Chapter 78 - Arc 10 - Final Planet - Part 9

Saturday, 13th of June - London, UK - Earth:

Standing face to face with Emily in a loud and lively club, Nazar smiled thinly as he said, "I bet you didn't know how to kill her, right?"

Emily Jones - a similar being to Nazar, created by the original destroyer known as the Nameless One - frowned.

"Dude, seriously?"

Nazar laughed.

"Anyway, what the hell do you mean you killed her?"

"You know what, I can't be asked to say the same thing to everyone over and over again…"

He placed his index finger on her forehead.

"Don't reject."

Emily averted her gaze as she "blushed".

"Okay, dear."

Nazar frowned.

"Anyway."

He transferred something straight to her head. He inserted whatever she needed to know, straight into her brain.

"Woah!"

Emily processed through the information quickly.

"You aged 10 years more?!"

Nazar nodded.

"Stop getting older than me… Wait, how old are you these days?"

"Over 500 years old in this body."

"What the FUCK?!"

Inside the loud and lively club, of course, no one heard her shout.

No one paid them any attention. Everyone went on and did their own thing.

Except for one person as she watched Nazar and Emily closely.

It was the girl Emily was making out with earlier.

She didn't interfere but watched from afar. However, she was angry and envious.

"So, you went to another multiverse before me?"

Emily hang her head low in a depressed manner.

"To think you survived crossing the multiversal barrier as if they are nothing… Truly befitting of a God."

Nazar's expression became serious.

"So?"

"So…?"

"What did you come here to tell me?"

"That she isn't unkillable."

"Oh… And?"

"And to thank you."

Now Emily was confused.

"If you hadn't "unlocked" me… This would have gone terribly."

"Yeah, I guess losing a wife and a child would definitely suck…"

"Mm-hmm. But it still sucks to lose a friend."

"Hm, that's true."

"Okay, do whatever you do with that information, it's yours now. I will be going now."

As Nazar was about to leave, Emily held him by his arm.

"Wait!"

"Hm?"

"It's about… Are you not going to restore time?"

"Not now, Emily."

"Then WHEN?!"

"I don't know, okay? I will contact Arosus and let him do it."

"Have you even seen Arosus in years?"

Nazar didn't reply, he just looked down.

He hasn't seen him in many years. He doesn't even know where Arosus is.

"Plus, doesn't he require a large price to be paid?"

"...Yeah…"

"Are you ready to pay the price?"

Nazar shook his head.

"Then do as I said. Bring in the Nameless One. You need him."

"That's the last thing--"

"What is more important to you? Saving everything or your ego?"

"It's not EGO! I DON'T KNOW WHAT HE WILL DO WITH THAT POWER, EMILY! REMEMBER THE LAST TIME?!?"

He wasn't wrong. Emily knew that.

But even then, she gritted her teeth.

"So much for being a God."

"I am not--"

"How long are you going to deny yourself? Your true nature? How long are you going to pretend you are just a human? We are not humans. We have never been."

"..."

"We are weapons. Weapons of mass destruction. So what?!"

She clicked her tongue.

"Whatever. Just fix it before all of us die again," she said in an annoyed tone.

Nazar thought about what she said.

But!

"No."

"...?"

Emily's mind went blank.

She knows that he considers losing the original timeline his greatest mistake but!

"How can you let all of us die again? You will not be able… Look if she changes time one more time, we are all toast."

"It won't happen again."

"Do you know how many times you promised me the exact same thing? Nearly a hundred times. The exact same promise. But you fail every time."

Of course, he didn't have an answer to it.

"You are a God--"

"It wasn't my idea to reach Godhood, was it? It wasn't because I wanted it. I was forced into it. I didn't want to become this. And guess fucking what---"

Hearing a voice in his head, he trailed off as scars appeared on his body.

"Why don't you do it yourself?"

Hearing that emotionless yet cold voice of his, she widened her eyes.

"You said, you can't do it, right? Aren't you the destroyer now? Shouldn't you be able to fix it?"

"...."

She had no idea how to react to this person before her.

"No, let me take a step back… What are you really? What manner of being are you?"

Stunned, she responded to him.

"I am just like I was before… The same old stupid bitch always being in the second place. Following you… I fucking hate this feeling!"

"I don't care about your useless feelings, second hand."

Nazar moved closer to her.

"I really don't… But I need to know why you remember the old timelines? What are your abilities? How did you get them back after I removed them?"

Emily took a deep breath.

"I don't have to tell you anything. Who the hell are you?"

"I see…"

"Don't tempt me, you empty shell."

Emily placed her hand on his face.

Nazar #2 suddenly found it hard to breathe.

"I am in the same position now as our creator. Don't fucking look down on me."

"Hrk!?!"

"How many personalities do you... No, how many personalities does he have again? Hundreds. Every single change in his life led to a new personality being created."

She smiled thinly.

"Let me demonstrate my power to you, empty shell."

She flicked forehead his forehead with her index finger.

And so, he fell to the ground, lifeless.

Emily made sure that no one noticed that, so she had placed an illusion around them.

"Good night, dear," she said as she waved her hand and Nazar vanished into thin air.

Once Nazar was removed from here, she made the illusion version of him leave this place too.

No one noticed a thing.

Emily put on a smile as she went towards the other girl.

"Sup, princess?" Emily said as she bit her lip in a seductive manner.

"Who was that?"

"Oh, just a friend. An annoying friend."

"I see…"

"Hey, wanna go to the bathroom?"

Emily winked at her but the other girl didn't seem to pick up what she really meant, so she replied with, "Nah, I went a few minutes ago."

Emily frowned at her answer.

Holding her hand, Emily said, "Let's go again. For a different reason."

"Uhh…?"

Emily brought her face closer to her and whispered.

"Or do you want to go to my bedroom?"

She blushed and averted her gaze.

"I guess the bathroom would do for now," she said slowly but Emily heard it.

She took her hand and walked away from the crowd.

"You could have saved me… Why did you let me die?"

Nazar was standing before Rina Greenphord, on top of a green hill.

"Why did you not save me? Do I not mean anything to you? Am I that worthless?"

This isn't real. Nazar thought.

"I loved you. And this is how you pay back my love and affection?"

Rina's eyes welled up.

"For years, when you were away from home, I was your friend. I left my feelings behind and became your friend. Because of me, you stopped killing yourself over and over and over again. Because of me, you didn't waste ten years sitting in one place alone."

The somewhat cold breeze under a hot and sunny blue sky, a large tree near a fantasy-like town, everything was the same as the destroyed planet.

"You think you are so important? You think it's okay to topple those who care about?"

Nazar noticed a small yet big detail about this world.

It was getting darker when the sun was still up.

"Let me tell you something."

The world was changing in colour. It was getting darker. No, not like the dark of the night. But different.

"Do you really think those close to you actually care about you?"

Nazar tried to ignore her but he reacted to her question by opening his eyes widely.

"They only care about you because you are powerful. Your lover… I am sure she would have never looked at you twice if it wasn't for your power. They all want to keep you close by so they can use you."

"Th--"

"You are just a tool for them."

The world lost its colours. Everything was grey.

Within the grey-scale world, only Rina's beautiful purple glittering eyes can be seen in colour and Nazar's red eyes.

"But me… I truly loved you. I loved you for who you were. Not your power. And yet… And yet…"

Her voice shook.

"You left me to die," she spat out as her body trembled. "How could you do this to me?"

The grey-scale world was becoming ever darker. The beautiful blue sky was now pitch black. The yellow sun was being eaten by this darkness.

"Did I not matter to you? Did those years we spend her didn't mean anything? If not as a lover… Did our friendship not mean anything to you?"

The darkness covered everything on this planet except for Rina and Nazar.

"Why did you not save me? Why were you not there for me when I needed you?!"

As the darkness covered everything, Rina smiled widely.

"You are so pathetic. You poor pathetic creature. I could have been the one true friend you could have had… I could have cared for you and not your power…"

Rina spread her arms wide.

"Yet you let me die."

As the world beneath them vanished, Rina brought her face closer to Nazar's.

"No one cares about you. No one likes you. Your power is the only thing people care about and like about you."

Behind her, someone else appeared.

The Queen with her mask on.

"You worthless unhappy poor pathetic creature," Rina said in a sweet and gentle voice.

She swung her sword.

She stabbed Rina in the back and she slowly started to vanish.

The Queen then stabbed Nazar in the chest.

Feeling the pain, he held his chest.

(It hurts… This pain is real!) He thought to himself. (It hurts so much.)

The Queen didn't say anything.

She stabbed him again.

(I want to stop holding the blood in… For some reasons… I want to let go.)

Nazar was confused.

(What do I want to let go?)

There was this feeling of letting go. But he didn't know what he wanted to let go.

(Ah… whatever it is… I can't hold it back anymore… I want to let it go.)

The Queen vanished as another face appeared.

It was Emily.

"Time to be reborn."

Hearing her thin voice, Nazar closed his eyes slightly as he relaxed his body.

He let it all go.

But then suddenly, breathing heavily, he opened his eyes.

Emily was sitting (?) near him.

"Welcome back, dear."

Nazar touched his chest and found no wound there.

"What…?"

Nazar looked around and found out that he was in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Floating in the darkness of space.

"You just blew up a universe. Oh man, seeing the death of the universe up close is truly exhilarating."

Nazar's heart skipped a beat.

"...What?"

"Don't worry, it was empty. No life forms at all. Just planets and suns and shit like that."

Nazar frantically checked the universe. There was nothing left. Not even a single star.

"I contained some of your powers… But I have my limits too, you know? A bit of energy leaked and… Well, you know the rest."

"The voices… They are gone. What--"

"Every change and guilt and fear of yours become another personality in your head. So, I killed all of them."

Nazar looked at her in disbelief.

"Only the emotionless cunt somehow slipped through."

She sighed in a defeated manner.

"Wait, wait, wait…"

Nazar was still confused.

"I killed those personalities of yours. And made sure you don't develop any more subconsciously."

Nazar had so many questions on his mind.

But the one question he wanted to ask was, "And what does all of that have to do with this universe?"

"I had to change something about you completely. So…"

She smiled thinly.

"You're welcome," she said as she winked.

Nazar was not sure what just happened here. But he didn't care. He had an unthinkable headache.

"Just go home and rest."

Nazar massaged his head and tried not to think about what happened.

"I have to rebuild all those personalities… Sigh."

"Shouldn't take long, right?"

Nazar shook his head.

"Anyway, how long was I out for?"

"Hmmm," she tapped her chin with her index finger as she thought. "About 8 hours."

Nazar frowned.

"Remember, I have my limitations."

He sighed.

"Was it really necessary to get rid of them?"

She averted her gaze and said, "Yep!"

"Quick question before you leave."

"Hm?"

"What if someone saw you knocking me out or teleporting out of there?"

"Why would anyone find out?" She said blankly. "I placed an illusion that showed you leaving the place and created a clone that spent a nice night with that girl."

"Oh."

"Okay, I need to go by now. I gotta see if I can spend some time with that girl before she leaves. The clone had her time with her, so now it's my turn."

Nazar stared at her blankly.

"Look, a girl has her need."

"I am not saying you don't… But you seem somewhat addicted to it."

"Is that so?"

"...Maybe."

"Well, whatever. As long as I have my fun… Ah!"

She looked at him with a seductive smile.

"Could it be you want to sleep with me?"

"No," he replied immediately with a blank look on his face.

"Oh, I guess you are still not over your break up."

"What break up?"

Her eyes widened as her smile wavered.

"I set a path for you… You didn't take it, huh? Odd."

"I have to thank Solace for that."

Emily signed.

"I guess I need to seduce her one day to do my bidding."

And just like that, she vanished into thin air.

"That won't happen, Emily."

Looking around the empty universe, Nazar sighed once more.

"I really need to stop sighing so much."

He teleported out and went home.
