Bio: Born 1985 May 10 Australia. Loud and obnoxious second only to Flux Strider was the life long friend of both Flux and Robert. Early in their childhood Strider was confronted by Bishop over the last ice block in a container during an especially hot Australian summer. The ensuing fight was broken up by Hazard who assisted Bishop as Flux cheered Strider on regardless of Robert trying to shut Flux up.

Though bloodied and bruised the two boys respect each other with the fights result and shared the last ice block as Strider conspired to destroy summer which Flux and Hazard eagerly agreed to assist with. Though their campaign against the unrelenting heat was met with decisive defeat Bishop and Hazard became equally irreplaceable friends alongside Flux, Strider and Robert.

With a conflicted family life that led to a general disregard to authority in not being able to respect either his parents or peers he turned to his friends for guidance in life. Having them around kept Strider from going off the rails or otherwise getting in trouble. Other than some destructive antics driven by Strider with his friends earning a slap his childhood was laced with conflict at home but otherwise manageable with the tranquility offered by his friends.

This tranquility came crashing down the day Flux and Robert were shot. Upon hearing the news both friends had been shot with one dead and the other dying in hospital Strider developed depression shortly after not being able to cope with the loss of his friend. During his teenage years he became incredibly volatile threatening his future with run ins with the police due to his increasingly wild behaviour.

Though only 15 Strider became reliant on drinking, drugs and sex as a way to deal with the shock of having lost a friend and another being left unrecognisably mentally scarred. With Hazard’s constant vigil and Bishop eventually fighting, subduing and dragging Strider out of a drug den as Strider’s addictions spiralled out of control at the age of 17 he was saved from ending up as nothing more than a junkie.

At the age of 18 barely scraping by an acceptable mark to pass his high school career his friends gave him hope that making it through gave him the chance to make something of himself. At the age of 20 Strider convinced his friends to join the army with him motivated with the idea of being taught to protect them like they did him and find something more than bouncing between part time jobs.

Initially Strider was seen as a poor candidate with his initial disrespect for authority and concerning childhood displaying tendencies of addiction. He was screened further if only out of reluctance and results found he was well suited in that he desperately craved for peers he could respect which saw him enlisted alongside his friends. Strider found the army to be everything he hoped it to be in which he found himself underneath leaders he could respect and follow the example of those around him as their equal even amongst his friends.

During training Strider took an immediate appreciation to marksmanship. Focussing only on his breathing and the target he found himself to be calm and relaxed for the first time in years which left him practicing every spare moment of time he had on the range. His enthusiasm for long range shooting saw him lose complete interest in his previous addictions as he performed what could only be described as a ritual in focussing his breathing and aim every day. Such dedication to his shooting saw him specializing in a designated marksman role.

In his duties as a soldier he acquired the callsign Strider for his smooth movements in between shots as he relocated to different positions quickly while maintaining his aim. Upon his squad finding out he was bisexual he was aptly named AHAG by one of the more quick witted soldiers after a crude joke, AHAG being and abbreviation to ‘Any Holes A Goal’. Strider was reprimanded the same day for injuring a fellow soldier earning him and his friends a month in an outpost in the middle of a desert without electricity or amenities.

One notable engagement during an offensive on a town saw Striders squad under heavy fire quickly mounting casualties while trapped out in the open. With expert prowess Strider rapidly eliminated gun teams and other high value targets which allowed the wounded to be moved to a safer location. Though mostly unrecognised by higher ups the squad felt indebted to Strider for his combat skill allowing the recovery of every man from the failed assault and earned the nickname Angel.

3 years into his career Strider started to become disillusioned in the supposed leaders he was server under. He no longer viewed them as respectable peers but simply people who demanded respect rather than earned it which began to bring out his conflict with authority putting his career at risk. His friends however encouraged him to attempt commando selection where he once again found leaders and soldiers worthy of his respect. Once apart of the 2nd commando regiment he developed his marksmanship to become one of the most competent shooters in the regiment.

Though Strider had worked through his issue with authority once more he was beginning to develop an entirely new issue in that he felt himself and more importantly his friends were nothing more than a resource to their country. Keeping his concerns to himself he simply soaked in the grandeur of working with special forces and the respect he felt for them and himself on achieving his position. The constant feeling of his friends being expendable over a mission loomed over him during the night and his resolve was constantly tested by his superiors.

This did not deter SASR selectors who deemed they’d be able to break Strider and make him into the true soldier he aspired to be. Pushing through the rigors of selection proved extremely trying for Strider almost washing out at one point not being able to keep up with the excruciating stress inflicted on his physique. An iron will saw him through to the end alongside the few that still stood and he was accepted into the SASR training program.

The training program ultimately broke Strider but not in the way the SASR intended. Strider intoxicated by fatigue and mental stress became overwhelmed by his disillusionment regardless of his respect for his peers. Eventually he conflicted with a superior who was goading to break him in an effort to test his resolve. The heated argument ended with Strider shouting that he wouldn’t leave his friends to die over a mission no matter how important it was and that the country could go fuck itself. Minutes afterward Strider was quickly discharged from the training program as being an unsuitable candidate leaving nothing for him in the army.
