The wind blew gently. The sky was so clear that they could see the stars were shining brightly.

Yet, the atmosphere at the grass field was filled with sorrowful screams. A boy was still crying there.

The wind blew the flowers on the field. It was really serene apart from the boy's screams of agony. Not even animal noises could be heard.

A book was laying on the grass. It stood up and lifted its upper side a bit, facing the full moon that shone brightly. The brilliant moonlight veilled the sorrowful night.

After some time, the voice gradually disappeared. The boy lost his consciousness and fell asleep.

...

A couple of hours passed by. The boy finally regained his consciousness. He slowly opened his eyes.

"Ouch!" He tried to touch his injury but stopped and put down his hand, he closed his right eye slowly again.

"I forgot about it." He said as he gritted his teeth.

"Fuh… I lost consciousness for I don't know how long…" He looked up to the sky, and saw the familiar faces. He turned to panic. "I have to go back right now! I can't give up now!"

He stood up abruptly, his chest was going up and down, his whole body was tense. He clenched his fist and thought, "The moon is still up. So it should be alright. As long as I make it there."

Then something pulled him from the side. The boy glanced and said with gestures. "I. Have. To. Go."

The grimoire slumped down slightly. It looked dejected. It seemed that it understood by now that the boy was in some kind of trouble, that he had to go as fast as he could.

The grimoire thought, looking back at the time before. It all made sense now that he might be in some sort of circumstances that he needed to do something very important.

Or else, he wouldn't be crying like that until he lost his consciousness like before.

The grimoire might be a little too excited that it finally found someone after all these years spending time alone in this isolated place.

The boy seeing the grimoire all quiet. He sighed. "It's not like it had bad intentions."

He tapped on it. The grimoire looked up and saw the boy said while gesturing.

"Why. Don't. You. Come. With. Me?"

The grimoire was quiet for a while, it seemed trying to understand what the boy was talking about.

"..."

Seeing the grimoire tilted to the side, the boy walked toward the ancient ruins again. He turned his head and gestured with his hand.

"Come. With. Me."

The grimoire was quiet. But then it lifted up to the air and flew toward the boy. It hovered around the boy. Seemingly understanding what the boy meant.

The boy nodded and slightly smiled seeing its behavior. It was a new scene that he had never seen before. But the current situation made him didn't have the time to be happy just yet. He had something to do that was weighing on his mind. He turned solemn again.

"Please. Help. Me. Go. Back."

The grimoire hovered around. It dragged the boy by his robe again, leading him back to the murals.

"Why. Are. You. Showing. Me. This?"

The grimoire pointed using its page tip to the mural at one of the men who led the two opposite sides and pointed back to the boy.

"What?!" The boy was shocked. He couldn't believe it. "What do you mean?! There is no way!"

The grimoire was hovering around. It seemed it guessed what the boy was saying. It had something to tell him. So it kept thinking about what to say with gestures.

It had no hands, and the boy also couldn't read its language…

"What. Are. You. Doing?" The boy was confused, seeing the grimoire hovering around while he was waiting for it to tell him something.

The grimoire was clearly frustrated. It hovered around the place, trying to find proper gestures to tell the boy…

"BAM!"

"What the hell!"

It slammed to the table in the center.

Luckily, the table was very durable. It was made with some kind of special stone. It didn't break. Though the boy had no idea what stone it was.

The grimoire was slamming its cover to the stone floor. Seemingly throwing a tantrum like a little kid.

"Hey, hey! Stop!" The boy hurriedly ran to it, making gestures 'X' with his both hands. "Are. You. Angry?"

"..." The grimoire was quiet. It just stood there. Not trying to move even one bit.

"Ha… hahaha!" The boy was laughing as he held his belly with both of his hands. "Why. Are. You. Even. Angry?"

The grimoire was quiet for some time. But then it gestures as good as it could to make him understand why.

"Oh! So you were angry because you couldn't find the right gestures to answer my question… maybe?" He thought to himself.

"You are like a kid!" He said while laughing.

"..." The grimoire was clearly upset seeing him laughing heartily at it. It turned its front cover back, not wanting to look at the boy.

The boy gradually stopped his laughter. The grimoire sensed it and slightly turned around to take a glance at him.

Then the boy said as he offered his right hand toward it.

"Then. Come. With. Me."

The grimoire didn't understand the whole part of what the boy was saying. But it clearly understood his intention.

He asked it to follow him.

The grimoire turned toward him, seemingly waiting for him to say something.

"Looking back at the time that you tried so hard to contain me here. You must have something you want to tell me, right?"

"Come. With. Me." He gestured. "We. Will. Figure. It. Out. Later."

The boy faced down, he was looking at the floor while saying.

"But. For. Now."

He looked up at the grimoire. He turned serious and his face was very solemn.

"I. Need. To. Go."

The grimoire could feel the intensity, the urgency of his situation.

It flew past really fast. In the blink of an eye it was already at the door that was closed before. It flew up and the mysterious characters flying around it then the door was opened.

"Creakk!"

The boy was slightly surprised. He walked to the door and said as he smiled.

"Let's. Go!"

They came back to the broken big gate in the narrow water passage. It was very quiet. Nothing could be heard except of the boy's footsteps and the sound of dripping water droplets.

"I was somehow ended up here. So there must be some kind of entrance at the end of the passageway. Let's hope it's not far and I was still near the city!" The boy thought. The anxiety could be seen on his face as his steps were getting quicker and quicker by seconds.

The grimoire hovered around and lightly tugged the boy's shoulder. The boy turned his head, he was still in panic. His left eye was bloodshot.

The grimoire landed on the ground next to him. It suddenly stood up with the lower right tip and moved forward with its left tip. Like a walking human.

It moved slowly for several steps and turned around.

The boy was stunned. But then it realized that he had been too anxious.

He didn't know where he was and what kind of danger awaits him.

If he were to move recklessly. He might be dead before he even arrived at the city.

The boy took a deep breath. He slightly smiled toward the grimoire.

"Thanks."

The grimoire understood his meaning and nodded once then hovered around the air again.

"Hey." The boy said, he pointed ahead and continued, "Can. You. Scout. Ahead?"

The grimoire nodded, and flew ahead.

"It really is smart. Now it understands the meaning faster than before." He thought to himself.

He walked ahead, watching his steps carefully. Since it was slippery there. He didn't want to add anymore meaningless injuries.

But the weight on his heart was still very clear. He sighed.

"Please, stay safe guys. I'm coming…"

...

After some time following the water passageway, the boy was used to the darkness. He could see things clearer. Though he still had to grab the tunnel walls for something to hold since it was really slippery there.

His pace was slowed considerably. But he had no choice.

"Shuu!"

"Oh! You. Found. Something. Ahead?" asked the boy while pointing forward in delight.

It was the grimoire. It nodded twice as its page tip was pointing ahead as well.

"...Why. Are. You. Soaked?" The boy was confused.

The grimoire was soaked. Water dripping from its cover. But weirdly enough, the pages were dry.

The grimoire didn't try to tell him, it just tugged on his robe and urged him to go forward.

"Okay, okay! Let's go!"

Not long after, they found them at the end of the passageway. There was nothing except the water wave could be seen coming toward inside the passageway.

The boy looked at the grimoire. The grimoire sensed his gaze and excitedly pointed toward the water.

"Do. You. Mean. This. Is. The. Exit?"

The grimoire guessed what the boy was asking, then nodded and tugged on his robe again.

"..."

"Alright. I'll. Believe. In. You."
