《Union of Worlds: Adventure in the Sky》Chapter 10 First Contact

The Food was set and the table as full, Jhin grabbed a fork and a knife and started eating. The food disappeared as if it had been teleported away. All three, Jhin, Talisa, and Shaq, were so utterly hungry that they devoured the food. Pasta with tomato paste or pesto or meatballs were slurped up. Porkchops, chicken fillets, ribs, lamb chops, Mashed potatoes and peas, salads, raw fish, cooked fish, fried fish.
All kinds of dishes existed and all kinds of them disappeared in the black holes that the three called a stomach.
It was much later when all the kitchen staff was exhausted and sleeping on the floor form that exhaustion, that the celebratory meal came to an and. Jhin was patting his bloated belly in his sleep, mumbling to himself about more food and more drinks.
Sklavos was pulling some meat stuck between his teeth when Shaq, who was petting Talisa's head spoke to him.
"What is going to happen from now on King?"
"When it comes to your Village and the Situation in-"
"I am not talking about that. I think I can trust you, on this occasion... I am talking about the pressing problems this country is facing."
"And I am guessing you aren't talking about the potential food shortage." Sklavos said knowing full well where Shaq was going with this.
"We can just eat from the leftovers." Shaq smiled at Sklavos's reaction. He might have been a commoner but he had at least lived like a human for his whole life.
".... Other than the Royal Guard we don't really have any soldiers that we can use to stay safe. Thankfully we can arm a full retinue of 100 men with guns but I still doubt that would be enough if we are to judge based on what we have learned." Sklavos began.
"Yep... We all so what Jhin became after breaking that thing. And I think everyone understands the Danger that the world poses to us. We can't stand up to it."
"I agree that it is dangerous but I would have to disagree with your scaling Shaq. What s more dangerous, one unkillable man or an unending army with peak human capabilities. I would choose the second one hands down because the one man can be reasoned with, a million men can't.

Shaq didn't argue the matter. It didn't really matter which one was more dangerous. The facts were that both of them were threats. And even if he didn't want to fight, his Class is calling for Shaq to protect the Kingdom. He did become a protector after all. A class that based on the Ranking Board stands below, both *Full Metal Fighter* and also Talisa's *Feline Berserk*, both of which are an S rank and an A- Rank respectively.
*Protector* on the other hand was ranked at a B. What appeared to be the reason for that Ranking was that the Ranks were probably based on potential. The reasoning behind that statement was that Both jhin and Talisa simply got their classes but Shaq also got a skill.

With that new addition to his Status Page, Shaq had officially broken through the previous limits of humanity. And he could feel it. He could truly sense a lot more. All five of his senses worked a lot better but even beyond simply that it felt as if he had a weaker version of his new skill always sensing danger for himself. He couldn't see the future or anything crazy, he was only Slightly Superhuman, but while eating he sensed the power distinctly. As he had been gulping down food without much thought he went ahead and tried to bite fried fish.
At that moment though his senses tensed a little and he stopped himself. He carefully opened the fish and found inside a sharp piece of wood sticking out of the fish from the inside. If he had eaten that fish he might have died. And thus he knew ho it felt to have superhuman senses.
For now, it was a very weak feeling that Shaq wouldn't have picked up on if he hadn't been so relaxed and peaceful during that moment. If he had been tense even in the slightest he might have died by missing it.
Shaq stopped going through all that stuff in his head though as he headed to bed and took a nice, long sleep. His wounds were far from healed and he still needed a lot of sleep to recuperate.

The next morning though, he and the there two were rudely awakened when the loud sound of a trumpet broke the silence of the city. Not a single person could stay awake after that and all rushed out to see what was going on.
Jhin and the others strolled up to a platform from which they could view the main gates of the City Walls. Right behind those was a group of people. They were a weird group. A few of them wore spotless white Chitons, covering one side of their chest and reaching all the way to the ankles. A silk blue scarf went from their neck and also reached the same length as the other clothing. Another group of them wore, almost nothing, other than some animal fur and a blood-red tattoo on their backs, the tattoo resembling the roof of the tower that could be seen peeking over the horizon.
While another group, this one more normal than the rest, dressed in normal clerk outfits. Armed with quill and paper could be seen patiently waiting for the two men in the front to announce the group's presence and for the gates to open. Most of them talking amongst each other like normal humans, when compared to the deathly silent two other groups.
"... So they came so soon..." Sklavos shook his head immediately after seeing the group of 11 people.
"I was gonna go there either way, so isn't it better that they came here themselves?" Jhin said as he rushed away from the viewing platform and rushed for the city gates. The gates which were currently slowly opening for the previously alien guests.
The group of 11 passed through the gates and into the city, which, for the most part, had already been bustling with workers repeating the damages that had occurred during the rapture.
They inspected the city and its situation with a very close eye. they walked down the path the guards led them and eventually reached the palace gates. The palace walls had been one of the first things to be repaired and even reinforced over the past three days and the completed result looked pretty magnificent. all the people in the city had worked together to set up a stronger wall with more fortifications and defenses.
Right above the steel-reinforced gates, two massive cannons stood solemnly. Their black barrels pointed straight for the ground.
All three of the tattooed members of the group shudder when they looked at those cannons and reflexively took out their weapons. Entered fighting stances and released their killing intent.
The world around them seemed to change as a visible aura exploded from their bodies. The ground rattled and the pavement broke.
"You three! We aren't here for a fight, hide your auras!" One of the three men covered in the white and blue Chitons spoke, but another spoke up right away.
"No don't, this is a good show of strength."
Right as the other, and older, member of the group finished his sentence something could be seen and heard falling from the sky.
A man that yelled as if he was born in the jungle and raised thinking he was an ape, only to fall in love with a British woman named Jane and change her ways, came crashing into the floor right in front of the delegation from the other world. Dust and debris exploded in the air and covered the man's appearance.
Who to the surprise of the whole delegation got up. This was astounding because from what they had seen so far, all people from this man's world were simple, Classless humans. They shouldn't have the physical ability to do things like that. But the second reason was that the man had withstood the increased pressure from the three Red Champions as if it didn't even exist.
"I would have to agree with the first blu guy. I'll have you know that no matter how much you want to kill those two things they won't get scared... Because they aren't alive in the first place. "
Jhin came out of the dust he created, his body had already changed back into his human form, as he spoke to the delegation.
"Good morning everyone! I also wanted to experience your world very much, so thanks for coming!" Jhin smiled widely and stretched a hand forward to greet the group of people.

How the Stars Turned Red
Announcement as of 05 July 2022: I've been diagnosed with some pretty severe nerve damage in my left arm, rendering me unable to write effectively, and as such this story is on hold until it is healed. I am so sorry, and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. In the latter half of the 3rd millennium CE, humanity has spread across the stars, inhabiting close to five-hundred worlds across the Orion Arm. Earth has become irrelevant, a historical has-been. The galactic map is dominated by two mega-factions, both controlling vast amounts of territories either through direct control or through their many allies and treaty signatories. The Kingdom of Aurora is the political and economic hegemon despite consisting of only seven inhabited worlds; their strength lies in the Royal Union, an interstellar commonwealth composing an internal market and a common defence pact. These member worlds are myriad and varied, culturally as well as politically, but they all flock to the same banner. The Independent Systems Alliance, spearheaded by the Republic of Elysium, is the ascendant challenger to Aurora and the Union. A pseudo-federal multi-system polity, the Alliance economy and military is rapidly expanding, but at the cost of effective democratic and meritocratic involvement by its people. However, with two superpowers as this, chafing along a common border, and with a constant clamour of polemics, both sides have become convinced the other is constantly preparing for war and are on the look-out for any perceived weakness in their opponent. The predictable result is a huge arms race and a cold war spreading across the stars, requiring only a spark to set the galaxy aflame. Drawn into this game of high stakes are ordinary men and women, their peaceful lives, hopes, and aspirations swallowed by the vortex of conflict and distrust. This is their story. Cover art by Rhodex Designs (FB). Hope you like long chapters and adjectives. Note: English is not my first language. Another story set in the same universe, written by a good friend
