《I might be Overpowered》Chapter 5 - Bob and Alex

I wake up with a big smile on my face due to yesterday's events but it wasn't long until I remember that white sheets don't go with blood. I look at my bed displeased at the red mark I engraved upon it.
"Well shit. I'm going to have to ask for new beddings. And I stink, I'm gonna take a bath before I go."
I put Martha beside my bed and proceed to the bathroom to take a nice and relaxing bath. I take off my tattered clothing and enter some kind of bath tub.
"Ahhhhh." I let out a big sigh of relief.
"This feels very relaxing."
"Hmm, so what should I do today?"
I then remember the griffin I put inside the infinite storage yesterday and take it out.
"Hey there buddy, are you okay now?
The baby griffin screeches and proceeds to fly and land on my head.
"You really like my head don't you? Hahaha."
"Well nice to meet you, my name is Shi Matsuri. How about you?"
The baby griffin then screeches in response as if to tell me that I should name it.
"I guess I'll name you. How about, Bob?"
The baby griffin screeches in agreement.
"Nice to meet you, Bob! Welcome to the team."
The baby griffin lets out a loud screech as if to say "I'm ready" or "I'm pumped".
After taking a few more minutes in the tub, I decide to get out of the tub and proceed to wash my tattered old clothes in the bath water. In the end only a little of the blood was removed from the clothing.
(These were the only clothes mother gave me. A white shirt, some brown pants and a black cape.)
"I guess I'm going to have to head to the clothing store I saw yesterday."
I proceed to dry myself with a towel and wear my dirty clothes. I leave the bathroom then I take Martha and proceed to place him on my back.
"Are we going now partner?" He says while being full of excitement.
"Yeah! But first I have to buy some new clothes."
Martha Sighs.
I go out of my room and head down the inn stairs. I then go to the reception desk.
"Um, excuse me." I said.
The receptionist seemed to be frozen from fear. So I snapped my fingers so that she would snap out of it.
"Um ah Ye-Yes s- sir?" She said whilst shaking.
"Can you change my bed sheets? It got dirty since I forgot to take off my clothes before sleeping."
"Ye-yes sir..."
"I'm sorry about scaring you yesterday, I did it so the dude would shut up before I got mad enough to kill him."

The receptionist seemed to jump back from what I said.
(I think I just scared her more.)
"Don't be afraid. I only retaliate when I get hit first."
I head out of the inn.
(Fuck, I've always been bad at talking to women. Especially at comforting them.)
I sigh.
I walk towards the direction of the clothing store. The town was bustling once again. I walked through the streets passing the market and the adventurer's guild finally arriving at the store.
"Hello, excuse me. I would like to buy some clothing." I say while entering the store.
The clerk looks at me from head to toe and says,
"You do seem like you need some new clothes, but do you think you can afford it sir?" He asked while glaring at me as if I'm lower than him.
Says the feminine male clerk.
"I have more than enough." I answer slightly pissed off.
I look around and there were some really good designs but I end up choosing some plain and simple ones. I chose a black shirt which looked really comfy, some khaki pants, and a black cape like before. I try them on and they fit me like a glove. I then proceed to put my old clothes into the infinite storage.
(I should imbue these clothes with magic later.)
"I'll take these."
"Ok, sir. That will be 7 gold in all."
I take out 7 gold from my pouch and give it to the clerk.
"Thank you for your purchase." He says.
"Fuck you." I said while walking out the door with a smile on my face.
(I should probably head for the adventurer's guild and get a quest so I can increase my rank.)
I head to the adventurer's guild. I arrive at the adventurer's guild and enter. I head to the notice board.
(Hmm, herb collection, wood chopping, mining... there are no interesting quests here for rank F, well I guess that's to be expected. I guess I'll find some rank S quests and do them instead. Slay a Wyvern, Slay a Mother Harpy, Slay a Giantus Centipede.
(Hmm, the 3 of these seem like good quests. I have to finish them before someone else takes them off from the notice board, huh. I guess I'll just take one and head for the shrine I didn't go to yesterday.)
Slay a Wyvern - A wyvern has taken over Auria's Shrine Cave. That place is a very important part of our village. I would like you to get rid of it so we can continue doing our village's tradition. REWARD 20 GOLD. (The "village tradition" may or may not be an orgy. Auria is the goddess of lust and beauty in this fictional world. - Author)

"I guess, I'll do this."
Suddenly, someone shoves me out of the way and takes the quest paper I was looking at. He then looks at me as if I was a bug and says,
"Quests like these aren't for rank F pipsqueaks like you. Get lost." He says menacingly.
I sigh and smile because I might get my first human kill today.
"Hahahahahaha" I laugh maniacally.
"You think I'm afraid of you, friend?"
"I hate people like you who prey on weaker people's confidence." I said angrily.
"Oh yeah? How about we take this outside and I teach you a fucking lesson!"
"Hahahaha, sure why not?" I answer.
"But first."
I head to the receptionist and ask,
"Can I kill a fellow adventurer inside the city? Will I be jailed for that?"
"Not if it's an official duel." She answers.
"Ok, so how do I make this duel official?"
"You need a guild staff member to watch over the fight. That's it."
"Really?" I answer happily.
"Can you supervise the fight then, Alex?"
"My pleasure. But are you sure? He's an S rank you know." She asks.
"I don't know, maybe?" I answer and smile.
"I'm getting pissed off here F rank pipsqueak. Let's get this over with!"
We head outside the adventurer's guild and Alex announces something.
"I Alex of the adventurer's guild give my consent for this battle to ensue. This will be a battle of whoever submits first or dies, loses. Offensive magic is not allowed. Ready your weapons." She yells.
Suddenly a lot of people stop to view our battle.
(Isn't this bad? These guys might die by accident..)
(Well it's not our fault, partner. They are the ones watching.) Martha assures me.
(Hahaha I guess you're right. Let's do this partner.)
(Enhance Physical)
"The battle begins in 3...2...1... FIGHT!"
The man charges at me but I evade easily and make him trip, I then slice his torso apart from his lower body revealing all his innards. I then proceed to take the quest paper from his now lifeless body.
"The battle is over!" Alex announces.
"The winner is Rank F Shi Matsuri!"
The adventurer's start whispering to each other.
"But wasn't that guy a rank S? How did a rank F defeat him, was he a fake?"
"He wasn't. I've partied with him before and he was really powerful."
"Then how? Jesus. I don't want to mess with that guy."
"Well done, Shi."
"Thank you, Miss Alex."
(I didn't expect it to be that easy.)
(I know, partner. That was boring. Let's go out and kill!) Martha suggests.
(Not now. I have something to do.)
(And what would that be?) Martha asks.
(You'll see.) I answer.
"Someone clean up this mess." Alex stated.
Some people from the guild come out and clean everything up. We then head back inside the guild.
"So miss Alex..."
"Yes, Shi?"
I get closer to her and whisper,
"So how do you know my full name. I never mentioned it." I smirked while letting out all my bloodlust towards her.
She was taken aback and was shaking uncontrollably. She then proceeded to piss herself and said,
"Umm I, I can explain."
"Then explain, Woman." I said while still smirking.
"I- I saw your guild card."
I let out a powerful burst of energy that I directed towards her.
"I don't like liars. So you better tell me the truth before I kill you. Hahaha." I laugh sadistically.
"Lo- look. I- I have the power of foresight. I have visions. I- I dreamt of it, th- the day you arrived. That you were walking with Mead through the city and I heard your name. I- I keep getting visions about you. About how you got that sword and that griffin that's always on your head and that you're keeping your real age hidden. I- I'm sorry if I offended you... I- I can't control which visions I see..." She says while still shaking uncontrollably and sobbing.
(She's telling the truth, partner. I sense her powers. It's the same as mine.)
I cease my bloodlust and energy.
"I'm sorry. Don't cry, I was just curious. Is all. I won't harm you, ok?"
"Hmm.." She answers.
(Jesus. She suddenly became cute.)
"Thank you for supervising the battle, and I'm sorry. I really am. You can call me Shi if you want."
"Mmm, Shi."
(Fuccckkkkk. She is so cute.)
"Well I have to go now so goodbye. Miss Alex."
I try to leave but she grabs me by the arm and says,
"Call me, Allie. It's my nickname. My full name is Alex Resa."
(Oh GODDD the cuteness levels are over 9 thousand!!!!)
"Alright. See ya, Allie."
I see her blush as I leave the guild.
(Ok. That was cute as fuck. But now I have to go and kill a wyvern.)
(Do you know where this "Auria's Shrine Cave" is, Martha?)
(I do. It's five kilometers northwest from the dungeon I was in.)
(Five kilometers northwest... Wait. Could it be the shrine I was headed for is the same? Awesome!)
(It's still 4 in the afternoon, so I still have a lot of time.)
(Let's go partner!) Martha suggests.
"Yeah!" I speak out in excitement.
"Squawkkk." Bob squawks in excitement.

8 160Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
