Chapter 63 - Reawakening - Part 4

Sunday 6th of June - Plymouth, UK - Earth:

Appearing in front of his parent’s home, Nazar took a deep breath.

“I am so glad Solace removed that poison from within me. Without powers...”

Nazar noticed what he said, so he sighed.

“It’s convenient once in a while, okay?”

Not too long ago, Nazar received a message from Emma who asked him to come home for dinner.

(Emily vanished from my view again...) Nazar thought to himself. (What manner of being is she truly?)

Emily Jones. His best friend in the original timeline, a being made by the Nameless One - same as Nazar, yet he does not know much about her.

He let out a small sigh and stopped thinking about her.

He entered the house.

In front of him was a large hallway and on one side of it was a stairway to the first floor.

Looking at the stairs, he found a dark-skinned tall and thin woman with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was Angela McKee Hall, Aeron’s wife. She and Aeron had been together for many years and it was only last year when they got married.

Angela was going upstairs but once Nazar opened the door, she turned around and started coming down.

“Oh, it’s Mr Anti-Social.”

“Oh, hi, Angela, my archenemy.”

She came down.

Standing before Nazar, she seemed to be as tall as Nazar.

“How have you been?” She said as she hugged him.

“Uh…?”

“I know I always picked on you when you were young but when I heard about your childhood… So, I am sorry.”

“Nah, it’s cool. It’s not like it ever bothered me.”

“Huh, really?”

“I mean, come on… It’s me. I don’t get bothered by a few mean words. Well, technically they were not mean at all. They were just bad jokes. Oh, you were just talking to an illusion most of the time. So...”

She stopped hugging him.

“I take back my apology.”

"Either way, your jokes were terrible."

“Let's leave that aside. I heard you have powers.”

Nazar was not surprised.

He knew that they would tell her. And deep down, he does feel a little bad for leaving her out of the conversation that day, considering how she is also an important member of the family.

“I am disappointed you left me out of the discussion,” she said as she smiled thinly.

“Honest?”

“Hm?”

“My memory was messed up. I did not remember you until the other day.”

“Now that’s a terrible excuse.”

Nazar’s shoulders drooped.

“Yeah, you are right.”

Angela let out a laugh.

“I am sorry.”

“Haha, it’s cool. It would have been awkward for me to be there. I mean, seeing you being all serious? I would have laughed my ass off.”

“That’s true.”

Angela started to walk towards the end of the hallway. At the end of the hallway was a door.

It was a long hallway with two doors on either side. To the left, the first door was for the living room. To the right, one door was for the kitchen and the other for the dining room - which were both inter-connected.

The other door to the right was a small library. It had many books relating to modern science.

“Tell me about your powers. What powers do you have?”

“Uhhhh. Let’s see...”

Nazar followed her.

“Flight, speed, strength, telepathy, telekinesis, hypnotism, teleportation, invisibility, light manipulation, darkness manipulation, energy manipulation, matter manipulation, portals, dark matter manipulation, physiology manipulation, void manipulation, power manipulation, reality warping, portals, dimensional travel, dimensional manipulation, nigh-omnipresence, personality manipulation...”

Angela stopped moving and looked back at Nazar with a blank look.

“Technopathy, resurrection, immortality, time manipulation, pyrokinesis, aquakinesis, space manipulation, creation, detection, power negation, anti-matter manipulation, weather manipulation, electricity manipulation, constructs, healing, intangibility, invisibility, replication, clones, cosmic awareness, disease immunity, earth mani---”

“Wait! Shut up!”

Nazar laughed.

He had noticed the annoyed look on her face but he continued to list out his powers.

“How many powers do you have?”

“I don’t know… At one point, I had omnipotence. So… a lot?”

“And you were gonna list out all of them?”

Nazar nodded.

She frowned.

“So, what can you not do?”

She started to walk again.

“Can’t think of anything, honestly. I mean, putting my mind to it, I can have any ability or power.”

“Well, that’s disappointing.”

“It is...”

Entering the living room, he found it empty.

Nazar’s eyes lit up with blue energy.

“Huh, they are in the lab.”

“Yes. I was going there but you entered the living room, dumbass.”

“Oh...”

“You are really dumb sometimes, you know that, right?”

Nazar let out a sigh.

“How was I--”

“You just mentioned like a gazillion powers. Doesn’t some of them allow you to know about this stuff?”

“Yeah, it does...”

Nazar let out a heavy sigh.

Walking in the hallway towards the back of the house, they continued to talk.

“I still can’t believe you have powers.”

“I always had powers.”

“Hm, interesting,” she said as she nodded her head. “Mm-hmm. So, you can do anything, huh?”

“Well, kind of.”

“Not sure if that’s the coolest thing ever or the worst fanfiction ever.”

“I would love it for this to be a fanfiction so I can be done with all of this soon. And probably just--”

“Oh, hi, Nazar.”

As they were walking down the long hallway, the door of the kitchen opened and Emma got out with a popsicle.

“Want ice cream?”

Nazar looked at her blankly.

“What? It’s good.”

“I mean, sure it's good… But how many have you had today?”

Emma averted her gaze.

“Five,” she said slowly. “Or six.”

Nazar chuckled.

“Anyway, why did you text me all of a sudden. I am a busy man, you know?”

Emma looked at him blankly for a few seconds.

"You? Busy? Ha! I have to laugh."

Nazar just shook his head.

Walking out of the back door of the house, he found a large empty area with a lot of flowers and a few small trees.

There was also a pool behind the house.

Looking at the empty pool, he waved his hand and water appeared in it.

“Okay, now that’s cool,” Angela said, looking amazed.

“Why even have a pool if you are not going to use it?”

“The beach is very close by,” Emma said.

“Huh, true.”

Nazar looked to his left and saw another facility. It was an advanced scientific laboratory. It was called Aeron Labs. Originally, it was run by his parents but his older brother took over the lab a few years ago and his parents help out around.

Nazar looked at the laboratory with rather fearful eyes.

In the original timeline, he was born inside a lab and lived there for five years. He was constantly experimented on and tortured by his own parents.

So, seeing them again after so long, he gulped.

“That’s why they called you here, Nazar.”

He looked back at her.

“You said you will be transparent with us, so they want you to know that you can trust them. They don't want you to fear them... And it starts here. Spending an afternoon with us. Or dinner. It's just these small things that help make family… well, a family. And brings us closer.”

“You were born in a lab, right?”

Nazar nodded.

“I see why you would be scared. Well, it’s not like they wanted to meet you in the lab. It’s just that they are running a little late.”

“Ah.”

“Sorry, I didn’t know about all of that,” Angela said nervously.

“Oh no, it’s cool.”

To keep his mind off this, he looked up at the sky.

“Huh, it’s a little cloudy.”

Waving his hand, the clouds were replaced by a beautiful blue sky.

“Show off,” Emma said as she rolled her eyes.

Nazar looked back and shrugged.

“And what did you achieve by that?”

“I know it's pretty hot since its summer, but a thunderstorm was coming soon. So, just a little change here and avoided it.”

Both Angela and Emma looked at him blankly.

"Stop showing off... Ah.”

Angela remembered something.

“Earlier you said you have nigh omnipresence, right?”

Nazar nodded with a confused expression.

“So, is it true that you are in all places at once?”

“Depends on the person.”

“Hm?”

“You can see everything depending on your limit. So, let’s just say my limit was just one planet. I can see everything there. Well, that’s how mine works since I modified it. But traditional nigh omnipresence allows the person to be in every place at once. So, unlike them, I can only see instead of being there.”

“Why is yours different?”

“Because… Fuck normal,” he said as he laughed.

“You are weird,” she said as she raised an eyebrow.

"I know that."

“Anyway, Nazar...”

“Yes, Emma?”

“You know how it’s summer, right?”

“Yes…?”

“Do you know a small uninhabited island with dinosaurs in it?”

Nazar blinked a few times in a confused manner.

“...What?”

“Well, I mean, the earth is not as we know it, right?”

“I guess you could say that.”

“So, there should be a small or a hidden uninhabited island with dinosaurs in it.”

“I don’t--”

“But if it doesn’t exist in this world, maybe another?”

Nazar frowned.

“Or you could have just asked me to take you to another planet.”

With a wide excited smile, Emma said, “So, will you?”

“Sure. Where do you want to go?”

“Wait, is that easy?”

He looked at Angela and nodded.

“I could take you guys to my empire and show you around today.”

She smiled with excitement.

“I don’t mind taking you guys to any other planet. Well, as long as it's for fun and not for your research or something like that.”

That excited smile, however, soon vanished and was replaced by a curious look.

“Huh? Why is that?”

“I promised someone. I will not help humans - any human - to advance. I want them to do it themselves without my help. That’s why I never helped you guys with any of your research. See? If I had helped you, it would have been done by now but since you did it under your own power… Aren’t the results more satisfactory?”

“I guess that makes sense...”

"Though, I did give a few people superpowers and jumpstarted the next step of human evolution - mutation-- But! I am not going to help them anymore."

“So, you have been going to other worlds freely? Just like that? Seems fun.”

“It does in a way. Well, to be honest...”

Nazar averted his gaze with a nervous look on his face.

“I was never at home.”

“Yeah, we know.”

“Yeah, we know.”

Seeing them fold their arms in front of their chests and glare at him, he smiled stiffly.

“Uh… I can explain.”

“Oh, go on.”

“Wait, how do you know?”

“Emily told me.”

Nazar’s eyes widened.

“Emma, did you just say…?”

Emma nodded, “Yes.”

He facepalmed.

“Did she do anything?”

Emma shook her head.

“You have still not met her?”

“Due to some terrible events in my life, I had the displeasure of meeting her today. And she filled my mind with horrendous information about a religion she is part of. I don’t believe in God. So...”

“Ah, that--”

Nazar remembered something, so he cut off Emma.

“You remembered the old timeline, right?”

Confused, Emma nodded.

“And you too, Angela?”

She nodded too in a confused manner.

“What happened in 2020 in those memories?”

Emma and Angela exchanged glances.

“We died in 2019.”

“Same here.”

Nazar bit his finger as he thought.

“For some reason, they don’t remember other timelines? That's an interesting factor to take into account.”

Nazar gasped.

"Could it be that they did not want me to know about the other timelines and their failures? Now that I have more memories, I need to start putting two and two together myself."

Seeing Nazar mutter to himself, Emma sighed.

“Anyway, let’s put that aside. Tell us why you were never home.”

“Long story short, I was looking for a being who… It’s a complicated story, honestly. Mind if I tell you guys another time?”

“Sure...”

“So, when were you at home?”

“Just once in a while. Solace used to fill in for me.”

“It physically pains me to hear that, Nazar.”

“Sorry, Emma.”

“And I am more disappointed that I was-- Wait, who is Solace?”

“His AI.”

Angela looked at Nazar in surprise.

“She is a sophisticated piece of technology with proper understand of human emotions and displaying it too, when necessary.”

“Why did you create that?!”

Angela was both excited and horrified.

She thought about how great it is but also thought about how this can backfire.

“Becau--”

“He needed a girlfriend.”

“Wait, what?”

Emma smiled thinly.

“She told me about all the kinky stuff you did. My man, that some freaky shit.”

“SOLACE!!”

Suddenly, next to Nazar, a busty and muscular and extremely beautiful woman-- AI with the features of a woman -- with red hair and blue eyes, who was wearing a skin-tight black armour, which clearly showed the outline of her entire body, appeared out of thin air

“Sub, babe. Why did you call me?”

Seeing Solace talk with a smug face, Nazar placed his hands on Solace’s shoulders and started shaking her.

“What did you tell her?!”

"I don't have my memories--- Ah!"*

Seeing the light in Solace's eyes and sensing psionic energy, Nazar thought, (Oh shit--)

“Oh, I don’t know,” Solace smiled thinly as she put her index finger on her lip. “Just the usual stuff. Like you fondling my breeeeaaaaaasssssssssssssssssss--”

Tossing her with one arm, she found herself on Mars.

Back on Earth, Nazar sighed heavily.

"She making that up!!!"

"Oh, I know."

Nazar frowned.

“But man… You really should dress her… It (?) properly.”

“Nah, she is perfect the way she is.”

“Whatever.”

“Anyway, let’s go to Chias for dinner. I already told them that you guys are coming.”

“Wait, what?”

“Seriously.”

Nazar nodded.

“Yay!”

“Oh, and call Aria too. It's been a while.”

“Sure.”
