《The Adventures of the Mask Maker》Gen's Memories Part 1

While the other adventurers are fighting off the bandit and highwaymen army that decided to populate near the ruined Adventurer's City, I decided to go check up on the status of Morian. It seemed that there wasn't any noticeable occurrences from Morian since the Dragon's Invasion. Not wanting to go alone, I took Agaricus with me as I hopped on Blackie. We flew quickly towards the Rainforest Vale. Upon arriving, I sensed something wrong. There is significant disturbances within the trees. As we descended for a closer look, I was utterly shocked. Vines have embedded themselves in small animals and large amounts of life essence are being absorbed by the vines! Morian has gone berserk! He's beginning to eradicated life starting from the weakest creatures! Why does Morian need to absorb life essence? Could he still be injured? And summoning all those dragons was too tasking on him that it further his injuries? This could be a good chance to retaliate.
I probed the forest with my Maker's Essence and suddenly vast amounts of information came pouring into my mind. I screamed in pain startling Blackie. He looked at me questioning, but I waved at him to not worry. Then, I fainted. What seemed like minutes later, my eyes opened. I looked around and knew that I'm not in the outside world. It seemed that I have traveled into a dream-like dimensional space. I walked around and see a tunnel. Walking down the hallway, I saw scenes...memories...posted on the walls. It seemed that the memories were of someone as he or she interacted with Morian. This must be the memories of the illegitimate son!!
..........
Inside the Memories - Morian's son POV....
..........
"Please...he is your son." A woman begged.
"Mother, don't beg him. It's demeaning. If he doesn't want us then so be it. Hmph! I don't even want to be considered as his son." I responded as I glared at the seated figure in front of us.

"Hahaha!" Morian roared with cold laughter. "As expected of a whore's son! Like son like mother, arrogant and doesn't know their status."
"Please sire, its not his fault. He's too young to know better. Please...please take him in." The mother continued.
"Mother! It seems that we aren't welcome here, let's leave." I urged as I attempted to drag my mother out. After a few successful attempts, I was able to take my mother away. "Mother, don't worry. Even without him, we will live happily and without problems."
"I just wanted what's best for you son." The mother sighed.
..........
"Sir, having a bastard child outside is too dangerous to your status." A close servant mentioned to Morian.
"Hmm, you're right. See to it." Morian mused before making his decision.
"As you wish."
..........
"Run mother, run! He's catching up!" I urged as I tried to drag my mother along a mountain pass.
"No son, leave me...I...I can't run anymore." Mother huffed as she tried to push me away. "Save yourself, I'll try t-to hold them off."
"NO! How can I be so unfilial as to leave you to your doom. We're both going to get out of this."
"My son...."
"Say no more, come mother, I'll carry you. That damned bastard. He dared to attack us. I told you he wasn't a good man."
"Haaaa...it seems my eyes were blind. I was too stupid to not realize."
"Don't worry mother. I'll protec-!" I began but a thudding impact smashed into my shoulder and a searing pain coursed through my body. I winced and glanced back. An arrow protruded from my back. The pursuers have caught up. My mother was screaming as she tried to stop the bleeding from my back. Ignoring the pain, I positioned myself in front of her and faced my enemies.

"No where to run or hide. Just accept your doomed fate." A masked pursuer called out.
"Why did Morian want to kill us? We didn't do anything against him." I questioned.
"Just blame it on your birth. Our lord does not like unwanted burdens."
"Haha, so we have become unwanted burdens...."
"Enough of this. Archers, fire!"
Arrows flew forward and penetrated into my body. Luckily, my mother was unharmed. However, what I didn't expect to happen next was due to the immense love of my mother. When another set of arrows came flying towards me, my mother covered my body with hers and took the attack. As she laid dying in my arms, I screamed with utter despair. I looked at the attacks with murderous intent in my eyes. I stood up and charged towards them. *BAM!* The leader of the pursuers slammed his palm into my chest, sending my flying in a bloody mess across several meters and skidded to a stop by the edge of a cliff. Blood spewed out from my mouth as I felt my mind growing weaker and weaker.
"Mother, forgive me." I replied as I jumped down from the cliff into the depths below.
"No!" The attacker ran towards the edge of the cliff and peered down. Because of the height of the mountains, it was near impossible to see the bottom. "You men! Find him! If he's dead, I want to see his body."
"Yes sir!"
..........
"Did you find him?"
"No sir. There was a river below. I reckon he must have floated downstream. But no worries, he was severely injured. Even, if he didn't die from the fall, he will die from the disasters he will face downstream."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Thousand Venom Cave is in that direction. The stream enters the cave via an entrance. There has been known to be many poisonous plants, animals, and insects living in that cave. Poisonous gas permeates the air. It would be impossible for him to live through that."
"I see. I guess this is fine. You guys keep on guard for a few months just in case while I report this to the lord."

Gaia Ark
Commander Coop, a four-armed, power-armored, super-soldier, undertakes a mission to assassinate the head of a religious cult bent on destroying the UPSF and everyone they protect. But no mission is ever that simple. GAIA ARK is an action adventure hero's journey featuring a cranky cyborg, vampiric sword, alien monsters, and enough self-discovery to provide a character arc. It's a little rough around the edges, a little crude. I started writing this story on November 2, 2018. This story is mid-composition. Please expect clunky prose, notes [in brackets], and incomplete...

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
