“Gi-Chan… what kind of quest we will take today?”

“Just shut up and wait!”

Currently, I and Gi-Chan stand still in front of the quest board for 40 minutes. We are Searching for the quest that we can take together this time.

After that night German Suplex 3 weeks ago, Gi-Chan’s personality turn into a frightening one. She always look at me like a mad maiden. I’m too scared to talk to her nor even have a courage to state my opinion in front of her directly. Really, I’m so pathetic.

I think this time too, Rozy-San already playing around the Garden of Paradise, huh.

Not just that, one week after that night tragedy, I meet again coincidentally with Rozy-San at the the Garden of Paradise. From what I heard from Rozy-San, she sneak away from the castle almost every week. Seriously what are the guards doing in there.

“Ok~ lets take this quest for now!”

“What’s that? ‘Dungeon Quest’… Oi! Are you serious?”

“Have a problem?!”

“Nope, lets take them!”

After I got a pierce glare from her, I take the quest without the second thought.

Scary! Seriously what happen to her? I know she mad at me but still… too scary!

25 Bronze coin/ Bats (+10 Bronze for every additional target)

Hmm? From the description itself, it seems an easy quest… not bad

After we re-confirm our quest detail, I and Gi-Chan depart to the Green Cave Dungeon. This dungeon is a simple dungeon that suitable for the newbie like us. The deep of the Green Dungeon is around 5 floor under the ground and the nerd of the Giant Bat is in the third floor, actually a good yet easy mission.

“Then lets, go”

After Gi-Chan said that so energetically, we finally leave the town to go to finish our mission as soon as possible. In the way to the Green Cave Dungeon, we found several monster and they trying to attack us. But, Gi-Chan defeated them without any problem. She uses a claw gauntlet in her hand as her weapon. As for me, I only watch her fight the monster while use my shield ability to protect her body. Just for your information, my cheat ability have a passive effect. That effect is to protect something that I recognize as a precious or important. Of course Gi-Chan is my friend so my passive ability active in her. Really I look like a mob character in here that didn’t even do anything except support and watch her fighting.

“Evrys, We arrived!”

After more than 2 hour walking by foot, finally we arrived in front of the Green Cave Dungeon. As expected from the name, this dungeon is surrounded by the green plant in every corner of its place. Even when we entered the cave, it is like a beautiful indoor forest.

Even we not using any lantern, we can clearly see our surrounding thanks to the green crystal rock that radiate a luminous green light around us.

In our way to go to the third floor, we find a rattle snake, big caterpillar, poison bug, even a madholer. All of them is a monster that frequently appear in this cave. For the monster itself, we can easily subjugate all of them except madholer. They are a little troublesome enemies because madholer can dig a hole in the ground and suddenly appear below us. Every time Gi-Chan trying to attack them, they quickly hide their presence under the ground. Because of that, I use my [Air shield] to cover the whole ground and leave them as they are.

When we finally arrived at the third floor, finally I use my skill to create a weapon [Combine Log – Fishing Rod]. Yes, what I make is a fishing rod. Even it is a fishing rod, it is not a normal fishing rod that you know. This is the fishing rod that I make 3 weeks ago while teaching Rozy-San how to fishing. Because it is still my shield skill, So the defense itself is high and of course I can just swing it like an iron bar for the thug fight to kill the giant bat if the times come.

The giant bat currently are sleeping in the cave ceiling. Their wing is around 2 meter when they spread it open. Even if you got bite, you have a high chance of probability to get a paralyzed because of their saliva.

I think I can’t use this fishing rod for now. After all if they are still sleeping I can use that combo leisurely.

“Because they are still sleeping, I guess it is my combination attack to shine, huh… Gi-Chan”

“Don’t call my name so easily!”

Even I throw my gentle smile to her, she didn’t weaver. Instead she is scolding me while throwing her disgusting look at me.

Seriously! She is too scary!

I approach the giant bat slowly with my [Air Shield – Stair] and make [Air Shield - Box] to trap all of the giant bats in one place. Maybe because they feel my magic essence flowing from my body, the giant bat awake and trying to flee but it is already too late. They already got trapped in my sure kill combo shield in the end. After I make sure the Bat can’t get out from there, I use my [Flame Shield - Bomb] to make a shield that can explode every time I want inside the box. This is one of the 10 attack shield that Mogu give me when I ask him for the attack type magic. The cost itself is to make my hand become numb for 3 hours. So it is not a big deal. When I’m trying to figure this ability, it seems the penalty is just one times a day and after that I can use it for one full day as much as I want and it’s attack ability is great after I combined it with another ability of mine.

[Explode]

After I say the trigger word, the shield explode and make a loud explosion, of course we are safe from the effect because we’re outside the shield box.

While the explosion lost its power, finally I can see a lot of roasted meat of the giant bat. They are splendidly turning into our lunch menu.

Phew~ it seems I finish my task.

I turn my body and walk to Gi-Chan’s place and tell that our lunch… I mean our quest is completed. After she confirm it, it seems we got around 25 giant bat in there. With this I can buy a delicious food for the other kid in the orphanage for dinner.

“Really, if you can use that original magic of yours like that, why you didn’t help me from the beginning”

“Because it is troublesome to get my hand numb like this”

As I said, my hand already took the penalty and became numb. Every time I got this numb feeling, it is make me uncomfortable because I can’t move my hand for 3 hours.

“Then let go back… after we take our lunch”

“Yeah”

After we are finish eating the giant bat roasted meet, we cut the roasted wing and bring it as a proof that we really kill the giant bat for this quest. Just for your information, even the wing already roasted like this, the guild still accept it as a proof for the quest.

But really, this giant bat meat has a taste similar like a chicken meat.

We already take around 3 hours inside this cave. For this kind of quest, 3 hours is a very short time. Because normally, for this Green Cave Dungeon… adventurer usually need around 4 until 5 hours to reach the third floor. After we get outside… it is already afternoon.

We walk back while chatting happily. We chat about what will we buy with this quest reward or what kind of quest will we take tomorrow. That kind of daily chat.

Before we realize it, it is already dusk and I must use my [Air shield - stairs] so we can’t meet any monster around here. The day and night monster is a very different. While monster which appear in the morning until afternoon is not a very powerful monster, but when the night come a lot of dangerous monster will appear around here.

“Ha~ I’m really tired~”

“I want to go take a bath after that rest my body in the bed~”

While we still chat leisurely, that time—

“What is this… rain?”

“Rain? But it smells like iron… blood? Rain of… blood?!”

“What? Blood?!”

—I still didn’t figure it. After we arrived in the capital there is one monster that already doing a massacre festival in there. A monster that can fight me in the same league.
