Chapter 37 - Rise of the Demon King - Part 7
Tuesday, 18th of May - Chias, Chochica Empire - Andromeda Galaxy:
Nazar was lying down on his bed and was thinking about something.
Solace was dismantled and left inside one of his labs.
Before he starts rebuilding, he wanted to gather some data and the materials he needs.
So, currently, he is thinking about the equipment he needs and how he will rebuild her differently.
He has a rough idea of how to rebuild her but he wants to place countermeasures against being used again by his mysterious enemies.
As he was thinking, he heard the creaking sound of the door being opened.
Looking at the entrance, he noticed Ella.
“Your majesty.”
“What is it?”
“As you know...”
Nazar sighed deeply.
“Ugh, is it that time of the year again?”
She nodded with a stiff smile.
“Your birthday is in a few days. On the [22nd of May], there will be a celebration...”
“Whether I like it or not?”
“Um… Er...”
“Well… I guess I signed up for all of this. So...”
“Officials from other planets and empires will be coming too. It is a chance to better the relationship between you and them.”
Nazar sat.
He looked troubled and Ella noticed that.
“Hey, Ella...”
“Yes, your majesty?”
“What do you think of me as a king?”
She was caught off-guard and was not sure how she should answer.
“Forget that… If I were to die, what do you think will happen to the empire?”
Feeling a cold sweat pour down on her face, she plastered a stiff smile on her face.
“Uh...”
“Haha. I am just kidding. Can you get me Lian, please?”
“O-okay.”
“Actually, wait. Nevermind.”
Nazar got off of the bed.
“You came here to fix the bedroom, right?”
She nodded.
“I will leave you to it then.”
Nazar walked out of the door.
Walking in the hallway of the castle, he saw many maids working on decorating the castle.
They were putting some decorations on the wall and placing small tables in the massive hallways for food and drinks.
Seeing that, Nazar just sighed.
Walking for a few minutes, he walked down the stairs, which were being decorated too.
Reaching the main hall, Nazar noticed that there were a lot of tables placed in it.
“Oh boy...”
As he was walking, he saw Lian. Unlike the others, she was not helping with the decorations. Instead, she was eating something that looked like cake.
“Yo, is Baros around?”
She looked at Nazar and shook her head.
“No idea...”
“I see. I did tell him to take a few days, so let’s hope he does what is asked of him.”
“What about you? What are you going to do?”
“Uh… I am going to go somewhere. Things are… Shit.”
“Hm?”
“Without Baros and Solace, I have to take care of this stuff, don’t I?”
Dumbfounded, Lian took another bite of the cake.
Seeing her confused expression, Nazar sighed.
“Solace will be gone for a few days. I am rebuilding her.”
“Mm?”
“I dismantled her.”
Her confused expression was changed by an alarmed expression.
Nazar would not do something like this unless its something very serious.
“Don’t worry. Everything is okay.”

“Oh.”
“It will take an hour if I put my mind to it but I am going to take it slowly.”
“Then do it.”
“But I need the stuff. I am starting from scratch with her. So, I need different things which I might get my hands on either today or tomorrow.”
“I see.”
“I will be gone for an hour or two. I need to do some stuff, so if something happens, let me know.”
“Yeah, sure.”
“Oh. And may I ask why you are angry with Baros?”
She sighed.
“I am not angry or anything. I am... just disappointed. He seems to be taking it on himself and sulking over how he should have not let all of that happen to me… So, I said ‘I don’t care’ and just left. I meant about him not being able to save me.”
“Wait, what?”
“I am disappointed that he is beating himself and thinks everything that happened to me was his fault. So, I thought I should leave him alone for a little while… But I guess he misunderstood. I thought about it last night and my wording might not have been great.”
Nazar frowned.
“Seriously?”
“What?”
Lian looked at him with blank eyes.
“I mean, I am not good with words or emotions… But if I remember my comics and manga, talking to him would have been better than just leaving him like that.”
“Bold of you to assume that I am any good with words or emotions,” she said with a blank look in her eyes.
Nazar sighed.
“Oh well...”
Nazar smiled before he vanished into thin air.

Jabalot Empire:
A planet full of terrible people from across the surrounding galaxy.
Do you want to kill someone? This is where you come.
Do you want to overthrow a monarch? This is where you come.
Do you want to destroy a planet? This is where you come.
Of course, others will do the same who are not part of this empire. But this is the main attraction for contracts like that.
On this large planet, in an underground base, surrounded occult and magic-related items, Darkness was sitting down on a chair.
The room was very large but it barely had any free space. The whole place was filled with books and items which were placed neatly. At one corner was a large bed that looked very comfortable. Near it was a desk with a chair.
She was sitting at a desk and reading through an ancient magic book which Nazar had sent her the other day as a way to pay her back for saving Emma.
He had found the magic book many years ago in another dimension. He kept it to himself but never used it.
While reading through that, Nazar appeared out of thin air.
“Yo, Lalatina.”
Feeling frustrated, she gritted her teeth.
Below Nazar, a magic circle appeared.
It shot a beam of energy towards Nazar but of course, it didn’t hurt him.
Even though it had hit the roof of the room, it was not damaged at all. Darkness had focused the beam at Nazar and even if it touches someone else or something else, it won’t hurt or damage them.
“Ugh,” she groaned. “I hate you so much.”
“I love you, too.”
Sighing deeply, she stood up and looked at Nazar.

“What brings you here, you shitty excuse for a human?”
Nazar placed his hand on his chest and made a hurtful expression.
“You are mean, Lalatina.”
Giving up, she sighed.
“So?”
“The demons… They are dead.”
Darkness gave him a blank look.
"That's... impossible."
She listened to what Nazar said about the demons and the Demon King.
Early this morning, he had contacted Karla to ask for demonic magic for Solace and that’s how he found out about the demons.
“So… The Demon King is the sole demon besides the female demons?”
Nazar nodded.
While Nazar was explaining, she had sat back in her chair.
She couldn’t believe what had happened.
“So? What happens now?”
“I don’t know.”
“And why did you just tell me all of this?”
“I still haven’t repaid fully for saving my sister. So, I thought information like this will help reduce the debt.”
“I see...”
“To repay you fully… Do you want anything else?”
Darkness thought about her answer.
“I will keep that request for later, Nazar. I will think of something until then.”
“Okay.”
Nazar doesn’t care about what she will ask him. He will give it to her. To him, his sister is everything.
“And is there anything wrong with the magic you use?”
She shook her head.
“Okay then.”
Nazar smiled as he teleported out.
As he left, Darkness thought about something.
“Ah. That will do!”
She knew what she wanted from Nazar.

Heaven:
Heaven. The fifth dimensional plane of existence. The place where angels live.
There are massive houses here and there, away from one another. Every angel has their own little world.
Their own little world can be designed the way they want it. That small part of their world can hold oceans and forests. Every angel designs theirs differently.
Nazar appeared in front of a small house on the beach and behind it was a forest. The interior and the exterior of the house is similar to Earth houses.
This is where the angel of the emotion love - Aarin lives.
He walked towards the small door and opened it.
Opening it, he saw a living room to his right. To the left was a kitchen.
At the end of the hallway was a stair that leads upstairs.
“Didn’t know you were coming to Heaven?”
Hearing Aarin’s voice from the kitchen, Nazar closed the door behind him and took off his shoes.
“I just wanted to drop by.”
“Are you hungry? I am nearly done making breakfast.”
Nazar sighed as he walked towards the kitchen.
“I don’t get why you cook like a normal person. Just use your powers and--BOOM! There is food.”
"Then why don't you use your powers instead of taking your time with food?"
Leaning on the door of the kitchen, Nazar had a thought.
Why does he not use his powers instead? It would take him seconds to make it.
Technically he doesn't need to eat. He doesn't need to drink either. And he doesn't need oxygen to survive. But he loves eating food. Especially chicken wings.
But then an answer came to him immediately.
"Because I like it?"
"Well, it's the same for me."
"Oh."
"Anyway, what brings you here today?"
"I am here abou--"
"Then why don't you tell me about it while we eat?"
Nazar sighed in an exasperated manner.
"What have you cooked?"
"Eggs."
Nazar frowned.
"Why do you eat so many eggs?"
"They are easy to cook in the morning."
"Oh…"
He looked disappointed in her answer.
After a few minutes of explaining and eating, Aarin finally understood why Nazar had come here.
"I will go to the Eternal Library and see what I can find."
Eternal Library is a library in Heaven run by Stadiel, Angel of Knowledge. The library has information about everyone and everything, excluding a few beings.
The knowledge is contained in books. It contains all the knowledge about the person or thing's history, likes, dislikes, age, powers, etc.
It also used to contain knowledge about their future. But as the future no longer exists, that part of the book is empty.
But the book is being written as time moves on.
The information in the books updates every single second. It records everything about the person or thing.
This can also be used to judge souls once they die.
They will pay for all of their sins but will be rewarded for their good deeds.
“But I don’t think I will find anything about him if I am being honest. If what you are saying… He might be bigger than everything we know. Same as you, Lucifer and the Nameless One. So, I don’t think we have anything on him.”
The Eternal Library contains information about everyone except for beings who exist in a plane above the fifth dimensional plane of existence - Heave. It also doesn’t include information about beings such as Lucifer, Michael, Nazar, the Nameless One, the Supreme One, the Dragon, and Arosus - who is essentially Nazar himself.
“Oh...”
Nazar already knew that but for a brief second, he hoped that the Eternal Library will be of some help. So, he looked very disappointed.
“So, was he really that powerful?”
Aarin had a little bit of uneasiness in her heart.
Nazar nodded, which made Aarin widen her eyes in surprise.
She had a grasp of how powerful the Demon King is but even then, she was surprised.
“And he was not even using his true powers. I could see his energies and they were insane. But that’s not all…”
Seeing a very serious and fearful look in Nazar’s eyes, she felt a chill down her body.
“I couldn’t get a read on his powers at all. I don’t know what powers he has. I don’t know what his physiology is like. He is hidden from all forms of higher forms of powers - like nigh-omnipresence.”
Aarin leaned back in her chair.
“Even Lucifer didn’t know about him until I told him. He also can’t ‘see’ him. Which is… I don’t know…”
Nazar trailed off and scratched the back of his head.
“Wow. That’s...”
Aarin was not sure what to say.
“Can you look for some answers here? I know it seems--”
“Yeah sure.”
Nazar smiled as he stood up.
“I am going to go and meet the Gods. See if they know anything.”
“Okay. But wouldn't it be useless? I mean no one really knows anything.”
"Yeah... I will try anyway."
Nazar prepared to teleport out.
“See you later, Aarin.”
Aarin smiled as Nazar vanished into thin air.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely.
