Chapter 19: WAR. / A Never Ending Fight Across The Universe.

“What? What war?” Kane asked

“Did you not think, ‘Oh, why is Evan doing this stuff all of a sudden’ after I even took over the world?” Evan asked

“I ask why you do virtually anything. Are you saying that we are going to have a rebellion?” Kane asked

“No, nothing of the sort. Not at all.” Said Evan

“Then what war? Are you making this digital world a war zone?” Kane asked

“This is an escape zone, not everyone is suitable to get transferred over here, but it’s to save as many people as possible. I’ve told Phil to put a warning on the air. Anyway, we should get out of here for now, we reached Anne’s control room. Anne, this place is for you To monitor and regulate this world. I’m not sure how long I’ll be gone, but I know that I’m sure as hell sending Kane over here.” Said Evan

“Wait, what? Evan, what are you talking about? Are you not staying? You aren’t making sense!” Kane asked

“My body can’t actually transfer fully over. I could take the real you into here, but this digital body is the furthest I can come to being in this world. I have to stay out there anyways. I need to fight for the others who can’t handle the transfer, like me. Phil and the janes can’t transfer either, so I’ll have them with me.” Evan said, smiling

“No, wait, Evan. Hold on. What war?” Anne asked

“Ah. Anne, what world were you born on, do you remember it at all?” Evan asked

“Wait, you… you knew about that?” Anne asked

“Reincarnation is quite obvious, especially in an AI.” Said Evan

“Well… I remember it was hell. Endless fighting, almost no resources, and people dying every second. It was dry. Very dry.” Said Anne.

“Yes, well, that same thing is going to happen to earth. That’s why I’m sending everyone here. Unfortunately, I’d estimate around 40% of our population will be unable to transfer over.” Said Evan

“So… only 60% of all of the people in the world can transfer?” Anne asked

“Yes. When I transfer everyone I’ll be locking the door. The other species won’t be able to enter unless you let them. The enemies from The Endless War, that is. Though, they probably can’t detect this place, let alone have the compatibility required to enter, and even more so the skill. And there’s no other way to get in. Even teleportation won’t work. It’s not just a simple alternate or pocket dimension, it’s on its way to becoming a new reality, almost. No, it already is. Either way. You get what I mean?” Evan asked

“The HELL I do! First! What war! Second! When is this going to happen! Third! Why do you have to stay! Fourth! How...how long will it take for you to be back. You aren’t joking, right? You never sound this serious.” Kane asked

“Mhm, it’s called The Endless War, it’s a war between every other species in reality. As for why? Even if I was able to transfer over here, I still would have stayed in our world. You seem to forget that I control the world, and what good is a team without a leader. This place may be safe and comfy, but our world is going to become far from that. The first thing they will do is bombard the planets surface. I’ve set up shields around all the cities and a few other shelters, it should be enough space for everyone who can't transfer. I made them using the magic barrier I showed you earlier, Just modified. But they won’t know that. Unless I’m there, nobody will be safe. I’m the only one who can activate or use magic right now. Phil also has to lock the door from our side to yours. We have been stockpiling supplies, and built miniature shelters with supplies across the entire world. And that last question. That’s hard to say. At least a century as far as I can tell. Probably more. Maybe even never.” Evan said

“How..” Anne and Kane asked

“Don’t worry about it. Stay here. I’m saying that as an order, not a question, not a favor. Just do as I say. Or you might cause needless casualties. And as for you, Kane, if you think to jump out at the last minute to be heroic or something? Don’t. I’m leaving you here for good reason. We each have our own roles in this war. You are the only person who will be able to maintain this place. When Anne reads the notes I left her she will explain it." Evan said

"This is war, not child’s play. There is no friendship that will be solving this.” Evan said

“....Fine.” Kane said

“Alright Kane, log out. I’m bringing you to the machine.” Said Evan

“What? Oh...you mean the one you mentioned earlier?” Kane asked

“Yes, hurry up.” Said Evan
