Chapter 11 - Miscalculation - Part 1
Switzerland, Friday 1st of January 2021:
Nazar appeared on top of the roof of a very tall building.
Once he appeared, he saw a muscular yet feminine looking woman.
She was around 1.77 M tall with long blonde hair and blue eyes.
This woman was wearing a long one-piece white dress that covered her whole body.
She was an emotion-based angel known as Aarin. Aarin was the angel of emotion love.
“You are late, Aarin,” Nazar said with a smile. "I was expecting you earlier today."
“Sorry,” she replied as she looked down on the city while standing at the edge of the roof.
Nazar went close and stood next to her.
“Have you found anything about the dragon?”
The dragon is an ancient being who met with Nazar 21 years ago and ever since then, he has been looking for it.
“Nope. Nothing.”
“Damn it.”
Nazar sat down on the side of the roof and let his feet dangle.
Aarin did the same.
“So, why did you call me here today?”
“I want to change the world.”
Aarin gave him a blank look but Nazar just smiled.
“I will bring down the barrier today. And you see that asteroid that’s coming towards Earth?” Nazar said as he pointed up.
“Yes.”
“I will take it down. And show the world.”
“So, you want to be a hero now?”
Nazar laughed.
“Oh, no. I have other plans.”
“Hm?”
“Five months from now, ten random people will gain superpowers. Two other will find artefacts. One artefact is magic based and the other is cosmic based. The artefacts might be found earlier or very later. Who knows,” Nazar said as he shrugged.
Aarin was not sure how she should react to this.
In Nazar’s hand, a white energy ball appeared.
“The people who gain powers will see a floating white energy ball in front of them on May 1st. They are asked a question.”
Nazar looked at Aarin.
“Do you want superpowers?”
Then the energy ball vanished.
“If they accept it, they will be responsible for their actions from now on.”
“And what if you give it to back bad people?”
“Bad people, huh?”
Nazar faced the city below him once more.
“Good and evil are subjective.”
“No, it’s not!”
Aarin rebuked but Nazar didn’t listen.
“So, in this plan, I wish that five ‘good’ people and five ‘bad’ people will gain superpowers. And the artefacts… well, whoever finds it first.”

Aarin stared at him blankly.
She couldn’t tell if Nazar was joking or being serious.
“The ‘good’ will fight against the ‘bad’.”
“Why?”
Nazar didn’t reply to her.
“And then I will see how they change the world. And then, of course, there is me. The older ‘hero’. I will place myself on the chess board too.”
Aarin just gave up trying to understand him.
“Also, the powers are going to very basic. Each person will gain one to three powers. Do you want to know which ones I have chosen?”
Aarin just shrugged.
She had given up trying to understand where this conversation was going.
“Subject #1 will get telepathy. Subject #2 will get telekinesis. Subject #3 will get super speed. Subject #4 will get a flight with speed - because if you can't move fast, then what's the point?. Moving on. Subject #5 will get invulnerability. Subject #6 will get super strength. Subject #7 will get gravity manipulation.”
Aarin finally reacted.
“Gravity manipulation is not a basic power, you know?”
“It is for me.”
She sighed.
“Subject #8 will get teleportation. Subject #9 will get erasure - they can erase anything. And I mean anything. Subject #10 will get reality warping.”
“I thought you said basic?”
“Well, they are. Anyway, it all comes with a cost. So, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.”
"But none of them got three powers?"
Nazar was no sure what Aarin said.
He thought back to his list and what he said.
"Oh. Well, I might give it to them later on?"
“I see. But I still think its a stupid idea.”
Nazar looked at Aarin.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“Well, I have made up my mind. I want to see where this goes. It’s going to get interesting from now on.”
“I see. So, why are you telling me this?”
“I just wanted you to know that I making my return.”
Nazar held up his hand towards the sky.
And then the barrier broke apart.
This barrier was placed here by the angel Lucifer when he created humanity 30,000 years ago. Since it was considered a cosmic abomination by many, they tried to capitalise on it. So, he placed a barrier around it to protect it.
“I want humanity to move beyond its shackles. After the 10 new superhumans, more and more will come out.”
Something changed around the world.
Weird energy covered the whole planet. It did not have a colour but Aarin could see it.
“Mutation.”
“Ah?”

“More and more people will gain superpowers. More artefacts will appear. Humanity will need to move beyond this backwater planet and rise to the skies.”
Aarin never expected Nazar to do this.
She knew he hated them but why is he doing this?
“I always hated humans for being weak and pathetic. But now I saw them from a different light.”
“Hm?”
“Looking at them as a God… they have potential. And I want to see how far they can reach on their own. I am just jump-starting their evolution.”
Aarin found herself surprised once she heard Nazar call himself a "God" but she didn't show it on her face.
She was not sure why he would call himself that after he tried to deny it for so long.
“I see...”
“I will be one of the ‘heroes’. And I will do my best.”
He stood up.
“I haven’t come up with a name or costume… but for now, I will not let anyone see my face.”
The asteroid was now falling towards at an unimaginable speed.
He had increased its speed.
“Being a hero on Earth, studying, running an alien empire, etc.”
He looked down at Aarin and smiled.
“I feel like my life will finally stop being boring.”
Nazar started to float a little.
“Let’s see how this life will go.”
He looked up.
“Aarin, you are very important to me and I love you, but don’t try to stop me. Please.”
Nazar and Aarin have a brother and sister like relationship. Aarin used to visit him every week to keep him company when he was young. It was so he wouldn’t feel lonely in this world and be with someone who remembers the other world.
But the frequency of her visits slowed down as Nazar got older because Nazar told her to. He wanted to grow up on his own and not rely too much on her.
“Honestly, I wasn’t really planning to. It’s your world.”
She stood up.
“And if it makes you feel better… if it will make you live a better life, then go ahead.”
She forced a smile on her face.
“Did you want me to stop you?”
Nazar looked at her.
“...”
“Well, even if you wanted to be stopped, it’s too late now. It’s your world… No, it’s your creation, so do whatever you like.”
“I see...”
“And I think I like your idea. I have lived among humans for thousands of years. I saw them change but it was not enough. And I do agree that they have potential. So...”
“So, we should let them reach their potential.”
Nazar smiled.
“But if you go beyond this… wouldn’t you just be like the Supreme One? Or the Nameless One? Just a being with too much power and doing as you wish? Are you going to become what you hated the most?”
Nazar’s smile vanished.
“...”
He thought a little about his answer.
“No.”
“Oh?”
“I will give them a choice. The superhumans can reject it. And same with the future generations with powers. If they don’t want it, they can give it away. Pass it onto someone else or just get rid of it. But they will be powerless ever after.”
“I see. But I still think you might be becoming like them. Again.”
“I won’t interfere as a God. I will not use my powers to influence anything. I will help them as a ‘hero’ and that’s it.”
Aarin's heart skipped a beat in surprise because of the unexpected word Nazar used.
A smile appeared on her face and it was not a forced one.
“Well, if you go too far, I will stop you.”
“Okay,” he said as he smiled widely.
He looked up once more and went up a little higher.
“Hey Aarin,” he said while flying up slowly.
“What?”
He looked down and smiled.
“After I am done with this, let’s go shopping.”
“....”
Aarin had no idea what he was saying.
“Huh?”
“Well, you always wear the same dress, so I thought you should try out other clothes? I always wondered how you will look in--”
“No,” Aarin said as she frantically waved her hands in front of her. “This is the only thing I have worn.”
“I see...”
Even though Nazar was flying up, they could still hear each other.
Aarin saw the asteroid coming down faster and faster.
But Nazar was rather calm.
“Maybe later. But not today.”
Nazar smiled.
“Let’s see how this life will go from now on.”
He increased his speed and flew towards the asteroid.
On this day, humanity learned a fact.
Superhumans exist.
And then a new era of humanity began.

Saturday 1st of May 2021:
The day humanity changed once more. 10 people gained superpowers. But who got which power? Who will be good and who will be evil? How will the world change exactly?
Earth will change. Humanity will change.
But.
Just not the way Nazar had intended, that's for sure.

That Scottish Play
This is a very silly and cringey parody of Shakespeare's Macbeth. The play format will be kept consistent throughout. Unless you enjoy cringing so hard you experience physical pain, I'd suggest avoiding this work. However, as the level of cringe is only slightly less than that of the office, any fans of that show may enjoy this work. (I believe, as a parody, this work is protected from copyright by fair use, additionally, Shakespeare is in the public domain so it doesn't fall under copyright in the first place. If I'm wrong please let me know)
