《The Digital Dungon》Chapter 4

One of my viewpoints focuses on the wall where Cal is pointing. I am curious about the surface and these adventures. However, I will need to be extremely cautious about how I go about this. I can NOT trust Cal or this system, but I may be able to find a creature I can trust out in the open world. With that hope in mind, I begin to absorb the wall.
I make my first tunnel three meters tall by two meters wide. Pushing it deeper into the ground as I assume Cal wants me too. When I reach the 10 meters mark, I stop my progress so I can ask Cal a question.
"How long do I need to make these tunnels?" To my surprise, they are laying on the ground."Um, Cal?" I think they are asleep. We were talking for some time before I began my dungeon building. That must have taken quite a bit out of them. Its good to know that they need to sleep. I can plan for when they decide to betray me. Maybe I can find something to help me in my escape endeavor within my status screens. I open up my base Status Screen first.
Name: Yggdrasill
Race: Core
Class: Dungeon(Digital)
Level: 1
Aura: 274
Wait, I have a lot more Aura then before. I know I should get some every day, but that is a big leap. At least it feels like a lot more than I should have. I shouldn't complain, though. With this amount, I can buy some powers without wondering if I am going to mess up somewhere. I close my status screen before opening up the Powers and its buy screen.
Powers Cost Level Exp Summon Digiegg 5 Ap 1 1/10 Create Digital Portal 10 Ap N/A N/A
Nothing has changed with my powers this time. It makes sense for them not to have since I have not used any Powers after my first Digiegg. I will deal with it after I have completed my Dungeon. Hopefully, the egg is close to hatching soon. For now, I will see if I can't get any new powers. Done, I look at the buying section.

powers Description Cost Item Creation Enables the production of simple Items 25 Aps Trap Creation Enables the creation of simple traps 25 Aps Aura Manipulation Allows the manipulation of Aura beyond primary control 50 Aps Magic Item Creation Enables the Creation of Magical Items and Traps
Need Item or trap creation
Needs Aura Manipulation
Item and Trap Creation's description make the two appear, as they say, simple. Even though they only cost 25 Aura Points, I don't want to waste even that many points on a seemingly useless power. Deciding to try some more research, I focus on Item creation to try and get a more in-depth look into the Power.
Item Creation: Enables a Dungeon to use its Aura in the creation of non-magical Items. The Dungeon will have to discover the item's structural blueprint and provide the materials for its production.
The Dungeon will gain the Coin and Ore blueprints at the time of purchase.
So even if I buy Item Creation, I will only be capable of making Coins and Ores. Those two items are not useful in any way. I will defiantly skip this particular Power. I close the screen and then focus on Trap Creation.
Trap Creation: Enables a Dungeon to use its Aura in the creation of non-magical Traps. The Dungeon will have to discover trap blueprints and provide the materials for the setup.
The Dungeon will gain the Spike and Boulder blueprints at the time of purchase.
I only gain two traps with this Power as well. These, on the other hand, I can see how useful they will be in my defense. I buy Trap Creation after closing the information screen. A new prompt appears in my view, without any of the boarders I have started to become accustomed.
Congratulations on purchasing your new Power. The system hopes you live long and enjoy yourself.
What the hell is the system talking directly to me now? No, if that were going to happen, then there would be no reason for me to have summoned Cal in the first place. This message must be a one everyone will get. I only hope this doesn't happen on all of the Powers after my purchase. I look at the shop and notice that Trap Creation is no longer there. I quickly decide to look at my Power Screen once I have finished with this one. There is no reason for me to get sidetracked. I focus on the next Power I am interested in acquiring.

Aura Manipulation: A Core will be able to manipulate its Aura in new ways.
Well, that explained absolutely nothing. I don't want to waste my time figuring out what or how I can use Aura Manipulation. Sadly, I will need to acquire it for the next Power. Magic Item Creation is obviously an upgrade for both items and traps. I open the last Power in the vain hope that it will be of a higher quality then these first three.
Magic Item Creation: Using Aura Manipulation, the Core can infuse both Items and Traps with Aura from the world to craft magical versions, giving them new properties.
Can not infuse Coins with Aura.
These all seem useless. Why would I even need a magical version of a boulder? It would just crush whatever I sent if after. I am done with this nonsense.
I look over to Cal, who is still asleep. "Cal," I yell. "I need to ask you some questions for my Dungeon. Wake up, you lazymon."
I notice Cal's body move. Sitting up, they stretch out both tiny arms, yawning in the process.
"Good now that you are awake," I begin. "I have already dug the first tunnel about ten meters out. How much further should I dig before creating a room."
They look toward me, blinking in a with a slow rhythm. "What," Is all that Cal says to me before staring.
I repeat my question with a little more irritation this time.
They continue to stare at my body. I can't tell if Cal is thinking or just did not understand me this time either. Before I can try to snap them out of whatever sleeping state they are obviously in, they begin to speak.
"That is your decision. I do suggest not having a straight shot to this room, but otherwise, you are the one in charge of crafting your hallways, rooms, treasure, and traps." Calumon's ears spread out from their head. The pair flap slowly and bend at odd angles. "I am here to help with any questions about the system and to keep you company when no adventures are about."
"Well, I guess if you don't know what my layout should be, I will have to continue along in the dark." I see Cal shake their head at my words. Ignoring them, I begin to dig out my Dungeon once more.
Starting at the end of the hallway, I make a T-section. I go down both sides about five meters before I realize how split my perception is at this moment. This seems useful; I wonder what the limitations on it will be for myself. I continue two more meters. I decide this is good enough for my next two rooms. I am about halfway through them when Cal gets my attention.
"Yes, Cal did you need something," I ask, surprising myself with how I was not angry at them.
"I wanted to let you know that the Digiegg is moving." They point at the mysteries egg. Excitement spreads through my Core at finally getting to see what is in this damn thing.

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer?
