《Born with an Innate Technique in Jujutsu Kaisen》First mission Part 1

A few months have passed and Katsuo was very impressed with Tokyo Jujutsu High, they had everything there and the curriculum was better than he expected.
He thought they would only learn about curses, ways to exorcise them, how to contain cursed items or people, etc. Instead, they also had the classes that a high-school student would normally have and the teacher, who were all sorcerers, were all competent at their job.
Their dormitories were also well equipped. Each person, like the anime, had a spacious room with a cozy bed, which Katsuo didn't use very often for sleep, since he didn't need to do it except for relaxment purposes. It might not seem like much but if you constantly keep your brain "fresh", it gradually taxes your mental health, so he sleeps on average once a week to maintain it.
Over the past months, Katsuo and his classmates became closer and could be considered friends, which is normal since they interact, train, and learn together almost every day.
Katsuo has watched their development and had to say that he, at first, was a little disappointed, but he soon realized that he was being arrogant by applying his ridiculous standards to them. His standards that were supported by the consumption of curse pills, training since he was born, and innate talent that even impressed Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer.
So he put away his arrogance and tried his best to help them improve, be it by sharing his experience of controlling CE, which is one of the best in the Jujutsu world, very close to the users of [Six Eyes] and [Limitless], or by serving as a training dummy that improves, especially to Maki. Right now, because of his physical advantage, he can fight toe to toe with her.
He also thought about sharing his pills with them but gave up on second thought. They still weren't close to the point where he could share one of his most important secrets.

Today, Katsuo was training early in the morning in the school gym. It was to his great surprise when he first saw the machines that could even push someone with superhuman strength to the limits and to his even greater surprise when he saw that it was fully technological, not even an iota of CE was put into the machine, and that was not what he expect from a jujutsu school but that was just his prejudice. Thanks to them and his positive energy, he could feel and see himself become more solid and buffer without feeling much pain. No pain, full gains, just how he likes it.
Seeing that the time was getting tight, he went towards the cafeteria to eat with his friends. Even some seniors were there but they didn't have a relationship with most of them, it seemed that each class formed a different closed clique, meaning that kept it for themselves. He didn't really mind, after all, they weren't a lot but most of them had weird personalities and one or two were full of themselves just because they belonged to some sorcerer clan.
They finished breakfast and walked towards the classroom building. When they arrived someone, instead of the usual teacher, somebody else was already waiting for them.
Assistant Director Ijichi Kiyotaka, lightly bowed to them and said.
"How are you, first years students? I'm here to assign you a mission which I will share the details when Gojo-san arrives."
After he said his piece, he retreated to the side. Everybody was pretty chill when they heard that. Nobody here was totally inexperienced about those matters and they knew it would come sooner or later so they didn't worry, but I would have preferred it to be two weeks later because by then his Binding Vow would be over and there would be less chance for accidents to happen.
As usual, Gojo was late so they started talking.

"What grade curse do you think we will encounter, guys?"
Maki asked and Panda answered.
"Hmm~, based on how powerful we are it will probably be a grade two, no?"
"We still don't know what is the nature of our mission, it could be to exorcise, but it can also be reconnaissance, escorting, etc."
Katsuo said which Toge agreed.
"Shake!"
"Hey, Ichiji-san~, you must be busy, and Gojo-sensei is late so you could tell us now and we will tell him what you said."
Panda requested and the assistant director made a helpless face and was going to say something when another voice, whose owner I had already sensed a while ago, was heard.
"Sensei was put aside by his students, how sad!"
Said Gojo as he sauntered in with his hands on his pockets and his white bandage blindfold over his eyes.
Seeing him, Ichiji's face became relieved and he greeted Gojo.
"Hello Gojo-san, I'm here to assign a missi..."
"Oh~, good work Ichiji, I was already informed so you can just make the preparations to go."
"Good work Ichiji-san."
Katsuo echoed after Gojo as he lightly bowed to him. Katsuo felt something weird about him like he was more powerful than he appeared to be.
(AN: Just in case he really is, if he isn't I'm going to make him.)
"If that's so, allow me to be excused."
Knowing that he waited for nothing, the depressed assistant director excused himself before exiting the classroom.
"So, students, our mission is to retrieve a cursed item, a mirror to be exact, we depart in about an hour. Don't forget to go get the stuff that you need."
"Can you give us more information, Gojo-sensei? How difficult is the mission going to be?"
Katsuo asked and it seemed to reflect the curiosity and doubts of his classmates.
"Hmm~, I don't really know anything, it could be nothing or a lot!"
Said Gojo dramatically but Katsuo knew that with TJH information network they would have to know something and it was probably because of that that he interrupted Ichiji earlier, but he didn't insist, after all, Gojo probably had everything under control.
They, except Panda who didn't need anything, could only go prepare their belongings while keeping the curiosity in the back of their minds.
---
All four of them were standing next to a van, ready to go and waiting for their "caretakers".
They traveled light in regards to personal items but Maki had a gym bag with her cursed weapons and Katsuo brought his combat fist and shin guards which he regularly imbues with CE during his training and his cursed knife that was kept in his back with the handle pointing down.
Soon Gojo, together with a woman that he recognized from the anime, arrived and she introduced herself as she bowed.
"Hello, guys, my name is Nitta Akari, an auxiliary manager at TJH, I will be your guide in the mission, I will be in your care from now on."
We bowed back and respectfully said back.
"Please take care of us, Nitta-san."
We entered the van but Gojo stayed.
"I have something to take care of, so I will see you there~!"
They nodded and said goodbye.
Katsuo was a little envious because he knew that Gojo was so laid back because he could simply teleport there and that's probably why he wasn't going with them.
'I hope one day I could be like him and treat hundreds of kilometers as a distance a few seconds away, maybe I can develop a technique like that someday!'
With that thought on his head, the van departed for a few hours' trip.

Shift (Ben 10+DCU Fanfiction)
Omnitrix+ DCU, what's not to like? The main character will not be Ben Tennyson, rather someone from our world who gains the Omnitrix Hello! This fanfiction Shift is what I wanted to do for an homage to what I thought were underrated pieces of media, Ben 10 and some DCU characters. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add context to two of the major works that inspired Shift, Dial, and A Practical Guide to Evil. Dial is another ben 10 fanfiction, however that story takes place in the MCU, and with an adult that is already a grown-up at the beginning of the story. Dial, by my own accounts, is more superficially Like shift, even though the Omnitrix is a central device in both. My protagonist starts out around 18 years old, so is less serious and can build relationships with some of the junior justice league members, and then later on in the story meet the Justice League officially. The tone will be more light-hearted at the beginning of the story as teenagers are known to use sarcasm and jokes at each other’s expense. Furthermore, in Dial, the protagonist has a well-developed knowledge of the MCU which he uses to have knowledge on events and characters, that the character in Shift will not have. While the MC will have some knowledge of people's abilities, lesser-known characters and people's real identities will be not included as much, but the MC of Shift will have some knowledge. APGTE's influence is deeper than Dials'. The epigraphs at the beginning of every chapter are an example of that, a place for light-hearted jokes and worldbuilding that's not pure exposition, but I also want to incorporate narrative stories to Shift (heroes win more than lose, providence, etc) on a lighthearted scale. While the heroes of Shift will have to work to win against villains, the MC of Shift will be allowed limited precognition, through narratives tropes and archetypes as a trade-off of less knowledge of the DCU. For example, a villain a hero faces might monologue, but the MC will not instinctively know how to counter every villain they encounter. I also wanted to bring in more realism than usual superhero stories, ie: the MC cannot just walk and have a meeting with Batman or Superman, he would have to “work his way up” in terms of credibility and whatnot. The Aliens that show up in Shift I tried to make different than the ones in Dial, just to share the love for lesser-known characters. And to make it fairer for the villains of the DCU, the main character will not wantonly use if gain at all an Alien X or a ben 10 form of Kryptonians, just so the characters have to work a little bit for victory. I urge anyone reading to consider checking out both APGTE and Dial as they are both amazing works, and I hope you enjoy them. The beginning of how the MC enters the DCU will not be as important as him actually existing in that universe, so that is why a ton of time is not spent on that part of the story. Chapters will be around 2.5 thousand words and come out around every weekday.
