Chapter 18 - Family Matters - Part 2
Sitting in the living room of his house, with his brother, sister, cousin and parents, Nazar was explaining his story to them.
A being with more power than anyone else was explaining how got here and what he has done so far in his life.
“So, what changes did you make?” Emma asked Nazar this question after he mentioned changing some stuff.
“That’s a good question.”
Nazar took a deep breath and continued.
“First I killed Emily, who obviously had changed form and was looking like the Nameless One. Then I killed the demon who was ruling over the world and saved the world and freed everyone. After that, well, I lived the life you guys saw……... As a cover that is.”
Aeron, more than anyone knew how secretive Nazar was. So, he was getting a little interested to know what his brother was truly up to.
“I used my powers to search for the dragon - someone I met a while ago and wanted to know exactly what he was.”
“Dragons are real?” Emma asked an airheaded question.
Nazar noticed that Emma was trying to lighten up the gloomy mood in here, so he just nodded to reply to her and continued with explaining his story.
“Looking for him with the help of Lucifer and Aarin and other angels… Well, things went wrong.”
“...... What?”
“My power was getting to my head. I was making and destroying planets, universes, concepts, etc, etc... I mean, yeah, I created everything but things were getting to me. At that time, Michael noticed and he tried to stop me… but instead of fixing myself, I took away his power and exiled him.”
Nazar looked at Emma and forced a smile on his face.
“So, what happened to you was my fault. Sorry.”
“...”
Aeron looked at Emma and asked, “What happened to you?”
“....Long story. Will tell you later.”
“Besides the angels and stuff like that… I saved an empire when it was about to collapse and now I rule over it.”
Their eyes widened with surprise.
“And so far, that’s my story.”
“Wait, that’s it?” Aeron said out loud. “That’s the only things you have done in 21 years?”
“Well… I have done a lot but they aren’t exactly important. Most of it relates to searching for the dragon, ruling over an empire, going around the multiverse, and some other stuff. A series of events lead to a chain reaction...”
Nazar spread his arms out.
“It created this.”
“Oh.”
“And not just me. Other Nazars also remembered their life and changed their world. So, things are different in their world too.”
Nazar exhaled slowly once he was done explaining his story.
“Any questions?” Nazar said as he looked around.
“Okay, I have a question,” Emma said as she raised her hand, “Did I have powers?”
Nazar shook his head and said, “No.”
Emma’s shoulders dropped a little.
“That’s disappointing...”
“You mentioned this girl named Emily,” Aeron started to speak as he untied his tie, “who is she?”
“Oh, her.”
Nazar’s hand twitched and the room darkened. He manipulated the light in the room.
In the middle of the room, a yellow light construct appeared, showing a petite woman.
“When the Nameless One was creating ‘Nazars’ - things that power him up, he did not succeed for a while. He needed a power source. So, he created ‘Emilys’. She is the source of their power. When she dies, the ‘Nazars’ will lose their powers. But as long as she is alive, they are probably some of the most powerful people. Of course, that doesn’t apply to me.”

“Why does she die?”
Hearing Aria’s question, Nazar titled his head a little in confusion.
“Why does this ‘Emily’ person die? Why does she not live forever? And if you - the Nazars - is powering up the...uh… Nameless One? wouldn’t it be better if she lived for longer?”
“....”
Nazar never really thought about why Emily dies. Why was she not immortal and live forever?
“That… I will ask him if I ever see him again. Of course, if I see him again, I will definitely kill him. But will ask him before killing him.”
Aeron’s eyes squinted in confusion.
“Didn’t you just say you killed him?”
“Oh. There were two of them. One from the future and one from the current time.”
“...What?”
“You see,” Nazar’s hand moved, Emily’s hologram vanished and was instead replaced by two images of the Nameless One, who resembles Nazar, “there are two of them. One of them is from the future and the other was from the present. I killed the future one and was about to kill the present one but the dragon stopped me.”
“Dragon?” Emma asked.
“He is… uh… It’s complicated. I have a feeling I know what he is but cannot say it. That’s why I am looking for him.”
“Oh...”
Emma raised her hand again and Nazar pointed out with his chin.
“You mentioned angels, fallen angels and Archangels. What’s the difference?”
“Angels were created to be the Supreme One’s soldiers. Supreme One was basically God. And they were his soldiers. He had complete control over them since they were pre-programmed. A fallen angel is someone who is no longer under his control and he/she is their own free person. Archangel on the other hand...”
Nazar paused for a little while before continuing.
He was remembering the details of it.
“In the original timeline, Michael killed the Supreme One and then he became an Archangel. He was no longer under his control. But that’s not all. An Archangel is a stand-in for the Supreme One.”
“Umm… What?”
“Okay, so if the Supreme One was supposed to die, Michael could take his place.”
Emma, not grasping the concept of it, started to scratch her head.
“Okay, so the Supreme One or Nameless One has to exist in this another dimension outside of the existence in order for the multiverse to move forward. And if these two don’t exist, then Michael or I could take their place and keep it moving.”
“O-oh?”
“Let’s just say, Michael has the potential to be on the same league as omnipotent beings…. But at the same time, he won’t be omnipotent. So, he will be close to them but won’t be omnipotent himself.”
Nazar let out a sigh.
(Huh, I just noticed I am barely making any sense. But honestly, they are pretty confusing to me sometimes.) Nazar thought to himself as he scratched his own head.
He looked around and no one asked a question.
They were all trying to take in what he had said.
“Oh yeah, I nearly forgot something important about myself.”
All of a sudden, Nazar’s form changed.
He was around 2.30 meters tall and was much more muscular.
Seeing that, everyone’s mind went completely blank.
“I am supposed to this tall and this big, but I changed it to look more… ‘normal’,” Nazar said with a smile as his form returned to ‘normal’.

Everyone was staring at him blankly.
Seeing their sharp gazes, Nazar continued to speak and got rid of this awkward silence.
“When I look at someone, I see their ‘stats’. By 'stats' I mean, when I look at someone, I see their height, weight, width and other dimensions…”
By dimensions, he meant measurements like chest size.
”I can also see their powers and power levels but that ‘feature’ is disabled most of the time since its more fun to find it out manually.”
Nazar looked around the room once more, they were no longer staring at him blankly.
“As for power, I have Absolute Wish and then I later had omnipotence. Though I got rid of my omnipotence, I still have a lot of powers. Goes from telepathy to telekinesis. Force field to flight. Reality warping to time manipulation. And soooo many more.”
“That sounds kind of cool.”
“Well, not really.”
On Nazar’s face, a sad expression appeared.
“Here is the thing about my power: I can get any power but can never get rid of it. I can disable it but not delete it.”
Emma was not sure what was so bad about that.
“As for my looks… My physical attributes are based off my creator, the Nameless One. Everything used to be the same except height. But then I changed my hair colour and eye colours too so I don’t look exactly like him.”
“Oh.”
“And for my name...”
Nazar took a deep breath.
“The Nameless One was going around and exploring the multiverse. One day, he came across a planet in which the word ‘Nazar’ meant ‘hope’. And from there, he got the idea… or maybe it was before that…. But after that, he created us. And those names are embedded in our parent’s heads and they name us ‘Nazar’.”
Nazar sat in the corner and waited for them to ask more questions.
As no one asked a question, he looked at his mother and father, who were sitting near each other.
“You know, I have never feared anything in my life as much as the two of you.”
Hearing that, they finally noticed his gaze upon them.
“When I was young, both of you tortured me, experimented on me, took out my brain and my heart and what not… Of course, I never died but you wanted to know the source of my power to try and clone me and give others powers.”
He stood up and walked towards her.
“I know it wasn’t you and I know you were in control or anything… But I still feared you and still do.”
He kneeled in front of his mother and took her hand.
“But at the same time, seeing you feel guilty for something you haven’t done...”
He forced a smile on his face.
“I don’t want to see that. I don’t want you to feel guilty for something you haven’t done,” Nazar said as he glanced over to his father. “That was not you and even then, they were under the demon’s control. He is long dead now.”
His mother’s eyes welled up.
And seeing that, Nazar felt a little troubled.
“Sorry. Since I wanted to no longer keep secrets, I want you to know everything. But at the same time, I wanted you to know that your god-like son is not invincible. I want you to know, that deep down, that I am still your son and maybe…”
A sad smile appeared on his face.
“Maybe if I look hard enough... I am still a human deep within.”
Streams of tears started to come down on her face.
She went closer and hugged him tightly.
“I am sorry. I am so sorry.”
He hugged her back and smiled.
“I know it was not you and you will never do it, so please don’t apologise.”
She kept apologising as she cried.
So, Nazar felt really bad for bringing it up.
After a little while, Nazar vanished into thin air and appeared in the living room of his apartment.
Once he appeared, his whole body was shaking to its core.
He couldn’t think straight and felt like losing strength.
Nazar fell to his knees and then looked at his palm.
Clenched it and then unclenched it.
(Turn off... emotions.)
All of a sudden, his body stopped shaking.
He took a few deep breaths.
“I am glad, no one saw that.”
He let out a sigh and then got up and sat on the sofa.
Nazar would usually sit on the sofa and stare at the wall, so he was doing exactly that.
As he was staring, in front of him, from the thing air, Solace materialised.
It was as if pixels came together and formed her.
That was the nanites in the house coming together to give her a physical form.
“You handled it better today,” Solace said as soon as she materialised.
“Yeah...”
“But are you sure about this?”
Nazar didn’t answer her question.
“When you first created me, we shared the same brain. Your brain was the central processing unit for me. And now you have removed me. Nothing wrong with that, but are you sure you can take care of yourself?”
Nazar nodded.
“You have always been emotionally unstable. Going into a panic like that, but what if you go out of control?”
Nazar just stared at Solace.
“Do you remember what happened last time?”
Nazar lowered his gaze.
“I am not saying it a bad thing but you did it very suddenly and honestly I am not...”
Solace stopped speaking and went closer to Nazar.
She placed her hand on his face and raised it.
“If you ever go into a panic and can’t control it, just let me know.”
In her other hand, a small device appeared out of thin air.
She placed it on Nazar’s face.
“Even if I am not in your brain anymore, this should help inform me if you go into another panic and I will be ready to help you, okay?”
Nazar forced a smile and nodded.
“Thanks, Solace.”
“No need.”
A wide smile appeared on her face.
"Your friends will be here soon, so don't let them see you like this."
And just like that, vanished into thin air.
