face, blood flowed down from the beast’s face.
(So, it works… But now I need to find a way to negate its regeneration. And find a way to stop it from coming back.)
He sucked in a break before kicking the beast in its right hip.
“Grrqq!”
Ignoring the beast’s cry of pain, Nazar kicked him in the other hip.
In his hand, a long sword appeared.
Swinging it, he cut off the beast’s legs.
(How do I…!!)
In the original timeline, when Nazar met aliens - Death 100 - for the first time, they inserted deadly self-sufficient nanites into his bloodstream which blew up every few seconds, hurting him a lot. These deadly nanites were used to counter his regenerative abilities by blowing him up on a cellular level.
(All I need to do--)
“I am getting tired of this, God.”
With a bright white light, the beast was back to normal.
“Fight like a man.”
Nazar jumped back as he noticed his increased power levels.
Spreading his arms, he said, “I need to win. I don’t have to fight like a man.”

Clapping his hands, a deafening sound rang out.
(Now for the shockwave...)
Controlling the shockwave of the thunderclap, he sent it straight to the God Eater.
Before it could react, the beast was thrown away slightly.
(Long-range and non-energy attacks are better.)
Nazar sucked in a breath.
(Sonic Scream!)
He screamed.
Vibrations of the sonic scream can be felt on dozens of worlds.
“Argh!!”
The beast painfully moved his hands to cover his ears.
But it was still not enough.
The eardrums of the beast burst open. Blood streamed down from his ears.
(Good. It’s worki-- Ah, not again.)
With a beam of light, the beast was back in his prime shape.
“You tire ME!”
The beast moved towards Nazar.
(His speed has increased a thousandfold.)
(Switch.)
Hearing a voice in his head, he sighed.
(Okay.)
Nazar’s scars vanished as his form changed.
“Sup, ugly?”
The beast jumped back slightly.
“Who are...you?”
Nazar smiled thinly as he spread his arms wide.
“Behold...”
His beautiful form had been replaced by something far uglier and sinister.
His beautiful white hair was replaced by two horns.
Nazar’s skin was all red now.
From his back, two dark grey wings had shot out.
A tail flapped behind his back.
Unlike normal demons, he still looked like Nazar but with slightly different features and skin tone.
“My demon form.”
His mouth ripped in half, revealing his demonic fangs and a snake-like tongue.
“Now then...”
Nazar shot himself towards the beast.
Before the beast could react, he held it by the neck and slammed him into a planet that was not there mere seconds ago.
“Confess your sins!” he spoke with a sinister laugh. “And I might reduce your punishment, beast.”
Nazar jumped up.
“Gyahahahahahaha...”
Between the palms of his hands, a dark energy sphere appeared.
“I will eat your dreams!”
The beast tried to dodge the dark sphere coming towards it, but it was too slow.
“No, scratch that!!”
With a twitch of his hand, another dark sphere appeared as the beast found itself outside of the dark sphere.
“I will feast on your soul instead, you pathetic and miserable creature. Gyahahaha.”
Nazar moved, slamming the dark energy sphere into the chest of the beast.
“Uff!”
Nazar collected his soul.
Soulless, the beast fell down. But it was not dead.
Hellfire appeared around the beast and burned him.
The beast felt like it was burning for an eternity when only a second had passed.
“I wonder how it tastes.”
He floated above the beast and licked the dark energy sphere.
“Souls are the tastiest☆.”
He wiped his drooling mouth with the back of his hand and gulped.
“Here it comes...” Nazar licked his lips with his snake-like tongue in anticipation.
Nazar gulped down the dark energy sphere in one go.
But...
“Blergh!! Disgusting!”
He spat out the dark energy sphere which was holding the soul of the beast.
“Disgusting! Absolutely disgusting!”
“God...”
The beast growled as a white light appears around him.
“I will kill you for this.”
For the first time, the beast seemed serious about the battle.
“Okay...”
Nazar’s form changed once more as a bright light covered him.
As he flapped his white wings in the sky, he smiled widely.
The wind blew on his blond bangs, revealing blue eyes and a white face.
“I do not wish to battle a beast such as you. I wish to understand you.”
The beast clicked his tongue and shot itself towards Nazar.

“I will kill you now!” the beast growled at Nazar.
Until now, the beast was calm but right now, he lost his temper.
“Oh my, what seems to be troubling you, young beast? As an angel, I cannot let a lonely beast such as you suffer. Let me help you. Let me share your pain.”
The beast swung its fist but Nazar merely dodged it.
Slapping him on the back, the beast was thrown away.
Instead of feeling pain, the beast felt something else.
He had used that connection to steal a large amount of Nazar’s power.
“What are you? You are not...”
The beast looked down at itself with a confused look. His power was growing by every passing second. But something was wrong about this power.
“My orders are to calm you, my beastly friend. If you want that power, I shall give it to you.”
The beast narrowed his eyes and shot himself towards Nazar.
But Nazar flapped his wings and flew up, dodging him.
“My task is to make you happy, my beastly friend. I am to give you the power you want.”
"Wh-what are you...?"
His wings lit up with light yellow energy.
“Why do you steal our power?”
The beast looked down at himself as he tried to analyse this unlimited power he just got.
“The queen has needs for your power.”
"Then take it. But the Queen..."
Nazar narrowed his eyes as he shot dozens of feathers from his wings.
“Why does she require more power?”
“I don’t ask questions, God. I do as I am told.”
"I see. Well, touch these feathers. They contain energies that can keep worlds running for thousands of years. Or perhaps destroy them. But it should feed you."
The beast clenched his fist and punched the air.
"I don't trust you, God. I won't touch this odd power."
Nazar’s feathers were thrown away.
“You forget, God...”
The beast smiled thinly as he understood the nature of this angelic Nazar.
“I have your power. But this... It's different. It's not your true power.”
(Hm. So, he was right. Making it so my angelic powers look like my "real" power, it confused the beast. But...)
Nazar smiled as he watched the beast cleansed himself from this Nazar's energies.
(Oh, this is very interesting.)
“So, what if each of your feathers can destroy worlds?”
The God Eater kicked the ground and shot himself towards Nazar like a rocket.
“I will steal your power. I will find a way to get past this poison.”
Nazar stopped listening to him as he thought.
(This beast took my power from the Quantum Realm, right? So, why is it so weak? His powers should have been much higher. Perhaps... Did he already hand over most of the power to the queen? Hm, that would make a lot of sense.)
He clenched his fist.
(For the final phase of my assignment.)
Nazar swung his fist and punched the incoming beast in the face.
And just like that, it’s head was blown off.
“And now...”
A bright white light appeared again and the beast was back to normal.
Nazar smiled thinly as his form changed once more.
(I understand now. I know how to kill you forever.)
“Finally!” the beast smiled excitedly at the sight of Nazar. “Now, I will steal all that-- Huh?”
Seeing that thin smile on Nazar's face, the beast stepped back.
“What… What are you doing, God?”
For some reasons, the beast was very scared. He did not understand the fear he was feeling.
Being covered with many different forms of energies, he cracked his knuckles.
“It’s a gamble.”
As his hair changed colour many times over in a second, he waved his hand.
He placed a layer on top of everything in the multiverse.
“It’s a gamble of life and death.”
As white steam left his mouth, he moved.
“I can make it so 1 is 0. I can make it so 50 is smaller than 10. I can make the word defeat becomes victory. Do you understand what I am getting at, beast?”
The beast gulped. It did not understand why, but he was feeling intense fear.
“I will change you. I will put the multiverse on the line for it!”
"..."
"I will defeat you!"

Bradley Island:
On the edge of the island, there was a large bungalow, surrounded by dozens of security.
Inside this bungalow, a man known as Ishaya Bradley was sitting in his office. In front of this man, a holographic screen was floating, showing the face of a skinny red-haired man.
“David, did you receive the files I sent you?”
“- Mm-hmm. And I don’t believe a word it says. -”
Ishaya frowned.
“- Look, I don’t believe that this nobody is the first superhuman on the planet. -”
“David, David, David… You are the head of CIA and yet you are still an idiot.”
“- There is no way this guy is Ion. I have seen the data you sent me. His personality is very off from a guy who is a superhero. And what kind of name is Nazar Hall? It doesn't fit the-- Nevermind. -”
“Your own men were investigating him. And this is what they have come up with. And I believe them.”
“- Why? -”
“I will tell you soon, but check all the files. It matches up.”
The other man sighed.
“- So, what if his intelligence changes? Data from his schools and university shows that he is a complete idiot academically but when it comes to exams, he scores the highest. -”
“That is odd.”
“- No, not really. He is just lazy. And with that lazy personality of his, I don’t think he is Ion. -”
Ishaya sighed deeply.
“I know that they are both the same. Just trust me.”
The other man’s eyes widened.
“I orchestrated an attack on Detroit using the No Names and I managed to gather some sweet data.”
“- I knew that you attacked that city {covering up for you was very hard} but I didn’t expect you to have gathered some data. Interesting. -”
He sent a file to the other man known as David.
“- !! -”
The man stood up frantically.
“- You had a picture of him all this time?!?! -”
Ishaya smiled.
“Of course. This is the proof you need. Nazar Hall is Ion.”
“- What about Norse God? He is more power and a bigger threat. -”
Ishaya thought a little before responding to him.
“That will be very hard to do since no one can see his face.”
“- Anyway, now that we know his secret identity, it will be easy to kill him-- -”
Ishaya burst into laughter.
“Sorry, sorry… Just give me a… Just give me a second here.”
“- ??? -”
After a short while, Ishaya cleared his throat and continued to speak.
“Right. Sorry. Ahem.”
He wiped the tears of his eyes.
“Ahh. I haven’t laughed like that in so long. Thanks, David.”
“- Uhhhhh? -”
“Nevermind that. According to new information I have gotten - I won’t identify the source, sorry - he is unkillable.”
“- …………….What? That is impossible. -”
“His name is Nazar and he is perhaps the most powerful being in the universe.”
David gulped but Ishaya shook his head.
“Scratch that. According to her, he is the most powerful being to ever exist. A God.”
David slowly untied his tie and gasped for breath.
“I am not joking.”
Ishaya narrowed his eyes.
“I remember the old world.”
David was not sure what he meant by the old world.
“He destroyed everything. His face and then a bright white light.”
As David struggled to digest what he heard today, he received some new data.
He looked closely to the screen and tried to not focus on what he heard a moment ago.
"What is it?"
“- A-a-apparently an island appeared out of nowhere in the Atlantic Ocean a few moments ago. -”
“It is definitely him.”
Ishaya tried not to show it, but David noticed something.
“- You are scared of him, are you not? -”
“Well, of course. However, I can’t help but try to challenge him.”
“- Why? -”
“I want to use him as a stepping stone for humanity. I want to use God as a way to improve the world and make humanity reach newer positions.”
“- Wait, does that mean…? -”
Ishaya nodded.
“He is also the one who created the superhumans. That is messing with my plans but I will use it. I will make sure humanity reach newer heights. Heights on a level never seen in the universe. I will make sure that we reach those goals with their help.”
He chuckled.
“But of course, I will use these powerful beings as stepping stone. Humans do not need their help but we can use them. So!”
He stood up.
“David, I need your trained men. Have them pose as the No Names. {They are the perfect cover}. Because it’s time to challenge God himself.”
“- Ishaya... -”
In front of Ishaya, a long and heavy glowing sword appeared from thin air. It resembled a Viking sword.
“- What… is that? -”
Picking up the sword, Ishaya smiled thinly.
“The God Killer.”
“- The… what? -”
David clicked his tongue.
“- Listen here, Ishaya… I get that you have a plan, but it’s a dumb-- -”
“Shut up, David.”
Hearing the serious tone of Ishaya, David stopped talking.
“This world is run by the corporations and the rich. I put you in that position. So, do as you are told. Or else...”
Seeing the thin smile on his face, David knew it will not end well for him. So, he decided to nod his head.
“- I will find you the soldiers you are looking for. -”
“Good.”
Ishaya looked at the sword closely.
“It's time to kill God…"
David wondered why Ishaya thinks he can kill him when he laughed at his statement mere moments ago, but he decided to keep quiet.
"And harvest him for the people.”
Throughout his life, Nazar left clues here and there as a game. He wanted to provoke the powerful individuals of this world to find out about his true nature.
Perhaps he will come to regret that soon.
