Chapter 88- Arc 12 - The God Eater - Part 2
Shinjuku district, Tokyo, Japan:
It was late at night and Haru Watanabe was walking from a convenience store to her house, holding a plastic bag in her hand.
She did not her have her usual tired look on her body. It was a side effect of her powers. She doesn’t get as tired as much as she used to do. And can work much faster than before.
(Sigh. What a shitty day…) Haru thought to herself. (Life is hard.)
She might not be physically tired but she is definitely tired mentally.
(Ugh, and I cannot stop hearing about other people’s shitty day. Or their shitty negative emotions.)
As she was walking under the dark of the night, something landed before her.
Seeing the large beast, she gulped in fear.
“” she muttered to herself.
“You speak a tongue unknown to me. However, that does not matter, since you are not God, I will get rid of you immediately.”
The beast spoke in a very loud, deep and scary voice.
“But I will take your energies since it's similar to God's.”
“Right...”
She looked down as yellow energy surrounded her.
The street lamp near her broke to pieces.
“It seems unlike the others, you will fight.”
Haru jumped back.
“!!”
But.
“Doesn’t matter, human. You are weak.”
The beast jumped up and swung a punch.
She placed a forcefield bubble around herself in mid-air, trying to shield herself.
“I will play along for a few seconds until I locate God. I did not get to play with the other decoys. Unlike them, you can fight back.”
As he punched her, the bubble broke and she was thrown towards one of the buildings. Haru also felt her power decreasing as it was being sucked out of her.
Flying through the building, Haru coughed blood.
Before she could recover, the beast punched her once more and flew through another building.
As she fell to the ground, she gasped for breath.
However, Haru looked up immediately and saw the beast coming towards her.
(Just… what is that thing…?)
Painfully, she slowly moved her body and avoided being stomped by the beast.
(Ever since my powers have been increased, I have been holding it back. Not trying to let it all out. Not to recreate what happened last time.)
She sucked in a breath.
(I don’t think it will do anything to this monster. So!)
As she relaxed her shoulders, she looked at the monster in its eyes.
(I need to stop holding it all in.)
The psychic energy she had held within her was released.
Haru felt her body relaxing and becoming lighter.
With a massive burst of psionic energy, Shinjuku district of Tokyo was reduced to ashes.
“!!”
Though it was too late, she noticed something.
(No… No. No! NO! NOOO!)
Haru noticed what she had done.
(I killed… I killed them all?)
She fell to her knees as she vomited.
“Hehehe. My first kill was very hard too, human. But I adapt very quickly.”
(Don’t think. Don’t think. Don’t think. Don’t think.)
The monster picked her up by her head and punched her in the stomach.
“Now tell me, where is God?”
“Wh--”
She coughed blood.
“Who?”
“God.”
Haru did not want to admit that this person might be talking about Nazar.
“I don’t--”
The beast broke her arm.
“Argh!!!”
“Where is God? You should know him. I can feel it.”

Haru shuddered once she saw that thin smile on the beast’s face.
“I want you to tell me,” he whispered in her ear before he threw her away. "But first..."
It was late at night, so she could not see where she was being thrown away, but she hoped it was somewhere far away from the beast. She wanted to have a chance to escape.
“!!”
She noticed that she was hundreds of meters above the ground. If she falls, she is done for.
(Ahh. Who am I kidding? I am going to die today.)
She laughed bitterly as tears flowed down from her eyes.
(What a pathetic life? Wasted on nothing. Just when I thought…)
If she stopped crying, she would have noticed that her body will hit the ground any second now.
(Just when I thought it was taking a turn for the better. Haha, so patheti--ARGH!!)
She could hear her bones breaking as she fell to the ground.
If it was anyone, they would have been dead by now. But the energy within her had changed her. She is physically stronger than a normal person.
Power cannot be held just about anyone, so her physiology was changed slightly to handle that power.
The monster landed next to her and touched her, stealing all of her energy.
“Now then, I sha-- Oh?”
The monster leapt away as he sensed something far away.
(I don’t even see what the point of...)
She coughed blood.
(Life really is worthless, huh?)
She forced her hand to form a fist.
(So, why don’t I… Why am I fighting to survive?)
Like magic and other forms of energy, psychic energy is all around us. It can be found everywhere. So subconsciously, she was collecting the psychic energies from around her.
(No. I won't die. I can't!)
Ignoring the pain, she focused on collecting enough energy to contact Nazar.

Bradley Island, Earth:
Chris, Harry, Ashley and Rebecca - Nazar’s oldest friends - were listening to Nazar talk about the original timeline, it’s destruction and his powers.
They stared at him in disbelief.
Nazar noticed the fear in their heart.
Laura was also with them, but since she knew, she did not react in any way.
“So, you are telling me...”
“You didn’t kill anyone?”*
“Yes. They were undead. Like zombies.”
The four of them did not seem to take it seriously.
“Laura back me up here,” he looked at Laura as he pleaded.
Laura, sitting on his bed, smiled softly as she shrugged.
“I think you should get through this by yourself.”
Nazar sighed.
“Look, they were all dead. Including… What I am saying is, I didn’t kill anyone.”
“But you had the intention to do it, no?” Chris asked with an angry tone.
Nazar looked down.
“...Yes.”
“And what if they were not dead?”
Nazar looked at Harry, who was standing near the door.
“I would have…”
“They would have been dead, right? You were going to kill thousands.”
Nazar had never seen Harry angry. He always has a dumb and carefree look on his face, but he seemed angry right now.
“Okay, yes. I do kill and I have killed before. But...”
Seeing the look in their eyes, Nazar trailed off. They did not believe anything he said.
Nazar narrowed his eyes.
“So, what?”
Everyone sucked in a breath.
“So, what? When you can destroy a planet with just a touch-- No, scratch that. When you can destroy the multiverse without much effort, what difference would the death of a few thousand make?”

Nazar’s form slowly started to change.
His height increased and his muscles got even bigger.
As his white hair covered his red eyes, Nazar let out a soft breath.
“Behold...”
Spreading his arms wide, in the distant galaxies, worlds died.
“You can’t feel it, can you?”
He could feel their fear increasing.
“Worlds die. Stars are reignited.”
“Nazar!” Laura said out loud in a serious tone.
“And this is me holding back over 99% of my power.”
“Holy...”
“Moly!”
Nazar’s form went back to normal.
“I am sorry but this is what it is. This is power is more than what I asked for. No, I didn’t want this. I hate it. But it’s what it is. I wish I could change it. I wish I could get rid of it. But I cannot.”
“H-ho--” Rebecca cleared her throat. “How many people died just now?”
“Nobody. I can control my power to keep everyone safe.”
“I see...”
“I know it’s hard to believe me. And I don’t care if you don’t believe me… But please, don’t fear me.”
(After what you just told them? About worlds dying and all?) Laura sighed as she thought to herself.
“After what you just told us? Really, Nazar...”
Harry chuckled.
“Is that even your real name?”
“Of course, it is. Why would I lie to you?”
“Because you are a killer. A villain.”
“I...”
Nazar thought before continuing.
“I know, I am far from a hero but I wouldn’t lie to you.”
“Then why did you not tell us earlier?” Chris asked angrily. “Did we not mean anything? We were friends for 10 years. Wait, were we even friends? Or was that all make-believe?”
“I was going to tell you. If you had just asked me once.”
“Huh, what?” Harry laughed.
“Remember how all those times I said I did something because of my power?”
Both Chris and Harry nodded.
“But why did you never ask me? I would have proved it to you in an instant.”
“Are you…?”
Chris frowned.
“Ugh, you know what? Forget this shit.”
“Yeah, I am with him. I don’t even know what to believe anymore. Your story matches up somewhat to what we know but...”
Harry took a deep breath before continuing.
“We saw you destroying everything.”
“As I said--”
Nazar noticed something, so he looked at him with a serious look on his face.
“What did you just say? I destroyed the timeline?”
“Yeah…?” Chris added.
“Wait, wait… What was the last thing you saw?”
“Your face and then bright white light.”
Nazar inhaled sharply.
“Then...”
He looked at the others who confirmed it by nodding.
“Laura?”
“No. I don’t see your face.”
(What…? No, that’s not what happened. He was using Emily’s body and face.) Nazar thought in a worried manner. (W-well, even if their faces were seen, it would have been Emily’s. Why his face? It doesn’t make sense--)
Nazar narrowed his eyes as he sensed something.
He turned around and saw something coming towards him.
“Not now, beast!” Nazar said angrily.
He waved his hand and the beast was thrown to the other side of the world.
“Anyway--- Wait, what?!”
Nazar’s eyes widened as he noticed what it was.
“A beast…?”
(“--AR!!!”)
Hearing a telepathic call from Haru Watanabe, Nazar sucked in a breath.
(“What--”)
(“Help. Please!”)
(“...”)
Without saying a word, he vanished into thin air.
“Did he just… I guess teleportation works the same in real life.”
Chris nodded with a complex expression on his face.
“Hey, Laura...”
Laura looked at Ashley with a carefree expression on her face.
“How long have you known about him?”
“A few weeks now.”
“That’s… So, you are okay with him? Even after knowing what he has done?”
Ashley and Rebecca seemed to have regained their memories just yesterday.
Nazar still has no idea how they remember it.
“I saw it from a different angle.”
They looked at him with a confused look on their faces for a short while.
Seeing Laura smile softly, they seemed to have noticed.
“Wait… No way!”
“You are kidding, right?”
“No, I am not. We were together even then. It was pretty complicated relationship… but you know, we were still a thing.”
They all stared at her with a confused look on their faces.
လလလ
Nazar appeared from thin air near Haru, who was lying down on the ground, badly hurt.
He healed her broken bones immediately.
“What happened?”
“That thing… It’s trying to kill me-- Us. Those people you created. I think.”
“...”
“I… It’s because of you!”
“What isn’t?” he said slowly as he sighed.
“He came here looking for you. And then...”
(Not the first time someone comes looking for me.)
“He is… He stole my power. Yo--You are responsible for this. If only you hadn’t given us these powers.”
“...”
Nazar gave them powers because he wanted to see how they could affect the world. He wanted to see how the world will change when humans become superhumans.
“Sorry.”
Nazar looked around and widened his eyes.
“What the…?”
In the battle between Haru and the beast, most of Shinjuku district of Tokyo was reduced to ashes.
(It's not just here but in other locations too... I will fix it all.)
Nazar sucked in a breath.
“Absolute Restoration!”
The buildings started to recreate around them.
It was just like reversing a movie scene. The whole district returned to normal. As if nothing had happened.
“Healing!”
Those who were still alive, felt their bodies getting healed.
Even the dead bodies were being “fixed”.
(Since they died mere seconds ago, their souls still haven’t reached the crossroad yet. I still have time.)
”Resurrection!”
And so, the dead opened their eyes.
(I will make sure they don't remember that part.)
Haru watched in disbelief.
“Did you… You really are God, huh?”
Nazar looked at her and smiled stiffly.
“It’s going to be okay. I promise you.”
“Will it, God?”
The beast landed furiously in front of him, shaking the entire city to its core.
If Nazar was not keeping the city safe, thousands would have been dead now.
“What...”
Nazar stared at this beast.
“What the fuck are you?”
“I am the God Eater. And I am here--”
“Pfft. Seriously?”
Nazar laughed.
“What an ugly creature.”
But on the inside...
(Those are my energies!?!?) Nazar thought in a worried manner but did not show it on his face. (How did he get those? I can feel the traces--- He took it from the Quantum Realm? Oh, this is not good at all.)
He took a deep breath.
(Does he… Energy absorption. I can see the flow of energy. He is sucking the energy out of me even now?! His energy absorption is very good. This is an even bigger problem.)
“I wonder how ugly you pa-- Woah! Calm down, big guy.”
The beast tried to punch Nazar, but the ground beneath them ripped open and formed a wall strong enough to block his punch.
(I need to keep increasing the distance between us.)
Cracking his fingers, Nazar moved.
(I guess attacking with energy would just make this worse. Until I find a way to get rid of him, I need to keep my distance.)
“I need your power, God. She demands it.”
Nazar’s heart skipped a beat, causing him to momentarily freeze.
“Damn it!”
That was enough for the beast to throw a punch.
(I need to keep my distance and focus on attacks that won’t make me lose my energies. So!)
On a hot night of Tokyo summer, an uncontrollable cold wind blew the beast away to an unknown destination.
“I need to end this quickly!”
