Thank you for reading Acheron. I hope you enjoyed it. I originally meant it to be novel length, but it turned out a little shorter than expected. I believe this was my third writing project, if memory serves me right.
Technically this is a space opera sci-fi story, but in the edit I added a few lines about magic and mages, to make it a low fantasy instead, since that’s what I’m interested in writing. The tone of this is a lot different from most my other pieces—mainly in the level of profanity that I used. I was going more for a sort of rough and tough, rated R type setting. I don’t know how well I hit that mark, though.
If you would like to read anything else by me, I have several completed projects here on Royal Road. Wakiagaru is a full 436 pages. And if you think Acheron moves fast, wait until you read that! It’s a much heavier fantasy setting with a lot of Japanese themes.
Also, I’ve just uploaded the prologue to Blackwood Company. It’s a grimdark sword and sorcery novel with both low fantasy and high fantasy elements. If you’re interested, check it out and give it a follow. I’ll be releasing chapters on that every day until its completion. It’s about 25% longer than this story.

Plants and trees were growing once again all over the world; the making of downtown urban cities and cars was banned; therefore, all the human-made chemical ozone depletion stopped. Consequently, allowing the planet to produce more magic; giving people and animals more magic-flow that they could use and inherit. Unfortunately, this massive increase of magic produced by the planet also awakened a slumbered entity that was sealed off millions and millions of years ago by archangels. It made a group named, 'Black Tombstone' whose objective is to kidnap people and drain them of their magic to recover the entity's power back to its prime. Many humans and other mystical creatures have been suffering by the uprising of this terrorist group. A smart guy named, 'Rukito' is caught up in all of this; he gets targeted by one of the members to die, since his parents are one of the wealthiest people in Greenterra, and one of the few that know how to work and develop magic. While this is all happening, a new member is adopted into his family, a mysterious girl named 'Kasai' that is distant and reserved is now living with him in this colossal mansion, making matters even worse. Vol.2He starts uniting a group of people to start the search for the divine gemstones, each one of them having a tragic but hopeful past. The Animo Saga
Before history was well-recorded in the world of Ulakam, primordial animal spirits adopted humans, provided protection and developed deep spiritual connections with them. Millennia later, humans now host animal spirits and are split into tribes named for the species they host. Ulakam is slowly being consumed by a decades-long war pitting the main tribes against the smaller tribes and a group of bandits calling themselves "the resistance". Callida Animo was born into this world. Coming from a mixed family of generational soldiers, Callida joined the family business at a young age. In her words, she was practically bred, born, and raised to be a soldier. And she's good at what she does... which inevitably attracts attention that makes her unambitious self extremely uncomfortable. Love, loss, influence and growth. This is her story. Written episodically, this story focuses on relationships and character growth through a series of mini-arcs that connect to make a greater whole. (Honestly, the story would lend itself well to a TV series.) "Episodes" range from 3-7 chapters (at least so far), and average about 4 or 5 chapters.
