《Born with an Innate Technique in Jujutsu Kaisen》Early Years Part 1

Tetsuo Katsuo, that's Kevin's new name.
It has been one and a half years since he woke up in a baby's body, and at first, he felt lost, after all, the last thing he remembered was getting sucked into the void as a soul after a giant fist broke through space, and after seeing something like that, it's relatively normal for someone to question life and existence itself.
But then humanity's adaptability shone and he just shrugged, he always knew that humans were but a speck of dust in the Universe, pardon, it's probably Multiverse, and after seeing all that, it just got a little bigger, but humans remain the same.
' Or maybe, humans are not really the same, or maybe, I'm not the same as the rest, after all, I don't remember seeing these creepy beings of various shapes and sizes crawling around, that are invisible to apparently everyone but me. '
Katsuo thought as he looked at a small, creepy, and crooked chameleon-like thing crawling in his room's ceiling.
' Well, it's most likely that I'm the special one. '
Concluded Katsuo before a speck of black energy gathered in front of his finger and launched itself at the crooked being, creating a hole in its neck, and making it disperse.
When he first saw this kind of monsters, Katsuo cried and shat himself, literally, well, he was a baby so he couldn't really control it but it still scared him, and when his mother came to help him, he noted that she couldn't see it and the creature wasn't really aggressive so he began to observe it and try to understand why he was the only one to be able to do so.
He didn't discover anything in the first weeks so he was becoming pretty frustrated and was close to giving up but one day, one of these creatures crawled into his crib, and at that moment he felt a plethora of negative emotions, disgust of the ugly creature, fear of the unknown, angry at his powerlessness, he just wanted to slap it way and so he did, a dark energy surrounded his left arm, and his arm that shouldn't have enough power or speed to do that kind of movement, slapped the monster to bits that splattered all over his wall, before it melted in the atmosphere, restoring the previous immaculate appearance of his room.

He was stupefied for a while but that was the breakthrough he needed.
He turned his research attention from these moments to himself and soon discovered the dark energy that responded to his negative emotions.
After months of research and training, he called it, Negative Energy, due to it responding strongly to negative emotions and those creepy monsters, Negative Beings, due to only being able to interact with them with Negative Energy.
He also tried to train his control of NE in various ways and concluded that emotional control is essential to manipulate NE, followed by a strong image or intent of the shape and purpose, but he realized that NE had limitations in its use, or he didn't have enough mastery to pull things more complex like creating fire or sharpen NE, which is probably the case, until now he learned to enhance his physical ability, which he didn't do a lot of times because he didn´t know if it had bad side effects on the human body, create a shield over his skin, fire it like a projectile and some other minor applications.
"Katsuo, it's time for the potty"
Katsuo paused his training and took a deep breath, put on a solemn face, and said.
"Ok, letsh go, mama"
His mother was a very pretty but otherwise normal japanese woman, she had moderate assets, not too big nor too small, almost perfect skin, and big, pretty eyes with a dainty nose underneath.
"Oh my cutie, looking all serious"
Said Tetsuo Akiko, Katsuo's mom, while pinching his cheeks.
She was very proud and a little bit sad at how quickly her baby has been developing.
This past year, Katsuo tried to make his growing process not freakishly quick, only moderately advanced, after all, he wanted to be treated like a normal child, not a prodigy, because he wasn't one, his only advantage over other children was his past life memories but that doesn't improve his intelligence, only his knowledge, or at least that's what Katsuo thinks, the truth is that after his soul was tempered in the void, perfect recollection is only one of the perks he gained but because Katsuo didn't actively use them, he didn't notice it he possesses them.

As his mother took him out of his bed and hugged him against her bossom, he remembered about his first year, the year where babies are breastfed, it wasn't that bad actually, he wouldn't miss it of course, but it was very different from the point of view of those beta Japanese MCs or those perverts MCs in the web novels Katsuo used to read, it was uncomfortable the first time but he got used to it.
After he was done with the potty, his mother took him to the living room where she played baby toy games with him, she told his father it would help his development, and it does indeed, while he physically played with them, like fitting the shaped block int the shaped hole, he also controlled his NE to do the same, every toy had their own NE training regime so he genuinely enjoyed it a lot, which also made his mother very happy. A win-win situation he would say.
*KatchAk* (AN: my interpretation of the sound a key makes unlocking the door)
"I'm back"
"Welcome back, dear"
"Papa"
Katsuo's father, Tetsuo Asushi, is a tall Japanese man, with an honest-looking face, he wasn't that handsome, but he was pleasant to look at, he was wearing a formal suit, seeing that he's relatively high ranking personnel at a marketing company, he must look presentable when he's at work.
"How are my precious treasures today!?"
Katsuo's father asked as he picked Katsuo up and hugged his mother, squashing him in between.
As he lived with them, Katsuo actually noticed something that he thought was a bit embarrassing, funny, and cringe and it doesn't show signs of decreasing at all, and it's actually showing signs of increasing, and that is.
That they are corny as hell.
They say these sickening sweet things to each other and to him all the time, it's almost been two years and Katsuo's still not used to it, but he thinks it's not that bad and he secretly enjoys it because it makes him accept them as his new family very easily so that he can move on from his previous family that he'll probably never see again.
' It has been a minute, when will they stop hugging ?!?!'

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!

Shadow Falls
If you wanted to protect someone you loved, how far would you go, and what would you be willing to sacrifice? This question is at the core of this emotional rollercoaster of the book, Shadow Falls: the Rise and Fall of Erida VanIsle. This book emerged from four years of collaborative storytelling centering on the main character, Erida VanIsle, written by author Myra VanIsle. In this book, VanIsle goes beyond the events that led to Erida's sacrifice and explores forty-five years of the cost she paid to protect the sister she loved more than life itself. Shadow Falls explores the family tragedy which led to the separation of two sisters on completely different paths polar opposite of each other. While Erida set upon a path of darkness and power, Myra set out to be a beacon of light and hope bringing justice and peace to others. Be warned, the story VanIsle tells is dark and not easy, because you can't have the light without the dark.
