《Taotuz's Melody》The Monk and Pianoist
Advertisement
Hours pasted while just relaxing on the bench but for Taotuz it was perfect. He wasn't just enjoying his angel in his arms his ears were picking up anything. Tidbits here and there many leading to dings in the background. Most of the announcements were just map updates. Some were temp price increases and decrease in items.

'Mutt! What the hell is that about?' A girl's laughter forms in my head then disappears just as quickly.
I feel movement on my chest and Melody looks up at me and smiles a sleepy smile. "I think it is time to go get our classes. If i stay here any longer i might fall asleep."
She gets up and starts to stretch. I get behind her and wrap my arms around her and kiss her lips. She replies back with a great push of hot air from her nose. Dropping her hands behind me she goes on her tippy toes to kiss me a bit more aggressively. Turning in my arm she pushes me away. "Now off with you. Monsters wont wait for us to slay them."
"Alright Alright, I have a general idea where i am heading to." I poke her stomach, "What about you? Not going to get lost are you?"
"I know exactly where i am going i even set a waypoint on my map so i wont get lost" She seems triumphet and walks away.
'Heading south towards the.... Crafting plaza. Must want to be a blacksmith or a tailor. Doesn't matter I am going to be combat ready. Time to go.'
I turn towards the North section of the city and off I go.

"I miss her already," I start twirling my thumbs. Ok Tao get your head in the game. Time to find the Monastery located at the northern point of the city.
I start heading past streets but mostly it is empty with all the villagers inside waiting for customers. The city is so nice with the smell of fresh baked bread still lingering in the air. The buildings were made in a dark wood on top of stone base. The window frames were made of light wood emphazing you to look into them to see the products on display. A few shops even had the fronts made of glass while others were more modest. The buildings closer to the fountain were 2 stories or more but the closer to the monastery the more buildings were simple one story house with there exterior walls in colors of white, green, red, and browns.

One building close to the monastery was actually 3 stories tall and had a large white picket fence surrounding the building but in disrepair. Kids were running inside the fence with only a woman trying to keep these kids in some type of order. I walk on over and wave at the lady. Waving back she comes over after placing down the child she had in her arms.
"Blessed Day, How may I help you?" A smile that even reaches her eyes appears on her tired face.
"Good Day, I am sorry to bother you but what is this place it doesnt appear on my map?" I will my energy to leave my body and help this tired woman. Her face relaxes just a little.
'Maybe it worked or she knew what i was trying?"
"This is the town's orphanage. I can understand why it wouldnt appear on any map. This is a place you find if you are looking for it." Raising her eyebrow asking me silently if her words ring true.
"I am sorry i was heading towards the monastery to find a monk." I feel ashamed a bit for raising her hope even if it was a false hope.
"We only have one monk in that monastery for several reasons." She peaks my interested. Noticing she explains. "The monk teacher is a female and that monastery only allows female inside regardless of race."
"Any chance i can get in and find the lady to teach me the way of the monk?" Hoping it doesn't involve dressing up as a girl. The Orphanage Lady give me a evil smile.
"Well i do have a wig." She bursts out laughing at my face, "I am just poking fun. Just go in and ask for Alexandra and tell the nuns in there that you are wanting to learn under her."
"Thank you but i have been terrible rude. My name is Taotuz and what may yours be?" I offer my hand for shake.
"Gale. Nurse Gale. One of the only Nurses and Watch Lady left in the orphanage." She holds the title with painful pride. She takes my hand.
"Well Ms. Gale i must go ahead and do the introductions before the sun sets. It was a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." I kiss the top of it and let go and walk off.

'He is watching me' Melody starts slowing down not wanting to leave his sight. After leaving the plaza she took a left heading towards the east section of town. 'I don't want him knowing i am heading to the entertainment district.'

Opening her map she reconfirmed her destination. She starts running while looking around. The buildings in the crafting district were all displaying their goods. Multiple shop keepers were out of their shops talking to customers or other shopkeepers. All the villagers were wearing leather but with all different colors. A couple of guards were chatting up a blacksmith. Their armor was reflecting the noon sun but it was no better then iron. The blacksmith displaying his swords to guard.
'This place is so lively' a couple of the man were at a corner were constructing a new shop. Looking over at Melody and started whistling.
"Hey girl how about I take you around the sun and back." One of the younger man said. Getting his head slapped by an older male.
"Forgive him my lady. The boy is twitterpatted its something in the air of spring." He starts laughing after the boy starts to stomp off.
"Don't worry Spring is always a dangerous season. The more beautiful something is the more potent the poison is." I smile at his shocked face. "Don't worry i am not poisonous but it is a good line to go by."
Waving at the construction work I start to run again. Fifteen minutes later Melody heads into the Entertainment section. Melody's stomach start to make some noise.
'Must be hungry. Open Inventory'
10x Slime Jerky
1x (Full)Water Flask
'Slime Jerky really? Better then rye bread.'
Pulling out the jerky Melody takes a bite, "Slimy yet satisfying" Taking out and eating 2 more pieces to fill her hunger bar and taking a sip from her water flask.
Looking around a couple of corners she finally found the Bard's Guild. Opening the door Melody sees multiple artists stringing and blowing a variety of instruments. Oddly enough some adventures were watching one of the flutist with interested. A girl of 18 years maybe 19 sitting on a bench all alone. Playing a simply song that got Melody's hip moving with the slow tune. Melody walked over to the counter where the clerk was watching the same girl with a dreamy look
.
"Pardon me sir. I hate to interrupt but could you point me to where the instructors are?" The clerk blinked a couple of times blushing and stumbling at being caught he gets up from his chair.
"I am sorry I hope i didn't keep you long. The instructors are in the room to the left of here and on the right is the Instrument Store. Is there any other info i can provide for you?" Melody shakes her head and goes towards this door, "Have a good day."
Before Melody opens the door looking back towards the clerk is already daydreaming at the flutist girl.
'Poor guy never learns I guess.'
Opening the door there are 3 instructors. Two gentleman of 50 years and the other of 35 years. One woman at first glance was about 50 but when you look at her eyes they are deeper then oceans showing multiple generations of knowledge but with a sparkle of mischievous that speaks of a younger generation. Heading inside Melody bows at the instructors.
"Hello my name is Melody and i have come here to be a bard." Coming back up all the instructors are looking at her sizing her up. Then the older gentleman steps forward.
"What instrument can you play. We have Clarinets, Flute, Bagpipe, Trumpets, Tambourine, Guitar, Viola, Violin, and Harp." He counts them on his finger.
"Do you have the piano?" Melody asked. All of the instructors looked at her like she was speaking another language.
"I am sorry this is a Guild for Bards who are on the battlefield." The younger gentleman already turning away to talk the older woman. The older woman brought her hand up to cut him off before he started talking.
"Young lady how do you plan to carry such a huge instrument."
"I apologize but it's the only instrument i have any experience with. Is there anyway i could just sing to give out the buffs." Melody asked with a hint of depression.
"While it is possible an instrument gives a much larger bonus and can be layered with the voice to increase its potency," The older woman pointed out.
"Where I from there is a smaller piano called a keyboard. If by chance i could make such an item would it work with a piano skill." Melody looks at the instructors.
"I won't waste my time teaching her." Said the younger gentleman.
"There will be others who need our instructing and we can not just hope that you will find this keyboard." The older gentleman agreeing with the younger gentleman.
"Then i will teach this young lady the piano." Both gentleman stare amaze at the woman. "What are you fools looking at? This young woman wants to be a bard and you shut your doors because she is a little different? You should be ashamed. You both know how hard it will be to find other people who want to be bards and we turn away somebody who does, shameful."
"Thank you miss. I will work hard to make that statement and you proud." Melody bows at her new instructor.
"The name is Allegro the Violinist. Now lets go to the next room." Allegro guides Melody into the next room.

Raak
James was in his 30's when his death came suddenly, not that he minded much, as life was seeming to drag on. His story, however, did not end with his death. As a point of fact, it had only just begun. This will be my first work, so please by all means comment with any errors I may have made. Suggestions for the story (which may or may not be used). This is a litrpg and a bit of a power fantasy, so be warned the protagonist will be pretty OP eventually.

Young bloods (WIP)
" So-called leaders prostituted their people to wars and abuse. They destroyed families, culture and economies; their hands dyed red by the blood of the children, the families trampled by their lecherous motivations and diabolical war machines. Trained and taught by the Revenants or rather “young bloods” from their war-torn world, we were going to build a better world for us and for the later generations, a world when there shall be no more wars waged over territory, a world where boys and girls can frolic around for all of eternity." -Sasha, Terutan regular army cadet. ‘History is determined by the victors, and here we stand transcended over those who abused us. History is filled with liars, broken promises of eternal prosperity and peace. The more things change, the more things stayed the same: ideology change, location shift but power will always find a place to rest its head. We fought and bled for the adults, the grown men and women who preached of us being their future, preached us of the freedom from tyranny and slavery; no wonder why we hated them so. History is determined by the victor, and there shall be no victors when we’re done.’- Yulia Bronskavya, Red Army Homeguard.
