Chapter 67 - Reawakening - Part 8

Tuesday, 8th of June - London, UK - Earth:

Above London, Nazar’s powerful punch was blocked by the woman known as Alice Brown.

Alice Brown a special being who can kill any demon and angel - besides the likes of Lucifer and Michael. However, she was powerless against anyone else.

At least that’s how it should be.

But she just blocked an extremely powerful punch from Nazar.

(Her energy signature… It’s so different.) Nazar thought in an alarmed manner. (Her powers have increased significantly.)

Both Alice and Nazar were frozen momentarily.

“Who...”

Nazar jumped back.

“Who are you?”

“Hi, Nazar,” she said as she waved her hand.

Seeing the warm and gentle smile on his face, Nazar clenched his fist.

“It’s me, Alice.”

“I said, who are you? A shapeshifter?”

“What?”

Alice was confused as to why Nazar was reacting like that. He should remember her, right?

“You don’t remember me?”

A sad expression appeared on her face as she lowered her hand.

“I guess only I remember...” She said as she slowly lowered her head.

She came to Nazar for help, but right now, in a depressed manner, she thinks it was useless.

“I was hoping--”

“No, I do remember.”

Hearing that, she looked up at Nazar with a surprised expression.

“I remember everything. But!”

Nazar held his index finger of his left hand towards her.

“Who are you?”

Alice was not sure what Nazar was talking about. He just said that he remembered her. She was wondering what was going on right now.

“Your energy signature is different. Your power levels are different.”

(But her brain waves and DNA matches the Alice I once knew...)

Nazar shook his head.

(No. I have come across a lot of shapeshifters who can transform themselves into others completely.)

“Ah!”

Alice looked down at her own body.

“I don’t know, honestly. I woke up the other day and I have all my memories back. And my powers have increased significantly. So...”

The story was believable. Nazar has come across a few people who suddenly got a power upgrade in the past.

Just a few weeks ago, there was a case of Haru Watanabe who suddenly got a power boost.

“That’s why I am here. I want to know what happened to me. Why do I suddenly remember?”

Nazar loosened his fist and sighed.

“Someone is messing around with people close to me. Making them remember. Remember the old timeline.”

“So that white light…?”

Nazar nodded angrily as he remembered one of his greatest failures.

“Yes, time was destroyed. It started at the end of time and was going to stop at the beginning. But I somehow managed to stop it in 2000 by killing the Nameless One.”

“Ahn...”

She looked down once more with a complex expression on her face.

“Sorry.”

“You don’t really get to say sorry. And frankly, I don’t care anymore.”

He clenched his fist once more.

“I would really like it if you just go back to your own hell and never return.”

Alice’s cheek twitched repeatedly.

“Actually, nevermind.”

Nazar smiled thinly.

“You can’t.”

“That’s why I came here in the first place,” she said as she plastered a stiff smile on her face. “What happened to Hell? Why can’t I go to Hell?”

“There have been changes in Hell. The Demon King. He has placed a barrier around Hell that not even the angels or the Gods can penetrate.”

Alice frowned.

“But let’s leave that aside. Tell me… Why are you giving off such a dangerous aura, half breed?”

Alice looked at him in a confused manner.

But then she suddenly looked at her Curtana-like energy sword which had turned red.

She could not recall the original colour of it.

“Huh?”

Suddenly, a dark red aura appeared around her.

As her red eyes glowed up, Nazar got ready.

“Well, you are not the real Alice, are you? She never had--”

Suddenly, the half breed moved stabbed Nazar in the back with her sword.

(That speed...)

Surprised, Nazar increased the distance between them.

“My soul is more damaged than anyone. I don’t think you can hurt me that way.”

But Alice did not stop there.

She moved.

Her wings were gone now but she was flying.

(See? It screams anything but Alice.)

Nazar flew up towards the dark of space.

(Alice won’t be able to go to space or be able to breathe without a specialised spell which takes a few minutes to activate.)

Even though he can see that her speed and magic has increased significantly but it should still take a short while for the spell to activate.

And once it does, he can intercept it.

But!

She is not using any form of magic right now.

Alice was following Nazar very closely as they flew across the solar system and finally stopped on one of the moons of Jupiter.

Nazar wanted to some time to calculate her powers to try and understand them.

(If she increases her speed even a little, I will need to take my energy form.)

An idea came to his mind.

Alice, looking like a lifeless doll, was standing not far away from him.

He shot an eye beam towards her.

It did not damage - as Nazar had intended.

(She absorbed the energy?! She did not have that before!)

To figure out what other powers she had, Nazar opened the surface of the moon and it swallowed her.

“Now then--What the…? Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.”

The moon blew up to small pieces.

And Alice stood in the middle of it like a doll.

“Give me a...”

Nazar swung his arm.

“BREAK!”

The debris of the dead moon spiralled around her, trying to confine her in.

Nazar sucked in a breath.

“Okay, what do I do--Hrn?”

He found a sword cut through his neck.

Nazar managed to phase out of this dimensional space before his head was cut off clean.

“Oh my, oh my...”

Phasing back into this dimension, he smiled.

“I wonder who you really are.”

Alice shot herself towards him.

Nazar waved his hand and the space between them increased.

However, she slashed her sword - which was made from dark red energy - and the space between them shrank.

Nazar frowned.

"How did I forget that you operate at the 5th Dimensional level?"

Even though the space between them shrank, she was nowhere near Nazar.

He was increasing the space between them and she was shrinking it.

Her sword cut the distance between them as if it was made from butter.

Nazar's control over the universe is much greater so she was on the losing end.

That's how it should be, at least.

But right now, she was coming closer to him.

So, he sighed and stopped fighting.

In the next instant, he saw himself being thrown towards Earth. He was punched multiple times and was now above Earth.

(To be that fast… No, shut up!)

Nazar closed his eyes.

(Everything is numbers. Everything except magic and emotions. Yes, she is using magic but I need to find the equivalent numbers of her attacks. I can use magic negation but with her speed, I don't think I can take it out of her in time. So, I need to rely mostly on vector manipulation and shields at the moment.)

His mind was carrying out trillions and trillions of calculations in 0.01 seconds.

(To take her down… I need to find her magic source and shut it down. Since she uses a combination of demonic and angelic magic, it will be hard to find the proper source unless I cut off the connections between Heaven, Hell and our universe completely. Which of course, has a lot of drawbacks. But she isn't exactly using magic here either.)

Alice was coming closer to him.

She clenched her fist.

(Now, how else do I get rid of her power?)

He thought about it and thought about it.

Nazar came up with 1 million scenarios in an instant about how he can take Alice down. But with her current power levels, most wouldn't work.

(I need a better understanding of the upgrade… Ah!)

Alice swung her fist.

She was standing right in front of her.

(The speed which she moves at… Her grip strength that can easily blow up a planet… Her magic that is comparable to high ranking angels and demons… Is it here true form?)

In the original timeline, for Alice to unleash her true power, she needed a spell. Shouting that spell allowed her to weaken her true power.

(I never saw her using her true power so that's why I don't really understand it. And since it wasn't sealed, she can just use it right now. So, I just need to seal that power and maybe….)

Nazar shook his head.

She is different now. Her powers are different. So, the same method will not work. He also doesn't know how her powers were sealed originally.

(Hmmmmm… What should I do? What should I do? What should I do?)

Her fist was now inches away from Nazar.

As he was right above Earth, that punch will throw him towards the planet and can potentially destroy it.

(Ah!!)

As soon as he opened his eyes, a fist came crashing into his face.

(Perfect!)

Being thrown towards Earth at an unimaginable speed, he smiled.

Alice did not give him another chance. She punched him again in the chest.

He was being thrown at an even faster rate.

Just a few hundred meters away from the ground...

(Now…)

Suddenly, he stopped moving.

Above the city - which Nazar couldn't be asked to identify, he smiled as he looked up at the sky above him.

The few clouds had vanished completely.

Alice was coming very fast towards him.

At this speed, she could cover the distance between Earth and the sun in less than a second.

But Nazar didn't care. He just smiled.

He did not have her numbers. But he had something else. The numbers of the planet, the universe and the reality.

Alice swung her fist once more.

The fist which was coming towards him at a speed faster than light but something happened.

She slowed down.

No, she was being forced to slow down.

(For a split second...)

Changing the Earth’s gravity from 9.81 m/s2 to -500 m/s2, increasing the speed of wind to Mach 5 across the whole planet, and reversing the magnetic fields of the planet, he finally found a way to slow her down momentarily.

Of course, that was not enough. It wouldn’t take her long to figure it out and increase her speed. As long as she understands the gravity and wind, she should have no problem adjusting her speed and moving fast again.

But a split second is all he needed.

Nazar narrowed his eyes and sucked in a breath.

Cutting the space between him and Alice, he moved.

The universe between him and Alice removed as if it was a brick.

The reality itself ripped open and his fist came crashing into her face, rendering her unconscious.

All of this in a split second.

He waved his hand and everything returned to normal with no harm to the planet of the universe.

He let out a breath of relief.

Flying down, he caught Alice who was falling towards ground unconsciously.

(I have never done anything reckless like this on Earth before.)

Standing on top of a roof, he waited for her to gain consciousness.

(If I had destroyed her magic… There is a little difference now. She doesn’t just have magic There is more now.)

He felt fear, not for himself but for the angels and the demons.

She is the perfect weapon against them. She can kill any angel and demon with ease. She can lay waste to Heaven and Hell with ease. This is who she is. An almost perfect weapon when all things considered.

(Luckily the damage to the universe or reality was zero. That was really reckless.)

He bit his lip in anger.

(I could have gotten rid of her differently and it might have taken a little time. But for some reasons...)

He noticed how fast his heart was beating and a thin smile appeared on his face.

(That was a little exciting!)

He hated himself for that. He was angry. But deep down, he felt a little excitement.

(I need to--)

Hearing a groan from behind him, he looked back and saw Alice who was slowly getting up in a confused manner.

“Wh-what happened?”

“Who are you really?”

Tilting her head in a confused manner, she said, “I am Alice.”

Nazar clicked his tongue and walked closer towards her.

With a serious face, he said, “I wish I could believe that. But you aren’t her. Your powers and energies are very different.”

“I know--”

“You either tell me who you are or I will find that information by myself.”

Alice looked up at Nazar who was standing above him.

“Always the high and mighty, huh?”

Nazar ignored her.

“Pretending to be the only one who matters?”

She chuckled.

“Fine. Go inside my head and find it out by yourself.”

“Oh, I will,” he smiled thinly as his eyes lit up with yellow energy. “But you will die either way. I am not going--Hrk!”

Nazar saw something which he was not expecting.

This is Alice Brown. This is her. This is the first person who showed him kindness - even if it was acting. This is was…

“Wh-what...?”

In disbelief, he took a step back weakly.

“Who…? That girl...”

“Ah. My daughter.”

His eyes widened.

“Why are you surprised---? Ah.”

Alice smiled.

“She is not my biological daughter. I cannot conceive a child. So, I adopted her. But I treat her like my own. I was the mother to her which I couldn’t be to you.”

“N-no, I don’t care… Her name… Is...”

“Rebecca Kyle. My adoptive daughter.”

Nazar, struggling to breathe, he looked up to the sky with complicated feelings.

“Is this… Is this what Emily was talking about?”

“Emily?” Alice looked at him with a confused look.

“Is this… Hehehehehehe...”

A laugh full of despair and agony and anger came out of his mouth.

“N-Nazar…?”

“Ah, it makes sense now. I walked on the path that was already set. Why did I become friends with them? I always wondered...”

Alice stood up.

“But it was because this path was chosen for me… All leading to these two points. Hehehe...”

In his mind, he had created another reality.

In this reality, he took out himself from that position. He did not become friends with Chris and Harry. So, he never went to BUST. He never met Rebecca or Ashley. He never met Laura in that reality, either. And when he comes across Alice, he kills her.

This isn’t a reality he wants to create. It is a reality created from data, taking into account many different alternative or dead timelines and the multiverse.

“Nazar? Are you…?”

Alice gulped as Nazar’s energies started to leak out.

The roof of the tall building was breaking apart.

“First to have Laura meet me and now to save you… It all makes sense. I was walking on a path set to me by someone else. If only...”

He screamed at the sky and a massive black hole appeared.

And suddenly, Alice froze in her place.

The black space was replaced by white space.

The white stars were replaced by black stars.

The blue sky above them became yellow like the sand and the ground beneath became blue like the sky.

The black hole was still there. However, it wasn't sucking in anything.

“I am not an NPC. I will fucking make my own path. I will not walk the path of the others.”

She looked around her and everything was different.

Looking back up at the sky, she could see planets colliding with one another, the suns exploding and more.

Alice was not sure what to believe anymore. Certainly, she couldn’t believe her eyes.

“This is my fucking universe!!!”

The building beneath them was now made from water.

The moon was made from trees.

The whole world suddenly caught fire.

“I created it!”

But all of a sudden, everything returned to normal. He came to his senses.

Nazar looked down and clenched his fist.

“What…?”

He could not believe what he just said.

He has mentioned to a few people that he is the creator but he never admitted it to himself.

For the first time in a long time, he said what he never even wanted to think about. He always got rid of similar thoughts. But for the first time, he admitted it. He admitted that he is the creator of this universe.

For a split second, he subconsciously took control of it and it was nothing but chaos.

He might be the great creator but he is a destroyer first.

“What happened…?”

Alice swallowed her saliva in horror.

Observing her surroundings with her powers, she noticed that no one remembers anything unusual happening.

“N-nothing. You suddenly… You were going to open a gateway to Hell...”

To know more about what happened in Hell, she wants to go there.

But there is more.

She wants to get away from the monster before her.

“Ah. Those doors are closed, Alice.”

Alice watched in horror as Nazar talked as if nothing happened. As if they weren't fighting mere seconds ago.

“But I can open it.”

He clenched his fist.

Alice took another step back.

Punching the air, breaking the sound of glass can be heard.

“What…?”

That was the sound of dimensional barriers breaking down. That was the sound of the force field the Demon King had placed around Hell.

The angels and the Gods tried to take it down, but they failed.

However, he did it with a single punch.

“I-I will be going now.”

A dark red portal appeared around her and swallowed her.
