Chapter 33 - Rise of the Demon King - Part 3
4th Dimensional Plane of Existence, Hell:
Standing on the red fiery grounds of Hell, Nazar stood before a massive four headed demon.
A demon who had four heads and each one was facing different ways.
The demon was easily over 100 meters tall and over 70 meters wide.
Feeling a dangerous aura from the Demon King, Nazar sucked in a breath.
“Welcome to Hell, God, my rival.”
Hearing the Demon King’s loud voice, Nazar felt a chill run down his body.
He felt the nearby red fiery mountains shake to its core.
The thousands of demons kneeling before this Demon King felt the ground tremble beneath their feet.
“You are the Demon King?”
Nazar knew that.
He knew that very well.
Everyone was kneeling before this four-headed demon and he was giving off immense energies which he has never felt from any other demon.
Furthermore, it was almost comparable to someone like Lucifer.
Even though he knew this four-headed demon was the Demon King, he wanted to hear him confirm it.
“Yes, my rival.”
Spreading his arms in a welcoming manner, a gust of wind appeared in Hell.
Even some of the most powerful demons felt like they would lose their footing and fly with the wind.
However, Nazar stood still.
He had a barrier around him which redirected the gust of wind somewhere else. Before coming to Hell, inside the portal, he had placed a barrier around him. That barrier theoretically protects him from all forms of demonic magic and non-physical attacks.
“Welcome to the new Hell.”
A welcoming roar rang out in hell from the Demon King’s mouth.
“Interesting.”
Was the only thing that appeared from this new God’s mouth as he smiled thinly.
He was not happy or excited. In fact, he was very troubled but he did not want to show it on his face.
(Hell has changed.) Nazar thought to himself in a troubled manner but he didn’t show it on his face. (The demon clans were divided into twelve groups. Each had their own colour and duties. However, they are all turned into red skinned demons.)
Nazar analysed the demons from the corner of his eyes.
(Why would he do that? Their power levels have equalled too. Black Demons were the most powerful but now all of them are equal. Did the Demon King steal their power?)
Seeing that, the Demon King slightly but surely narrowed his eight eyes.
“Are you not scared, God?”
“God and Satan. Something that exists in almost every mythology. But in our world… our existence, demons were not exactly evil. And God was not exactly good. So, how do we fit into this, Satan?”
Nazar felt disgusted. He wanted to throw up but he didn’t show it on his face.
(I hate when people refer to me as God. And I hate it, even more, when I am referring to myself as God.)*
“Satan?”
The Demon King raised one his hands to his broad chin and started scratching it.
“It sounds really good too.”
Nazar sighed lightly.
"So… Tell me."
"About?"
"Everything. How you came to be? Who created you? Your full powers? And more."
The Demon King named Satan sighed deeply.
The demons below Nazar could smell the terrible scent of burning souls.
"I came into existence recently. I don't know the why or how of it. Or who created me."
Nazar frowned.
"I am basically like Lucifer. I have immense powers. That and the added power of every single demon makes me nearly as powerful as Lucifer."
Lucifer, as he is the first angel, he was a special being. And still is.
He is the most powerful angel. But that's not all. When God created angels, he connected them to Lucifer.
Lucifer has his own immense powers as well as the powers of every other angel, except for Michael, no matter how powerful they are.
The angels' powers are not reduced in any way. Their power is simply duplicated into Lucifer.
Lucifer, however, loses power once an angel dies.
Even if that angel gets reborn as a God, Lucifer cannot get their powers.
And now, this Demon King Satan is of a similar existence to Lucifer.
"And… I recreated the Dullahans because I need all the souls brought here. Hell… Hell had lost its meaning and purpose. I will bring it back. People should fear Hell."
Nazar sensed anger in his voice.
“And they should fear me too.”
Among the kneeling demons, Nazar slowly started to float.
“Sooo… Where does this rival stuff come in?”
“Hmph.”
A thin smirk appeared on the wide mouth of the demon.
“Can’t you tell?”
Nazar was not sure what the Demon King meant.
“You are God. I am the Demon King. Think this through.”
God and Satan were facing one another right now.
Nazar was floating in front of one of the many faces of the Demon King.
Looking into the eyes of the Demon King, Nazar felt a chill down run down his body.
He saw nothing but endless darkness in those red eyes of the Demon King.
“God and Demon King or Satan are rivals.”
"Ugh."
“Actually, call me Satan from now on. It rolls off the tongue much easier. Haha.”
Another laugh rang out in Hell.
Tasting the red blood on his face, Nazar said, “Stop playing around and just tell me.”
The Demon King narrowed its massive red eyes that did not have sclera.
“You don’t get to order me around.”
"Err. Please?"
A cold sweat came down on Nazar's face.
“Haha. Weak God.”
Nazar sighed at the Demon King’s comment.
“Well, I wanted you to come here so I can test myself against you.”
"What?"
"We are rivals, so we are supposed to fight."
(Wait, what?')
Nazar heard the breaking of air before he felt it.
He felt the molecules in air rip apart as something came towards him, which sounded like corn popping in a microwave.
It was louder than the thunder of the raging sky yet quieter than the night of a dead city.
In the next instant, he found himself inside the raging fires of a fiery red mountain.
“Huh…?”
He didn’t notice it but the shockwave from the punch had destroyed many nearby mountains.
The Demon King might be powerful but so is Nazar.
So, once an extremely strong fist met Nazar’s durable body, it caused a shockwave so powerful which was stronger than the gust of wind earlier.
(This fucker is using punches and kicks just to mess around? To show me that he doesn’t even want to use his true powers against me? If he had used that, my barrier would have redirected it.)
Before he knew what had happened to him, he saw a massive four headed demon landing on top of him, blocking his vision.
In the midst of darkness, Nazar heard every single bone break in his body.
Nazar coughed blood from his mouth.
He couldn’t even cry out in pain because the massive leg of the Demon King stomped him over and over again.
(Broken bones...) Nazar thought to himself in this intense pain. (A bone... Just stabbed into my heart! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! FUUUCKKKK! This hurts. This hurts. Damn it. I love this. Wait, no I hate this.)
Nazar tried to move but it was rather impossible since he was getting stomped by the Demon King.
(I didn’t expect this fucker to attack me with physical force. Shit! Fuck! I should have been prepared.)
Right now, he was getting stomped into the fiery grounds of Hell.
(If I try to put up a barrier right now, it will take longer. I can't get a read on this guy's exact physical power levels.)
However, he was not feeling the heat from the fire that can burn angels.
Mainly because the physical power of this Demon King was higher than any other being he has faced so far in physical combat.
(I swear to Go… yeah no, fuck that guy. I am going to kill this guy.)
The Demon King did not stop hitting him.
(Let’s start with getting out of this situation.)
He closed his eyes and relaxed his body as it got stomped again.
Every time the Demon King stomped Nazar, Hell trembled to its core. And he wanted to cry out in pain with each stomp.
If this keeps going, the damage can be much greater.
His body was healing fast but it was not keeping up with the Demon King’s attacks.
(Molecule disintegration.)
As Nazar thought, his body disintegrated into molecules.
The Demon King continued to stomp the ground where Nazar used to be.
To the Demon King, Nazar meant nothing.
He knows this new God has not accepted his Godhood, so he knows that he won't use his powers.
“Oh?”
The Demon King finally noticed something.
Nazar was nowhere to be seen.
“Did I turn him into a paste?”
A loud laugh rang out in Hell.
“Haha. That would be ideal.”
“Demon King Sir?”
A demon shouted to the Demon King.
He looked down at the small demon.
“What do you want, insect?”
The Demon King was talking to one of the twelve
“Err...”
The small demon felt intense fear and forgot what he wanted to say.
“You demons have grown weak. Demons are supposed to be evil and not in the middle. You are supposed to be the worst of the worst. Yet. Yet you go around and saving the universe when it is necessary? Pathetic.”
The demons on the ground felt cold sweat all over their body.
"Look at how far we have fallen. Heaven, which was supposed to be all good is nothing but full of evil and vile creatures like Michael. Who kills for fun and wanted to destroy everything. Is that not evil? Yet look at us."
The Demon King spread its arms in fury.
An unimaginable gust of wind was felt in Hell. It was as hot as the fire itself yet as cold as Antarctica.
"We are supposed to be the evil kind. But we are the lesser of the two evils. Michael, a murderer. Lucifer, who was working with someone who wanted to destroy everything."
The Demon King lowered his arms.
"And maybe the vilest of them, Azazel. He is the embodiment of death. How can he be considered an angel? Is an angel not supposed to be someone good?"
"I think you misunderstand, Satan."
A cold voice can be heard in the hot and fiery Hell.
"Azazel is not evil. He is perhaps one of the kindest angels. Yes, when he was manipulated, he did some evil stuff. But he is one of the kindest angels."
The Demon King looked around.
He couldn't trace the sound as it was coming from every direction at once.
Up, down, left, right, from, back, etc. If was coming from everywhere.
"I used to think the same - even until very recently. I thought angels were good and demons were evil. But I saw the difference. In this world, no one is truly evil and no one is truly good. Especially when it comes to angels and demons."
"That's rather a shallow and pathetic view of the world, isn't it, God?"
"Yours is just too old fashioned. I learned recently that there is a gap in between them. A gap between good and evil."
The Demon King searched tirelessly for the voice.
"Yes, there are good people. And there are bad people. But they have something of the opposite within them. I saw a man with a great vision. But what he did was evil."
The Demon King laughed.
"What I am saying is… we, as greater beings think to simple. There is a grey area."
The Demon King narrowed his eyes.
"So, to get back to your earlier statement… Yes, Azazel might be evil in nature. But he has a lot of good in his heart. He is kind. He cares for others. And he loves everyone. He has never hurt a lowly creature from a lower dimension on his own."
The Demon King looked up abruptly.
He had figured out where this new God was hiding.
Looking up, the Demon King saw something.
The red sky of Hell suddenly turned into a bright white sky.
And Nazar was holding both of his palms up.
Nazar was invisible so far.
But he could no longer hide.
(The first time I disintegrated myself into molecules...) Nazar thought to himself. (It took me days to put myself together. And since then, I have been disintegrated on a molecular level thousands of times. I have learned to put myself back together in an instant.)
“You…!”
“I may be a God. But I will not accept my role in all of this. It’s a position forced upon me by others.”
The bright white sky started to come down like a meteor towards the Demon King.
“In my life, I have pretended to be a God a few times. But deep down, I hate that role. I hate the name.”
Flapping his massive grey wings, the Demon King lifted himself from the ground.
The flapping of his wings caused powerful winds to appear.
Demons were being thrown away as if they are plastic bags in a typhoon.
“I FUCKING HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!”
Shouting on top of his lungs, he accidentally used voice amplifier.
Amplifying his voice thousand folds, the Demon King felt pain in his ears for a split second.
However, it healed immediately.
“Why, you pest!”
The Demon King moved faster and faster towards Nazar. And Nazar did the same. He started to fly down towards the Demon King.
The sky was coming down at a fast rate.
The distance between the ground and the sky was only a few hundred miles but it will take the falling sky a few seconds to reach the ground.
On the ground, a high-class demon regained his footing and looked at the falling white sky.
“No!”
He gulped.
“If that sky hits the ground… Hell will be no more.”
The sky was coming closer and closer. And so was eternal doom.
“We need to stop this!”
The small demon looked around and found out the other demons were still being thrown away.
Back in the skies of the hell, the Demon King also noticed the coming sky. He figured out why it was white.
“Oh? Are you sure you want to do this?”
Nazar was not sure what the Demon King was saying.
And he was even more dumbfounded once he saw the thin smile on the Demon King’s face.
“If that sky hits the ground...”
Nazar’s eyes widened as he noticed it.
“Then Hell will fall.”
“Heaven and other dimensions...”
Nazar gulped before continuing.
“Will crumble down on my universe.”
He stopped moving and turned around to look up at the sky.
“And killing everything.”
“Shit. Shit. Shit! SHIT!”
Nazar became very nervous.
His body started to shake.
Weakly, he held up his hand.
“Puh-please… J-ju-just… a little mo-mo-more.”
Cold sweat poured down on his face.
He felt his anxiety skyrocketing.
His heart started to beat so fast that he thought it will jump out of his throat. It was not because of excitement but because he was scared.
“Weak God.”
The Demon King had gotten closer in this time.
He punched Nazar with his massive fist and sent him flying away.
Once again, the shockwave from that punch destroyed mountains and made the Hell tremble.
Nazar felt an increase in the Demon King's punches. But he did not have enough time to worry about that.
He was more worried about the sky.
He did something to the red skies of Hell subconsciously. So, he needs to stop it before it reaches the ground.
(I have to erase it.)
His mind started to blank out as he was flying in the air.
Looking at the sky, it looked so beautiful.
Nazar forced his hand to move.
He raised his palm towards the sky.
“Erase!”
(It isn’t working?)
He had used Erasure at its highest level he could.
But it was useless.
The white sky was coming down at a very fast rate.
(Don’t tell me...) He realised something. (I used Godly powers…?)
His throat became very dry.
His body started to shake too.
“No not a--”
He was punched by the Demon King again.
(I can’t remove it unless I use Godly powers...)
Flying uncontrollably in the white skies of hell, Nazar didn’t even feel any pain.
He felt it but didn’t notice it.
(I don’t have a choice...)
He tried to raise his hand but noticed the Demon King stomping him into the ground with the force of his foot.
Falling to the ground with a Demon King standing on top of him, Nazar tried to slow down.
The sky will come down any second.
(I never wanted to use my Godly power. Even divine retribution is not Godly power. It is sin manipulation and soul manipulation power. It's a power used by demons, angels, priests in some cultures, and more. It isn't a Godly power.)**
On top of Nazar, the Demon King laughed.
(And giving others power… That’s physiology manipulation. It is a common power.)
Nazar felt pain in his heart.
He had to do it. There was no other way.
To save everything and erase his mistake, Nazar shut his eyes.
(Do it!)
He wanted to think of another way but he kept hearing one thing in his mind; “Do it!”
Is it him shouting to himself? Is it that Goddess Michael mentioned? Is it a demon? Is it the Nameless One?
(Do it, you coward. This is your creation. Save it!)
Who is it?
He slightly moved his hand and squeezed his heart.
“DAMN IT!”
He cursed himself and everyone else who has messed with his life in his heart.
“Decipher the laws of science, magic and logic...”
Nazar stopped falling down.
"Creation be bent to my will..."
“Hm?”
The Demon King tried to put more force into his foot to push him down but it wouldn’t work.
Nazar was no longer falling.
The Demon King also felt increased energies from below him.
Nazar then vanished into thin air.
“Ah?”
The Demon King started to lose his footing and was now falling to the ground.
He quickly flapped his wings and started to float.
“Where… Ah.”
Looking around, he saw Nazar floating in the sky not far from here.
Something was different about him.
He was giving off energies unlike before.
A massive white glow was surrounding him.
“Hrm.”
The Demon King flew towards Nazar. He watched as Nazar hold his left chest in one hand and raise his palm towards the sky.
He wanted to stop him.
“Be...”
Nazar hesitated.
But there was no other choice.
He had to do it.
Nazar squeezed out those words with everything he had.
“Begone!”
With just a word, the white sky vanished and was replaced by the normal red skies of Hell.
(Return to normal.)
The weird white aura around Nazar vanished.
He was back to normal.
“I fucking hate this.”
However, he felt extremely weak compared to before.
He turned around to look at the Demon King.
But.
The Demon King punched him with his massive fist.
“Why did you stop it, weak God?”
Before Nazar could recover, he was punched again and again.
“I wanted to see it all die.”
The Demon King sounded annoyed.
Flying in the skies of Hell uncontrollably, Nazar felt his vision flickering.
(I hate using this power...)
As his vision blackened, something happened.
He vanished into thin air but he didn’t feel it. He didn't even know it happened.
The Demon King floated in the air as he tried to search for him.
He couldn’t find him.
“Tch. Weakling.”
လလလ
Michael was watching everything from a faraway place in a dazed manner.
“To think...”
He watching the whole battle via a mirror that showed him everything he wanted to see.
“He would use his Godly powers...”
Nazar is an actual God who recreated everything after he accidentally destroyed it.
“Did you not say that he had created universes and such before?”
Hearing the question of Wrath, one of the Seven Deadly Sins, Michael turned around.
He saw the seven monsters standing before him.
“Yes, he did. But I meant after that. He was pretty young back then. And that was before he went to another dimension for hundreds of years when he came back to his senses. He went there because he wanted to change his mindset.“
The monsters looked at one another.
“After coming back, he changed. He hated everything about his Godhood. But during a short period of time before that, he gave into power. He hadn’t accepted it. He hated it. But I guess he wanted to put up a brave face.”
The mirror soon vanished from there.
“And after coming back from that place, he had changed his thinking about Godhood. Even for showing off, he didn’t want to use it. So, since the last time he used his Godly powers, hundreds of years for him has passed - since time moves differently in that dimension. He didn’t want to use his powers even if the world was coming to an end. That’s why he started getting help from angels and demons instead of unleashing his true powers..”
“And since we messed with his powers today, it caused him to use his Godly powers?”
“That’s right, Pride,” Michael said as he nodded.
Michael stood up.
“He did tell his parents that he was a God… but I guess he didn’t want to hide it from them. But why did he let the humans think he was a God?”
Michael thought hard about it.
What could have caused Nazar to appear as a God before those humans?
“Was the Goddess manipulating him?”
He shook his head.
“No, that can’t be. She didn’t say or seem like she was messing with him at that time. Then why would he do that? If he hates it so much?”
