《The Adventures of the Mask Maker》Special Quest: Search for Civilized Monsters Part 1
Advertisement
After I gathered my materials and finished a few easy gathering quests, I prepared for my expedition to different monster clans. I opened my Maker's Domain and pulled out the preserved Boar Warrior face. I needed to make a Boar Warrior Mask which I can use when I infiltrate a Boar Warrior tribe. I chanted a few incantations while dropping a drop of my blood filled with Maker's Essence. After the quick work, I appraised the simple mask:
Boar Warrior Mask: E-rank
No cooldown
No limit
Transforms user
Stamina Drain 5% per hour
Indestructible
Special Attributes:
Increase all stats 10%
Increase Nature resistances 5%
Finishing, I deactivate my domain and headed west to the forest. My first target is a Boar Warrior tribe. After an hour, I arrived at the forest. Immediately upon entering, I heard a cry for help. I rushed into the forest and sees a young girl wearing a basket and running towards my direction. Behind her were two Boar Warriors. I lunged forward and placed the young girl behind me. Then, I raised my hand up and shouted in Common Bestial Language (common language that all animal-like monsters can speak), "STOP!"
The Boar Warriors halted in surprise. They did not expect a human to know the bestial language. One Boar Warrior walked up a few steps and grunted, "Step aside human. That girl stepped into our territory. Hand her over or we'll kill you too."
"Can't we talk this through peacefully?" I asked as I calmed the young girl down. "I'm sure the young girl didn't mean it."
"Hmph! You humans!...Always want to solve things peacefully and when that doesn't work, you attack." The other Boar Warrior growled.
"I'm sure we can work something out," I negotiated, "We could eve-."
Before I finished my sentence, the Boar Warrior roared, "There is nothing to work out with! My patience is limited! Die!"
The Boar Warriors lunged towards me with their spears raised. It seems that the Boar Warriors could not be reasoned with. There doesn't seem to be any chance of forming a non-aggression pact with the Boar Warriors as they treat humans as inferior species.
With a sigh, I equipped my Werewolf Mask and clawed at the incoming enemies. Due to recent increases in strength and speed, my attacks became stronger and sharper. In a matter of moments, one of the Boar Warriors was killed. The other Boar Warrior froze in panic and fear. It turned around and hurriedly retreated. I didn't want it to alert its tribe, so I pulled out my Skinning knife and hurled it at the retreating figure. *PUCHI* The knife pierced the Boar Warrior's back and it fell to the ground. Bleeding profusely, the Boar Warrior died after some minutes. I pulled out the knife and took off my mask. I walked to the young girl and urged her to go home now. As the young girl ran home, I looked at the dead Boar Warriors and sighed.

"It seems that allying with Boar Warriors is a failure. Turns out I didn't really need to make the Boar Warrior Mask. I guess I should head southwest and look for an Orc tribe."
..........
As I walked through the forest, heading southwest to look for an Orc tribe, I chanced upon a small clan of Lizardmen. Judging from their numbers, they may be the surviving Lizardmen army who participated in the raid against the Demon Orc with us. Not wanting to sour any possibility of negotiations like with the Boar Warriors, I decided to transform myself into a Lizardman first. After becoming a Lizardman, I mixed in with the group of Lizardmen.
While cutting down some trees with some Lizardmen, I tentatively asked, "I heard those hairless monkeys are looking to negotiate and form an alliance with some monsters. Do you think they will come here?"
"Hmph!" One of the Lizardmen grunted, "Definitely not. Even if they come here, we will kill them on sight. Don't you remember? During the attack against the Orc army, we suffered numerous losses from those monkeys as well. We may not attack them without reason, but if I ever find one near our territory, I'll kill it and eat it."
Hearing this and seeing how the surrounding Lizardmen were nodding their heads in agreement, I can confirm that the Lizardmen are a no go as well. While the Lizardmen weren't looking, I quietly slipped away. With no successes so far, I made my way southwest deeper into the forest.
..........
Heading southwest deep in the forest, I came across a small Orc tribe. These Orcs looked different than the Orcs we battled with during the Raid of the Demon Orc. These Orcs are taller than an average Orc, but they appeared to be less muscular - having the body of an average human warrior. On a closer look, many of the Orcs are warriors leading me to believe that this was a small warrior tribe. As I approached the tribe, one of the sentries caught sight of me.
"Who are you? State your business!" The sentry spoke...surprisingly in fluent Common Human Language.
"I am Khaos, an adventurer." I responded, "I'm here as an emissary. I would like to negotiate with your tribe's chief in hopes of forming a lasting friendship between humans and your tribe."

"I see." The Orc grunted, "Don't move while I go notify the Chieftain."
The Orc sentry left while the other sentries eyed my movements. Soon, the sentry came back with a larger Orc who had tribal tattoos all over his face and upper body. The larger Orc looked at me and said, "I am Dalthu, Chieftain of the Half-Orc tribe."
Half-Orcs? No wonder they looked different. I immediately cupped my hands and bowed in greeting. "I am Khaos, an emissary of the Humans. We humans are looking for possible friendly interactions with monsters. I was wondering if we can form a non-aggression pact between your tribe and my guild?"
"You are an adventurer? I heard you attacked many Orcs and even raided one of their strongholds. Is this true?" Dalthu asked.
Nervously, I replied honestly, "Y-yes...is this going to affect our negotiations?"
"HAHAHAHA!" Dalthu suddenly laughed as he heard my confirmation. "No, it won't affect it. Hahaha! Any enemy of those damned Orcs is a friend of mine. Come! Join me for lunch while we discuss more in detail."
After that, the Half-Orc Chieftain walked back to his tent. The sentry next to him urged me to follow. As I enter the tribe's grounds, many Half-Orcs stared at me curiously. As I entered the Chieftain's tent, I see him sitting on some tiger and bear furs. Beside him are two older Half-Orcs - one looked like a shaman, while the other looked like a battle-hardened veteran. An aromatic scent permeated the tent. In the center was a huge bear roasting over the fire.
"Come sit." Dalthu said, "This two are my most trusted - Shaman Gurukk and Warrior Suhgan. They will listen to your negotiations with me."
"Thank you Chieftain." I said as I sit on a pile of furs. "I am somewhat curious...why is that you hate Orcs so much?"
"Hmph!" Suhgan grunted, "Those damned bastards treated us worse than insects! We were practically slaves. Our mothers were humans stolen by them and raped continuously. When we were born, we were beaten and starved daily. Only our mothers treated us nicely."
"Oh, I see." I nodded.
Suhgan seemed to angry to continue so Gurukk finished the explanation, "Orcs are known to value strength above all else. We Half-Orcs strove to prove ourselves to them, but to no avail. Although what we lacked in strength, we made up for intellect and cunning. Soon, some of us were valued by the Chieftain and were given better treatment."
"If that's the case, why did you guys leave and move here?"
"When Orcs are done with the human women, they usually kill them and eat them. This has occurred to all of our mothers." Gurukk grimaced as if recalling a bad memory. "When Chieftain Dalthu saw his beloved mother being eaten, I exploded in anger and seemingly unlocked an ancient Orc bloodline - Wrath's Touch. He led other Half-Orcs and rebelled, killing a lot of Orcs. But because their numbers were too great, we ran."
"I see."
"But enough of this, come, the meat is ready. Let's feast." Dalthu replied.
So, for the next hour, we ate the bear meat until only bones are left. After eating our fill, the Chieftain began showing around his tribe. The Half-Orc tribe is mostly a warrior/hunter tribe, but they have dabbled in Nature and Earth magics. They also possess extensive knowledge in traps as well as medicine. After being shown around, I asked them if they wanted to form an alliance with the Humans. They at first feared discrimination from the Humans, but after some persuasion, they agreed to send their shaman Gurukk along with a few warriors as escorts to discuss details of the alliance.
I led Gurukk and his escorts back to the guild, where he met with Shadow and started to discuss alliance and possibly trade as well. As the negotiations are in process, I continued my quest and ventured east to the mountains.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).

The Last Woman on Earth: A Military Sci-fi Intrigue
A disillusioned military officer and the self-proclaimed ‘last woman on Earth’ embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind a world without women. Second Lieutenant Alexei Vronsky is clinging to his sanity after his comrade was killed in a prolonged siege, but the time for self-loathing and wall punching is over. He finds an intruder in his room, who claims to be a woman—a mythical creature only existed in ancient texts. Against his expectation, she has no wings attached to her back, no laser guns on her shoulders, and not the slightest idea about the endless war between the Republic of Moskva and its vassal states. Suspecting she’s a government experiment, Alexei determines to find answers to the impossible existence of women. However, the deeper he digs into the dark, the further he realizes there’s more to the eternal war than he’s allowed to know. And the sooner he can stop the cycle of needless deaths the better, before he's shut down. Permanently. [Apart from being a war novel, this story is also a progression fantasy. The MC will get stronger, acquire more special abilities and fighting gears. They come later in the story, though.]

Anti-Hero: Journey of Fear
There is a story where the hero makes friends, completes quests, and saves the world. This is NOT that story. In the VR world of Fate: Experience Acute Realism, the main character cuts his way through both the players and NPCs alike. This story takes a close look at how a true full immersion VR would be played. The setting is an open VR world where the players struggle to survive with a lack of knowledge and the NPCs panic in regards to the Travelers invading their world. The anti-hero of this story is cold and calculating. Sparing no one from his reign of terror he gives into occasional bouts of kindness before he is forced back on the path of blood and tears. For where there is a hero who seeks to bring people together to help the world move forward, there is an anti-hero who brings people together to seize the world for himself. WARNING: This story contains extreme violence, in every single chapter. This story contains references to sex, but no explicit scenes. This story has light to mild swearing. My chapters normally range from 4,000 to 5,000 words. This story does not contain happy endings, middles, or even beginnings.
