Chapter 16-Traveling to the Dusk Kingdom
Madam Garcy stayed at her residence in the past couple of days after the incident happened. It was also a while since the Duke returned to the household. She was expecting that he would barge into her residence and punished her for disobeying his command, but none of it happened.
Garcy felt terrified in these past few days. After her experience, she understood that the girl at the west wing was a Mage. She had an unexplained aura that would make everyone shudder.
Whenever she slept during the night, she would suffer her share of nightmares about her. The way that bitch placed pressure on them and thrown them outside the Moon Palace was still vivid in her memories.
But Garcy felt that the Duke still placed great importance on her status, considering that he did not move against her. So, Garcy told the servants who went with her to keep their mouths shut. Kale and Anishina were so worried when she fell sick and kept on asking about her well-being. But, she assured the two of them that she was okay.
She smiled viciously and stood up from her chair, and walked towards the door. She planned to visit the Duke and reported what she found. She doubted that Gerald knew about it. She will make sure that that psycho will be kicked out of this household the soonest as possible.
--------
The Duke's study room.
Duke Gerald was currently reviewing some of the documents stack on his table. He was holding his quill and about to write something when he heard one of his servants announced and informed him that Madam Garcy would like to have an audience.
"Let her in." He replied as he started to write something on a piece of paper.
Madam Garcy then entered his study room and faced him. He stared at her and waited for Garcy to state her piece.
"My Lord, you don't know what you brought in this household," she opened her mouth to deliver her script.

Gerald raised his brow, placed down the quill, and waited for her to continue.
"The girl that you brought in this household is dangerous. I went to visit her with my good intention, but that girl, that girl," she sighed and acted concern, "I don't know where did you pick her up but as your wife, I am concerned about the well-being of everyone here."
Garcy paused for a while, then continued.
"My Lord, I may suggest that you sent her out right away."
Gerald casually pick-up some of the documents on the side then spoke after a while.
"You visited her?" He asked, then raised his head to looked at her eyes, "But as far as I remember, I 'specifically' mentioned that everyone except me is allowed to visit the Moon Palace. Don't you remember my words?"
Garcy flinched but still maintained her composure and calmly answered.
"My Lord, I am part of this household. I am your wife. Shouldn't I be concerned about the things going around?"
Gerald leaned on his chair and stared at her with indifference.
"Indeed, you are my wife, my second wife." He made sure to emphasize the last three words, "But I am the head of this household. So whatever I say is the law here. Are you telling me that my words are just air now?"
Then Gerald added coldly.
"As far as I remember, I give the right to manage the household to Alysson, not to anyone else."
The Duke stated these facts to Garcy without showing any consideration. Garcy stiffened upon hearing it and her eyes turned red. She choked back all of the words that she wanted to say. His husband was almost telling her that she was only his second wife and nothing else.
She breathed air to calm her emotions. Garcy thought that it was done, but Duke Gerald added some more.
"Don't think that I don't know what you did to my daughter. I'm already being lenient for not punishing you. But don't think that I will not do so in the future." He waved his hand, "If there is nothing else that you want to say, you can go now."

Garcy was silent for a while before she turned around to leave.
"And.."Duke Gerald stopped her before she reached the door, "Whatever you saw in that place, forget all about it and pretend that you never saw anything. If there were some slipped of words, don't blame me for being merciless. These words are my last warning."
She clenched her fist before responding, "I understand."
***
A few weeks after. The Duke's first and second family, except for Garcy, were on their way to the Dusk Kingdom to attend the banquet of the royal family. His first family was on the first carriage, the second on the next carriage, and lastly...
"I thought you were not coming?" Gerald was looking at Louise while raising his brows.
Louise lazily yawned and answered the Duke.
"I changed my mind."
"Aren't you afraid that they will see you? I thought that you don't like places with so many crowds."
"Not really. That depends on the crowd. And, this is not the first time that I attended this kind of event, or whatever you call it."
Then Louise added nonchalantly.
"I don't like to be bothered by your family, though, especially that second family of yours."
Gerald sighed lightly. He was supposed to be in the carriage with his first family, but when he learned that Louise would be joining, he decided to join her carriage after a brief explanation to Allyson.
Then the Duke darted his eye to the kid that once was inside Sylvy's body, which was now silently sitting beside Louise. The mage noticed it and spoke on behalf of the kid.
"You don't have to worry about him. He will not cause a mess, I promised. By the way, I named him Vendi" She patted the kid's head.
"You seem to have a habit of taking kids into your custody," the Duke commented.
"It's better to have kids rather than adults that need to be taken care of," Louise replied.
She casually tossed a recording device to the Duke while they were talking.
"This is?"
"A gift from me. Take it as a small payment for letting me stay in your household."
Gerald played the recorded information from the crystal, and his face suddenly stiffened. Louise was quietly patting Vendi's head while observing the Duke before she spoke again.
"I know that you were quite in a dilemma of how to deal with your second wife. So I'll give that to you and do what you see fit. Aren't I resourceful?"
"Where did you get this?" The Duke asked with some suspicion.
"From that red hooded Mage."
"How did you get this?"
"Just accept it, will you? Why do you have so many questions?"
"You killed her?"
Louise tilted her head before asking.
"Do you feel pity towards that mage?"
Gerald shook his head, "That person almost killed my daughter. So, why should I pity that kind of person?"
Louise nodded her head in satisfaction and responded.
"Very good," Then she further explained, "That mage did something that is out of the line. That person even hit my bottom line. That's the less that I can do."
Gerald was silent for a while before asking.
"Kid, who exactly are you?"
Louise gave him a mysterious smile before answering, "You will regret it if you treat me like a kid. I will probably tell you soon, but not for now."
Then she continued.
"But I won't hurt your family if that what's bothering you."
Gerald silently nodded. Their carriage traveled for three days and two nights before they reached their destination.
