Inside the land of Oblivion.

“How did you die?” Asked a neutral voice that seemed to exist, but at the same time made any living person who heard it feel nauseated from confusion as it didn’t have a presence at the same time.

A phantom form of the four armed gorilla kneeled before a spire of green light that shot into the depths of the sky, with the consequence of the reflection of the light to spread into the surrounding desert. Numerous other indistinct phantoms were in the same situation as they also kneeled speaking to the spire. When they finished, they would either enter the spire of light for reformation, losing their memories for the chance of becoming stronger, or leave directly into the sands for rebirth of their old bodies before reentering the Land of Trials, the world where Tus was in.

“I chased after an escaped deity of Oblivion and was obstructed by mortals with my weak form.” The gorilla replied hoarsely, the sound also acting like it didn’t exist.

“I keep track of all of the deities that were born here. Are you sure?” The voice asked with a hint of interest.

“Yes. The unique characteristic of World Rejection proliferated around his body, however it was weak and he doesn’t seem to consciously control the awakened power that he has.” The gorilla explained.

“Hmm… a new deity?” The light of the spire fluctuated and a formless pressure placed itself across the land. It made some areas of sand to swirl into whirlwinds while causing all the phantoms and corporal creatures to shudder and do kneeling postures out of fear. “I see.” The voice came to a realization that was full of surprise, “Such a rare thing happened. It was a crippled mortal who came from the Land of Trials seeking power, nothing new there, but he actually survived for a long enough period to succeed in his first trial, allowing the land to burn into his body. I knew someone entered a while ago, but I didn’t expect that he succeeded. This new deity will go through the trials that no one has activated for countless years…”

The light around the spire fluctuated again. This time, a cone shaped image appeared, surrounding the spire with a young man sleeping on a golden laced couch.

“Alright, as you have given me something to watch, I’ll give you any request you want concerning your revival.” The voice resounded strongly, causing faint ripples to go through the air.

“Demon of Oblivion, I just want to be reborn as something strong with my memories intact. Maybe as strong as I was when I was a deity…” The gorilla asked looking down.

“I’ll do so… generously.” The voice said. Afterward the surface of the spire writhed, rippled to a single point, and a black beam shot out, striking the gorilla’s phantom. The phantom writhed and painfully wailed as it transformed into an egg which grew bigger and bigger. The spire fluctuated once more and the egg was wrapped by a green energy and disappeared. The egg continued to grow in the place it was sent to until it stopped and the egg solidified into an orange color, with a height at over a 100 feet. After a moment, the egg turned into a web of cracks that shown light coming from the inside as a powerful roar sounded, causing the land to tremble.

…………

“Ahh!” An unnecessarily loud yawn echoed in the living room. Through the windows, beams of sunlight flowed in almost like water. In the early morning light, not a speck of dust floated in the room that was meant for the high class.

“Be quiet!” A tired, aggravated voice sounded out of one of the bedrooms before the door was opened to a disheveled Shel angrily looking at Tus who rubbed his eyes. “All night long, you incessantly spoke in your sleep about depressing things, and I couldn’t sleep at all.” Signs of wear and tear shown as dark circles on Shels’ face spoke the truth.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t control my nightmares.” Tus replied helplessly.

‘I thought I saw that monster again... with one of those annoying light towers.’

“Next time, we’re moving the couch next to Worills room… I’m going back to sleep.” Shel shook her head as she shut the door. Before the door closed she said quietly, “Good morning.”

Tus sighed before he shot straight out of bed (couch), “Now, I’ll use the restroom, eat breakfast, and wait right here.”

“No one needs to know what you are doing! Stop talking to yourself!”

“Sure… Now, where do I go for the complimentary breakfast.” Tus talked to himself, accidentally.

After three hours.

Tus sat impatiently on a side of the folded blankets on the couch. He was fully dressed and had already eaten breakfast, but after three hours, no one else made any movements at all.

He looked at the large clock across the room which read 8:01 and shot up from the couch again.

Maybe, this is a chance for me to study the layout of the city.’ Realizing this opportunity, he grabbed a piece of paper and a quill. He wrote a note explaining that he would be gone for an hour and that he would be exploring the city.

In one excited, rushing motion, he flew out of the room, and before he knew it, he was on the streets of Frior looking about the busy streets. He sung an old nursery rhyme to choose a direction and went to the right.

Following the crowd, he looked at different shops that sold everything from humble farmer seeds to cold blooded military equipment. All of which fascinated him as he hung his head closely at the display windows before being chased off by annoyed shop keepers.

“Where am I?”He walked the streets for an hour before he came to the conclusion that he was lost.

There were no signs or foot traffic that were evident. There was even a chill of desolation hanging in the air that made the area seem gloomy.

“I guess I’ll head back to the inn… although how do I get there again?” He scratched his head and as soon as he was about to turn around, someone screamed in a high pitched voice, “Help!”

It was a little boy with blond hair and green eyes, about seven years old. He wore clothing that was heavily decorated in obscure symbols that was clear at first but blurred as someone looked at it, forgetting what the symbol was. Despite the decoration, there was evidence struggle as some of it was damaged. When the boy saw Tus, his eyes shined in hope as he cried, “Mister save me!”

Turning around the corner, two people in concealing clothing were chasing after the boy. Their eyes glowed in malice and their faces carried heavy frowns as they quickly gained in distance.

“I have no choice.” Tus couldn’t help but decide aid the boy. Seeing such straits with the people chasing him, filled Tus with dissatisfaction, and reminded him of the constant chases of the monsters. Other than that, the boy reminded Tus a little of his own childhood.

Tus retreated behind a corner out of sight after signaling for the boy to lead them to the spot. Soon, the boy came around with the pursuers close by. In a flash, Tus kicked off the ground and landed briefly on the alleyways’ wall. From there, he jumped off like a grasshopper off grass, and turned his body. Using the centrifugal force, he landed his shinn on the head of one of the men. That man only saw a wave of stars as he crashed into the ground unconscious with a swell coming off of his head. Tus knew that he only had a limited amount of time before the other one activated his internal energy, which would spell a one-sided defeat. He threw out a quick punch aiming at the other man’s throat who was following closely behind the first.

The other man could barely react before Tus’s fist struck his throat, just strong enough to make him paralyzed in pain, and not enough to crush his windpipe. Tus followed with a punch at the man’s stomach, making him bend over and then kicked his jewels, while hitting the man’s jaw, making him incapacitated. In the brief moment he was still awake, he almost wished he was dead.

“Hey kid, are you okay?” Turning around in a cool and stylish fashion of a hero, Tus asked the dumbstruck boy.
