Chapter 14 - Miscalculation - Part 4
Tokyo, Japan:
The woman known as Haru Watanabe, who got powers from the floating white energy ball was riding a train.
It was late in the evening and she was returning from work.
The train was packed with people and it was noisy.
However, that was not the reason why she was covering her ears with her hands and kept her eyes shut.
(“Ahhh. Can’t wait to go home.”)
(“I am so hungry.”)
(“My phone is dead. Damn it!”)
(“I am so tired.”)
(“Ooh. That girl is cute.”)
(“I have a deadline for tomorrow.”)
(“Oh fuck. It fell off.”)
She was hearing the thoughts of those around her. And that has been the case for the last 10 days.
(Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!) Haru thought to herself.
“”
She heard a voice behind her.
A voice that didn’t feel human.
A voice that felt artificial.
She removed her hands from her ears. But she could no longer hear the chatter. She couldn’t hear the sound of the train moving.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw that the train was not moving.
“”
She slowly turned around and saw that everyone was frozen.
A girl’s drink was falling off but it hadn’t reached the ground since it was frozen.
In this frozen state, only Haru Watanabe could move.
She turned around completely and saw a figure made of pure white light.
Once she saw him, she covered her eyes slightly since it was too bright.
“”
While Nazar was speaking, his light became dimmer and dimmer.
“”
“”
On her face, a confused look appeared.
Nazar let out a sigh.
“”
“”
She realised who it was and relaxed her posture.

“”
“”
Her sudden question made Nazar stop and think about his answer.
“”
“”
Nazar took a deep breath - or so he thought. In this form, he doesn’t have a mouth to breathe through and he certainly doesn’t need something like oxygen to survive.
“”
He wanted to take a different approach than he did earlier.
“”
“”
She gave him a blank look and then waved her hand in front of her.
“”
“”
Her eyes widened in surprise.
“”
“”
Nazar let out a sigh.
“”
“”
She lowered her gaze as she began to think.
Nazar watched as Haru thought very hard about it.
“”
“”
She took a deep breath.
“”
“”
“”
“”
Nazar’s calculations were wrong.
He thought that humans either saw white or black. He had not calculated the middle grey area.
(Interesting… I guess?)
Nazar let out another sigh.
""
“”
Nazar was not expecting her to ask that question. He had already told her where it was but he was not expecting to ask this question.
“”
Seeing her confused expression, Nazar started to explain.
“”
“”
Ignoring her, Nazar continued, “”
“”
She sighed exasperatedly as she gave up trying to understand this world around her.
“”
“”
“”
She exhaled slowly.
“”
She stretched her arms a little and smiled.
“”
She let out a laugh.
“”
Nazar was taken by surprise when she asked him a question.
“”
“”
Nazar was about to say no but then he trailed off and thought about it.
“”
“”
Nazar noticed that her laughs seemed very fake but he didn’t want to ask about it.
(It look like she is used to faking her laughter and smile.) Nazar thought to himself.
“”
“”
Her disappointed look was immediately turned into a surprised and excited look.

“”
For the first time during their brief conversation, Nazar noticed that she wasn’t faking her smile.
“”
“”
“”
Her smile vanished slowly as she noticed that the scenery was coming back.
She could see things move and she could hear them once more.
The figure made of pure white light had also vanished.
She frantically looked around and saw people minding their own business. Some of them were on their phones, some of them were talking to other people, and one person was frowning because her drink fell to the ground.
“” she muttered to herself slowly.
She continued to look around but Nazar was nowhere to be seen.
While looking around, she finally noticed something.
She wasn’t hearing anyone’s thought.
“”
But then a smile appeared on her face as she looked out of the window.

The Goddess of Death's Champion
Eliot and Cel start off the same as any other peasant and climb their way to the heavens. At least, that's what a cheesy hook might say, however, Eliot and Cel have always had the attention of the Gods, Eliot longer than Cel but by no God more important. Even if it is their destiny to achieve legend status, they started out some where, and with only the semblance of a head start, not to mention that it makes for an interesting story. (If you decided to read because of a specific tag, some of them only show up later on in the story. I should also mention that romance is a significant focus but there is no romance tag besides the one in genre)

Sustaining the King's Life
On a secluded mountain situated upon a kingdom known as Feuersturm, resides a seemingly trifling cabin with an unlikely duo as its inhabitant—a witch, and her apprentice who presumably comes from a clan sought after by slave traders. Faustina is a sixteen-year-old girl who fled the slave market with the help of a sickly witch named Eula, who later on trained her as an apprentice for the span of seven years. Plagued with a mysterious disease for several years, Eula died despite the efforts Faustina had exerted to cure her; in her last breath, she left an odd request behind. "Sustain the king's life. This is your duty. Do not adhere to the prophecy." To which the odd plea shadowed a bizarre series of events, a consequential sentence, similar to that of a premonition. The same night the phrase was muttered, the chain of events followed: A warlock's intrusion to their home, with a peculiar yearning to resurrect Eula from the dead... and the king himself, asking for Faustina’s aid. ** 1-2 chapters a day (GMT+8) ** (The artwork belongs to me.
